Summary:

Jonathan turns into a famous photographer, however he took more photos during the late 80s and early 90s. Photos of his family. These photos featured queerness at their center and could not be published. Now, some years in the future these stories can be told, so he publishes them in a book with the writing of Nancy.

Chapter Text

Foreword

This book contains photographs by Jonathan Byers made in the late 80s and early 90s and writing by Nancy Byers.

When these pictures were taken they could not be shown to those outside the family depict, this family that meant so much to those that were in it. A family built, not born out of blood, but fought for. A gathering of queer souls, who have been through a lot together. These pictures are now allowed to see the light of day. These stories are now allowed to be shared.

All of the writing and images are published with the consent of those in them. Everyone has given their input and thoughts, going down memory lane to the good and the bad. We thank them all and love them very much. We also thank you, dear reader, for allowing us to be heard, for us to be able to be proud without having to be hidden.

This book is dedicated to perseverance, to being alive and those who make life worth living.
