Chapter Text

It was a normal day for Leo and his brothers, as normal as a day can get for four mutant turtles.

The four were on their way to meet up with CJ, Cass and April at Run of the Mill. The two girls had taken CJ clothes shopping since he needed some clothes fit for a non-apocalyptic life. While jumping over the rooftops, Mikey suddenly stopped. His big brothers stopped to see what he was doing.

“Mikey? Is something wrong?“, asked Raph.

“Something feels… off.“

“Is it mystic?“, wondered Donnie.

“I think so, yeah…“

Whatever it was, it was worrying Mikey. He, out of all of his brothers, was the most in touch with his mystic powers. Something was going on. It felt an awful lot like the portals Leo made. But not completely, it also felt slightly like his own. The one he made to save Leo. Almost as if there was one portal, mixing both of their powers together. It was concerning.

“What does it feel like? Anything we know?“, asked Leo.

“It feels like your portals, but also mine? It’s confusing“

“How is that possible? Your portals are fundamentally different. They shouldn’t be able to be mixed!”, said Donnie while pulling his goggles down. He wanted to know if he could see where the mystic energy was originating.

“We should go check it out.”, said Leo.

“Definitely, Mikey, Donnie can you lead us there?”, agreed Raph.

“Scoff. Of course, we can.”

“Duh! Come on!”

The two started heading towards the outburst of mystic energy.

Once they reached the source of mystic energy, they spotted a young child. They looked like any other child, but to the four turtles, it was clear that they were a young witch. One that fits in with humans oddly well. They seemed to be practicing a spell of sorts. They had notes in one hand and were creating a pinkish light with the other.

Mikey jumped down, wanting to talk to the child. Mystic was dangerous, he knew that well. They shouldn’t be practicing spells without supervision. There was a reason that Draxum was always there when Mikey wanted to try a new spell.

His brothers jumped right after their youngest.

Mikey kneeled down next to the kid.

“Hi there-“

He was cut off by the child screaming and the mystic spell growing bigger and brighter.

“Whoa! It’s fine. We’re good guys no need to be scared.”, Mikey said, trying to calm them down a little. The outburst could make the spell go haywire.

Much to the box turtles' dismay, as the child was slowly calming down, they saw the other three turtles, setting them off even more.

The pink spell grew bigger and bigger. It began pulling in small rocks from the floor, and with everything it pulled in, it grew even more. It was almost like the spell had become sentient like the child was no longer in control of the spell.

It soon began pulling in bigger things, it was only a matter of time before the spell would pull the five of them in as well.

Mikey picked up the child, if he was right, they would be pulled in next. He brought them to hide behind a bench; the bench was mounted to the ground.

“Hold on to the bench as hard as you can! We can take care of this!”, said Mikey. The child was much calmer by now. They were still scared, they hoped the Yokai could fix the mess they made…

Just as Mikey was getting closer to his brothers to figure out how to stop this the portal began pulling him in. It lifted him off his feet. Mikey acted fast, using his chains to wrap around a fire hydrant to keep himself from being pulled in.

Before his brothers could grab the chain to pull their youngest back, Mikey slipped. The portal was too strong and he was pulled in.

“MIKEY!”, yelled his brothers.

The portal immediately grew to double in size and within seconds both Donnie and Leo were being pulled in. Leo kept making his own portals to not be pulled in. Donnie activated his jetpack and tried to fly against the pull but he didn’t move.

Raph got close enough to his brothers and grabbed Leo by the wrist and Donnie by his ankle.

“What are we going to do? That thing ate Mikey!”, yelled Leo.

“We have to get him back!”, said Donnie.

Raph noticed he was slowly being pulled towards the portal.

“Guys, I’m slipping!”

“WHAT?!”, yelled the twins in sync.

As soon as they exclaimed the big turtle was lifted off the ground the three were pulled in.

The portal grew much bigger again before glowing in a bright neon pink and disappearing, hopefully for good.

The child let go of the bench and their mind was beginning to catch up with what just had happened.

“Uh oh.”, was all they could say.

They messed up big time. How would they be able to fix this?

In a dull and dark city, a bright pink portal popped up above a tall building. Out of it came four mutant turtles, crashing them right into the roof of the building.

As the four slowly took in their surroundings, the older three spotted the smallest of them.

“MIKEY!”, they exclaimed and ran over to him and pulled him into a hug – well giving him a head pat with a robotic arm.

“What happened?”, wondered Mikey.

“We were all pulled into the spell. It was apparently a portal.”, said Donnie.

“Then where are we?”, asked Raph.

“Looks like New York, just boring.”, said Leo.

“It can’t be New York… unless…”, began Donnie.

Somewhere in the sewers, three mutant turtles were startled when their brother in purple came rushing in.

“Guys! I picked up an unusual power not far from here! It could be the Kraang again!”

“Aww man, I was just about to watch Super Robo Mecha Force Five!”, complained Mikey.

“Finally! Something interesting!”, said Raph.

“Let’s go, guys! It could be dangerous!”, said Leo.

The four brothers head top aside to see where this weird energy was coming from.

Meanwhile, in a different New York, April, Cassandra and CJ were sitting in Run of the Mill, waiting for their brothers.

“They’re really late.”, said CJ.

“They’re never late for pizza…”, said April, “I’m calling them.”

April called Donnie; he didn’t pick up. Weird. She moved on to Raph, he didn’t pick up either. She called Mikey and Leo too, but neither picked up.

“None of them are picking up…”

“Maybe they were kidnapped by an enemy, we should go and crush them!”, exclaimed Cass.

“You really need a hobby, girl.”, said April.

“I have a bad feeling about this.”, said CJ.

“Me too, buddy, me too.”

Chapter Text

As the four turtles analyzed their surroundings, they took notice not only of the bland look of this city but also noticed the lack of people out and about. They were used to humans always walking around the city. Seeing a city similar to New York, albeit an odd one, this empty just felt wrong.

“Where are we?”, wondered Mikey.

“Probably Jersey.”, said Leo. The comment earned him an unimpressed glance from his older brothers.

“Not the time Leo!”, Raph said, more exhausted than anything.

Donnie felt like he had seen this odd-looking city before. It looks so familiar. It looks like New York but at the same time not. But that wasn’t quite it either. He looked around a little more and noticed one particular building. It was a skyscraper with the letters TCRI written on one of the sides.

Then it clicked. Donnie had seen this city when he looked into alternate universes a few years ago. He only dabbled into it for a few weeks but enough to notice this particular building. It was incredibly unique in this city and it just stuck with Donnie.

Somehow the portal the little witch had created sent them to an alternate reality.

“I know where we are!”, Donnie exclaimed.

His brothers turned to him.

“We are in…”, Donnie paused for dramatic effect, ”a different reality!”

There was silence for a second, then his brothers burst out laughing. This idea was ridiculous. After a few seconds, they noticed that Donnie wasn’t laughing. He was serious about this.

“Wait. Really?”, said Mikey.

“Yes.”, said Donnie.

“How do you know that?!”, asked Raph.

“I dabbled into the idea of the multiverse a while ago. I’m certain that I observed this reality for a while. Didn’t think dimension travel would be this easy. Which by the way, is really really, that two reallys, amazing!”

“Donnie, did you stalk these people?”, said Leo.

“No! I just observed them for science!”

“You make them sound like test subjects.”, said Mikey.

“Donnie. What did we say about others' privacy?”, said Raph in a stern voice.

“To not invade it. But it’s technically it us!”

“That’s not any better, Dee.”, said Leo.

“At least we know where we are now! And luckily it’s not the one where all of us are weirdly tall. The Cass of that one is a cop.” That world freaked out Donnie a little.

“Ignoring that. What do we do now?”, asked Leo.

“Find a place to hide and look how to get back home.”, said Donnie.

“Can’t we go ask our other selves for help?”, asked Mikey. Meeting another Mikey sounds fun.

“We could, but I’m not sure what would happen if we met. Best case, nothing. Worst case, one of us evaporates.”

“Yeah, we’re not risking that.”, said Raph, “You guys hear that?”

There was the sound of running coming closer to them.

“Let’s get out of here!”, said Mikey and ran off. His big brothers followed him. It’s not like any of them knew where they were going anyway.

But who had been coming towards them?

Jumping over the roofs was nothing new to the four turtle brothers. Following Donnie in a wild goose chose was.

“We’re close! The power source is coming from that roof!”, said Donnie.

“We need to be quiet we don’t know who or what could be up there.”, said their leader in blue.

The four made their way up quietly. Once the roof was in sight there was nothing.

“Would you look at that? A whole lot of NOTHING!”, said Raph annoyed.

“But it’s coming from here! I know it!”, said Donnie.

Leo put a hand on his brother's shoulder.

“Maybe they just left again. We should look around a bit more, maybe we can find something.”

Looking around the roof and the surrounding alleys no one was able to find any clues, except Mikey.

Looking over the roof Mikey spotted something bright pink. He had never seen anything this colourful before, aside from the stuff the Kraang have. He picked it up, it was a sticker. How did a sticker get here? Doesn’t matter, it looked really cool!

“Guys look what I found!”, Mikey showed off his finding to his older brothers.

“It’s a sticker.”, said Raph unimpressed.

“Yes, but look how bright it is!”

“It’s just a sticker, Mikey. Did anyone else find something?”, asked Leo.

His brothers shook their heads.

“Sorry, I was sure there was something here…”, said Donnie.

“It’s not your fault. Better safe than sorry, right.”, Leo reassured him.

“Let’s patrol while we’re out here.”, said Raph.

Something about that sticker was off, at least Donnie thought so. But then again he never really saw many stickers. It was just weirdly bright, right?

Sneaking through the city was easier than back home. The city was unusually empty compared to the New York back in their home dimension.

After a while of searching the four found an abandoned warehouse. Hopefully, no one would come looking here. They would be gone soon again anyway, they hoped at least.

They sat close together; they needed a plan. They needed to get home but they also needed resources. They didn’t know just how long they would be stuck here and they needed food. They hadn’t even eaten dinner yet, since they never made it to Run of the Mill.

“What are we going to do?”, asked Mikey.

“We need to figure out how to do is make a portal. Getting food would also be good.”, said Donnie.

“I could-“, Mikey was cut off by all of his brothers.

“NO!”

“I’ve been practicing!”

“We know, Mike. But Draxum also said that you are too powerful for your own body. We can’t risk it!”, said Raph.

“But-“

“You’re not making a portal. Doctor’s orders!”, said Leo.

“What does a doctor have to do with it?”, said Mikey.

“I’ll have to take care of your hands again. They just healed, Miguel!”

“Fine, but if I can’t make a portal, how are we gonna get home?”

“The old fashion way.”, said Donnie, “With some of my highly futuristic tech. We’ll need to find a junkyard.”

“Wait! Do you have cloaking brooches with you?”, asked Leo.

The other three nodded and pulled out their brooches.

“We can easily blend in then! We can easily get food and even some stuff for the portal!”, said Leo.

“We still have to steal all of it.”, said Raph.

“Worry not my spiky brother. I can take care of that.”, said Donnie.

“Donnie, what did we say about stealing money?”

“To only do it from corrupt multimillionaires?”

Raph looked at his brother unimpressed. He should have seen that coming.

“I give up.”

While Donnie was getting them some much-needed money, Mikey and Leo put on their brooches. They needed to get some food. Let’s see if they can find a pizza place anywhere nearby. They easily found one and thanks to Donnie didn’t have to steal the pizza they ordered.

Back in the warehouse, they sat down to eat their pizza. As soon as Mikey took off his brooch, Leo noticed something.

“Hey, Miguel. One of your stickers is missing.”

“Huh?”, Mikey looked down at his plastron and Leo was right, his birth pink sticker was gone. “I didn’t know it came loose earlier. Luckily I always have extras with me!” With that, Mikey pulled out an identical sticker to the one he lost and placed it in the same spot.

As they were eating and talking Mikey had an idea.

“We need cover names!”, said Mikey.

“Why? Our names are fine.”, said Raph.

“But what if we run into this world’s April or Cass?”

“How would they even know? The us of this world are turtles. We’ll look human.”, said Leo.

“It would be awfully convenient if we even run into them.”, said Donnie.

Mikey gave his brothers his best puppy dog eyes, pleading with them. Mikey knew that this always works on his older brothers.

“Fine. What did you have in mind?”, asked Raph.

“Yes! So, since we’re half Japanese I thought Japanese names would fit! Raph will be Soma, Leo will be Daiki, Donnie will be Tsubaki and I’ll be Shoyo!”

“Works for me.”, said Donnie Tsubaki.

“Are these from anime?”, asked Daiki.

“Yep.”

The four brothers finished their pizza and decided to go to sleep. Figuring this whole thing out could wait a little longer. They won’t be able to get much done now anyway.

Chapter Text

Getting around New York was easy enough with their cloaking brooches. They had split up. Soma and Shoyo were on their way to get some supplies, mainly groceries. Daiki and Tsubaki were trying to get some supplies regarding the portal.

Normally Soma would not allow the twins to go off on their own, especially in a new dimension, but he had no other choice. Tsubaki was the tech guy and Daiki was the portal guy. They had the most knowledge about this stuff.

The twins walked closer to a building; many teens were walking into it. It was probably a school. They tried to walk by the school but someone spotted them.

“You two! You should be inside already! Classes are about to start”, said the teacher.

“We aren’t students here.”, said Daiki.

“Nice try kid. That won’t work! Get to class!”

Daiki was about to argue again but his brother grabbed him by the hood of his shirt and began dragging him inside the building.

“What are you doing? We’re going to be stuck here for hours!”

“Or will we? We can just dib with one of your portals.”

“In case you forgot, I left my swords!”

“Oh boy.”

“Well? What do we do now?”

“I don’t know! We’ve never been to school!”

The twins kept arguing with one another and didn’t notice the two teens watching them. They decided to approach the twins.

“Hello, do you guys need help? You seem a little lost.”

The twins jumped a little, they weren’t used to people just talking to them this suddenly.

“What’s with the reaction? You guys scared or something?”

Daiki and Tsubaki got a good look at the two in front of them. One was a girl with ginger hair and freckles. She wore something, both brothers found a little old, almost as if she came right out the early 2010s rather than the 2020s. The other was a boy dressed in all black. Tsubaki couldn’t help but notice the boy's missing front teach and the ridiculous amount of paint stains on his clothes. The two seemed awfully familiar, somehow, the brothers couldn’t quite put their fingers in it.

The twins had been quiet, Daiki decided to take it from there and came up with a cover story.

“We’re new here. We don’t know where to get our schedules and stuff.”

“We could take you to the principal’s office.”, said the girl.

“We’d appreciate that.”

“Well, let’s go. I’ll do anything to get out of a little of my math class.”, said the boy.

The walk to the office was filled with the two teens making small talk with Daiki, Tsubaki kept quiet, he was busy tapping away on his phone.

“Here we are. We have to get to class now, maybe we have some classes together.”, said the girl.

“Maybe, I’m Daiki by the way. Daiki Hamato. And that’s my twin Tsubaki.”

“We never introduced ourselves, did we? I’m April O’Neil.”

“I’m the one and only Casey Jones. See you around, dudes!”

The two left the twins in front of the office. As soon as they were out of sight the twins turned to each other looking shocked.

“That’s April?!”, questioned Tsubaki.

“Why is she white? Was she whitewashed?!”

“And that – that idiot is CJ? Our baby brother CJ? That disgusting-“

“Whoa, that’s harsh, Dee.”

“Did you see his hair? It’s just as greasy as CJs when we first met him! We had to wash his hair three times! THREE TIMES, NARDO!”

“Okay, fair.”

“I hate this universe.”

“Yeah, yeah. I know. Can you get us enrolled here? We kinda need to roll with my story now.”

“Scoff. I already did that. What do thing I was doing while you were talking to them.”

“Avoiding conversations with strangers.

“Point taken. But no, I enrolled us in a few classes.”

“Nice, now we just need to tell the others.”

“Already did. Raph is going to scold us later.”

“I figured that much.”

The twins knocked on the door and walked in. They received their schedules and despite Tsubaki's planning, they were not in the same classes. Someone had changed them while the twins were talking outside, great. Now Daiki had to go to a math class while Tsubaki had drama class.

When Daiki walked into his math class he spotted Casey. At least he knew someone in this class. The hokey player looked surprised to see the boy but excited as well. The woman in front of the class, the teacher, turned to Daiki and asked: “And who are you?”

“I’m Daiki Hamato, I’m new, this is my first class. I think.”

“Really? I wasn’t told that. Well, sit down next to Casey. Can-“, she was cut off by Daiki.

“I already know Casey.”

He then sat down next to the other.

“Can’t get enough of the Casey Jones, can you?”

“Keep dreaming, buddy.”

Maybe math wouldn’t be as boring as he originally thought.

Drama class? Really? Sure, Tsubaki was a theatre kid as much as any of his siblings, but doing that with strangers was a big no. He just wanted to get it over with.

Walking inside the room he was surprised that he saw this world's April almost immediately. She stood out like a sore thumb with all these boring-looking people around, the only one that seemed to have any character was the girl next to her. Tsubaki had to be honest, he liked her style.

“Are you a new student?”, asked the teacher.

He already sounded annoyed with Tsubaki. What a joy.

Tsubaki just nodded. He didn’t feel like talking.

“Well, kid. What’s your name? And take the headphones off, it’s rude.”

The man reached for the headphones. Tsubaki stepped back a little and glared.

“The name's Tsubaki Hamato and the headphones stay right where they are.”

“Kids these days. Sit down and keep quiet.”

Tsubaki already heated the man. This was going to be a joy, wasn’t it?

He went to sit next to April; he didn’t want to sit next to a complete stranger. Sure, he didn’t know her but she was the interdimensional counterpart of his sister, she had to be a decent person. As soon as he sat down April began talking to him.

“Don’t let what he said get to you. He’s a sad, lonely, old man. He takes out his frustrations on his students.”

“I noticed. Sigh. This is going to be a pain.”

The new girl looked at him oddly. April took notice of her confusion.

“He’s one of the guys Casey and I helped earlier. Tsubaki, this is Irma, my best friend.”

Irma just nodded in acknowledgement, turning back to the front of the class.

Tsubaki really hates this place.

Meanwhile with the remaining two brothers.

Soma and Shoyo were walking through the isles getting everything they’d need to survive for a few days, maybe even weeks. Who knows.

People looked at them oddly. It probably was weird, seeing two teens, who should definitely be at school right now, grocery shopping.

Shoyo was looking at the list on his phone when he received a message from Tsubaki. He opened the message and saw that Tsubaki message the group chat and explained what had happened to them.

How do the twins always get into these messes?!

“Soma, look at your phone.”

“Why?”

“The twins.”

That was enough to get the older to pull out his phone.

“What did they do – Oh, come on! How do they even do that?”

“You ask me? I’m just as lost as you.”

“They are in for something when they get back!”

“We should pick them up after school, to make sure they don’t get into another mess.”

“Good idea!”

Shoyo asked them to send their location. He wouldn’t be surprised if they ran into this world's April at school.

Turns out he was right. Great.

Back in their temporary home, Shoyo scrolled through the internet. He was reading up on this world’s famous chef and apparently, they didn’t have Ruppert Swaggert or Condescending Kitchen.

He eventually stumbled upon a messaging forum. He was bored and thought why not. He made an account and it didn’t take long for him to run into a familiar name.

Michelangelo.

Was this his counterpart? Probably. Should he text him? Maybe not the best idea, but he was bored. What’s the worst that could happen?

Turns out he and his counterpart hit it off immediately. This was going to be fun.

Finally! School was over! How does April do it every day? The twins barely survived a day. Casey and April made it bearably. The twins had agreed that maybe they should keep going here because they found out a few things due to Casey and April slipping up a bit. They knew for sure that these two knew their counterparts. They kept talking about their four homeschooled friends. Definitely the resident turtle mutants.

Walking outside the twins immediately spotted their big brother. He was incredibly easy to spot due to his size. Especially in the sea of teenagers. Their little brother, on the other hand; they could barely see him. They only noticed the very tip of the bow holding up his hair in a bun.

“Whoa, who’s the massive guy?”, asked Casey loudly.

“That would be our dearest big brother, Ra – Soma.”, said Tsubaki. He almost slipped up.

“He’s really big.”, said April.

“Yeah, he’s the definition of a gentle giant. He’s basically a big teddy bear.”, said Daiki.

The four walked closer to Soma, eventually April and Casey noticed the other boy next to the big guy. April couldn’t help but think that he was just the cutest boy she ever saw. He was really rivalling Mikey; she didn’t expect that to ever happen.

“How was school?”, asked Soma, the twins noticed the anger in his voice. They were in for a big scolding.

“Annoying.”, said Tsubaki.

“Too long.”, said Daiki.

“And who are they?”, asked Shoyo.

“That’s April and that’s Casey. We met them earlier.”, said Tsubaki, while pointing to the two humans.

The shocked expression went unnoticed by them.

“These are our brothers.”, said Daiki, “Soma, the big brother, and Shoyo, the little brother.”

“Nice to meet you”, said April.

“Likewise!”, said Shoyo.

“Well, it was nice meeting you, but we really need to get going.”, said Soma.

“Us too, see you around, dudes.”, said Casey.

“Why is April white?”, asked Shoyo the second the two humans were out of sight.

“Mikey! You can’t just ask why someone is white?!”, said Soma.

“It’s a legitimate question.”, said Daiki. Tsubaki just nodded along.

Notes:

I wrote a short about how the boys got their brooches, in case you wanted to know how that went.

I want to point out that I know Cassandra is the Casey of the Rise universe. But the boys don't know that yet. They assume that this universe has a Cassandra and that Casey is her son from an alternate future.

Also, I like to think that Casey and CJ are latino, while Cassandra is Asian (she doesn't know what her heritage is). And CJ is a dumpster baby future Cass found and decided to keep.

Chapter Text

As Casey and April made their way through the sewers to meet up with their turtle friends they talked about the two boys they had met today.

“And Tsubaki just glared at him. I’ve never seen that guy shut up that quickly!”, April told Casey excitedly.

“That’s radical! These two are gonna make school much more fun! Oh! And I’m pretty sure Daiki was close to biting that one chick’s hand when she reached for the marks on his face! He was gonna bite her!”

“To be fair he had been telling her off for like 10 minutes. And if that hadn’t scared her off, Tsubaki would have. He looked so ready to end her.”

“Not gonna lie he reminds me of Donnie, if didn’t have any restrain.”

“Honestly, I agree. Donnie can be scary at times. But Daiki reminds me of Leo too!”

“How so? Daiki is so, I don’t know, cheerful? Happy?”

“Did you see him talk about, what was it? Jupiter Sam? He looked like Leo talking about Space Heroes.”

“Now that you mention it, you’re right. We should tell him about Space Heroes!”

The two finally reached the lair. They were immediately greeted by Mikey, who had just walked into the common area from the kitchen, he had a bowl of cereal in hand. Since the turtles had met April, she made sure they had actual food at home. She couldn’t have her friends eating that goop she once saw. If she could she would buy them the best possible food, these boys deserved the world. Nowadays Casey helps her get the groceries. It made carrying the food for them easier. These guys can eat a lot. Both had been thinking about getting a job to spoil the guys with everything they never had growing up.

“Hey guys!”, said Mikey.

“How was school?”, said Leo.

The two humans just noticed the turtle in blue sitting on the floor, watching Space Heroes.

“Like always?”, mocked Raph. He had just come into the room after hearing Mikey greet the two, he was also dragging Donnie along. The older turtle was likely in his lab. Probably trying to get Donnie to take a break. He really needed to take more of those.

“Haha. No, school was a lot more exciting today!”, said Casey.

“Really? What happened?”, asked Mikey, excited to hear about their day.

“So, we met two new students are they’re really cool!”, started April.

The humans told their friends about their day and most importantly about their two new friends. Some time into their retelling, Master Splinter joined them. It was rare to see these two this excited about school. The boys they talked about seemed nice, he was glad the two had the chance to socialize with other humans their age.

“And then we walked out of the building and we saw-“, April was cut off by Casey.

“There was this huge guy, he was easily over 6 foot! And turns out that’s their big brother! The guy looked like he could pick up a bus!”

“His name’s Soma, Daiki called him the definition of a gentle giant. He came to pick up the twins with their little brother, Shoyo. And let me tell you, he is so adorable. I just wanted to hug him!”

“Is he cuter than me?”, asked Mikey batting his eyes. He knows he’s the cutest out of his brothers.

“I wouldn’t say cuter, but he gets really close.”, said April.

Donnie couldn’t help but feel a little jealous while the two humans began talking about their new friends.

He was happy for them, he really was. They deserved normal friends, but he also feared that they might leave them eventually because they preferred that normal life. He didn’t want to lose either of them. He wouldn’t let anyone know about this.

He really had to work on this, didn’t he? He was jealous of Casey before and now these two guys he never even met. Urgh, why was this complicated? This stuff was easier when they didn’t have friends. Not that he would ever change that now. He cared about April. And maybe Casey too. His thoughts about Casey were… odd. Yeah, odd.

Mikey was amazed by the twins his friends had met. He wanted to meet them. They sounded so cool! But he wasn’t sure if they would like him, most people would be afraid of him after all. All he wanted were more friends. All he could do was hope, hope he could be friends with them one day. Oh, and meet his new online friend, Shoyo, too! Weird how his new friend and the twins’ little brothers were both names Shoyo, must be a coincidence.

Leo and Raph liked to hear the story about the twins. They seemed fun and April and Casey liked them. They wouldn’t mind meeting them one day, but they knew very well that humans were afraid of mutants. They will do their best to keep the twins and their brothers out of everything. They want April and Casey to keep some normality in their already weird lives. It’s the best thing they could do.

“Oh! Master Splinter?”

“Yes, April?”

“Is there any chance someone from the Hamato Clan survived?”

“I do not believe so. May I ask what brought this up?”

“Tsubaki and Daiki introduced themselves as Tsubaki and Daiki Hamato. They also mentioned that they moved to New York from Japan.”

“Could they be related to us?!”, yelled Mikey.

“It’s highly unlikely that they are, it could just be a convenience.”, said Donnie.

“April, Casey. Keep an eye out for them. Maybe we aren’t as alone as we thought.”, said Splinter.

“Of course, Sensei.”

“You got it!”

After finishing their conversation, the group decided that it was time for today’s patrol. Donnie insisted that they stick together for today, he was still a little on edge because of the odd energy he had picked up on yesterday.

Daiki and Tsubaki were walking home, well back to their temporary hideout. Their big brother was very against them going out. He wasn’t very fond of leaving them on their own, especially after what had happened earlier.

But the two brothers needed to get some fresh air. They had spent the majority of the day holed up in school. They really weren’t surprised why April liked to complain about school as much as she did. It was horrible, to the point that Tsubaki voluntarily went on a walk with Daiki. It was that bad.

As they walked through the streets of an oddly empty New York, they took notice of the figures on the roofs. They looked human, but according to Tsubaki, there was something mechanic about them. Almost as if they were robots.

The brothers took a left turn into an alley and were almost immediately met by said figures. They were ninja or looked to be.

Why would someone target them? Odd.

“Soo, you guys from Jersey?”

“Really?”

Chapter Text

Patrol was quiet. Too quiet if you had asked the turtles. They were worried that the Foot or the Kraang were planning something. Every time it was quiet something big was bound to happen.

While they jumping over the roof of New York they heard noises from an alley. The group of six halted.

“Did you hear that?”, asked Leo.

“It came from there!”, said Mikey while pointing towards said alley. They walked over quietly to see what made that noise. Looking down into the alley they saw a few foot bots surround two teenage boys.

Upon noticing the boys April gasped.

“What are they doing here?”, asked Casey.

“You know them?”, asked Donnie.

“Those two are Daiki and Tsubaki.”, answered April.

“We need to get them out.”, said Leo, “April, Casey, get them out of there. We can handle the foot bots. They can’t see us.”

The two humans nodded and headed down the fire escape to help their friends. The turtle brothers watched, they needed to wait for the right moment to jump in.

“Why can’t we just help them?”, asked Mikey.

“The less people know about us, the better.”, said Raph.

“But they could be family!”

“Could. We don’t know if they are related to the same Hamato clan as us.”, said Donnie.

If the other three brothers had been honest, they wanted the two boys, and the brothers, to be related to them. The idea of a bigger family made them happy. They had only ever had each other until April and Casey came around. Having more people around would be great. But they’d rather keep their distance than get innocent people involved, even if they wanted to get closer to them.

“Why are these excuses of tech attacking us?”, yelled Tsubaki in frustration as he dodged another sword.

“You think I know?!”, yelled his brother back as he ducked to dodge the sword aimed at him. They really should have listened to their big brother and stayed home.

Daiki tried to grab the robot’s sword to use it again the bots. Just as he was reaching he heard a familiar voice.

“Guys! We need to get out of here!”, it was April.

“GOONGALA!”

The bot was knocked back by something. Was that a Hockey stick? Yep, it was. He looked over to see Casey. He was wearing an awful get-up. Was this his mission gear? It looked more like an odd assortment of hockey gear. He looked so much like CJ, but somehow he reminded Daiki more of Cassandra. Was Casey Cassandra’s counterpart rather than CJ’s?

Casey grabbed Daiki’s wrist, dragging him to the exit of the alley. He noticed April shooing Tsubaki from the corner of his eye. Good to know she picked up on his aversion to touch, she was really observant.

As they finally reached the exit the twins heard the noises of weapons hitting the bots. They looked at each other, they knew who this was. The ones beating up these bots were their counterparts.

From the sound of it, they were doing a good job too. That was until a sword was close to the humans. Stopping right in front of Daiki.

If the weapons were anything to go by, this was his own counterpart’s sword. Daiki made a quick decision. These turtles had themselves handled but he wouldn’t let his brothers have all the fun in kicking ass. Interdimensional or not.

“DAIKI!”, yelled April as Daiki charged in.

Apparently, the Foot had put a few upgrades on their bots. They were a little harder to beat. Not by much, but it was noticeable. Especially when one of them tripped Leo and in turn made him drop his swords. One of which slipped all the way to the exit of the alley. Before any of his brothers could react, Leo felt a weight on his shell, as if someone had stepped on it.

Well, someone did. One of the twins. He was standing in front of Leo, sword in hand ready to fight.

Was this guy that stupid? He surely doesn’t know how to use a katana, does he? His stance looked too comfortable for that to not be the case.

As Leo was still processing what happened, Donnie was by his side, helping him up again.

“You alright?”, asked his brother.

“Yeah.”

The human in front of them turned around, looking at them, smiling. Why was he smiling at them? No human smiled like that at them, at least not at first. His smile looked like he was happy to see them as if they were family that was finally reunited. Before the boy could say anything, he was smacked on the back of his head. When did the other one get here?

“Are you stupid?”, asked the other boy.

“What? I couldn’t just let them get hurt!”

“They obviously had it handled. They took care of all the bots.”

“Yeah, but I saved this guy’s butt!”

“Sigh. You did, but they clearly didn’t want us here. Considering that April and Casey dragged us out!”

“I know.”

“You know what? I don’t care anymore.”

That was a lie. Tsubaki cared very much, He knew his twin could handle himself, but he was more worried about getting too close to their counterparts. He hadn’t had enough time to know what would happen If they meet them, or worse touched them. And if he was honest, while he was curious about them, he didn’t want to figure out if his brothers would vaporize if they as much as saw their counterparts.

“Uhh.”

The twins turned to look at the turtle to their left. He was wearing an orange mask – Mikey.

“Hi, I’m Daiki, this is Tsubaki. You’re April and Casey’s friends aren’t you?”

The turtle looked at them in awe. Was he amazed by them? Why?

“Yeah, we are! I’m Mikey!”

“Nice to meet you, Mikey!”, said Daiki.

“Are they blind?”, asked one of the other turtles.

“Not that I know, dude.”, answered Casey.

“We aren’t blind. We are well aware that you four are turtles.”, said Tsubaki.

“Why aren’t you freaking out? Everyone freaks out when they see us!”, said, who the twins assumed to be Donnie, judging by the color of his mask and the staff on his shell.

The twins looked at each other, back at the turtles and laughed a little.

“We’ve seen weirder. Like way weirder.”, said Daiki as he handed the sword back to his presumed counterpart. He made sure to slightly touch him, he needed to know if he would vaporize. Luckily he didn’t.

His brother just nodded in agreement.

There was a pregnant pause. This was awkward. Leo’s counterpart decided to break the silence.

“We need to take you to our Sensei.”

“Yeah, no. We need to get home. Our brother is already mad at us.”, said Daiki.

“Sneaking out probably didn’t make it better.”, added Tsubaki.

“But we-“, Leo was cut off by Tsubaki.

“We can join these two after school tomorrow, because if we don’t get home soon, Soma will notice and then he’ll ground us.”

“Your brother can ground you?”, asked April.

“Yes.”, said the twins.

Leo didn’t want them to leave, they needed to get them to Sensei, but if they forced them to come, they probably wouldn’t see them again. And now that the cat was out of the back, he and his brothers surely agreed. They wanted to have these two as friends. Leo also wanted to know how Daiki was able to handle a sword like that, normal humans can’t do that.

“Fine, you come over with April and Casey tomorrow.”

“Great. By the way, what are your names? You never introduced yourselves.”, said Daiki.

Mikey took it from there, pointing at each of his brothers and introducing them.

“Well, it was nice meeting you, but we really have to leave if you want to see us tomorrow.”, said Daiki while he walked towards the exit of the alley. Tsubaki just waved at them.

“See you tomorrow!”, yelled Mikey. He was excited to see them again. He had made two new friends in one day!

“There’s something weird about them.”, said Donnie.

“Really? They acted like we were the most normal thing they ever saw.”, said Raph.

“Isn’t it exciting! We made new friends!”, said Mikey, he was jumping up and down in excitement. He still had a lot of energy to get out of his system.

“We should head back, we need to tell Sensei.”, said Leo.

“You mean, you need to tell him.”, said Raph, smirking.

“What? Why me?”

“You’re the leader, it’s your job.”, said Donnie.

Leo just sighs, there was no winning now.

“Let’s just go.”

Getting back to the budling was easy. Getting inside without their big brother noticing was a lot harder. Just as they snuck inside they noticed how dark it was. Their brothers surely weren’t asleep, were they?

The two were startled when suddenly the lights turned on. They were face to face with their big brother, who was back to his usual self.

“AHHH!”, yelled the twins.

“Where were you?!”

“We didn’t meet our counterparts – he said convincingly.”

“Donnie!”

“I panicked!”

“You met the uses, without me?”, complained Shoyo. He had turned the lights on and walked over, also back to his normal turtle self.

The twins returned to their usual selves and began explaining everything that happened to them just a little while ago.

Soma just lets out an exhausted sigh. He had been incredibly stressed since they got here.

“Good news is, we can meet them no problem. And touch them too!”, said Daiki.

“Touch them? When did you – When you gave him his sword!”

“Yup. We're all good!”

“Does that mean I can meet other me? I’ve been texting with him!”, said Mikey.

“You what?”, asked his brothers.

“Didn’t tell you?”

“No.”

“Oh, oops.”

“So, what are we gonna do now?”, asked Soma.

“We’ll go with April and Casey after school tomorrow. They’ll probably take us to their lair. We’ll think of something after that.”, said Tsubaki.

“Speaking of Casey. I don’t think he’s CJ’s counterpart. I think he’s Cassandra.”, said Daiki.

“Really?”, asked Soma.

“Now that you mention it. He yelled and charged in after Leo decided to intervene.”

“Sounds like Cass, alright.”, said Mikey.

“Now, Miguel, did you make dinner?”, asked Daiki.

“Yup, but it’s cold.”

“Aww man. Can you – “

“I’m not reheating it. You should have been here on time to get a warm meal.”

The twins frowned. They were really looking forward to a warm meal, but alas they shall live with the consequences of their actions.

After eating and getting ready to sleep, they noticed their brothers in a nest, the younger one fast asleep in the other’s arms.

“You built a nest.”, said Tsubaki.

“Yeah, we thought all of us could use it. It’s the closest thing we have to home, isn’t it? Now get in.”

The twins quickly joined their brothers. The closeness did remind them of home. While meeting their counterparts was fun, they really missed their home and family. They figure this out soon.

Chapter Text

Daiki woke up to a surprisingly empty nest. Where had his brothers gone? He reluctantly got out of the very comfortable nest, making his way to their makeshift kitchen.

While they were out yesterday, Soma and Shoyo had gotten a few kitchen appliances. Shoyo refused to let them live off of takeout for longer than two days. Daiki had to agree with him no matter how delicious the pizza was. As the team medic, he knew how important a balanced diet was after all.

As he got closer to the kitchen he started to smell something delicious. Shoyo was making breakfast. He sat down on one of the old chairs they had found and was handed a steaming cup of tea by his oldest brother. He chirped a little to thank his brother.

As he slowly sipped his tea, he began to notice what exactly was going on. His little brother was making pancakes and apparently had something in the oven. Tsubaki was tipping away on the computer he had stolen borrowed from school and drinking his coffee. Probably his second or third cup judging by how awake he was already. Soma on the other hand was next to Shoyo packing something into boxes He got up to look at what Soma was doing.

“What are you doing?”

“Making you guys some sandwiches for school.”

“We could just get something from the cafeteria.”

“Do you really want to? Dee told me about the food there. He could barely eat any of the stuff. And I like to think my sandwiches are pretty good.”

“They are, thank you. How come we have lunch boxes by the way? In our colors none the less?”

“After Donnie texted us that you planned to keep the act up, we got some stuff for you.”, Shoyo chimed in.

“You guys just wanted to spend all the money I got from those millionaires.”, said Tsubaki not looking up from the computer.

“Maaybeee”, said Shoyo.

“Who’d blame us? We’re poor turtles, those rich guys can’t even spend all that money.”, said Daiki.

Soon enough Shoyo placed some pancakes in front of Daiki, he was the only one that hadn’t eaten yet. After he had finished eating and throwing his plate away. They hadn’t found reusable plates and cutlery while out shopping. They had to get disposable ones.

They got ready to leave, the twins have to go to school soon. After the four activated their cloaking brooches, Soma handed the twins their new bags.

Tsubaki had a purple backpack. There were a few patches on it, but most of them were science related. There was also one that look a lot like Shelldon. Shoyo obviously had put them on there. He had been putting patches on everything he could find, he also picked up making patches. Sewing had helped in getting his hands back to usual and it just kinda stuck.

Daiki had gotten a blue tote bag. Instead of patches, Shoyo had drawn a few things on it: twin Katana in a cross, a few test tubes with colorful liquids in them and his old Odachi in the corner.

“Why the bags?”, asked Daiki.

“You are going to school, you kinda need them.”, said Soma, “And Mikey got bored and wanted to make them pretty.”

“I noticed. Thanks, Angelo.”, said Tsubaki.

“Yeah, thanks, Miguel. I’m taking this home with us!”, said Daiki.

“You’re welcome. I made some for Raph and me too!”

The youngest showed the twins his own backpack. It was a bright orange with brown accents. Much like the other two bags it was customized. It had a sunset painted on the left side while the right side had three small humans and four small turtles, clearly the four of them and their human siblings.

Looking over to Soma, he also had a new bag. He had a red sling bag. The bag itself only had a small patch saying ‘Like A Boss!’. The handle however was painted black and had the same turtles and humans that were on Shoyo’s bag stitched on.

Wow, Shoyo must have been really bored to have made all of that.

Before they left, Shoyo handed Daiki another lunchbox.

“I’m pretty sure we have enough food.”, said Daiki.

“You do. I made brownies, they’re for our counterparts. You better share with everyone! I’ll know if you don’t.”, said Shoyo.

“Will do!”, Daiki said while packing away the lunchbox.

“Let’s go. We don’t want the twins to be late for school!”, said Soma.

Before they got to school, the four brothers ran into April and Casey. They talked a little before Soma and Shoyo bid their goodbyes, they planned on looking around for some clues to get home. Not that the two humans knew that.

“How come those two aren’t in school with us?”, asked April.

“Soma is already done with school and Shoyo got a scholarship for an online school with an art major.”, said Tsubaki. They had added the little piece to their fake story after meeting their counterparts. They might ask questions after all.

“That explains it. Have you guys told them anything?”, asked April.

“Nope, just told them we’d hang out with you guys after school!”, said Daiki.

Now they just had to get through the school day. What a joy.

To say that April and Casey were surprised was an understatement. Normal people didn’t jump into the sewers without hesitation, yet Tsubaki and Daiki did. They didn’t even question it.

The walk to the lair was like it always was for them. Casey and April had fallen in a rhythm and the twins went along with it well enough.

“Is there anything you want to warn us about?”, asked Daiki.

“Well, there a giant rat?”, offered Casey.

“Cool, what else?”

“Not sure what would surprise you two at this point.”, said April.

“To be honest, not a lot of things surprise us.”, said Tsubaki.

They finally reached the lair. Time to get the boys and Master Splinter. April took off to the dojo to get them. It was time for their training.

The boys meanwhile sat down their bags and Daiki pulled out the container Shoyo had given him earlier, it took everything in him to not eat the brownies inside. He was surprised Tsubaki didn’t take his bag and eat them. Then again neither wanted to face the wrath of their little brother if he ever found out they didn’t share.

Soon enough April returned with the four turtles and a big rat mutant, this world's Splinter. He was a lot bigger than the one the twins were used to.

Daiki opened the container and said: “We brought something.”

“You had brownies this whole time?!”, yelled Casey.

“Yes, Shoyo made them for everyone, he wanted us to share with our friends.”

“What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”

“It will. You don’t want to meet Dr. Delicate Touch, do you?”, said Tsubaki,

“Who?”, asked Mikey who was already reaching for a brownie.

“Let’s hope you never find out, buddy.”, said Daiki.

Mikey looked at Daiki as if to ask permission for a brownie. Daiki smiled and gave him one. The turtle in orange promptly took a bite.

“These are sooo good!”

“Of course, they are, our little brother made them.”, said Tsubaki as he took a centrepiece of the brownies, he never liked the edge pieces.

“Mikey! You don’t know if we can trust them!”, yelled Raph.

“But these are really good!”

“That may be true but we shouldn’t eat them until we know we can trust them.”, said Leo.

“But those brownies smell really good.”, said Donnie.

The older three would be lying if they said they didn’t want some as well.

Splinter cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention to himself.

“You must be Tsubaki and Daiki, I am Splinter. You-”

“Nice to meet ya’”, Daiki cut the mutant off.

“If I were to guess, you are about to tell us, that we can’t tell anyone about you.”, said Tsubaki bored.

“Yes, humans usually don’t take kindly to things they don’t understand.”

“That’s fair, but you don’t have to worry about us telling anyone.”, said Daiki while offering the adult one of the brownies.

Splinter turned to his sons only to see all four eating their own brownies. Either these are really good or his boys trust these two. He took the brownie and took a bite. Their little brother was an amazing cook.

“We will take your word. Don’t break our trust.”

“We won’t!”, said Daiki.

While his brother was handing out the brownies and talking to Splinter, Tsubaki pulled out the computer. He had been trying to figure out why exactly these robots had attacked them and who they were. Wait! He could ask his counterpart, couldn’t he? Surely he’d know.

“Do you guys know who attacked us last night? I’ve been trying to figure that out but I can’t find anything.”

“Makes sense, the Foot doesn’t really want people to know about them.”, said Donnie.

“The Foot?”, asked Daiki, “What do they want from us?”

“You think we know.”, said Raph.

“You know about the Foot?”, asked Leo.

“More or less, heard out fair share about them.”, said Daiki. He almost forgot that civilians shouldn’t know about the Foot Clan, no matter the reality.

“Where have you heard those stories?”, asked Splinter. He was slowly growing more hopeful about them being Hamato, he hoped he and his sons, and Miwa too, weren’t the only ones left.

“We mostly got them from our dear papa. He told us stories growing up. We thought they were just that, stories.”, said Tsubaki.

“We are also Hamato. Sensei’s name is Hamato Yoshi. You don’t happen to be part of the same Hamato Clan? Do you?”, said Leo hopefully. Sue him for wanting more family, well cousins.

“I mean our last name is Hamato, but our dad left his family when he was young. He hasn’t had any contact with them in years.”, said Daiki.

“What is your father's name?”, asked Splinter.

“Which one?”

Everyone looked a little confused.

“Really Daiki? His name is Lou. As for what this idiot said, we have two dads.”, said Tsubaki.

“I don’t anyone by that name, but I never met every member of the Clan, many left a few years before…”, said Splinter.

“You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”, said Daiki.

Splinter smiled at the boy. Somehow these two were very familiar to him. He didn’t quite know why, but he felt like he had met them before. Maybe he had met their father in their youth.

Soon enough Splinter left the teens on their own.

They started talking, well more like the turtles’ asked questions and Daiki answered them. Tsubaki was sitting to the side tipping away on the computer. He was trying to find out more about the Foot. Somehow he stumbled upon an article about someone named Baxter Stockman going missing, he’d look into that later. He was curious about what that brat’s counterpart got into.

Much to his dismay, Mikey spotted something picking out of Tsubaki’s pocket. The turtle snatched it. Tsubaki was a little too slow to stop him.

“What is it?”, asked Mikey.

“None of your concern. Give it back!”

“What’s the worst that can happen, dude?”

“A lot! Give it to me, before you press a button you shouldn’t!”

“A button, huh?”

Tsubaki shouldn’t have said that. Mikey started running and trying to find the right button to press. Tsubaki followed him, trying to get ahold of him, Mikey’s older brothers tried to get a hold of him too.

Mikey came to a stop, right in front of Casey, April and Daiki, who had stayed put and pressed a button.

The thing extended and turned into a full-sized Bo. With another press of a button and a chainsaw pooped out of the bottom end. Apparently, he was holding it the wrong way around. Before he could press another button, Tsubaki took the staff out of his hands.

“This is why you should have given it back!”

“I didn’t know you were rebuilding your Tech-Bo.”, said Daiki.

“I am, it’s not finished yet.”

“How did you- Can I- I-“

Tsubaki turned to look at Donnie, he was amazed, to say the least. He was a Donnie alright. Tsubaki was sure they’d get along great.

“Is it a good idea to let him have that?”, asked Casey.

“Seems like a bad idea.”, said April.

“Probably not, but who am I to say anything? He’s older after all.”, said Daiki.

“I’m afraid of what Donnie will do now that he knows that is an option.”, said Leo in concern.

“I like it.”, said Raph.

“Me too!”, said Mikey.

“That’s exactly why I’m concerned.”, said Leo.

Chapter Text

Tsubaki and Daiki had been hanging out with their counterparts for a little while. While their brothers wanted to get to know them as well, they really needed to figure out a way home and why this world's Foot was after them. The twins would help them but they were included in patrol with their counterparts every now and then. Currently, they were on one of the many roofs in New York.

Leo and Daiki had just finished a sparring match. Fighting without his powers was weird, Daiki concluded. It felt off like he wasn’t himself. Tsubaki had the same thought. He had spared with Donnie earlier, using just a Bo, not even his Tech-Bo was just wrong.

“You’re really good!”, complemented Leo.

“You’re not so bad yourself.”, said Daiki.

The two sat down next to the rest of their little group.

Leo looked over to their left only to see Casey and Donnie arguing, again.

“What are they fighting about this time?”, he asked.

“April.”, said Mikey, not looking up from his phone. His oldest brother just sighs.

“Who are you even texting?”, asked Daiki.

“My friend! He’s really cool and-“, he was cut off by Tsubaki.

“He’s texting Shoyo.”

“Shoyo, as in your little brother?”, asked April.

“Yup.”, said Daiki.

“How do you know that?”, asked Raph.

“Shoyo talked about his new friend, he said the guy’s name is Mikey and he really likes turtles.”, said Tsubaki.

“It wasn’t that hard to figure out.”, said Mikey.

Heads turned in his direction.

“You knew?”, asked Leo.

“Yeah, I’m not that stupid.”

“You didn’t say anything when Casey and I first mentioned them.”, said April.

“I figured it out when I was talking to him the next day! He mentioned his brothers’ names!”

“Agreed, what are the chances that there is another set of brothers named after the Renaissance artists?”, said Tsubaki.

As the rest of them continued their conversation, Donnie and Casey kept fighting. They were more focused on each other than anything else.

“By the way, what is their deal?”, asked Daiki.

“Both of them have a crush on April and are rivals.”, said Leo while putting air quotes around rivals.

“You know about this?”, said Tsubaki while turning to April. He was a little confused by why his counterpart would like April, she seemed to view him, all of the really, as brothers. But who was he to judge interdimensional differences? Not like they were the exact same person. Just similar.

“They aren’t exactly subtle.”

Mikey turned to whisper to Daiki.

“One day one of them is gonna end up with April, I know it!”

“Nah, Casey and Donnie are going to be a couple.”

“What makes you say that? They fight all the time.”

“True, but just trust my gut here.”

There was something inherently romantic about their rivalry, but Daiki wouldn’t mention that to Mikey just yet.

“Not sure if I should.”

„Wanna make a bet? If Casey and Donnie end up dating, I win. If literally, anything else happens, you win.” Daiki put out his hand.

Mikey looked at his friend's hand and shook it.

“You got yourself a deal, dude.”

Soma and Shoyo were relatively close to the roof their brothers and their counterparts were relaxing on. They had run into them while they were out and about looking for any clues.

“Can we talk to them?”, asked Shoyo.

“Not yet. Leo and Donnie think it’s best if we kept everything to ourselves. They think the Foot is still after them.”

“I know. They’re betting on the Foot kidnapping them. Which by the way is the stupidest idea they’ve ever had.”

“I don’t like it either. But Raph trusts them.”

The older pet Shoyo’s head.

“Let’s go, we need to go get those parts from the junkyard.”

They headed out. Tsubaki had given them a list with many parts to collect.

The twins knew their brothers had been close. The perks of their ninpo. Their counterparts had been a little antsy while their brothers had been watching them. They knew someone was watching them but could see them. They are good.

Suddenly a girl began to talk.

“You have new friends? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Karai!“, yelled Leo, „what are you doing here?”

Karai? As in Gram Gram? Why was she a teenager?

“I have orders to collect you and your odd friends. They’re Hamato aren’t they?”

“How do you know that? We’ve been here for a week!”, yelled Daiki in surprise.

Before he could receive an answer he was attacked by a foot bot. All of them were. Usually, foot bots weren’t an issue but the sheer amount of them overwhelmed them. Not to mention that Tsubaki and Daiki were still holding back. They didn’t even have the time to use their ninpo before something was injected into their necks rendering all eight of them unconscious.

While on the hunt for more material, Shoyo stopped mid-motion.

“Mikey, everything okay?”

“No! I don’t feel Donnie and Leo anymore!”

“What?!”

Soma tried reaching out to his little brothers but to no avail. What happened to them?

They left the materials behind and ran towards the roof they had last seen the twins on.

Upon reaching the roof they found no one. Judging by the left behind pizza and soda, something had happened. There’s no way any of them would leave perfectly good pizza on a roof.

“We need to find them!”, said Soma.

“But how?!”

“I- I don’t know. Let’s look for clues first. Maybe they can reach out to us soon.”

“I hope they do…”

Leo slowly woke up. He noticed that he was tied up. What happened?

Right, they’d been ambushed by Karai.

He looked around and saw his brothers as well as his friends tied up alongside him. How were they going to get out of this one?

Luckily Leo wasn’t the only one awake. Well, the others were slowly beginning to wake up as well.

“The fuck was that?”, asked Raph no one in particular.

“Some kind of sedatives.”, said Donnie.

“A drug that works on us? Impressive.”, mumbled Tsubaki.

“Shush, Dee.”, whispered Daiki. His brothers looked surprised as if they hadn’t intended to say that out loud.

Did Leo hear that right? He probably misheard them. They were all drugged until a few minutes ago. They couldn’t be surprised a drug worked on them right? But why would Daiki call Tsubaki Dee? Wouldn’t that nickname work better the other way around?

The twins shared a look and their eyes seemed to glow a little. What was up with Leo today? He was seeing and hearing things. How hard did he hit his head earlier?

Almost as soon as all of them had woken up, Karai walked in again. But she wasn’t alone, she had Stockman and many foot bots with her.

“What do you want from us?”, yelled Daiki.

“You’re Hamato. That should be enough reason to end you.”, said Karai.

“We can’t yet. These two emit the powerful energy I detected. I need to know what it is first.”, said Stockman as he spits on a chocolate bar to eat it.

That’s why he was here then.

“That is just gross! Please don’t make me look at him!”, exclaimed Tsubaki.

The twins looked at each other again and it was almost like they talked to each other. Was twin telepathy really a thing?

“You really want to end us just ‘cause of our last name?”, said Daiki.

“You really should have done that when we were knocked out cold.”, said Tsubaki.

“My father would love to have the honour of killing you!”, Karai yelled at them.

The twins were getting under her skin.

“What are you doing?”, said Donnie.

“Are you stupid?!”, yelled Raph.

“We need to get out, not make them more aggressive!”, Leo said.

The twins decided to ignore their friends and kept mocking Karai.

“What is your goal in this?!”; Karai exclaimed. They really angered her. And rather quickly too.

“We’re buying time.”, said Daiki.

“Buying time? For what?”

“Our brothers of course.”, said Tsubaki smiling menacingly.

The second he had finished a huge glowing red arm destroyed the wall. Making everyone turn to look at the wall. The arm disappeared as soon it appeared.

What just happened?

Chapter Text

Soma and Shoyo never ran faster in their lives. The twins had reached out to them. Apparently, they had been drugged. Which in itself was rather surprising. Draxum had made them immune to most drugs. It was really annoying because they were immune to most medicine as well. That had led to Daiki learning about medicine and ending up creating medicine that worked for them but would likely kill a human. To think someone used the same drug on both the mutants and the two humans that were with them was a little terrifying. Not to mention that whoever drugged them likely thought that the twins were human as well. Maybe the drugs of this universe were just made differently and worked because of that. That was a more calming thought than the first idea they had.

They ran towards the building that the brothers were inside of. They stood in front of the massive door.

They could sneak in like the ninja they are or they could do it the fun way. The two just glanced at each other. They’d always choose the fun way. These people deserved the mayhem they were about to cause for taking their brothers. No one gets away with that.

Soma smashed in the front door. They were immediately greeted by bots. Tsubaki had called them foot bots, very creative.

Taking care of these bots was rather easy. Some just kept smashing them, throwing them into walls and he even just stomped some of them. Shoyo just began picking up foot bots and threw them at the other foot bots. Both were working on getting their frustration out.

Shoyo and Soma continued doing their thing and slowly got closer to their brothers. As they got closer and closer they couldn’t help but notice the two mutants. A fish with prospect legs and a dog demon. They’d need to look out for them.

When they finally stood in front of the last door they needed to get through. Soma decided to just activate his ninpo and smash his way through. Their original plan was far from working anyway. So why not go completely off-plan and just make it more fun?

“It’s more of that energy!”, yelled Stockman, flying closer to the source of the energy. He was quickly hit in the head by a red hand again. Just what is that?

“Hi guys!”, yelled Daiki.

The smoke from the destroyed wall and door cleared and revealed two boys. Apparently Soma and Shoyo from what the turtles could tell.

“How do you always end up in these situations?”, asked Soma while he and Shoyo walked over to them.

The resident turtles looked past them and saw the sheer amount of destroyed foot bots behind the man-made hole. Just how powerful are these guys?

Tsubaki glanced at his younger brother and asked:” Can you get us out of these?”

The boy just moved his hand a little and his eyes began to glow, seconds later the chains around them began to move, releasing them.

The second they were free Karai jumped in and kicked the boy out of the way. Shoyo was quick enough to dodge her when she tried to attack him again, landing next to his brothers. Weirdly enough, Daiki wasn’t with them.

A second later Daiki seemed to be back and began handing them their weapons. Somehow he had gotten his hand on their weapons within seconds of being untied too now. Where did he even find them? They looked at him surprised.

“Don’t question it.”, he just said while smiling.

Karai returned to stand in front of them. She glanced behind herself and smirked.

“You are clearly outnumbered. Surrender and no one gets hurt”

Behind her was not only an army of foot bots but also Fishface and Rahzar. Stockman was still on the floor where Soma had thrown him when he tried to get closer.

Everyone got ready to fight. They would never surrender. Tsubaki walked to stand in front of them.

“You think we will just surrender because of some mutants and that pathetic excuse of tech you call robots? That are tied up by the way.”

“What?”, yelled the girl. She turned around and saw every single foot bot lifted up in the air, tied up with strange glowing chains. This irritated Karai even more. She really didn’t like these guys, they kept pushing her buttons. Now it was her turn to agitate them.

“What are you going to do about it?! Hack into the foot bots? As if!”

“Scoff. Are you underestimating me? ME? Put these pathetic things down, little brother.”

Shoyo snapped his fingers and the bots fell down. All of them crashed to the ground and you heard the sound of breaking metal. Most of them, if not all of them, probably lost a limb or something.

Tsubaki summoned a purple hologram in front of himself and began tipping on it. Leo could see Donnie practically drooling from here.

“WOAH! How did you do that, dude?”, yelled Mikey exited.

“That’s so metal, dude.”, complimented Casey.

“How- how is that- I need to-“, Donnie began to ramble.

“Amazing.”, said April.

“The fuck is he doing?”, asked Raph.

“Do all of them have powers?”, wondered Leo.

They were already impressed by the twins’ capabilities, but now? They were purely amazed. These guys were truly something else. Not to mention their brothers too. They were glad these guys are their friends, having them as enemies sound absolutely terrifying.

While everyone, safe for his brothers just stared at Tsubaki the foot bots, that could still function after rough fall to the ground, began fighting each other and the screen hologram disappeared again.

“My job is done. Have fun fixing them.”

“WHAT? Stockman! Turn them off!”, Karai yelled.

The fly mutant immediately began trying to turn them off, but with the number of bots, that could take hours.

“We going to leave now then.”, said Soma, getting ready to just go out of the door.

Rahzar wouldn’t let him though. He went to attack Soma but that same red glow stopped him. It fully engulfed Soma’s arm, as if it was an extension of his own arm. He help Rahzar in a tight grip and threw him across the room.

Fishface looked up at Soma and instead of fighting him just backed off a little. He was a bad guy, not an idiot.

But as he backed off glowing chains wrapped themselves around him, lifting him off the ground. Seconds later he was thrown into a wall. The chains retracted from the fish mutant and made their way back to their presumed owner, Shoyo, who just smiled at the mutant. It wasn’t a nice smile, it was the kind someone who’s pissed, royally pissed, gives you. It’s official, Fishface is terrified of a kid. This kid is tiny but mighty. And he’s pretty sure he’s the most powerful of them all.

Shoyo was trying not to go full Dr. Delicate Touch on them. He saw how easy the bots were taken care off, he didn’t want to kill someone, the mutants here couldn’t take as much damage as the ones back home.

Karai looked around; she was on her own now. She really should call Shinigami to help her with these dumbasses. The only reason she’d call her, was not because she missed her girlfriend friend or anything.

“I cannot let you leave out of this door!”, she stood in front of said door.

“We can work with that!”, said Daiki as he lifted one of his swords.

He swung it and a blue portal appeared on the ground. They were rather familiar with portals but these looked much more chaotic than the ones from the Kraang, but also friendlier.

Daiki jumped in, closely followed by Shoyo who was pulling Mikey in with him. Casey took that as the go-ahead and jumped in. Tsubaki was standing next to Donnie and kicked Donnie into the portal before jumping in himself. This seemed to be safe at least. Before Leo, Raph and April could work up the courage to jump in as well, Soma picked them up.

“Don’t worry, Raph’s got you!”

And he jumped in with them in his arms. The three were much more focused on his choice of words than the jump into the portal.

Did Soma talk in the third person and refer to himself as Raph or was he not making sense?

As the portal was closer, Karai looked at the three mutants behind her and glared.

“Not a word to my father.”

“Master Shredder will never know about this.”, said Stockman.

The other just nodded. They would be killed for keeping this from the Shredder but they really didn’t want to fight these kids ever again. They had freaky powers and were too strong. They much rather deal with the turtles.

They had to a lot of fixing to do now. Great.

They came out of the portal. They were home, back in the all-familiar lair.

“WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!”, yelled both Raph and Casey.

“Language!”, came from Leo as well as Soma.

Everything was just chaotic for a short while, in the meantime, Master Splinter walked in to see what the commotion was. He was quite surprised to see two more humans than what he had expected.

“Can anyone explain what’s going on?”, asked the rat mutant.

“Woah, he’s tall.”, said Shoyo.

“I know right?”, agreed Daiki.

“We uh- We got kidnapped and then the twins’ brothers saved us! Then Daiki made a portal and we jumped in and now we're here!”, said Mikey excitedly.

Splinter looked at his youngest confused, unsure if he was telling the truth or if this was another one of his elaborate stories.

Leo picked up on his sensei’s confusion and said: “Mikey is telling the truth. We’re sure you four will give us an explanation, right?”

Leo looked at the four sternly.

“I have a different question before that.”, April said gaining everyone’s attention, “Soma, you said something odd before we jumped into the portal. I’m sure Raph and Leo also heard you. You called yourself Raph. I’m pretty sure weren’t talking about Raph over here.”

Soma began to look nervous. Did his habit of talking in the third person really screw everything up? His little brothers looked at him.

“Really?”, said Shoyo.

“We came up with this whole cover story and you- argh!”, complained Tsubaki.

Cover Story?

Daiki just began laughing at his brother’s misery.

“Raph’s sorry.”, Soma said.

“We know.”, said his brothers.

“How about we explain while Donnie and I get everyone checked up? Who knows what they did to us while we were unconscious.”, Daiki suggested.

Notes:

I actually wanted to include some Dr. Delicate Touch and overprotective Raph, but I didn't know how, let's just say they got most of their anger out while fighting, I mean destroying, the foot bots on their way in.

Did any of you expect this kind of reveal?

And some good news! I finished writing the whole story and it’s shorts! I’ll update every other day from now on!

Chapter Text

What kind of explanation could these guys have? Everything that happened within the last- What, 30 minutes? Was confusing, to say the least.

What had the twins all lied about, they felt betrayed. The twins knew about them and where their home is, which in itself was a big sign of trust. Did the twins not trust them?

Donnie checked on Leo and Daiki checked on Casey. Leo and Casey sat on the couch while the other two bandaged up every wound they had, as well as check their vitals. The entire room was filled with an awkward silence.

“We didn’t mean to lie to you. We just didn’t know how to tell you.”, said Daiki after he finished checking on Casey and moved on to the check on April. Donnie wasn’t happy about letting him check his friends after he lied but he would much rather check his brothers himself.

“Well just be honest!”, complained Raph.

“You likely wouldn’t have believed us. You probably won’t even now.”, said Tsubaki,

“Well start talking!”, said Raph, to him this felt like a whole Karai situation all over again. This is why they can’t trust anyone!

“Sigh. We aren’t exactly from around here and I don’t mean we're from Japan. We’re from a different dimension.”

They all stared at Tsubaki.

“Like Dimension X?”, asked Mikey.

“No idea what that is… We’re from a- what did you call it?”, said Shoyo as he looked to Tsubaki for confirmation.

“The mirror realm, or alternate dimension.”

“A what now?”, asked Casey.

Tsubaki looked at Donnie and asked him: “Have you ever theorized about the multiverse?”

“Yes, I have never found anything to confirm its existence.”

“Congratulations, you have now! Let me introduce myself properly this time. I’m Donatello.”

The room was filled with silence. Instead of waiting for a reaction, Tsubaki began pointing at his brothers.

“Leonardo.”

“The one and only, well not really.”

“Michelangelo.”

“Hi!”

And Raphael.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Again, silence. Until Casey decided to break it.

“You can’t be serious?!”, he yelled incredibly loud.

“Oh, we are buddy.”, said Shoyo, “I can see what you two meant. He’s too loud to be CJ.”

Donnie had finished looking over his brothers, stood up and looked at the dimensional travellers.

“If what you say is true, which I find hard to believe, why are you here?”

He was amazed by the idea that the multiverse could be real, but he wasn’t just going to believe them that easily.

“A kid using a spell too powerful for themselves.”, said Soma.

“Spell?”, asked Mikey.

“Yeah, you know like Mystic.”, said Daiki.

“What the fuck is Mystic?”, asked Raph. He was getting more and more irritated. He usually managed to keep his cursing under control when Splinter was around.

“Language, Raphael.” And that was why.

“Mystic is, well you could say magic. It exists back home and everyone has a little of it. Every living being has some of it. Even humans, though they can rarely use it for spells.”, explained Shoyo.

“You saw how I opened a portal or any of the other stuff we did back there?”, asked Daiki.

“Was that Mystic?”, asked Mikey amazed.

“Yes, we didn’t want to use our powers, we call it Ninpo by the way, because there’s no Mystic in this world, aside from us of course.”, said Tsubaki.

“So, we just have to believe you?”, asked Leo.

“It’s pretty hard to believe.”, said April.

“And unfair, you guys are human and have powers!”, complained Donnie.

The four brothers looked at each other and smirked.

“Who said we are human?”, said Tsubaki.

“Uhh. You are human! Look at you, dude!”, said Mikey.

“Watch and learn buddy.”, said Daiki.

He tapped the gem on his chocker and was surrounded by a blue glow. Seconds later a turtle mutant wearing a blue mask. He still had the same red and yellow markings in the addition of some on his thighs. He also had a tail now. Somehow the mutant still looked like Daiki, but it also looked more, right? Could you say that? It was almost as if this was the first time they saw him. Which it kind of was after all.

“We are mutants, just like you. We just have these handy things.”

He had taken off the chocker and held it out to them.

“A cloaking brooch! Made to hide a yokai, or mutant, in plain sight.”

“You’re telling the truth?!”, yelled Raph.

“Absolutely fascinating!”, Donnie said while trying to get a closer look at the gem. “It looks like any ordinary necklace, yet it can hide your appearance.”

“If you are truly telling the truth, then you lied about not knowing if you’re Hamato.”, said Splinter, he finally decided to chime in.

“Well, kind of? We aren’t technically from the same Hamato Clan, but at the same time we are.”, said Tsubaki.

“Did you lie about your dad? You said his name was Lou.”, said Mikey.

“Nope. He has many names. Splinter, Lou Jitsu or Hamato Yoshi.”, answered Shoyo.

“What about him leaving the Clan?”, asked Leo.

“Oh, he did. We’re not going into the why now, okay?”, said Soma.

“That is fine. It isn’t your story to share after all.”, said Splinter.

“What about your two dads?”, asked Casey.

Everyone turned to look at him.

“What? It’s important.”

“You really have your priorities straight, Jones.”, said Donnie.

“Who said I’m straight.”, Casey mumbled.

Only Donnie seemed to have heard him. “What?”

“What.”, came from Casey.

“Didn’t lie about that either. Draxum, or second dad, gave us these brooches actually.”, said Daiki.

“No offence but who would be with a rat mutant? Wait, is he even a rat mutant?”, asked Casey.

“None taken”, said Splinter. It was a genuine question after all.

“Pops is a rat mutant, he’s a lot shorter than you. Draxum is yokai. He’s also the one that made us.”, said Soma.

“A yokai? Those exist?”, asked Leo.

“Yup.”, said Daiki.

“He made you?!”, yelled Donnie.

“He made the ooze, took papas DNA and put four turtles in. Boom, four mutant turtles.”, said Tsubaki.

“Why would someone do that?”, asked Donnie confused. He was truly worried about someone just making mutants.

Tsubaki was just about to answer the question before his older brother cut him off.

“That’s a story for another time.”

“Soo, you believe us?”, asked Shoyo.

“I guess we have to.”, said Leo.

“Any other questions?”, asked Daiki.

“Yes! What do you three look like?”, asked Mikey.

The other three had yet to deactivate their brooches. Now that Mikey had mentioned it, all of them were curious what they looked like, even Splinter. Daiki looked so different from them. Did all of them have these stripes? If so, how come only Daiki had them when he looked human?

Shoyo was the first one to deactivate his brooch. He, much like his older brother, was surrounded by a blue glow. When they finally got to see a short turtle with an orange mask, the mask tails were tied into neat bow. He didn’t have the same markings as Daiki did, but he did have some. He had dots on his shoulders and thighs. He also had stickers on his plastron. His tail was a little shorter than Daiki’s.

“You look adorable!”, yelled Mikey as he ran to hug his counterpart.

“Thank you! You’re also very cute!”

Mikey looked at the shorter’s plastron and remembered something. Before he said anything he ran to his room and came back shortly after. He had his skateboard in hand.

“Is this yours?”, he asked Shoyo while showing him the bottom of the skateboard.

On it were many stickers, including the one Mikey had found a week ago.

“That’s the one I lost when he got here!”

“I knew it was important!”

“Good to know where it ended up.”, said Tsubaki gaining the attention of everyone. Looks like he was next.

After the blue glow died down, they saw a turtle with a similar build to Daiki. His mask was purple but compared to his brothers his mask covered his forehead as well. The mask tails were short, they looked like he had cut them shorter. He also had drawn-on eyebrows on his mask. Odd. On top of his head were his goggles. He also had markings like his brothers, purple rectangles on his shoulders and thighs. What stood out the most however was the metallic shell on his back. Why would he wear that? A horrible accident? Should they even ask?

“What’s that thing on your back?” Leave it to Casey to ask a potentially offensive question.

“It’s my battel shell! My greatest invention!”, bragged Tsubaki.

It was tech? Not just armour of some kind?

“What can it do?”, asked Donnie.

Tsubaki smiled at him. He never let an opportunity to brag go.

“Many things. It has a jet pack, mechanical arms-“, he was cut off by his twin.

“You guys can geek out later.”

“You never let me shine.”

“Yeah, yeah. You’re up big brother.”

Soma chuckled and deactivated the brooch. Much to everyone’s surprise the figure in front of them was bigger than anyone had anticipated. Soma was big already but as a turtle, he was even bigger. His mask was similar to Tsubaki’s just in red and with longer mask tails. Speaking of those, they were torn, likely from his shell. It was spiky. Unlike his brothers he had no marking, instead he had spikes on his shoulders. He also had a snaggle tooth. His tail was massive. It looked like it was too big for him, implying he was not done growing yet. He was already tall; he didn’t need to grow more.

Everyone looked at Raph, anticipating him to be upset about the height difference. He looked far from angry. He was smiling.

“How tall are you?”, asked Raph.

“Like 6' 5" or something.”

“You get to be tall and you’re the oldest? Amazing!”

“I have to ask. Are your different species?”, asked Donnie.

“You look so different from each other.”, agreed April.

“Yup. I’m a red-eared slider, Don over here is a spiny soft shell, Miguel is an ornate box turtle and Raph is an alligator snapping turtle.”, answered Daiki.

“Is that why you wear the battle shell? To protect your soft shell?”, asked Donnie.

Tsubaki nodded.

“Dee, can you-“, began Mikey.

Both Donnie and Tsubaki turned to him.

“That’s going to get confusing. You guys need new nicknames.”

“We can just keep using our fake names.”, said Shoyo.

“I kinda wanna go back to being Leo, ya know?”, said Daiki.

“Agreed.”, said Tsubaki.

“Sorry, Mike.”, said Soma.

“I was so proud of those names. Can I at least decide on the new ones?”

“Sure, Angelo.”, said Tsubaki.

“That’s it! We go by the last half of our names! I’m Angelo, Donnie is Tello and Leo is Nardo! And Raph- uh. Raphie!”

“Works for me.”, said Soma Raphie.

“Now that this is settled, can I talk to both Leonardo’s.”, asked Splinter.

“Why? Did we do something?”, asked Nardo as he and Leo walked over to the adult.

“I just wish to discuss this with the leaders of both teams.”

“Oh, got it.”, he walked over to Raphie and pulled him over. “You’re up boss man.”

Everyone except their brothers looked confused.

“Raph’s the leader, not Nardo.”, said Raphie.

“Very well, follow me.”

After the three left, Angelo walked over to Nardo.

“We should get out stuff.”

“You’re right.”, Nardoo turned to face everyone else, “Wanna help us get our stuff here?”

“Sure, why not.”, said Casey.

Getting everything into the lair was fairly easy thanks to Nardo’s portal. As soon as they had everything in a corner of the lair, the three visitors began moving around the blanket and pillows, building something.

“What are you making?”, asked Mikey.

“A nest. We need a place to sleep.”, answered Angelo.

“Need any help?”, asked April.

“No, we need everything to be exactly how we like it.”, said Tello.

“Got it. Casey and I need to home anyway. I’m guessing we won’t be seeing you in school tomorrow?”

“Nope. I’m not going there ever again.”, said Nardo. Tello nodded in agreement.

After the two humans left, Raphie and Leo came back from their talk with Splinter. The taller turtle b-lined for his little brothers. All of them had taken off their gear, including Tello taking off his battel shell. Raphie was happy to see their nest done. He practically fell into it, taking his brothers with him.

“G’night.”, he mumbled and seconds later he was out cold.

“We’re not getting up anytime soon, night you guys!”, said Nardo.

Everyone wished each other a good night and left to get some shut-eye. Today was exhausting after all.

Chapter Text

Donnie woke up to a delightful smell. What was that? He got out of his bed and put his mask on, he’d worry about his gear later. Walking towards the kitchen the smell got more and more intense. Someone had made breakfast. When he walked in he was first surprised to see his four more mutants aside from his brothers and father. Then he remembered the mess that was yesterday.

He sat down next to his counterpart, that was weird to think about. Shortly after he sat down, he got handed scrambled eggs. He immediately began to dig in. Those were probably some of the best scrambled eggs he ever had. He looked up and noticed Angelo cooking. He had made them the snacks the twins always brought, didn’t he? He was an amazing cook. Maybe he could teach Mikey a few tricks. Mikey was by far the best cook out of all of them, but this Mikey was on another level and Donnie was sure Mikey agreed. He wouldn’t be surprised if both orange-themed turtles would make dinner today.

After an eventful breakfast, they all split up, wanting to get to know their counterparts more. Donnie knew Tello already, but he had a few questions for the soft-shell turtle.

Donnie led the other mutant into his lab, they had been in there before but somehow this time it felt like Donnie had to prove himself.

“Tello? Can I ask you a few questions?”

“Sure. What do you want to know?”

“What exactly does you Mystic do? We only saw you use that hologram screen.”

“Mystic Tech. I can create everything I desire out of Mystic energy.”

“Are they solid?”

“Kind of? They have mass when I attack but when they revive hits they aren’t solid unless I use them to block.”

“Can you make anything?”

“If I know how to build the real deal then yes.”

“Mystic powers are fascinating. Do you even make regular tech?”

“Of course. Mystic is fun, but building actual tech is much more fun. Would you give up building your tech?”

“No, but it would make some things a lot easier.”

“It does, but where’s the fun in easy.”

“True.”

“Now, shall us geniuses start our work? We still need a portal home!”

Donnie and Tello began to work on trying to figure out the portal.

“Anything yet?”, asked Donnie.

“Nope, nothing.”

“You think we should ask Nardo? He has portals.”

“No, his aren’t interdimensional ones. Angelo has those.”

“Wait really? How come you’re still here then?”

“Angelo’s powers can be too much for him.”

“Like he can’t control them?”

“No, far from it. He easily has the best control out of all of us. He has, as Draxum out it, too much power for his body to handle. He opened a portal once. He almost disintegrated.”

“What? No wonder you’re not letting him get you guys home. If- If you don’t mind me asking, how did you stop him from… disappearing?”

“Raphie and I helped and took part of the force for him.”

Donnie didn’t know what to say about that. He couldn’t help but be concerned about Angelo. This sweet kid almost died and yet was this cheerful.

Both turtles sat in silence, not really ready to work on the portal after that bummer of a conversation. Donnie decided to break the silence.

“You want to keep working on the portal or not?”

“Nah, how about you show me some of your tech instead.”

Donnie smiled, ready to go into a tangent about his tech to someone who’d understand.

“YES! Um- I mean of course. Do you mind telling a bit about yours too?”

“Of course not! When will I ever have an opportunity to talk to someone with as great of a mind as myself?”

“Great minds think alike, huh?”

“Of course!”

The mutants were finally able to talk about their passion to someone without dumbing down everything. They were the only mutant turtle geniuses after all.

Though maybe Tello would be a bad influence on Donnie. He kept telling the taller turtle to just go full mad scientist.

Raph had kidnapped Raphie instantly after breakfast. Well, if you could call it that. Raph took the snapping turtle's hand and dragged him towards the dojo.

The second Raphie had closed the door to the dojo, Raph began attacking him. Did he want to spar? Raphie could do that. Raphie went a little rougher on Raph than he would with his own brothers. He was a Raph he can take a bit more. He still didn’t go all out him the guy. He didn’t want to hurt the smaller turtle.

Apparently, Raph took notice of this and that made him angry. His attacks got more violent and angry. Raphie felt like there was more behind this than just wanting a new sparring partner.

Raphie made a quick decision and let himself fall to the floor. Giving up and letting Raph win. Raph didn’t like that either.

“Get Up!”

“No, you won.”

“I didn’t you gave up!”

“I did.”

“WHY? Why would you give up!”

“Because this isn’t about sparring is it?”

Raph was silent.

“No.”

“You’re a worse liar than Tello.”

“I am not!”

“You totally are. So, what is this really about?”

Raphie sat up and Raph decided to sit down in front of the big turtle.

“How do you do it?”

“Do what?”

“Stay calm?”

“What do you mean?”

“You weren’t angry once since I met you. We’re both a Raphael, so why? Why am I so angry all the time, while you aren’t?”

“Oh, you’re talking about our anger issues.”

“I don’t have- our?”

“Raph has anger issues too.”

“But- you’re not- y’know.”

“Angry? I’m angry a lot too. I just have ways to cope.”

“Do you just lash out at your brothers sometimes?”

"Not anymore. I used to when I was younger, but Raph is a lot stronger than his little brothers and can easily hurt them. I once hit Tello on accident. I hurt him a lot because he has a soft shell. But Raph learned to control his anger and cope with it healthily."

“What do you do?”

“I take it out on a punching bag or I go out to beat up bad guys. But sometimes squeezing something helps too.”

“Squeeze something? Like what?”

“A plushie! You could try that since you already beat up bad guys.”

“I don’t have a plushie. That’s more Mikey’s thing.”

“That’s not good. Come on.”

Raphie stood up and pulled up Raph by the hand. Raph was sure he left the ground for a second. Just how strong was this guy?

Raphie led the smaller one towards the nest. He got inside and began searching for something. Raph stood awkwardly near the nest. He wasn’t sure what to do other than wait for the bigger one to finish whatever he was doing.

Raphie stopped searching and was in front of Raph a second later. Raph looked up at him and saw him smile down at him in excitement. His eyes wandered down a little and he saw what Raphie was looking for. A teddy bear. It was brown with a white snout and a pink bow on its head.

“For you. Her name is Bubsy.”

Raph took the bear into his arms. The bear was incredibly soft. He held Bubsy close to his chest and buried his snout into the soft fabric of the bear.

“Thank you.”, he mumbled. Raphie was barely able to hear him.

A sound came from the kitchen. Mikey and Angelo. Raph was snapped back to reality and ran towards his room. Raphie followed him, unsure if something was wrong. The door was a little too small for Raphie to get inside but only seconds after he entered, Raph came out again. This time without Bubsy.

Before Raphie could ask him Raph already said: “I have an image to uphold.”

“I’m sure your brothers won’t think differently of you because of Bubsy.”

“Maybe not, but Mikey would steal her. She’s mine now.”

“Got it. What do you wanna do now?”

Raph thought for a second. Sparring wasn’t an option, Raphie wasn’t going to go all out.

“Wanna try and beat Mikey’s record on the pinball machine?”

“YES! Let’s go! But before that!”

Raphie quickly wrapped his arms around Raph and hugged him. Raph was surprised by the sudden contact but returned the hug as best as he could while begin trapped in two massive arms. Raph couldn’t help but notice the big turtles tail wagging on the ground. It was kinda cute. Raphie put him down again. That was actually really nice. Tello and Nardo hadn’t been lying when they said their big brother gave the best hugs ever.

It took Raph thirty minutes to break Mikey’s record. Raphie was cheering him on the whole time.

Maybe having a bigger, softer version of you was nice. And not just because of his size and strength.

Chapter Text

After they ate breakfast, Leo had asked Nardo to join him. Leo wanted to show him something. Nardo happily agreed. They went to Leo’s room. The red-eared slider hadn’t been in his room before. It was far from what he had expected. There were movie posters on the wall as well as drawings. The drawings looked old and like children had made them. They were likely from when Leo and his brothers were still tots. Had he kept them? That’s just cute.

“Who’s on the posters?”, asked Nardo.

“You don’t know Captain Ryan?”

“Nope, should I?”

“YES! He’s the main character of the best show ever! Space Heroes!”

“Never heard of it.”

“How did you never hear about Space Heroes?”

“Different dimension and all. It probably doesn’t exist back home. What is it about?”

Leo began to ramble about his favourite show. How much he loved It and what was amazing about it.

“Sorry- I got a little carried away.”, Leo said sheepishly.

“Don’t worry. It’s nice to see you loosen up a bit. By the way that show. It reminds me of Jupiter Jim. Maybe they are like, counterparts!”

“Uh.. thanks, I guess. What is Jupiter Jim about?”

Now it was Nardo’s turn to go to great lengths about his favourite movie franchise.

“And we even met his actor.”

“You met the actor? I wish I could meet Captain Ryan’s voice actor.”

“Sometimes it’s better to not meet your heroes, trust me. The guy had a few screws loose, he tried to kill us. But then again meeting Lou Jitsu wasn’t that bad, well finding out who he really was.”

“Lou Jitsu? You mentioned that name before.”

“Yeah, our pops. He used to be an actor before he got mutated.”

“Really? That is so cool!”

“We didn’t know he was Lou Jitsu until like two years ago though. He just showed us the movies growing up. It’s how we learned everything we know. Almost everything at least.”

“You were taught with movies? Really?”

“Yup. We picked that up pretty quickly.”

“How? Aren’t most movies really inaccurate when fighting?”

“Probably, but Pops was in them and he was trained to be a ninja.”

“Why didn’t he just teach you directly then?”

“No idea. He probably wanted to make it more fun. Maybe he didn’t want us growing up with the same pressure as him.”

“Pressure?”

“Uh, you probably don’t have the whole destiny thing, do you? With the Shredder being a human and all."

"What does the Shredder have to do with any of that?”

“Back home, the Shredder isn’t human. Oroku Saki was possessed by the dark amour and turned him into the Shredder. His daughter trapped both of them in the Twilight Realm for like 500 years. Since then, the Hamato Clan has been watching out for the Shredder's return.”

“His daughter? You mean Karai?”

“Yup, she’s our Gram Gram.”

“She isn’t the Shredder's real daughter, she’s Master Splinter's daughter, Miwa. He thought she died a long time ago. She believes the Shredder is her father.”

“That’s messed up.”

“Wait- If your Karai is your Gram Gram and she’s the Shredders daughter, are you related to the Shredder?”

“Huh, I guess. We should probably call him Gramps now.”, Nardo chuckled.

“That is so weird. So, you have to fight your grandpa?”

“We did. We took care of it a good year ago.”

“You beat the Shredder?”

“Yup. We destroyed the amour, freed Oroku Saki from it and he could reunite with his daughter. They could both move on.”

“Move on… Are they… dead?”

“Yeah.”

“I-I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t worry. Now, enough of this sad talk! I really want to see this Space Heroes show for myself!”

Leo was more than happy to change the subject. He pulled out his VHS tapes and told Nardo to follow him. They were quickly seated in front of the Television and began to watch their show.

Leo was invested in his rewatch, he had lost count of them. Nardo meanwhile was more focused on Leo. He finally looked more his age. The entire time Nardo had known him he was stiff and serious, as if he was trying to impress someone. Was he trying to do that? Would Nardo have been like that if he was the oldest brother and the leader? Sure, he and Raphie had agreed that while Nardo works better under pressure, Raphie was just more used to it. He could have just told these turtles the truth but he didn’t really feel like being the leader right now. Nardo would often just go to Raphie and tell him to be the leader for a while again. They worked better like this, splitting the pressure of being the decision-maker.

No matter the reason, Nardo liked Leo better like this. He was sure Leo’s brothers liked this better too. Who wouldn’t he was fun to be around and he laughed at Nardo’s jokes!

The two orange turtles had decided to brainstorm ideas for dinner. While Angelo was appalled by some of Mikey’s horrendous ideas, he couldn’t really blame him for an odd taste. Imagine what Angelo’s taste would be if he didn’t get to have pizza for 15 years.

“And you really ate pizza for the first time on your fifteenth birthday?”

“YES! Best birthday of my life!

“I can’t imagine what life would be like if I hadn’t gotten to eat pizza.”

“I don’t want to not have pizza either, dude.”

They went back to thinking about dinner. Then Angelo remembered something.

“Hey, Mikey?”

“Yeah?”

“Didn’t you say you have a cat? You know, in the chat?”

“Oh yeah!”

He jumped out of his seat and walked over to the fridge. He opened the freezer. Why would a cat be in the freezer?

“Meet Ice Cream Kitty!”

“Oh mi gosh! She’s adorable!”

“I know, right? She was stray and then got into some mutagen.”

“I just want to eat her up, literally!”

Angelo pet the cat and she meowed, happy to meet a new friend. After playing with her for a little while Mikey put her back into the freezer to keep her from melting.

“Now I have a question, dude.”

“Shoot!”

“You said you have a little brother. Aren’t you the youngest of your brothers?”

“Yes and no. Between the four of us yes, but we also have a little brother, CJ. He is a little younger than me, so I’m his big brother!”

“What’s it like? Being an older brother?”

“It’s nice. CJ doesn’t know a lot about being a kid and I take him on adventures through New York.”

“Sounds nice, being the big bro for once.”

“It is, but being the youngest is also nice. You can get away with a lot more because they don’t expect it.”

“Like what?”

“I don’t share my secrets. Raphie would have a heart attack.”

The two laughed. They had hit it off while texting over the phone but talking in person was much more fun.

“So, what do you want to make for dinner?”, asked Angelo.

“How about pizza with gummi and-“

“Nope. We are not doing that. What if we make a lasagna? We could ask Casey and April to get some stuff for it before they get here!”

“I never had lasagna. Is it good?”

“Of course, I wouldn’t suggest it otherwise. How about I show you how to make it later than that? Oh, and we could make a salad to go with it!”

“Let’s do it! What do we need?!”

“Okay, so we need-“

Angelo began listing the ingredients they needed for his lasagna. He swore to never share this recipe with anyone, he had worked on it for years to make it perfect. It was hard to make food everyone in his family liked, but aside from pizza, his lasagna was one of the few things everyone liked. So why not share it with an alternate version of himself? Mikey needed to have the opportunity to share this with his brothers as well.

Casey and April had brought along the needed ingredients Mikey and Angelo asked for. April had offered to set the table and help the two turtles make dinner. They happily took her up on it.

Once they had all settled down for dinner, they started to talk.

“Say, you told us you were made, what is the story behind that?”, asked April.

“Nothing too big. Draxum wanted to create soldiers to protect yokai-kind.”, said Angelo.

“Soldiers?”

“Don’t forget he wanted to destroy humanity.”, said Nardo.

“What?”

“Were you not made with that purpose in mind?”, asked Tello.

“No? We were mutated accidentally. Sensei bought us in a pet store and well the mutagen fell on us.”

“He bought you in a pet store? Draxum hatched us.”, said Raphie.

“That’s so cool!”, said Mikey.

“Let me get this straight, you were hatched by Draxum, your second dad, he mutated you to make warriors and destroy humanity. How do think of him as your dad?”, wondered Leo.

“Yeah, how isn’t he a bad guy.”, asked Casey.

“He used to be, but we had a whole redemption arc and all. Thanks to Angelo over here.”, said Raphie.

“He made us, he’s family. And we grew on him.”, said Angelo.

“Wow, your world is so weird.”, said Donnie,” Next you’re going to tell me you have two Caseys.”

“Well…”, said Tello.

“No way…”, came from Leo.

“So metal dude!”

“We call him CJ.”, chimed Angelo in.

“Your little brother?!”, said Mikey surprised, that kid didn’t sound like Casey at all when Angelo talked about him. Well, a little but not like the Casey he knew.

“Their what?”

Notes:

For everyone wondering about the whole thing with Raphie being the leader two chapters ago. He isn’t really. Sometimes Nardo just doesn’t feel like being responsible and being the leader and asks Raphie to do it instead. This resulted in a dynamic in which Raphie takes charge in calmer situations and Nardo is the one to call the shots in more stressful situations.

Chapter Text

“CJ, aka Casey Jones, is our little brother. He’s actually from the future.”, said Nardo.

“My counterpart is from the future? Radical!”

“Not really. Nardo and I came to the conclusion that you are not his counterpart. He is the future son of your counterpart.”, said Tello.

“Wait how does that work? Wouldn’t he erase his existence by coming back in time?”, asked Donnie.

“Technically yes, but CJ was from a- let’s call it bad future- that we stopped from happening. The second future Mikey sent him back in time, an alternate timeline was created. The one we are in.”

“Bad future?”, asked Leo.

“Let’s not talk about that.”, said Nardo, clearly not ready to talk about the events of that mess just yet. They decided not to press the subject any further.

“Then what about the me of your world? Is he just as cool as me?”, asked Casey.

“Well, she certainly is cooler than you.”, said Angelo.

“SHE?!”, yelled the resident turtles and April.

“Cool. Does she like hockey?”, asked Casey, not really bothered by his counterpart’s gender.

“Aren’t you surprised other you is a girl?”, asked April.

“Nah, if Raph can be big in another world, I can be an awesome chick in one.”

“Fair enough.”, said April.

“How did you meet other Casey?”, asked Mikey.

“Angelo met her first. It was his first solo mission.”, said Raphie.

“That you messed up!”, said Angelo.

“Sorry, big man. Cass was still with the Foot back then.”

“She is a Foot crony? She is no Casey Jones!”, yelled Casey.

“Really that is where you draw the line?”, asked Donnie.

“Yes, Casey Jones is no Foot crony!”

“She left the Foot though. She helped us beat the Shredder too!”, said Nardo.

“Yeah, she’s kind of our crazy older sister now.”, said Angelo.

“What is April then? The sane one?”, mocked Tello.

“Never, she can’t go a day being normal, no way she’s sane. She’s been the unhinged one since we met her!”, said Nardo.

“Might be our fault, we’ve known her for about 10 years now.”, said Raphie.

“You’ve known April how long?”, asked Mikey, shocked.

“We’ve known her for most of our lives. She’s our big sister!”, said Angelo happily. His brothers nodded in agreement.

“Do you have a picture of her?”, asked Donnie, “And the Casey’s”

“Sure, let me just get pull one up.”, said Tello while scrolling through his phone.

After a little while he had found a photo and showed it to their counterparts.

The photo was a group photo, including the four turtles. Next to Angelo was a boy, taller than the turtle. Probably CJ. In the front were two girls. One had a buzzcut, while the other one was African American. Who was April and who was Casey? In the back, they could spot two more people, a rat mutant and a tall sheep mutant. Were those Draxum and Splinter?

“Which ones April?”, asked Mikey.

Angelo pointed at the African American girl and said: “That’s April, that’s Cass, her full name is Cassandra, that’s CJ. Oh, and Dad and Draxum are in the back too”

“She’s so pretty.”, said April while looking at her counterpart.

“Cassandra doesn’t look like a Casey.”, said Raph. Not entirely impressed by the girl in the picture. She lacked the Casey Jones insanity.

“One second.”, said Tello. He scrolled a bit more through his phone and showed the other turtle a video of Cass. In the video, she kept jumping into action and fighting the turtles while constantly screaming “FOOT CLAN!”.

“I take it back, that’s a Casey.”

“How do you have that?”, asked Donnie his counterpart.

“I film everything.”

“I love her already!”, said Casey.

The conversation about the differences in their worlds kept going a little longer until Mikey had an idea.

“Dudes. Can we try out your brooch thingies?”

“Wanna see what you’d look like as a human?”, asked Nardo.

The four turtles looked at him excitedly. They just had to know what they looked like!

“Get your dad in here and we get our brooches!”, said Angelo.

Mikey wanted to go first since it was his idea. Angelo gave him his brooch and taped it for Mikey, activating. Seconds later a young human boy stood in front of them.

“You look adorable!”, said Angelo.

“Thank you, dude!”

“You look nice Mikey.”, said Leo.

Mikey turned around and looked at the mirror they had put up. He looked good.

Donnie went next. Tello put the brooch on his counterpart and taped the brooch. The boy in front of them stood just as tall as Donnie always had but his clothes were much more elegant looking than Mikey’s had.

“You look nicer than I thought, Dee.”, said Raph.

“Gee, thanks.”

“Wow the tooth gap is still there.”, said Mikey.

Donnie looked at himself, he was pretty decent looking. He could get used to this. But he felt like something was missing, but what?

As Donnie was taking a good look at himself in the mirror April turned to Casey, she was surprised he hadn’t said anything.

“Casey, you look a little red. You okay?”

I’m fine! Totally fine. Hahaha.”

What was up with him?

Raph decided he was up next and took the brooch from Raphie. He put it on and taped it.

“Never thought you were one for long hair.”, said Donnie.

“If I’m gonna have hair, I’m gonna have nice hair.”

Raph saw himself he looked like the drawing he had made of himself as human years ago. He was never going to tell anyone about that.

Leo went last. He put on Nardo’s brooch and taped it.

“Wow, I should start calling you pretty boy.”, said Raph.

“What?”, asked Leo.

“Leo, you look really pretty.”, said Mikey.

“Uh… thanks?”, said Leo.

HE turned to look at himself. His brothers were right. He was pretty. Leo had hoped he would have looked more like Captain Ryan if he was honest. But this was better. Maybe he liked being pretty. Who said you couldn’t be badass and look pretty doing it?

After the turtles had given the brooches back Raphie turned to Splinter.

“Do you want to try it out too?”

“No, I rather not. But thank you.”

“If you change your mind just ask.”

Splinter nodded and got up to leave the kids on their own again.

Just then Angelo jumped up.

“It’s Mystic! There’s Mystic! And nearby too!”

“Let’s check it out! What is it’s your family, trying to get you home!”, said Mikey.

“We need to hurry then.”, said Splinter.

“You’re coming too?”, asked Leo.

“I have a feeling I should join you.”

Without any further delay, they left the lair, with Angelo leading the way.

CJ fell out of the portal. It worked right? He looked around and saw that everyone had made it out of the portal safely. The portal was still active behind them. They had approximately one hour to find the turtles.

“What’s the plan?”, he asked.

“We split up and try to find the boys, we’ll meet up here in 50 minutes.”, said Draxum.

“Maybe we should take care of those guys first.”, said Cass while pointing towards a roof.

On the mentioned roof there were eleven figures. Four of them looked awfully familiar.

It couldn’t be that easy right?

Chapter Text

It was that easy.

CJ was talked to in a hug by an all too familiar turtle, Mikey. Looking around he saw April and Cass, who had been standing close to each other, begin hugged by the twins. Donnie must have missed them if he was going for a hug. And Raph had both Splinter and Draxum in a death grip.

The boy closed his arms around the orange turtle.

Once the turtles had finally released their victims. The new dimensional visitors took notice of the remaining people on the roof. Four more mutant turtles, a mutant rat and two humans.

“Welcome to an alternate dimension!”, said Tello.

“We know!”, said Cass loudly.

“But- How?”

“CJ found the kid that sent you here. Their mom opened another portal here. She’s reopening it in about an hour.”, said O’Neil.

“So, we have an hour to say goodbye?”, asked Angelo. He really liked these guys. They were family! Like the weird cousins he never had. He didn’t want to say goodbye.

“Yes, but I’m sure I can think of something for you to stay in touch. We could always work on a more permanent portal.”, said Draxum, “I would however take a while to be stable.”

“Which one of you is Casey Jones?!”, yelled Cass while walking closer to the group in question.

“The human guy!”, said Nardo.

“Let’s fight to see if you are worthy of the name Casey Jones!”

“Alright, dude!”

They jumped into a spar. It was very obvious that Cass was the better fighter between the two. She was a trained ninja after all.

Donnie looked at the remaining Casey. Before he could even voice his question the boy already said: “She did that with me too. I lost.”

“Is that why you go by CJ?”, asked Leo.

“Nope. It’s to avoid confusion. She considers we worthy of the name.”

“That’s cool dude!”

“So, he doesn’t have to win? Lame.”, said Raph.

“No one wins against here. She can beat all of us.”, said O’Neil.

O’Neil took a good look at April.

“Never thought I’d be white in any reality.”

“If Casey can be a girl in your world, why not?”

“Meh. Who cares.”

O’Neil slung her arm around April’s shoulder, pulling her closer.

“We’re sisters now.”

April chuckled a little. O’Neil and her were different but in a good way. Why would someone want everything to always be the same? What would be the point of the multiverse then?

O’Neil promptly took the other girl’s hand and dragged her over the turtles and CJ. They were still watching Casey and Cass fight. Casey was losing spectacularly.

Splinter walked over to the two adults standing off to the side of the children.

“I’m guessing your me then?”, asked the shorter mutant.

“I believe so. You did a good job raising your boys.”

“Thank you, but I wasn’t always the best father. I’m working on it now.”

“No father is perfect.”

“Wow. He’s formal. You could learn a thing or two from him.”, said Draxum.

Splints looked up at the yokai, upset.

“Shut up you overgrown sheep!”

The two kept bickering, completely ignoring the mutant watching them.

As Splinter watched them he couldn’t help and be reminded of Casey and Donnie. They bickered the same way. Was that any indication of where their relationship was heading? If so, Casey better treats Donnie right once they come to that point.

“My money is on Cass.”, said Nardo.

“As if Casey could ever win against her.”, agreed Tello.

“You’re underestimating Casey’s luck.”, said Leo.

“And his stubbornness.”, said Raph.

“True, but Cass is a trained ninja.”, said Angelo.

“We’ll just have to watch and see.”, said April.

They only had a good ten minutes left until the portal opens again until they had to return home.

“We should work on the portal once we get home.”, said Tello, determent to crack the multiverse once and for all. Maybe they could meet even more turtles. Just how many of them were out there?

“What are we going to do until you work on the portal?”, asked Mikey. He didn’t want to miss his new friends/family.

“Nothing. We don’t have the resources to build a portal.”, said Donnie. He wanted that portal, but he really didn’t think the Kraang had a portal like that he could steal.

“If only we had a way to stay in contact.”, said April.

“That would be amazing!”, agreed Casey.

“But that would be impossible! We tried calling home when we got here.”, said Tello.

“We tried calling you when you didn’t show up.”, said Cass.

“If only we had enough time to figure out something.”, said Donnie.

The kids didn’t notice their parents getting closer to them, overhearing their conversation.

Draxum spoke up: “Donatello, don’t you have that chat you made?”

“You mean Dee-cord? The superior version of Discord?”

“Yes. Could you download it to everyone’s phones?”

“Yeah, sure.”

Tello summoned a screen with his ninpo and began tipping away. Seconds later six phones got a notification.

“Done. I also added all of you to a group chat with us already. And feel free to make a chat of your own. And Donnie, you have admin rights, I don’t trust anyone else with those.”

“Great. May I have your phones?”, Draxum asked. What was he up to?

Draxum didn’t take the phones in his hands. They floated in front of him surrounded by what one could only assume was Mystic. He began chaining some kind of rhyme as the Mystic glow became a little brighter and eventually died down. He handed the phones back.

“This should have taken care of that.”

Everyone looked at him confused.

“I talked about these kinds of spells with the lady they send us here. If I did everything correctly this would establish a connection to our realm. Given the phones are connected to the Internet that is.”

Angelo threw himself at the yokai, hugging him. Mikey decided he wanted to join.

“Thank you!”

“Thank you, dude!”

Draxum let the hug happen for a second and pet the two turtles’ heads.

“This is enough.”

The two orange turtles let him go.

Now they could talk to each other, no matter the world!

The portal opened. It was time to go home. The kids shared a group hug, said their goodbyes and left through the portal.

Soon after the portal had closed again.

“Let’s go home.”, said Master Splinter.

They were going to miss their interdimensional counterparts.

The fall out of the portal was far from graceful. They were all piled on top of each other.

“You found them! Thank titan.”, said one of the women.

“WE can finally go home.”, said the other.

The kid ran up to Mikey, the turtle that stood closest to them.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!”

“It’s alright. We had fun over there!”, said the orange turtle.

“Next time practice with your parents or someone else around.”, said Raph.

“I will!”

“We should get going then. We could all use some sleep.”, said the first woman. She turned to her wife, who had their child in her arms.

“Wait! Can we ask you stuff about portals?”, asked Leo.

“We want to make a stable portal and might need some answers.”, added Donnie.

“Of course. Your father has my number. Just call and I’ll help you.”

“Let’s go, we really need to get this one to bed.”

“Noo. Nooo!”, wailed the child.

The family left the lair.

Donnie pulled out his phone, wanting to see if the spell worked. He texted into the group chat he had made and smiled when he received an answer from the other world's Leo. They wouldn’t have to miss their extended family after all.

“We better get to bed too.”, said April.

“Turtle pile?”, asked Raph.

“Turtle pile!”

This was an odd adventure, to say the least. One none of them would ever forget. Who knows what is bound to happen next? How long until they get to see each other again?

Somehow they just know, that this isn’t quite the end of the story yet.

Notes:

The last chapter is here! But the story is not fully done yet! I still have three shorts to publish! I need to make Jonatello canon somehow.

I didn’t want to change the story of 2012 too much, so the Rise Family had to go home before season 2 continued.

A little preview for the three one shots that I’ll post soon:
- Donnie and Casey getting together
- What’s happening in Rise while 2012 goes through the rest of Season 2, 3 and the first half of Season 4
- 2012 boys get cloaking brooches

Notes:

There’s some stuff regarding this AU on my tumblr (beanieable).

I don’t know how long it will take to update. I have my midterms comic soon. I’ll try to update after that.

If you have any ideas for this story, feel free to tell me.
