Chapter Text
It was only supposed to last for a little bit. At least, that’s how long Luz expected the Titan’s gifts to last, what with the warning she was given and all. Yet, even as she laid on the red grass with King and Eda, even exhausted after the adrenaline of the just-previous fight wore off, she still felt no weakening of the Titan’s influence.
Luz supposed that Titan spirits were just that strong. She didn’t have much else to go off of.
Raine walked over to where the three were resting on the ground. “As much as I’d love to stay out here all day,” they remarked while grinning down at the trio, “couldn’t we at least move somewhere else?”
Eda mimicked shooing them away with her good arm. “That would require getting up , mxster, and I don’t feel like doing that.”
Luz started the very long process of sitting up. “Oh, I could bring us back home!” “Yeah, how could yo- right.” Eda said as she glanced over at Luz, seeing her still in her unfamiliar form. “You’re gonna have to explain that, kiddo.”
“Ooo! Can we get some chocosmilk while she does?” King chimed in.
“King, the stands are all destroyed.”
“...Yeah, I know.”
Luz twirled Stringbean in the air, enveloping the four of them in a glyph bubble and rocketing them off toward the Owl House… at least as soon as she figured out which direction it was.
“...So let me get this straight,” Eda said in disbelieving manner as she lounged on the nest-bed that had been moved down to the living room. Luz sat on the floor just outside the bed while she recounted her tale, while King and Raine both lay in the nest looking at her with wondrous and confused expressions respectively.
“...You die, you wake up in this weird, watery, space-cube place-”
“The In-Between,” Luz confirmed.
“Right, the in-between, that much I believe. But you meeting the actual Titan , that just seems a bit…” Eda paused as she tried to find the right word, giving Raine a chance to finish for her. “What Eda probably means to say is that your story is somewhat far-fetched, although I don’t see any other explanations.”
King, meanwhile, shared none of their skepticism, sparkles practically shining in his eyes. “You really met my dad!? What did he look like? Did he have any messages for me?”
Luz’s head was spinning from the onslaught of questions. “Uhhhh, Raine I agree it's far-fetched but I’ve lived stranger, and King he did have a message for you! C’mere so- oof! ” King leaped straight from the nest to her to hear the message, which she whispered into his ear.
“I… loaf… you? I loaf you!” King was more ecstatic than the whole Boiling Isles with his message. “Bread pun!” King laughed with pure joy, getting Eda, Luz, and Raine all laughing too.
The resulting good feelings in the room allowed everyone to finally get a moment of peace. Raine drifted off to sleep (their possession still unbeknownst to the others) while Luz discovered that her new claws did wonders for scratching King, getting him giggling and squirming in her hands. Luz giggled alongside him, “Oh I missed you so much, I’m so- wait… ”
Luz had a realization. A big one. “King, if you’re a Titan, and I’m now part Titan for… however long, does that mean…” King’s eyes widened similarly To how Luz’s now were. Each looked at the other as they spoke in unison, “... true siblings! ”
Eda chuckled at their antics. “Of course you two, we’ve known this for months!”
“I guess that makes you the mother of two Titans, doesn’t it Eda?” Luz shot back at her.
She snorted. “Well nobody said being a mother was easy.”
Luz struggled to suppress a laugh, which got Eda chuckling again, and pretty soon the three were all in hysterics yet again.
Amity was getting a little bit concerned. She was riding with Camila, Miss Lilith, and the Collector on one of their stars while they searched for any trace of King, Eda, or Luz (especially Luz). They had done a general sweep of the castle, or at least where it used to be, and over the mess that was Bonesborough. The shooting star now sped off toward the Owl House, which Amity figured was more likely for them to be at but whatever.
She was at least distracted from her worry by the sights of the Titan, although they couldn’t exactly be considered comforting. The right arm rose at its full length into the air, towering like a… well a titan ( very clever , Amity teased herself) over the rest of the Isles, and she still hadn't gotten used to how the Isles looked after both the Collector and Belos had altered it.
She hardly noticed they were about to land until they touched down, her nerves spiking before sighing in relief when the Collector beckoned them forth. She slowly stepped toward the entrance to the Owl House, thinking she was prepared to see her girlfriend again.
Amity was not ready. Oh boy was she not ready.
Standing in front of her was the most gorgeous person, nay, most gorgeous anything she had laid her eyes upon. Long and fluffy purple hair, similarly fluffy black fur running along their body, gold eyes on black that shined like the sun. Large horns sprouted from her head and her fingertips ended in claws, and a fang protruded from her mouth. It had to be Luz, but… was it really her?
Said demonic beauty, upon seeing Amity, broke out into the hottest prettiest grin Amity had ever seen. “Amity, Batata , you’re okay!” Yep, that’s Luz, oh titan oh Titan oh-
This new demonic Luz ran over to Amity, pulling her into an embrace and- why is her fur so warm oh my Titan oh my- kissed her on the cheek. Only then did the two of them notice that Luz had had to pick Amity up just for their faces to be at the same level- why is she so strong and so tall and eeeeeeeee-
“Whoooo, guess I got a growth spurt huh?” Luz laughed, her laugh is so pretty like this oh my -
Eda was cackling in the background, but Amity barely registered it, too lost in her hermosa .
As Luz set Amity down to go talk to Camila, Amity couldn’t be happier at all with her absolute goddess of a girlfriend.
Just as the Collector was getting ready to leave, Luz caught up to him to ask the star child a question.
“Hey Collector, you probably know more about this than I do, so uhhhh… how long is this supposed to last for?” The small god turned and giggled. “Silly, it doesn’t wear off! Titans are so powerful, their power lasts for eons afterward!”
“...Wow. Well, in that case…” She knelt down and scooped the Collector into a hug, “I’ll see you again someday.” The Collector probably didn’t know what a hug was, but she still felt him return it as best he could. The beginning of tears in his eyes as they let go, he waved goodbye as he flew off with Francois into the stars.
So, I keep the Titan’s magic for eons, huh? Luz thought to herself. …I could live with that.
