Chapter Text
Iruka had no idea why he had been summoned to the Hokage Tower. He had been in the library at the Academy studying when the ANBU arrived with the summons. Even though he had passed the vice principal exam, he wouldn’t take the position until the next academic year. So he was spending all the extra time he had increasing his studies for the position.
He knocked on the Hokage’s office door and heard, “Come in.”
He opened the door and found Kakashi inside, sifting through a mound of papers that sat against the wall. He looked at him and his eyes curved in that way that Iruka had come to learn the man was smiling. “Ah! Thank you for coming so promptly, Iruka-sensei.”
“Of course, Kakashi-sama.”
Kakashi waved his hand. “Please, just call me Kakashi.” He turned his attention back to the papers. “I’m sure I put it here…”
“Is there… something you need to show me?”
“Hmmm, that’s not it,” he mumbled to himself, looking over a piece of paper before tossing it aside. “Oh, ah, no,” he said, answering Iruka’s question. “I actually need to make a request of you.”
“Oh. Well, I’m happy to do anything you ask of me.”
Kakashi laughed. “You might need some more context before you so readily agree, sensei.”
“Uhhhh, okay…?”
Kakashi was still fiddling through the papers. “Well, Iruka, I’ll get right to it. My heat is coming up.” He help up a paper. “Oh, I was looking for this yesterday!”
Iruka was completely gobsmacked. “You’re… you’re an Omega?”
“I can never find anything without Shikamaru here. Good thing he’s coming back later today.”
“Kakashi!”
“Huh? Oh, right. Yes, I’m an Omega.” He looked at him, amused. “You seem surprised.”
“Well, who would suspect you being an Omega? Wait, no, I didn’t mean it like that! I… uh…”
Kakashi chuckled. “Relax, sensei. It’s not a fact I advertise.” He moved to his desk, sifting through the papers there. “I know I already looked here, but…”
“If you’re an Omega telling me about heat, then that means you know that I’m…”
“An Alpha. Yes, I know.”
“How do you… wait, don’t answer that.” It actually wasn’t surprising that Kakashi would know. As Hokage, he’d know the files of every active duty shinobi in Konoha.
Kakashi kept his back to him, searching through yet another stack of papers on his desk for whatever elusive form he sought. “I actually spend the majority of my heats alone, but now I’ve reached the point that if I don’t have a partner, I’ll get heat sickness.”
Iruka swallowed. He knew about heat sickness. If an Omega suffered too many heats alone, they would get sick to the point that they would suffer a very high fever with extreme cramping and nausea… sometimes so bad they had to be in the hospital and hooked up to IVs to prevent dehydration.
“Now that I’m Hokage, I can’t afford to be put out of commission that long. Heats always pass faster with a partner.”
“So… you’re looking for a… a heat share?”
“Precisely. Ah, finally! Found it! Wait… this is only the first half of the report… where’s the second?”
Iruka wondered how Kakashi could talk about such a personal subject so casually and with only half his attention on it. A heat share was a very intimate request for obvious reasons.
But why is he asking me? I mean, he’s been the most eligible bachelor in Konoha for… ages! And an Omega! How has he not found an Alpha?
“Kakashi-sama…”
“I have conditions,” he stated bluntly.
“Of course.” Heat shares usually contained a set of conditions for both parties. Sometimes contracts were even signed.
“All right.” Kakashi turned and faced him, stopping his search for the first time since Iruka entered. “First, you will not remove my mask. Second, I wear a bite collar. Third, I do not use any contraception in my heats.”
None of his conditions surprised Iruka. He didn’t know anyone who’d ever seen Kakashi’s face… or if they had, they weren’t telling. The bite collar was so standard it was almost not worth mentioning. And even him not wanting contraception usage wasn’t unusual… most Omegas did not get full satisfaction if their partner was wearing a condom. And it could create frustration to the point that it could cause heat sickness. A lot of Omegas took a specific pill after their heats if they didn’t want to risk pregnancy.
That’s probably what he does.
“That’s all understandable.”
“Good. Now, I don’t expect your answer right away, but I estimate my heat will hit in about two days. So I’m afraid I can’t give you a lot of time to consider.”
“I don’t need it. I accept.”
Kakashi chuckled. “That excited to get into my pants?”
Iruka did a double take. He’d always had a small crush on Kakashi (more people did than didn’t) but it wasn’t like that.
Kakashi laughed. “Relax, sensei, I’m only joking. But I do appreciate you being so ready with your answer. Thank you. Now, I really need to locate this document.” With that, he turned, mumbling to himself again as he searched.
To say Iruka was shocked was an understatement. He was going go heat share… with Kakashi?
Not just Kakashi… the Rokudaime! Someone who always has an ANBU guard within earshot. And this won’t stay private… people have a way of figuring things out! Which begs the question… why me? Surely there are other Alphas who would be more worthy of him…
“Iruka?”
“Yeah.”
“I don’t think you realize you were dismissed.”
“Oh! Forgive me!”
Kakashi chuckled. “I’ll contact you soon, sensei.”
“Uh… right.”
Iruka left the room, his stomach turning to butterflies.
I’m going to have sex… with Kakashi! He’s obviously experienced and has no qualms about reading porn in public… no, actually, he has stopped that since taking office. But still, I wonder what it’ll be like?
In about forty-eight hours, he was going to find out.

Chapter Text
That night, Iruka could barely sleep. Each minute brought him closer to Kakashi’s heat share and, he had to admit, his anxiety was growing.
Why did he ask me? There are plenty of Alphas in Konoha and most would never say no to him. Alphas who are more handsome and beautiful. And better than me. I’m just an insignificant Chūnin… a nobody.
He and Kakashi had always been friends, of a sort. Never close but always cordial. And never suspected Kakashi would ask him for something like this, especially when he’d told Iruka that he was prepared to be named the worst Hokage in history and it was all thanks to Iruka.
That shoulder slap, probably meant to be playful with that wink, had hurt for a week.
But then, just a few days later, when Iruka had told him that Naruto was someone who connected everyone in every village together, Kakashi had leapt over his desk and grasped his hands, thanking him profusely, saying he now knew what he had to do. Iruka hadn’t understood, even when he’d said he just needed to bow his head a little. It was only on Naruto and Hinata’s wedding day, when shinobi from Suna arrived to help out with missions so everyone who needed to attend the wedding could be there, had Iruka realized what Kakashi meant.
And Kakashi had even approached him during the wedding to engage in some small talk. Which was not something Kakashi was known for.
Had he been… planning to ask me?
It was quite plausible. Kakashi never did anything spontaneously.
Iruka’s alarm screeched way too early. He was already half-awake when he turned off the offending clock, groaning in frustration. He had tossed and turned the entire night, only sleeping for an hour or two at a time.
He rolled out of bed and stumbled to the shower. He needed to get ready for the day, he had a meeting with the current vice principal of the Academy today before he started shadowing.
He took extra time in the shower, letting the hot water soothe his muscles, then switched the water to cold to help him wake up. Once he was dressed he glanced at the clock and realized he was already running late.
Too late to make breakfast… hopefully I can grab a quick bite at the cafeteria before my meeting!
He slipped on his sandals and opened the door.
“Hi!” Kakashi greeted cheerfully.
“Bah!” Iruka shrieked, jumping back. “Kakashi-sama! What are doing here?”
“Well, I would have knocked, but you opened the door before I could,” he explained with a giggle. He gestured to the thermos in his hand. “You like coffee, right? Black?”
“Uh… yeah.”
“Good!” He held it out. “This is for you.”
“Oh… thank you.” He took the thermos, which was pleasantly warm. “I… appreciate it.”
“Well, I didn’t want to show up empty handed. That would have been rude.”
Iruka took a sip of the coffee and found it very tasty. It was excellent coffee, better than anything he bought on a regular basis. “This is wonderful. Thank you, Kakashi-sama.”
“Please, drop the sama.”
Iruka looked at him. “I’m sorry, Kakashi-san, but I really need to head out. I’m going to be late for my meeting with the vice principal.”
“No, you’re not.”
“What?”
Kakashi grinned. “Can’t be late to a meeting that was canceled.”
“Canceled? Who canceled it?”
“Me.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Because I think my heat will hit tonight and I would like to escort you to my estate.”
Iruka’s heart pounded. “Oh!”
Kakashi tilted his head. “You haven’t changed your mind, have you? It’s okay if you have, I won’t be offended.”
“What? Oh, no! No, I haven’t changed my mind at all!”
Kakashi smiled. “Good! Shall we go?”
Iruka walked out of his apartment, knowing his wards would lock into place as soon as he left. And then, he walked through the streets of Konoha, escorted by the Rokudaime himself!
They didn’t talk as they walked. Iruka didn’t know what to say and Kakashi seemed comfortable in the silence. So he just sipped his coffee as they headed to one of the oldest outskirts of the village.
Of course as they made their way through the village, they were both recognized for various reasons. No one stopped Iruka to talk beyond a polite hello with maybe a wave, but there were several who wanted to greet their Hokage. Kakashi handled each one with grace and ease.
He’s settled into the role of Hokage quite well, I think.
As they approached the outskirts, Iruka realized he had actually never visited this part of the village. There were no shops and only a few residents. These lands were old and would probably never be sold for development, because they were connected to some of the oldest families in Konoha.
They walked until they came to a wooden house. It was modest in size with a small porch. It had a grey roof and was surrounded by a simple board fence.
“Here we are,” Kakashi said.
“It’s nice,” Iruka told him.
“It’s not lavish by any means, but I promise it is comfortable. I keep it clean.”
“I keep it clean.” He comes here often. I wonder why? I know he lives in the residence the village provides the Hokage…
Kakashi opened the door. “Home sweet home. Would you like a tour?”
“Sure.”
They had stepped into a common space with a couch and a kotatsu in the middle of the room. Kakashi then led him to the kitchen, which also had a small dining area. Iruka was a bit surprised to find that the house also had a library… a true luxury.
So, Kakashi does read more than porn and official documents. Who knew?
At the back of the library was a set of sliding glass doors that opened to a stone pathway. The pathway led to a tall, solid, circular wood fence and an equally solid gate. Iruka could see the hint of the tops of a couple cherry trees in bloom.
Odd. Cherry trees don’t usually bloom this time of year…
“You’re welcome to to any place in the house or on the grounds,” Kakashi said, “but please do not enter my arboretum.”
He had obviously noticed that Iruka was looking at it. He turned to Kakashi. “Of course.”
Kakashi smiled. “Let me show you the rest of the house.”
So he showed Iruka the common bath and the one bedroom that was on the first floor. He then led him up the stairs saying, “This is my bedroom.”
The upstairs was small, consisting of a bedroom, bathroom, and closet, but it was by no means cramped. The bed was neatly made and, just like downstairs, there wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere.
Iruka looked around. “I… don’t mean to be rude. But do you not have a nest?”
Kakashi chuckled. “I don’t keep one ready. I usually just make them for my heats… I don’t have much use for them at any other time.”
“Oh.” That was… surprising. It was well known that an Omega’s nest was a place of comfort. It was odd that Kakashi wouldn’t have one.
But Iruka didn’t pry any deeper on the subject. That would be rude.
And that was when Iruka realized that he was sorely underprepared for the coming heat share.
“Umm, you probably already figured this out, but I didn’t… um… bring anything…”
Kakashi laughed. “Not to worry, sensei!” He pointed. “That closet will probably have everything you need. And if not, there’s a few sealing scrolls in there with more.”
Iruka gaped. “That’s… impressive.”
Kakashi shrugged. “I never know what my partners prefer, so I like to be prepared.”
Iruka stepped towards the closet. “May I…”
He made a sweeping gesture. “By all means.”
Iruka walked to the closet and opened the door, finding that the light came on automatically. He was astounded at the sheer amount of contents.
Hanging along one wall was a variety of seductive and revealing outfits he had no doubt fitted Kakashi absolutely perfectly. The wall opposite sported many different types of floggers and whips. There were ropes of various length, including some long enough for some very complex shibari. He even saw spools of chakra wire… some so thin that any movement against it would break the skin.
Along the back wall there was a tall chest with many drawers and as Iruka pulled them out, he found many different types and styles of blindfolds, handcuffs, dildos, plugs, sounds, gags, clamps, vibrators, anal beads, prostate massagers, and more… plus a few things Iruka had never seen before. The last drawer held the scrolls Kakashi had mentioned… he suspected they contained larger pieces of equipment.
“This is… a lot.”
“I like to be prepared. Plus I prefer my partners to use equipment I provide. I can guarantee its condition and sterilization that way.”
He nodded. “That makes sense. Especially if you have multiple partners you… play… with.”
“Just when I chose to heat share. I use some items when I’m spending heat alone.”
Iruka had no doubt that the dildos with the synthetic knot option probably were some that saw the most use.
“When my heat hits, you are free to use anything provided. There’s lube in there and also in my nightstand, but I’m usually a heavy slick producer, so you might not need it.”
At the mention of being “a heavy slick producer” Iruka felt heat curl in his belly. Alphas marveled at heavy slick production the way Omegas marveled at the size of Alpha knots.
This could seriously end up being one of the best experiences of my life!
But as he stared at the massive amount of toys, a question burned.
“What about you, Kakashi?”
“Hmmm?”
“What do…” He swallowed. “What do you… like? What would you prefer I not engage in?”
Kakashi laughed again. “Oh, Iruka, you’re too kind. But you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be comfortable with anything you chose.”
Iruka whipped around. “Kakashi-sama…!”
He waggled his finger. “No sama.”
“Sorry. But surely you don’t mean… anything!”
“Sensei, do you think I am lying?” Kakashi put a hand on his heart and swooned with exaggeration. “You wound me.”
“Kakashi, everyone has boundaries! The last thing I would ever want to do is —”
Kakashi chuckled. “Don’t worry, sensei. This is what is fair.”
Iruka was confused. “Fair?”
The Rokudaime nodded. “Of course. I understand that my partners are doing me a favor by engaging in a heat share. So I return it by being open to anything my partner wishes.”
“That — doesn’t sound healthy.”
Kakashi shrugged. “Maa, it’s not that big of a deal. There’s never any danger to me.”
“Huh?”
He smiled, his eyes curling mischievously. “I can get myself out of anything in that situation, even in heat. I have trained extensively for it, especially since rape can be a common means of torture should one get captured. So truly, there is no danger to me.”
“But I don’t want to push you to that point accidentally!”
Kakashi guffawed. “I doubt you will but if you do, you would be the first.”
Iruka sighed. “All right. But you have to promise me you’ll tell me if I do.”
“Cross my heart.”
“Good. Now, what’s your safe word?”
“I don’t have one.”
“What?”
“As I said, you can’t put me in a position I would not be able to free myself in. So a safe word is not needed.”
Iruka threw his hands in the air. “You big, dumb idiot! Did you learn nothing from those filthy books you can barely keep away from?”
Kakashi crossed his arms, amused. “Does that mean you know what they contain? Meaning you’ve read them? More people should, it’s great literature.”
Iruka huffed. “If you’re willing to engage in anything, how can you not have something as basic as a safe word?”
“Because, as I’ve stated, I don’t need one. But would it help if I give you one?”
“Yes!”
“Okay, sensei. How about red?”
Iruka relaxed. “I use the color system for myself, so that works just fine.”
“Good!”
Iruka rubbed the back of his neck. “Umm, I guess I better tell you my boundaries.”
“Of course.”
“Well, first, I don’t do humiliation. I feel it’s counterproductive. I also will not perform coprophilia in any form. And I don’t engage in blood play… I’ve visited too many injured friends in the hospital to find that arousing in any way. I also won’t do rape fantasies or schoolboy role plays… I don’t think I need to explain that one.”
“You don’t need to explain any of them. I respect the boundaries of all my partners.” Kakashi smiled. “We can talk more about specifics if you like, but I’m getting hungry. Do you like eggplant miso?”

Chapter Text
Sitting at the small island in the kitchen with a glass of cold barley tea, Iruka watched Kakashi expertly flit around the kitchen as he prepared their meal.
“I didn’t know you cooked.”
Kakashi chuckled. “Yeah. After my father died, I had to learn, otherwise I’d starve.”
Iruka snorted. “Well, I tried to learn and it’s something I never mastered.”
Kakashi looked up from cutting the eggplant, but his knife never stilled. “It can’t be that bad, sensei.”
“Oh no? You should have seen the last time I tried to cut daikon. I sliced my thumb and next thing I know there’s pots and pans and chopsticks everywhere. One pot even fell on my head!”
Kakashi laughed. “How did that happen?”
“I don’t even know,” he replied, laughing along. “So, with that said, I’m pretty useless in the kitchen, but I’m happy to help.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Iruka-sensei,” Kakashi said. “You’re a guest in my home. I don’t mind.”
Bringing me coffee, escorting me to his home, now cooking me a meal… he’s definitely courting me.
An Omega courting an Alpha for heat was an age-old practice… so old Iruka didn’t know if it was custom or instinct. It was a form of light seduction. But just because it existed didn’t mean that every Omega engaged in it. And Iruka would have never suspected that Kakashi would engage in such a thing. He’d actually expected to be summoned right when it was time, fill Kakashi as many times as his heat demanded, then part with the Hokage’s thanks.
But Kakashi wasn’t making this share casual.
He was making it intimate.
Which Iruka certainly wasn’t going to complain about.
Especially since the man was just so damn sexy.
Pre-heat made some Omegas more passive, more relaxed. And with the way Kakashi was humming and almost dancing in the kitchen was proof that it certainly affected him this way.
That probably explained why Kakashi had been so at ease when Iruka looked through his… supply closet. Iruka had yelled at him, even going to far as to call him a “big, dumb idiot”, and Kakashi had only been amused.
He should have kicked me out. I have no right to judge how he conducts himself privately.
“Kakashi-sama, I need to apologize to you.”
“Would you please drop the sama?” he said as he put the eggplant in a pan. “And whatever for?”
“For… yelling at you and calling you a… a…”
Kakashi looked at him, grinning. “A big, dumb idiot?”
Iruka swallowed, gripping his tea glass.
Kakashi’s expression softened. “Relax, sensei, I’ve been called much worse.”
“It was inappropriate and rude.” He dropped his shoulders in a small bow. “Please, forgive me.”
“It’s forgotten. I honestly found it quite amusing… no other Alpha has been… bothered by my choices before.”
Then they didn’t actually care about you.
Iruka took a sip of his tea. “You did give me a bit of a shock. Because it’s… not normal.”
Kakashi chuckled. “I’ve never been accused of being normal, so I guess it fits.”
Iruka was horrified. “Kakashi!”
His laughter deepened. “You’re still so easy to rile up. It’s good to see that some things haven’t changed.”
Iruka tilted his head. “What do you mean by that?”
Kakashi sighed. “Konoha has experienced a lot of change since the war. Some of it, like being at peace with the other Great Nations and Naruto and Hinata’s wedding are good things. Some changes only time will reveal if they are good or not, like the decision to let Sasuke go. And others are just bad, like my face on Hokage Rock.”
“Are you dissatisfied with how it turned out?”
“No. I just hate the thing. I never wanted to be Hokage, Iruka.”
Iruka felt his eyes widen. “You didn’t? Then why did you accept the position?”
“Because the village needed me to. That’s another change that remains be seen if it’s good or not.”
“But, you’re a fine Hokage, Kakashi!”
He shrugged. “Somehow I doubt that, but I appreciate your vote of confidence.”
Somehow, Iruka had missed Kakashi preparing the rest of their meal, as he watched him scoop the eggplant miso into bowls. The Rokudaime smiled. “Shall we sit at the kotatsu?” he asked as Iruka downed the last of his tea.
“Sure.”
They made their way into the living room and sat opposite each other. They said “Itadakimasu!” in perfect unison, then Iruka took a bite of his soup. The eggplant was so soft and tender and the soup was perfectly balanced with flavor.
“This is delicious!”
“Thank you. It’s actually my favorite.”
He… made me his favorite?
Kakashi really was treating him well. A small part of Iruka was jealous that other Alphas had been pampered by Kakashi like this.
“Can I… ask you a question?”
“Please.”
Iruka looked up at him. “Why me?”
“Why not you?”
“Huh?”
Kakashi smiled. “Iruka, we’ve known each other for several years now. I know we’ve never been close, but you’ve always been someone I can rely on.”
Iruka almost choked on his soup.
“Me? How can you rely on me? Our one and only mission together got me —”
He broke off as Kakashi held up his hand. “I can rely on you to be there for Naruto. I can rely on you to be steadfast and true in your beliefs. I can rely on your consistency.” Kakashi grinned. “And I can also rely on you to speak your mind. It’s not everyone who is willing to call his Hokage an idiot.”
Iruka sputtered, nearly spitting out his soup. His reaction caused Kakashi to laugh from deep in his belly, a sound Iruka had never heard before.
I like his laugh.
“So that’s why I chose you, Iruka. You never saw me as the Copy Cat Ninja. You never saw me as a former ANBU operative. You don’t even see me as Hokage. To you, I’m just… Kakashi. And I like that.”
Iruka swallowed, feeling a flush deep in his body. “Oh. Well, I mean, of course you’re Kakashi.”
“No, you have a gift. You see people for who they are. Besides myself, for example, there’s Naruto.”
“But I didn’t start out that way,” Iruka said glumly, remembering their conversation on the bench that now was many years ago.
“Only because you had not yet worked through your grief. And once you did, you became the only person he truly trusted for many years. He respects you so much that he even asked you to stand as his father in his wedding.”
Iruka swallowed a bite of eggplant. “I was surprised he didn’t ask you.”
Kakashi hummed. “I doubt he even considered it.”
Iruka lowered his spoon and looked at him. “Naruto loves you. It wouldn’t have surprised me.”
“It’s just as well that he didn’t. I wouldn’t have accepted anyway.”
Iruka started to ask why, but stopped himself.
His sensei was Naruto’s father. And I know he respected him greatly. It would probably have been awkward for Kakashi to stand in that place. Plus, he’d been invited to the wedding as Naruto’s former sensei, not as the Hokage. He’s so much more relaxed when he’s not in any official clothing.
Of course, Kakashi always looked good in anything he was wearing. But even now, though he wore a standard Jonin uniform, his flack vest bore his rank in bright red kanji on the back.
Which sets him apart from everyone. Before that it was the Sharingan. And before that it was his father’s suicide. I wonder how alone he truly is?
It wasn’t an easy question to answer. Kakashi had friends, he’d seen him in the local haunts a few times. But he’d never seen him date, never known him to have a relationship with anyone beyond friendship.
Maybe that’s what he wants. Not everyone wants to be mated.
Iruka cleared his throat. “Do you have a contract?”
Kakashi swallowed a spoonful of soup. “Hmm?”
“A consent contract. For the heat share.”
“Oh. No. I never bothered with that.”
It shouldn’t have surprised him. But it still did. And it made his heart hurt.
“Kakashi,” he started, keeping his voice low and measured, almost soft, “you mentioned earlier that you’ve trained extensively to get out of any unsafe position during heat. That is a massive accomplishment and I’m in awe of it. However, it wouldn’t be needed if you had a contract.”
Kakashi ate the last bit of his soup. “It is if the other party decides to break the contract.”
Horror filled Iruka’s being. “You weren’t…”
“No,” Kakashi told him. “No, I have never been raped or taken advantage of. I always screen my potential partners before I approach them.”
“Well that makes me feel a little bit better,” Iruka said with a sigh.
Kakashi smiled. “I’m glad I can put you at ease.”
“I said I felt a little better, not that I’m at ease. You’ve got to have things you like and things you don’t. Everyone does!”
Kakashi waved his hand. “That doesn’t matter to me. I’m not worried about it, so you shouldn’t worry about it. Are you finished?”
“Oh! Yes, thank you.”
Sly devil changing the subject.
Kakashi rose and stepped over to collect his bowl. But when he bent down and Iruka inhaled, he smelled it.
It was faint, but he could smell the sweetness that Omegas emanated in heat.
“Kakashi…”
“I know, sensei. I can feel it.”
Iruka cleared his throat. “When will you want to…”
Kakashi straightened. “It’s only just starting. It won’t fully hit for a few hours.”
“Oh. Will you… tell me when you want to… get started?”
Kakashi chuckled. “We can start now if you want. I’m open to it.”
Iruka stood. “If it’s ok, I’d like to spend some time preparing myself. I’d like to walk outside, if that’s all right.”
Heat was definitely a marathon. It could last anywhere from hours to days. And Iruka needed to mentally prepare himself. He didn’t like to just jump into sex. And heat sex was different than anything else.
Kakashi smiled. “Of course. Nothing will become intense until tonight anyway, so please, take your time.”
Iruka knew what he meant by “intense”… when he would writhe and call out for an Alpha to soothe him. If it got to that point then heat became painful.
Which I will never let happen.
Iruka smiled back then made his way to the genkan to slip on his sandals. He stepped out the door and took a deep breath.
It had been a while since he’d participated in a heat share. Not quite as long since he’d last had sex… he and Anko had burned off some after-war stress together. But a heat share was so much more than a casual fling, even if nothing came of it.
Heat was when an Omega was at their most vulnerable. Communication was key. And Iruka had a feeling that even if he had asked for specifics, Kakashi wouldn’t tell him what he did and didn’t like. He’d take whatever Iruka deemed, fully submit in every way.
Iruka didn’t like that. He wanted his partners to enjoy their time with him. And he was going to make sure Kakashi did, too.
He might not use his words, but there are other ways people can convey their desires. I’ll just have to pay extra attention.
The wind stirred and with it, came the sweet smell of cherry blossoms. Iruka stopped, looking at the large, foreboding fence.
Why is it when someone tells you not to go somewhere or not to touch something that’s all you want to do?
Of course, he would never breach Kakashi’s privacy or trust.
Curiosity killed the cat, after all.

Next chapter we start getting spicy! This will be my first time writing true smut, so I hope it turns out! 🤞🏻
Also, I have been informed that miso soup is actually supposed to be drunk straight from the bowl and not with a spoon. So, uh, oops for the lack of accuracy, will be noted for future fics 🙂

Chapter Text
The Hatake estate was a lot smaller than Iruka thought it would be.
But that was the way of Konoha rumor. A lot of the old clans had either sold off a good portion of their lands years ago or their land had just never been as large as everyone thought. Iruka didn’t know what the case was for the Hatake, but he didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask.
At the moment, he was concerned about Kakashi. It was clear he had built up a very unhealthy habit when it came to sex.
Iruka didn’t care what the circumstances were. No one was ever owed sex. And by the same token, no one deserved to be a doormat for sex. It wasn’t good to be open to anything a partner desired and not care about your own likes and dislikes.
Iruka knew he wouldn’t take advantage of Kakashi. He had to figure out what he liked and what he didn’t, but it would have to happen during the share. Kakashi clearly was not going to tell him beforehand.
This was new territory for Iruka. He’d always had a list of do’s and don’t’s with his previous partners. He placed a high value on consent and never wanted to breech that line, even accidentally.
“Iruka-sensei.”
Iruka jumped, surprised at the sudden appearance of an ANBU beside him. He knew the ANBU guard was never far away… he’d seen the Sandaime have an ANBU at his side with just a flick of his hand. “Oh! What can I do for you, ANBU-san?”
This ANBU wore a cat mask. “I need to make a request of you, Iruka-sensei.”
He drew his eyebrows together. “Of me?”
He gave a nod. “Kakashi-senpai has ordered no guard during this time, against all advice, I might add. Even though he’s fully capable of defending himself, even in heat, it still doesn’t negate the delicacy of the situation.”
“I’m… aware of how exposed an Omega is while in heat…” he informed him, uncertain if that’s what concerned the ANBU.
But the ANBU remained rigid. “That’s not what I mean.”
Iruka raised an eyebrow. “Okay…?”
“He trusts you. In a way he doesn’t trust most.”
Iruka’s jaw dropped. “What?”
“I’m simply asking that you take care of him, sensei. He’s more vulnerable than you know.”
Any other time, Iruka would have been shocked at those words. Kakashi had always been a pillar of power and strength. He’d always been so confident and sure… Iruka had never seen him waver.
But he’d also never really been around him outside of a professional manner.
“I won’t hurt him,” Iruka promised. “You have my word.”
“I know you won’t,” the ANBU said. “That’s not the problem.” He sighed. “He hurts himself.”
Iruka nodded. “I’m starting to pick up on that.”
The ANBU looked behind him, at the proud fence surrounding the arboretum. “He suffers more than anyone knows.”
Iruka stiffened. “What do you mean?”
The ANBU faced him again. “Only he can share that.”
And then, the ANBU was gone.
Strange…
Iruka closed his eyes.
Not many knew about his echolocation skills. Though it was a kekkei genkai,it wasn’t as well known as the doujutsu of Konoha. It was a powerful technique but it had two major flaws. First, it required an incredible focus of his chakra to activate it to its fullest. And that activation took time, which meant on the field of battle, he ideally needed someone to watch his back whenever he needed to activate it.
He inhaled, focusing. It took several moments for him to filter out the sounds of his own breath and heartbeat, wind, rustling leaves, a rabbit jumping through the bushes, Kakashi moving through the house, before he found what he sought.
Silence.
As silent as they were, even the ANBU couldn’t fully stop the sound of their breath moving in and out of their lungs.
And the silence Iruka heard was the absence of that sound.
True to the ANBU’s word, there were no ANBU around.
He and Kakashi were truly alone.
Well, that would certainly lessen the gossip that would eventually float around the village.
He was a little unsettled at the words the ANBU had spoken to him. He didn’t like the thought of anyone suffering, especially in silence.
Kakashi…
He’d known when Kakashi asked him that this wasn’t a normal heat share. He was the Hokage! But now, Iruka was seeing there was something deeper, something hidden.
And he knew it had something to do with that arboretum and the cherry trees that bloomed out of season… somehow.
He made his way back to the house, the encounter with the ANBU leaving him slightly flustered. That hadn’t been just some random guard. That was someone who knew Kakashi… and knew him well enough to care deeply.
He left his sandals in the genkan and made his way through the first level of the small house. When he didn’t see Kakashi, he realized he was upstairs.
He climbed the steps that creaked softly with age, finding Kakashi’s bedroom door open and him inside. The Omega was layering several soft and fluffy blankets on the bed and adding a few more pillows. He looked up and gave Iruka a smile. “Hello.”
Iruka smiled back. “Hi.” He took a step back. “I didn’t realize you were making your nest. Excuse my intrusion.”
Kakashi laughed and motioned him in. “Not at all! I know some Omegas are very private when making their nests, but I honestly don’t mind. You’re going to see it anyway.”
Iruka noted Kakashi’s word choice of “honestly don’t mind”. The Hokage was clever, but Iruka had years of experience looking “underneath the underneath” of pre-genin, who were just as clever with their word selection… maybe more so.
“Most Omegas are. You really don’t mind?”
He shook his head. “No. Most Omegas keep nests. I don’t. A bed or futon is enough for me. I find nests necessary in heat. So since I’m sharing my heat with you, I don’t think it’s that private.”
“Oh.”
“I do want to show you that I have plenty of supplies for you,” Kakashi said. He knelt and pulled two containers on wheels out from under the bed. Iruka stepped closer to inspect their contents. One was filled with water and some energy drinks. The other was filled to the brim with snacks… protein bars, shrimp crackers, chocolate, packs of roasted seaweed, mochi, dried fruits… Iruka was sure there was more variety under that first layer.
“I’ve also taken the liberty of prepping some meals as well,” Kakashi said. “They are in the refrigerator, all the ones that need heating are labeled with instructions. I also have ramen and miso packets and there’s plenty of rice in the rice cooker.”
Iruka smiled. “You’ve thought of everything.”
Kakashi chuckled. “I learn from each heat. I also want you to understand that I want you to feel as comfortable here as you would in your own home. Feel free to use any of the soaps in the bathroom… I got a variety since I don’t know what you prefer. I just usually use unscented myself.”
Either he got all this last night or he’s been planning this for a while.
“You’re a generous host.”
Kakashi smiled. “I’m glad you are pleased, Alpha.” He cocked his head. “Oh.”
Iruka noticed the word choice as well.
“Umm, I know that sometimes saying ‘Alpha’ is instinctual, but please know that you don’t have to call me that if you don’t want to. Even though I’m naturally a dominant, I don’t want my partners doing or saying anything they are uncomfortable with.”
“Sensei, stop worrying,” Kakashi said with fond amusement as he pushed the containers back under the bed. “I might be a submissive, but I’m far from helpless. I’ve finished assassination missions while in heat before… I’m perfectly capable of looking out for myself.”
Yeah, in a physical sense. But mentally I’m not so sure.
Kakashi stood and the light caught the faint sheen of sweat on his cheeks. The sweetness of his scent was growing more pungent… Iruka didn’t need to be right next to him to smell it anymore.
“You’re progressing quickly,” he commented.
Kakashi nodded. “Probably because my body knows an Alpha is near.”
Iruka looked Kakashi up and down. He swallowed his nerves, letting his instincts take over. “Then we should get started. It’ll be easier on you.”
Kakashi immediately went to the fastenings of his flak vest but Iruka stepped forward, putting his hand out. “Wait.”
Kakashi looked up. “Yes?”
Iruka licked his lips, feeling his heartbeat rise in his chest. “May I… may I undress you?”
Kakashi raised an eyebrow but then smiled. “Whatever you like, sensei.”
“And stop calling me sensei. I like to keep that title outside the bedroom, if you don’t mind.”
He chuckled softly. “Not at all, Iruka.”
Slowly, Iruka reached out, taking his left hand. Kakashi offered no resistance as he brought it forward and gently peeled the glove away. Then he moved to the right. But when that glove was removed, he gasped.
He saw the reason why Kakashi always wore gloves.
There, in the middle of his palm, was a large chakra scar that was rough and raised in the middle then spread across in a pattern of lightning. He’d seen Kakashi use his famed raikiri on that one mission they’d served on together years ago, had witnessed the powerful chakra he held in his hand.
Scars were common for shinobi. Chakra scars were less so, but lightning types were more susceptible to them.
“Something wrong?”
“No,” Iruka said softly. “I just… didn’t know.”
“A scar is hardly something noteworthy for someone of my background, Iruka.”
He ignored him. He let his fingers drift over the scar, over the hand that had crushed hundreds of enemies to keep Konoha safe. He knew the reason he’d once been known as “Friend Killer”.
Someone so kind didn’t deserve such a thing.
Iruka bent down and pressed his lips against the scar with a gentle kiss. He felt Kakashi’s fingers twitch slightly.
Oh. He liked that.
He set the gloves down on the chest that sat at the foot of the bed.
Next was the hitai-ate. Iruka slipped his fingers beneath the elastic on either side and pushed, his fingers catching the softness of Kakashi’s silver locks… less wild than they used to be. He could smell the miso that his mask had captured through his breath. He could hear that Kakashi’s breathing had quickened. It was subtle… so slight that most people, even shinobi, would not have picked up on it.
But, thanks to his kekkei genkai, Iruka could hear it.
He placed the hitai-ate next to the gloves and then methodically undid the fastening to his flak vest. He peeled the bulky thing off, Kakashi moving his arms obediently to allow its removal.
It was amazing how much bulk the vest added to his lean frame. He’d always known he had a slim build, but Iruka hadn’t quite realized how much broader he was compared to him. Alpha bodies were usually broader and bulkier than Omegas, but Kakashi was slight.
Next came the shirt. He reached for it, but stopped. This posed a potential problem, because Kakashi’s shirt had obviously been custom made with an attached mask. He hesitated.
Kakashi’s eyes gleamed mischievously. “Go ahead,” he urged, his voice carrying a hint of gentleness. “You won’t compromise me.”
Knowing he could take him at his word, Iruka took the waist of his sweater in his hands. He pulled up, the fabric revealing pale, toned skin.
Kakashi raised his arms and bent forward slightly… he was a little taller than Iruka… assisting in his shirt’s removal. Once it was off, Kakashi straightened again and Iruka saw that he apparently habitually wore a second mask, because there was one there, made out of the same fabric, covering his lower face and throat. Iruka allowed his gaze to drift down and then felt his eyes go wide.
“Oh…”
There, across Kakashi’s chest, was a huge scar in the shape of an X.
Kakashi noticed his stare. “I got that in the war,” he said. “Courtesy of a friend.”
“A… friend?”
Kakashi chuckled softly. “It’s a long story.”
Iruka sighed as he neatly folded the shirt next to the equally neatly folded flak vest. “I don’t doubt it.”
He turned back to Kakashi. In nothing but his pants he looked so much smaller. As if peeling back the physical layers revealed a vulnerability.
But that was a preposterous thought, right? He was seeing vulnerability because he wanted to, because Kakashi was an Omega in heat who needed to be cared for.
And it’s not like he’s a damsel in distress. He could kill me with one hand tied behind his back and not even break a sweat.
Oh… that thought should not be sexy.
But it was.
It was terrifyingly exhilarating.
Next his fingers found the button and zipper for his trousers. Iruka knelt as he pulled them down, marveling at just how fine the hair on Kakashi’s legs was… almost like peach fuzz.
He stepped out of the pants easily, leaving his boxers as the last layer blocking his body from Iruka’s touch. But instead of taking them off, Iruka rose and walked behind him.
“May I scent you, Kakashi?”
Kakashi huffed a quiet laugh. “Of course. You don’t have to ask, Iruka.”
“Yes, I do. Because I like hearing your verbal.” He stepped close, his vest nearly touching Kakashi’s back, and grasped Kakashi’s forearm firmly. He placed his lips next to his ear and said in a low voice, “As long as your answers are honest.”
“Unless mission parameters call for it,” Kakashi replied just as low, “I never lie.”
Iruka hummed as he let his nose drift against Kakashi’s ear. He was rewarded with the slightest of shivers. “Not even to yourself?”
He echolocation allowed him to hear the increase of Kakashi’s heartbeat. He felt the arm beneath his fingers tense. Two signs that he’d hit the mark.
“Oh, Kashi…” he whispered. “Why?”
Kakashi turned his head. “‘Kashi’?”
Iruka bit his lip. “Sorry. I… have a habit of giving my partners nicknames. I don’t have to use one if you don’t like it.”
Kakashi smiled. “I do.”
Iruka laid his nose against Kakashi’s masked neck and inhaled. Beneath the sweetness of heat, he smelled the freshness of the first spring rain with a hint of ozone.
Normally, Iruka didn’t like the scents of lightning users. They smelled of harsh storms and fierce winds, with the ozone so strong it nearly burned.
But Kakashi smelled… calm. Peaceful. Serene.
Iruka hummed pleasantly as he exhaled. Kakashi’s swayed slightly and Iruka heard his lips part with the smallest of gasps. He listened to the blood surge through Kakashi’s veins… an involuntary response for an Omega when they know they are pleasing an Alpha.
“I want us both to enjoy this,” Iruka whispered, stepping even closer till his chest pressed against Kakashi’s back. He placed his free hand on Kakashi’s stomach, sliding down past the elastic waist of his boxers till he could grasp the prize they contained. Kakashi stumbled but stayed upright, his breath quickening.
“So no clever wording,” Iruka continued, letting his scent leach out. He wouldn’t Command, not unless Kakashi wanted him to, but he could make this a suggestion that would be hard to ignore. “When I ask you a question, I want you to answer me honestly. You have a right to enjoy this process, Kakashi.” He nipped his ear. “And I want to give it to you.”
He moved his hand to pump once slowly and firmly. Kakashi groaned and threw his head back. Iruka smiled to himself as he let go of his arm to wrap it around his chest, steadying him. So many people thought heat was simply about filling an Omega. But it was so much more than that.
Heat was powerful, but heat was sensual.
And by letting Kakashi come first, Iruka was setting the tone, making it clear that he understood the pleasures an Omega could reach in heat. Omegas were so sensitive and beautiful… heat could be a divine experience… so much more than just ramrodding them senseless with a knot.
But some Alphas weren’t patient enough for that.
Iruka, however, had never taken pleasure in just repeatedly knotting an Omega over and over. He’d done a lot of studying over the years so that he could be a kind, caring, and knowledgeable partner.
“Do you like this?” he asked, continuing to pump slowly.
“Yes,” Kakashi said breathlessly.
“Good. What do you like about it?”
Kakashi whined and Iruka could smell a hint of nervousness. “Too much?” he asked.
He mewled.
Iruka hummed his understanding. Kakashi wasn’t used to expressing his desires and feelings in sex. The question had been too open, too broad.
“What about questions you can answer yes or no? Would that be better?”
Kakashi nodded jerkily against him. “Yes.”
Iruka rewarded him by increasing his pressure and running his fingers over his slit. Kakashi trembled, and Iruka crooned comfortingly.
“It’s ok, Kashi. I’ve got you.”
At his words, Kakashi leaned back, allowing his body to melt against Iruka. Slim as he was, Iruka didn’t have to exert any effort to support him. He whimpered as Iruka continued pumping him and massaging his head, bucking his hips ever so slightly.
Iruka smiled. “Good. Do you want to bring yourself to completion?”
“N-no,” he gasped out.
Iruka hummed. “I understand.”
So with that he began pumping harder as he held Kakashi steady with his arm. The man groaned under his ministrations, shaking.
“I’m… I’m…”
Iruka nosed his neck with a smile. “I won’t deny you… not yet. You can come, Kashi.”
A moment later, warm liquid burst forth and Kakashi open-mouth moaned as Iruka continued to drive his release forward.
“You’re so good,” Iruka told him, lightly stroking him through the aftershock before he pulled his hand away, the elastic waist of his boxers snapping back against narrow hips. He brought his hand up close to their noses. “Can you smell yourself on me, Kashi?”
“Yes,” he whispered.
Iruka brought his palm to his face and licked off some of the sticky substance. “Mmmm. You taste sweet.”
Kakashi chuckled, a little unsteadily. “That’s because I’m in heat.”
“No,” Iruka said, pulling him tighter. He put his nose against his ear and whispered, “It’s because it’s you.”

Chapter Text
Iruka felt Kakashi shudder in his arms.
He likes being complimented.
He brought his hand across Kakashi’s bare chest, spreading the scent of his sex on him. He grazed over a nipple and Kakashi stiffened minutely.
He doesn’t like his nipples being touched.
Iruka filed away each new discovery about the powerful Rokudaime with care. These were precious secrets he was being trusted with and they were his alone to discover.
Iruka slid down Kakashi’s lean body, letting his hands grab the elastic of his underwear, pulling it down as he knelt. “Would you step forward, please?”
Kakashi complied and Iruka pushed the soiled underwear out of the way. He stood and when Kakashi turned around and he saw his sex for the first time, his breath caught.
Omegas were naturally smaller than Alphas, but that didn’t mean they were any less impressive. Kakashi looked amazing… his length still covered in his cum, his body flushed pink from his release.
Kakashi brought a hand to the back of his neck and chuckled nervously. “I… uh… wasn’t expecting you to do that.”
Iruka smiled at him. “I’m not a selfish lover. I get just as much satisfaction seeing your enjoyment as I do feeling my own.”
Iruka stepped forward and took Kakashi’s hands in his own, bringing his knuckles to his lips for a kiss. Kakashi was swaying very slightly, a small tremble going through his form. It was normal as his heat grew stronger.
“Do you want to… explore me?”
Kakashi breathed a laugh. “I thought I said I’d do whatever you like, Iruka.”
Iruka looked into his eyes. The gray depths were as dark as a storm. “That’s not the question I asked, Kakashi.”
Kakashi chuckled again. “I mean, I’m not opposed to it.”
That’s not really an answer.
He squeezed his hands. “Kakashi?”
“Yes?”
“Are you being honest with me?”
Kakashi smiled. “I am.”
Iruka returned the smile. “Then go ahead.”
He guided Kakashi’s hands to his waist and the nimble, powerful fingers made short work of the clasp of his flak vest. A flutter of motion shed the garment and it fell to the floor.
“Sorry.” Kakashi started to kneel to pick up the vest, but Iruka caught his elbow.
“Just because I picked up yours doesn’t mean you have to pick up mine.”
Kakashi stiffened slightly. “But wouldn’t that be… disrespectful?”
Iruka gave him a gentle smile. “Everyone has their own process, Kakashi. It’s ok if it’s different.”
Kakashi straightened, but his body remained a little stiff as he said, “Oh.”
I know he’s not a virgin but how experienced is he really?
Iruka thought about Kakashi’s willingness to do anything his partner wanted and not express or explore his own personal desires.
He’s been too submissive. Those books he reads probably has Omegas fawning over Alphas left and right. But being submissive doesn’t mean someone denies themselves and their own preferences.
Iruka reached up, letting a hand cup Kakashi’s masked cheek.
“Please… proceed as you wish,” he said softly, nuzzling Kakashi’s chin. “There is no judgement here and you are safe.”
It was ironic, him telling the mighty Rokudaime that he was safe. Compared to Kakashi, Iruka was powerless. Sure he had his skills, every ninja did, but he certainly wasn’t anywhere near the level required for Hokage status.
But surprisingly, his words seemed to resonate. Kakashi’s dark eyes softened as he placed his hands on Iruka’s waist. Iruka raised his hands up, making it easy for Kakashi to pull his shirt off.
Iruka repressed a shiver as the air hit his now bare skin. He wasn’t cold, he was excited and nervous all at once. He felt his instincts perk, hoping he was a pleasing sight for the Omega.
Kakashi walked behind him and Iruka felt him touch the large scar on his back. “Naruto told me about this,” he said softly.
Iruka chuckled. “I’m sure he made the tale more flamboyant than it was.”
“You saved him without hesitation.” There was something far away in Kakashi’s voice.. “At that time, many wouldn’t have thrown themselves in harm’s way for Naruto. You dove in front of a fuma shuriken to save him. And if this had struck even a centimeter closer to your spinal cord, you would be paralyzed.”
Iruka looked over his shoulder. “Did you read my medical file?”
Kakashi shook his head. “I’ve seen enough scars over my time, Iruka.”
Kakashi’s fingers spread over the length of the scar and Iruka heard his breath hitch extremely quietly. “You weren’t even bedridden for this, were you?”
“Nope… they kept me overnight and I had restricted movement for a while, but that was it. Naruto helped me out with taking care of my house when the injury was at its worst.”
Kakashi sighed. “You were lucky.”
There it was, that far away sound again. Iruka turned slightly. “You’re blaming yourself for something.”
If Kakashi hadn’t been in heat, he would have probably gone rigid and quickly diverted the topic of conversation.
But heat made Omegas, in a sense, defenseless. And Iruka felt Kakashi wrap his arms around him and drop his nose into his neck, the softest of whimpers escaping him.
“Hey,” Iruka said worriedly, bringing one hand up to clasp Kakashi’s. “Are you all right? What’s wrong?”
He felt Kakashi sigh against him and shift. “It’s nothing.”
Iruka did not miss that Kakashi was looking out the window in the direction of the cherry trees.
“He suffers more than anyone knows.”
The ANBU’s earlier words floated across Iruka’s mind.
What’s going on?
But Iruka knew better than to press the issue. He knew Kakashi was a private person and extremely vulnerable right now.
If Kakashi wanted to share, Iruka was happy to be that safe space. If not, Iruka couldn’t deny that he would forever be curious, but he would respect Kakashi’s boundaries.
Kakashi pressed his nose in Iruka’s hair, inhaling deeply, probably seeking scent as a calming mechanism. Iruka decided to play into the distraction, wanting Kakashi calm and comfortable. “You can take my hair down if you want.”
Kakashi hummed. “Not yet.”
Iruka smirked. “Oh?”
He felt Kakashi nuzzle the back of his neck as his nimble fingers slid down and undid the button and zipper of his trousers. Even through his mask his breath was hot against his skin. “No, first I have something I need to do, Alpha.”
Iruka internally keened on the Omega’s last word and it was only then he realized how turned on he actually was, how hard he was as Kakashi slipped his pants and underwear down, how much heat curled in his belly.
“Can I… ask you to keep your eyes closed?” Kakashi whispered.
Iruka responded by closing his eyes. Kakashi kept one hand on him as he walked to his front. His touch was warmer than before… but if it was from heat or arousal, Iruka couldn’t tell. He listened as Kakashi knelt, heard the mask slip down. Then Kakashi’s hands were on his wrists and he was being guided to a forest of wild hair, soft and inviting.
Iruka felt his heart race and his member throb as Kakashi guided his hips closer then took him in his sweet mouth.
Iruka gasped and gripped Kakashi’s hair, already a shuddering mess. Kakashi was too good, too skilled, his tongue swirling sinfully around him.
“Oh, Kashi! Ugh! Ah!”
Kakashi’s lips drew back sweetly along his length, teasing his head. Iruka could feel himself building up, climbing higher to release. He fisted Kakashi’s hair and Kakashi moaned at the pressure.
Then Kakashi relaxed his throat and fully sheathed Iruka, his tongue rolling.
Iruka gasped in shock, stiffening, his knees going weak. He forced himself to stay on his feet even though he wobbled worryingly. Kakashi’s hands gripped his hips harder, helping him stay upright.
Omegas and Betas hardly ever took Alphas in this way. If their knots swelled too fast, and the other didn’t pull away in time, the knot could dislocate their jaw.
And Iruka could feel his swelling.
His body was pulling towards a climax, but he drew up what little resolve he had left to let go of Kakashi’s hair with his right hand and bring it to his base, stifling himself.
“You… can’t…” he gasped, his groin positively throbbing, his body aching for release.
He felt Kakashi smirk around him and then his fingers wound around his, gently guiding him to let go of his base. Iruka followed with short, choppy breaths as Kakashi placed his hand back in his hair.
What is he doing?!
He didn’t have time to think, though, as Kakashi hummed around him and the vibration sent him reeling.
“Gah! Ho… ngh…”
He could hardly stand as Kakashi started bobbing his head, his tongue so hot and almost velvety against him. Iruka felt himself swelling and he wanted to pull back but Kakashi gripped his hips with nearly bruising force, taking him impossibly deep.
His knot was swelling.
He didn’t want to hurt Kakashi but he was lost to his body’s sensations. He was building up and up, clutching Kakashi’s hair for dear life.
The more he felt his pressure build, the more Kakashi moved. Iruka didn’t know how Kakashi was taking the ever-increasing size of his knot. Iruka wasn’t small… he should be completely blocking Kakashi’s airway by this point.
He was trying to hold himself back, trying to prevent himself from swelling fully, trying to keep himself from coming. He didn’t want to find completion because he was certain he’d dislocate Kakashi’s jaw, that Kakashi would be painfully locked around him, and then Iruka would would be absolutely mortified.
He didn’t have time to try pulling away again, because Kakashi rolled his tongue then twisted just so and Iruka’s knot exploded, shooting ropes of seed down Kakashi’s throat.
Iruka threw his head back with a gasp, his vision changing from black to white as he released again and again, Kakashi drinking him down without hesitation.
“Holy shit…” Iruka muttered as he fought to catch his breath, feeling Kakashi lick him absolutely clean as he rode his orgasm down. He moved his hands to grip Kakashi’s shoulders as he shuddered. “How did you do that?”
Kakashi chuckled. “The advantage of having memorized over one thousand jutsu,” he said, his voice rough from the abuse his throat just took.
Iruka huffed. He’d assumed, probably like most, that Kakashi’s jutsu arsenal consisted only of jutsu that would be helpful in battle.
Iruka heard Kakashi lick his lips, then a brush of fabric told him his mask was back in place. He opened his eyes, seeing Kakashi looking up at him with fond amusement.
“Well,” Iruka said, after taking a deep breath, “I can honestly say I’ve never experienced that before.”
Kakashi rose, a delicate purr in his chest. The sound pulled at Iruka’s bones and he found himself wanting, needing, craving the Omega. He wasn’t claimed, which meant he needed an Alpha to protect and care for him. He needed a mate, to be big with pup. He needed…
Kakashi was leaning in to nuzzle Iruka’s neck but Iruka stepped back (awkwardly since his trousers and boxers were halfway down his legs), one hand out to block Kakashi from coming closer. He found he was breathing heavily.
“I think…” He swallowed. “I think you need your bite guard. Now.”

Let me know what you think!
Chapter Text
Kakashi also took a step back, a fondness in his eyes. “I knew I didn’t make a mistake choosing you,” he said softly, a warmth in his voice that was probably there due to heat. “You have a very high sense of honor.”
Iruka trembled at the compliment. “Well, that’s not what we’re here for.”
But I wouldn’t protest if you said it was.
Iruka pushed his thoughts back. Kakashi’s scent was clearly affecting him and not letting him be fully rational, since thoughts of mating were clogging his mind.
He should have put the bite guard on before we even started. He apparently has more trust in me than I do in myself.
Kakashi walked over to the nightstand and opened the bottom drawer, pulling out a large black box. “I have many collars to chose from,” he said, setting it on the bed. “Would you like to select one for me?”
Iruka kicked out of his pants and boxers… they wouldn’t be needed for the coming activities… and walked over. But he placed himself on the other side of the bed, purposely putting a barrier between himself and the Omega. Kakashi chuckled softly at his action and pushed the box over to him.
Iruka undid the fastening and opened it. Lying inside were at least a dozen collars. They all seemed to be made of leather. There was a plain brown one with a simple fastening. A black one with studs and lace closure. One wide enough it would cover his entire neck. Another was just wide enough to prevent a bite on the sensitive scent gland. Some were plain, others had a ring for grabbing or attaching a leash.
After he’d taken each collar out, he noticed there was a burgundy velvet box at the bottom. “What’s this?” he asked, taking it out.
Kakashi smiled. “You can open it.”
Iruka did and he gasped.
The velvet box held a collar. But it wasn’t just another collar.
It was absolutely extraordinary.
It was made of silver and studded with beautiful deep blue sapphires. The clasp on the back was extremely smooth and wouldn’t dig or chaff. There was a ring on the front that Iruka had one or two ideas for.
He ran a finger over it lightly. “This is… beautiful.”
“I’ve never worn that one in a heat share before,” Kakashi said.
Iruka looked up at him, eyes wide with disbelief. “Why not?”
Kakashi chuckled. “No Alpha has selected it for me. I think most assumed it was just the bottom of the box or just didn’t realize it was there… no one has inspected my collars to this detail.”
Iruka took the silver collar out of the velvet box. It was clearly expensive and excellently crafted. “I’m almost afraid to ask you to wear this one.”
Kakashi smiled gently and held out his hand. Iruka placed the magnificent collar in his waiting palm and Kakashi slipped it around his neck without hesitation.
Iruka felt his breath catch. The silver against his pale skin was absolutely beautiful.
It would look even more amazing if he didn’t have his mask.
But he wouldn’t dare ask for such a thing. He would absolutely honor Kakashi’s conditions for the heat share.
Iruka cleared his throat and replaced the velvet box and the other collars back in the large black box. After he closed it, Kakashi picked it up and placed it back in the drawer.
“So,” Iruka said, bringing his hand to the back of his neck. “What now?”
“Whatever you like,” Kakashi told him, “though if we keep progressing as quickly as we were, I’m going to require your knot… soon.”
That was when Iruka noticed the faint sheen of sweat that was beginning to collect on Kakashi’s body. And the smell in the room was growing sweeter…
Kakashi was producing slick.
He lowered his hand, looking at him softly. “Then come here.”
Iruka expected Kakashi to walk around the bed. He expected the calm composure he knew Kakashi expressed so well.
He did not expect Kakashi to leap onto the bed, crawl over to him, and nuzzle into the crook of his neck, scenting him with a needy whine.
“Woah! Easy, easy, I’ve got you,” Iruka told him in shocked surprise, wrapping his arms around the trembling shoulders.
“Sorry,” Kakashi mewled. He tried to pull away, but Iruka pulled him closer.
If Omegas had spent a majority of their heats away from an Alpha, they could become attached to the Alpha they shared their next heat with quite quickly. Iruka hadn’t realized how much Kakashi had been holding himself back.
But now, as he held the shaking Rokudaime in his arms, he realized Kakashi needed to be filled sooner than he’d let on.
“It’s all right,” Iruka said gently, moving one arm up and down Kakashi’s spine. “Anything you want me to know?”
He shook his head, still mewling. “Just… I mean… it’s starting to hurt…”
Kakashi has incredible pain tolerance. If he’s saying it’s starting to hurt, he’s probably been feeling mild heat cramps for hours. And they’ll only get worse the longer he stays empty.
“I understand,” Iruka told him softly, placing a feather light kiss on Kakashi’s silver eyelashes.
He laid Kakashi back on the bed. The Omega wrapped his arms around him, panting. “Please…”
“I need to prepare you first, Kakashi.”
Kakashi shook his head stubbornly. “Don’t have to… I can take it…”
“I’m not going to risk hurting you,” Iruka told him, pushing back locks of soft silver hair. “So I’m going to prepare you, okay?”
Kakashi wilted, dropping quickly into submission. It was so fast Iruka couldn’t tell if Kakashi’s instincts had brought him down or if it was what he thought he needed to do.
There will be time to explore that later. But right now, the priority is getting him out of pain.
Iruka placed a finger in his mouth, fully coating it in his saliva. Kakashi whimpered as Iruka brought his hand between Kakashi’s legs and began rubbing his rim.
“Ahh! Iruka… umph!”
Iruka hummed. “You are on edge if this is already stimulating you.” He slipped his finger inside as Kakashi moaned.
He was already so wet inside.
He wasn’t kidding about his natural slick production!
Every Omega’s slick had a unique texture. And Kakashi’s was as smooth as silk, not too thin and just… perfect.
Kakashi’s walls were tight, clutching around Iruka’s finger as if they wanted to drink it down. He pulled his leg up with a whine, already wanting more.
“Easy,” Iruka soothed, running his hand along the smooth leg. “It will happen soon enough, I promise.”
He eased in a second finger, moving and stretching. Kakashi writhed as he opened him, trembling and sweating.
“M-more…”
“Patience,” Iruka hummed, sliding a third finger in. “You’re taking this so well.”
Kakashi trilled at the praise. And in response to Iruka’s words, more slick leaked from him.
Iruka huffed a laugh. “You weren’t kidding about not needing lube.”
Kakashi moved his head side to side restlessly. “Alpha…”
“Hey,” Iruka said, reaching down with his free hand to cup Kakashi’s cheek, his instincts burning. “Look at me. I’ve got you, I’ll take care of you.”
He lowered his lips against Kakashi’s masked ones and felt the kiss returned.
Who knew that kissing through a mask would be so hot?
Even though he only tasted the fabric, he could feel the heat of Kakashi’s mouth. The press of his lips was delicious and seemed to mold against his perfectly.
If he wasn’t wearing the mask, I would know what he tastes like!
Of course, he knew what part of Kakashi tasted like, since he’d licked his cum off his hand, but his mouth would be hot and wet in a completely different way. And then there was his tongue…
Remembering the spectacular way he had used it for him, Iruka could feel himself hardening.
He broke the kiss, a damp spot on Kakashi’s mask from the humidity their mouths had created. Kakashi looked at him with soft eyes and purred.
Iruka’s heart melted as he let his fingers drift into the silver hair. He smiled. “You’re beautiful.”
Kakashi raised his head up, nuzzling Iruka’s nose. His purr faded. “Want you. Want your knot. Need it! Please, Alpha…”
An approving growl in his chest, Iruka straightened and pulled his hand free of Kakashi’s hole. He looked down, seeing his erection proud and pulsing, waiting to find sweet release. He lined himself up and slid inside, Kakashi’s warmth easily welcoming him in.
Iruka couldn’t help but moan as he slipped in because Kakashi felt so good! And it wasn’t because Iruka had been abstinent for a while, but because they truly fit.
Kakashi seemed to feel it too, because a lewd groan rose from his throat and he immediately wrapped his legs around Iruka. Iruka, who had his hands braced on the bed on either side of Kakashi, grunted at the movement.
“S-sorry,” Kakashi slurred, turning his head away and moving his arms above him, his hands fisting nervously.
“No, it’s… okay,” Iruka told him with a gasp. “I just… need a moment to… adjust. Otherwise it’ll be too quick for both of us.”
Iruka forced his breathing to slow so that he could concentrate. It wouldn’t take long for him to, only a few seconds. And once he was ready, he moved.
It was slow, easy, almost like a dance. Kakashi was moaning underneath him in time with his slow thrusts, low and pleasant. He held no tension in his body, available for anything Iruka chose to do.
The sweetness emanating from Kakashi grew as they moved. His scent would grow as his heat commenced, the pheromones mixing with his slick and sweat. It would drown out the aromas of the first spring rain and faint ozone that usually clung to Kakashi’s skin. It would rise up and stick to Iruka, binding him to this Omega who needed him, this Omega who wanted him.
And Iruka wanted him.
Iruka increased his rhythm, the tightness around him aiding him easily as he rose higher towards his climax. He braced his hands on either side of the bed, barely registering the softness of the blanket, not wanting to use Kakashi as his stabilizer… yet.
Kakashi had kept his legs around Iruka’s waist and as Iruka leaned in, taking himself even deeper inside, he felt the pale calves grip him desperately.
It did things to him.
And he felt his knot begin to bloom.
A sob of relief burst from Kakashi’s chest as Iruka’s still-filling knot moved through him.
Iruka’s knees pushed into the mattress and he made sure his feet had good purchase on the floor. He could hear the blood surging through their veins, their heartbeats increasing, their breaths quickening. Kakashi’s length was tall and twitching between them as they moved, flicking precum across their chests.
Iruka leaned down, nosing Kakashi’s masked neck, his hot breath moistening the silver collar. His own groans of pleasure tickled Kakashi’s ear, which made the Omega shiver.
And Iruka felt the shiver against his knot and liked it.
He heard himself growl in approval. Kakashi moaned in his ear, nuzzling his cheek.
“Alpha…”
That did it… Iruka’s knot erupted, spreading and pressing hard against Kakashi’s walls, spilling so much seed as Iruka groaned. Kakashi cried out as the sensation brought him to completion and his own wetness shot out, covering his pale chest. Iruka felt him locking his legs around him desperately, as if he could pull Iruka in deeper than he already was.
Iruka reached up, moving a few hairs out of his face… his ponytail had failed against the more intense rhythm. He then cupped Kakashi’s cheek again. The Omega had his eyes closed, a look of calm fulfillment on his flushed face.
“How do you feel?”
Kakashi opened his eyes, pupils slightly dilated from his orgasm. “Good.” He huffed a surprised laugh. “You’re really good.”
Iruka chuckled. “Oh, Kakashi. If you think that was good, just wait.”
Kakashi’s eyes widened slightly and Iruka saw his lips part beneath the mask.
“I’m going to give you a heat to remember,” he whispered, placing a soft kiss on his forehead. “You won’t want another Alpha after me.”
“I already don’t.”
It was probably just their instincts talking, because heat made things weird, but right now, Iruka didn’t care.
All that mattered was Kakashi. All that mattered was taking care of him, protecting him, providing for him during this vulnerable time.
He pulled back slowly, rubbing their noses together. “I am going to give you an unforgettable experience, Kakashi. Do you trust me?”
Kakashi trilled softly. “I always have.”

Chapter Text
When Iruka’s knot waned enough for him to pull out that he realized that his chest was also covered in Kakashi’s cum.
The Rokudaime grinned sheepishly. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be,” Iruka said with a chuckle. “Sex is messy. That’s okay.”
Kakashi closed his eyes, stretching a little. “I feel a lot better now.”
“I’m glad,” Iruka told him. “Why don’t you lie back and rest while I get a cloth to clean us up?”
Kakashi moved to sit up. “I can do it.”
Iruka put his hand on his shoulder. “No,” he said, keeping his voice gentle. “It’s an Alpha’s responsibility to take care of an Omega in heat.”
Kakashi looked at him. “I don’t expect that. I fully realize you’re doing me a favor, sensei.”
“No sensei, Hokage-sama,” Iruka reminded him with a wink.
Kakashi chuckled. “Sorry.”
Iruka smiled. “I’ll be right back.”
Iruka went into the bathroom, finding a neat stack of washcloths underneath the sink. He took one out and wet it with warm water. He then went back into the bedroom, finding that Kakashi had sat up. He knelt beside him and cleaned his chest before taking care of the mess on his own. Once that was done, he pulled out two bottles of water and handed one to Kakashi, who raised an eyebrow.
“You might not be thirsty right now, but you need to stay hydrated,” Iruka told him, twisting the cap off his bottle. “We both do.”
He turned his back. Kakashi huffed a light chuckle. “I can drink through my mask, Iruka.”
“I don’t want you to have to do that,” Iruka told him. “I don’t mind not looking.”
“Aren’t you curious?” Kakashi asked impishly.
Iruka laughed. “The entire village is… especially since you became Hokage! Do you know how much the paparazzi would pay for a photo of your face?”
Kakashi snickered. “I have to dodge cameras more than I have to dodge would-be assassins.”
Iruka choked on his water. “Was… that supposed to be funny?”
Kakashi hesitated. “Yes?”
Iruka sighed. “I know being Hokage puts you at higher risk of assassination and I don’t think it’s anything to joke about.”
“Oh. Sorry.” He heard Kakashi swallow down some water and then, in a small voice ask, “Have I… ruined the mood?”
Iruka shook his head. “No.”
“Good. Because… I’m… um…”
“Already?”
A sheepish chuckle. “Yeah.”
Well, I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. Some Omegas don’t have long periods between their waves at the start of a heat.
“Tell me when you have your mask in place.”
Even though he could hear the soft rustle of fabric, Iruka liked having as much verbal communication as possible with Kakashi… especially considering his supposed lack of boundaries.
“It’s up.”
Iruka turned around and was surprised to see Kakashi already covered in a light sweat, his skin pink from arousal and his length was already out and dripping precum. He chuckled. “I can see that.”
Kakashi smiled awkwardly and it was adorably cute. “I’m sorry… it’s been a long time since I shared a heat and your smell is… enticing.”
“Are your waves usually this close together?”
Kakashi’s gaze drifted away. “Not when I’m alone…”
“I see. That’s normal.”
Kakashi replaced the cap on his water bottle. “I just… don’t like being… needy.”
Iruka placed a gentle hand on his knee, an innocent, supportive touch. “But you are right now. And that’s okay.”
Kakashi looked at him. “If this ends up being… too much for you, I can finish my heat alone. And I won’t hold it against you.”
Though his words hurt Iruka’s heart, because he was learning just how little the Rokudaime thought of himself, he tried to lighten the mood with humor. He gave Kakashi a crooked grin. “Already doubting my endurance, are you?”
The attempt failed, though, as Kakashi’s eyes shot wide open and his whole body tensed. “What? No! I would never —”
Iruka shifted onto his knees. “Hey, woah, it’s okay, I was only kidding.”
Kakashi was trembling.
Iruka took his water bottle out of his hand and placed both of them on the nightstand. He then took both of Kakashi’s hands in his own, moving his thumb comfortingly over his knuckles. “I’m not going to leave. I already told you I’m going to give you a heat to remember. I’m not going to back out simply because you need a lot. That’s not fair and it’s not kind.”
Has anyone left you before?
He could tell that Kakashi was biting his lower lip, could hear his heartbeat surging. Alphas generally prided themselves on their sexual endurance, so for him to think that he insulted Iruka’s, even accidentally, could be enough to drive another Alpha away.
But Iruka wasn’t just another Alpha.
And he was willing to prove it.
He rose and sat beside Kakashi, wrapping him in a one-arm hug, letting him lean against him as he rubbed his arm.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss into the fringe of Kakashi’s hair.
Kakashi whimpered.
“I know,” Iruka said, traveling down to kiss Kakashi’s clothed neck right under his jaw. “I’m here for you. I’ll take care of you.”
Kakashi’s breath hitched. “Alpha…”
Iruka hummed. “I love the way you say that.”
He brought one hand up to the back of Kakashi’s neck and the other on his shoulder and gently pushed him back on the bed, angling him so that his head could lie on the pillow. He pressed his lips against Kakashi’s masked ones, finding the Omega responsive and returning the pressure. Iruka curled his fingers in Kakashi’s hair, pulling a little as a test, and it won him Kakashi moaning into his mouth.
Well, he certainly liked that!
Iruka hummed approvingly, grinding his body against him. Kakashi wrapped his arms around him, pulling him close.
“Please…” he whispered once their lips separated.
Iruka cupped his cheek. “Are you willing to get on your hands and knees for me?”
Kakashi nodded and started to roll over. Iruka moved out of his way, but kept a light, supportive hand on Kakashi’s back. He slinked behind him, admiring the way his waist narrowed as he ran his hands along it.
I always knew he was thin, but I didn’t realize how much bulk his clothes added.
He leaned forward, pressing a kiss to the small of Kakashi’s back, finding the skin there especially soft. Kakashi shivered and Iruka rubbed his hip, seeing more slick dribble down Kakashi’s inner thigh. The sweet scent of heat and desire rose higher in the air and Iruka inhaled it deeply.
“Ready?”
Kakashi nodded.
Iruka rose up and positioned himself. Because of their earlier activity, Kakashi was still open and ready. He slid easily inside him, Kakashi crying out with relief as he entered him.
Iruka folded himself over Kakashi’s back, one hand supporting his weight on the bed while the other snaked across the pale torso. He could feel his bulge inside and he pressed a little, making Kakashi gasp and shiver. His walls clutched Iruka and he moaned at how good the tightness was.
“You feel good, Kashi. Really good.”
Kakashi trilled at the praise and wiggled a little, making Iruka gasp. Heat rushed through his veins at the sensation and he curled his fingers in the fluffy blanket to steady himself.
He started to move, slowly and easily, eliciting soft sounds from Kakashi’s throat. He never knew Kakashi could make such sounds and he had to admit to himself he actually didn’t want anyone else to hear them.
These moans, groans, and gasps should only be for him. No one else should have the privilege, only him!
Calm down… you’re not mating the man! This is just a favor between friends. Right. Just a favor between friends.
Wait…
Does he… actually see me as a friend? Or just a comrade? Or just a trusted shinobi who works under his command? Someone who wouldn’t brag about his knot filling the powerful Rokudaime? I will definitely keep all of this private, this is for no one to know but us, but…
“Iruka… is everything okay?”
Iruka blinked, realizing he’d been so lost in his thoughts that he’d stopped moving. He’d just been sitting penis-deep in Kakashi, completely motionless, for… well, he didn’t actually know how long.
He shook his head and cleared his throat.
Get it together, Iruka!
“Oh my gosh, Kakashi, I’m sorry!”
Kakashi twisted his head. “If you’re having second thoughts, it’s okay.”
Kakashi’s body was warm from elevated temperature and covered in a light sweat. His body trembled with want for a knot. His scent screamed of heat.
And he wasn’t begging to be taken. He wasn’t shouting for Iruka’s knot.
Instead, he was making sure that Iruka was all right. He certainly commanded his instincts well to be able to curb them to the point of telling an Alpha it was okay to pull out and leave.
It was respectful. It was kind.
It was who Kakashi was.
Iruka smiled softly and placed a light kiss between Kakashi’s shoulder blades. “I’m not going anywhere,” he whispered.
Kakashi shivered and his fingers fisted the sheets. He moved forward, Iruka’s length slipping out of his hole. Iruka bit back a cry of disappointment at the separation. His body called for the Omega, but that wasn’t important right now. It was completely secondary to his concern as Kakashi turned around to face him.
“I’m sorry, Kashi. I got wrapped up in my thoughts. Please forgive me.”
Kakashi looked at him. “Why did you agree to heat share with me, Iruka?”
That… was not a question Iruka had expected.
“Huh?”
“Why did you agree to heat share with me?” he repeated. “Did you… feel obligated?”
“Kakashi, why are you asking a question like that now?”
“Because you stopped.” Kakashi crossed his legs and lowered his arms onto them, modestly but discreetly covering himself. “Did you feel obligated?” he asked again. “Because I’m… the Hokage?”
His words were heavy and his hair obscured his eyes as he looked down.
Iruka scooted forward. “I didn’t say yes because you’re the Hokage.”
He looked up, his perfect gray eyes questioning. “Are you sure? A few partners in my past I know said yes because they wanted to say they fucked Sharingan no Kakashi. I knew that and I accepted it, but now…”
Iruka reached forward and cupped Kakashi’s cheek. “You said yourself I just see you as Kakashi. And that’s why I said yes. You’re someone I can trust, too.”
Kakashi shuddered. Iruka knew heat could mess with an Omega’s emotions because of the hormonal changes. He shifted so that he could sit beside him and he wrapped his arms around him in a sideways hug… a little awkward, but hopefully still grounding and calming.
“Kakashi?”
“Hmm?”
“Were you ever… mistreated by any of your previous partners?”
“No. Nothing like that ever happened.”
Relief filled Iruka’s soul. “Okay. I just didn’t want to… accidentally trigger a bad experience or anything like that.”
And I wanted to make sure no one ever dishonored you.
He rubbed his hand down Kakashi’s arm and was surprised to feel him lean against him.
He really likes to be touched.
“You’re kind to worry, though.”
Iruka smiled. “I’m a professional worry wart… just ask Naruto.”
Kakashi chuckled softly.
“I’m sorry I stopped. It won’t happen again. I promise.”
“It’s all right.”
Iruka threaded his fingers through Kakashi’s hair. “Do you want to get back to it?”
Kakashi inhaled and started to straighten. “If you like.”
“Wait.” Iruka tightened his hold slightly, stopping him. “What do you want, Kashi?”
Kakashi shivered. “Could you… hold me?”
His voice was small and uncertain.
Iruka smiled softly. “Come here.”
He laid back on the bed, bringing Kakashi with him. The Omega laid against his chest, one arm stretched across, tucking his nose up under Iruka’s ear. His collar was cold against his skin but Iruka didn’t care. He wrapped his arms around Kakashi, their legs tangled together. He could feel Kakashi’s breath on his throat, feel his heart beat against his chest.
He needs reassurance. He needs intimacy.
Iruka would give Kakashi whatever he needed, whatever he wanted.
So no matter how much the desire in his belly burned, no matter how much his knot let him know it desired release, Iruka would ignore it.
Kakashi was the priority.
And Iruka wouldn’t change that.

Chapter Text
After some ample cuddling and filling Kakashi two more times with his knot, Iruka slipped away to the kitchen to grab food for them. They needed fuel for the night that was ahead.
Knowing that most Omegas had sensitive stomachs during their heats, he scrambled some eggs (one of the few things he could actually cook) and then filled two bowls with warm rice from the rice cooker. He mixed the egg with the rice, then grabbed a couple sets of chopsticks. He knew he’d have to take all their meals upstairs… Kakashi wouldn’t venture away from his room during his heat. It was common for Omegas to do that, since heat left them vulnerable and the waves took so much out of them.
As he made his way up the stairs, he heard a soft moan.
Again? Why has this next wave hit so soon?
He moved faster, opened the door and, stopped dead in his tracks.
Kakashi was kneeling on the bed, braced against one arm, while the other had two fingers deep in his hole.
Oh that’s… hot!
Iruka had never been away from an Omega in heat long enough to miss the start of a wave. Some Omegas wouldn’t even feel another wave until the Alpha they were sharing with was in their presence again. And others wouldn’t even be able to get off again without that knot.
Kakashi shuddered, a lewd groan coming from his masked lips as his eyes fluttered. Iruka knew he was stroking his prostate, finding that sweet spot that could produce so much pleasure for a male Omega.
(And some male Alphas as well, if they were into that.)
Well, we won’t be eating now, that’s for sure!
Iruka walked over to the nightstand and set the bowls down, but he couldn’t take his eyes off the sensual picture the Rokudaime was giving.
“Alpha…” Kakashi panted, his fingers curling deeper.
“Mmm,” Iruka hummed, a strange mix of humor and arousal coursing through him. “Couldn’t wait, could you?”
Kakashi gasped, his body flushing. “I need… please…”
Iruka sat on the edge of the bed. “I think I want to watch this time.”
Kakashi whined.
Iruka leaned forward, his lips in Kakashi’s ear. “You started without me. I’m not sure how I feel about that. How should I feel about that, Kashi?”
Kakashi whimpered. “I’m… I’m sorry…”
Iruka reached up, tucking a few strands of silver hair behind his ear. “You don’t have to be sorry. Do you even know how beautiful you look right now?”
Kakashi’s breathing stuttered.
“It’s true. I’d love to watch how you touch yourself, see what you like. I’d love to see you bring yourself to completion.” He rubbed the small of Kakashi’s back. “Is that okay?”
The Rokudaime nodded. “Yes,” he gasped.
“And you’re being honest with me, right?”
He nodded again. “Yes.”
Iruka smiled and nuzzled his ear. “Good.”
Kakashi shivered.
Iruka pulled back slightly, but kept his hand on Kakashi’s back. “Don’t finish too quickly, though. I want to enjoy this.”
Kakashi bit his lip and removed his fingers from his hole with a wet squelch. Immediately the sweet, sweet scent of slick hit the air full force… so much so that Iruka actually gasped.
I wonder if heaven smells like this…
Kakashi seemed to be taking time to catch his breath, even as his body trembled with arousal, completely out of his control. Iruka could hear his heartbeat surging and could feel the pulsing of heat in his own groin.
“I want to know you, Kashi. Do you like to be loud or quiet?”
“Quiet,” he whispered. “Safe.”
Iruka knew what he meant. It wasn’t uncommon for Omegas to want to be quiet because if they were loud in their heat, their cry carried for miles, a cry that could only be heard by a rutting Alpha. And if Alphas came running, not only could they be too rough on the poor Omega, but they could brawl, competing for who would get to take the Omega. And if they were already with an Alpha, it could be seen as a sign of rejection from the Omega, especially if one wanted to get with pup and only wanted the strongest Alpha to mate.
Iruka moved on the bed in front of Kakashi and took his face gently in his hands. “I won’t judge you for your sounds,” he said softly.
Kakashi let out a choked sound.
“I mean it. You’re safe with me. I’ll even erect a barrier if you like.”
“ ‘t’s already in place…” Kakashi slurred, his body trembling.
Iruka nodded. “You’re free with me, Kashi. Do what you like. If you want me to fight for you, I will. If you want to be loud, I will listen. If you want to be quiet, I’ll still be here.”
After he finished speaking, much to his shock, Kakashi scooted forward and leaned against him. He pressed his sensitive nose against Iruka’s bronze chest and inhaled deeply.
“Don’t want another,” he mumbled. “Chose you for a reason.”
Iruka smiled, feeling himself puff proudly. He couldn’t help it… his instincts loved hearing the Omega wanted him and only him.
Maybe he’d even want him forever…
And that thought is exactly why Omegas wear collars!
Kakashi leaned back, his body glistening with sweat. Iruka’s heart sped up at the anticipation of what he was about to witness.
I wonder what he’ll do…
And then Kakashi brought his trembling fingers in front of him to form a very familiar sign.
“Kage bunshin no jutsu…” he whispered shakily.
Iruka’s breath caught as the shadow clone popped into existence. Not only was the use of a clone a tantalizing idea, but the clone itself was amazing.
Because not only was it fully clothed in Kakashi’s preferred uniform, it wasn’t in heat!
Iruka swallowed. It was a feat that was nearly unheard of.
He is really talented!
He moved back to the edge of the bed, giving Kakashi room to work.
The clone came up behind Kakashi, wrapped an arm around him, and nuzzled his ear, bringing its other hand around to rub his abdomen. Iruka thought he saw the clone’s lips move beneath its mask, but any words that were said were clearly meant for Kakashi alone as he whimpered and shuddered. He brought his hand on top of the clone’s, his breathing unsteady and his skin flushed pink as they traveled across his stomach, Kakashi rocking slightly.
As their hands moved, Kakashi shuddered with a quiet groan. He raised his head and fell back, caught easily by the clone’s chest. The clone hummed as Kakashi leaned back against its shoulder, his Adam’s apple bobbing. The clone slipped its hand off his abdomen and reached up, gently caressing Kakashi’s clothed neck, making him whimper and squirm.
Most Omegas were highly sensitive in their neck regions. It was no surprise, considering where they were bitten. But the light touch seemed to make Kakashi melt into such a pile of goo that he dropped his hand away from his abdomen. The clone crooned softly, picked up his hand and laid it back on his strong core of muscle and Kakashi shook as he rode his arousal higher.
Iruka was completely mesmerized. He had never seen Kakashi really accept physical contact of any kind… it was no secret that Naruto was a hugger but even he didn’t hug Kakashi. Even Gai, whose physical boundaries were lax compared to most, didn’t even embrace Kakashi hardly at all.
Does he only like to be touched during sex? Or is it something more?
Kakashi reached down, taking his shaft into his hand. He stroked himself firmly, his thumb playing over his slit. It made Iruka’s breath catch and his heartbeat sore.
Kakashi rutted his hips, whining. The clone shushed him gently, then looked at Iruka.
“He needs something inside.”
“Oh! What does he want?”
The clone gave him a look that said he believed Iruka should have already known the answer. “Anything you chose.”
Iruka gaped. “M-me?”
“Yes, you. He wants you to be a part of this.”
Iruka leaned forward, lightly touching Kakashi’s sweaty calf. “Is that true, Kashi?”
Frantic nodding was his answer.
The clone smirked. “I might know him a bit better than you do, sensei.”
“Uh… right.”
Iruka swung his legs around and slid off the bed, then walked to the amply supplied closet. He had no idea what Kakashi liked so he decided to go with something simple, selecting a curved silicone dildo that had a girth similar to his own.
When Iruka came back to the bed with the toy and a bottle of lube, the clone chuckled. “How typical of you, sensei.”
“I told Kakashi I don’t like that term used in the bedroom.”
“I know. I’m using it intentionally. A boundary line.”
“Oh.”
In other words, no sex with the clone.
“I’m here to assist, nothing more. But I am amused that you think you’ll need that lube.”
Iruka took a half step back. “I am not inserting this dry!”
The clone chuckled. “You misunderstand, sensei. Put the lube down and come here.”
Iruka was a little confused by these instructions, but he had no reason to doubt anything the clone said. So he set the lube down on the nightstand then sat beside Kakashi, who was still shaking and sweating as he continued to stroke himself.
“Put your hand over his hole,” the clone instructed.
Iruka did a double take. “Wh-what?” he stuttered.
“Put your hand over his hole,” the clone repeated calmly.
Iruka swallowed, his mouth suddenly dry, feeling a shiver clutch his spine. Kakashi shifted, changing his angle slightly so that it would be easier for him to do. Iruka reached out slowly, cupping his hole.
The clone smiled beneath its mask and nuzzled Kakashi’s neck, giving a gentle hum. Kakashi’s body spasmed and Iruka gasped as hot liquid burst against his palm.
He… squirts!
Every Omega produced slick. But not every Omega had the skill to actually squirt it when they desired.
And Iruka had never been with one who did. Some could do it if they were Commanded, but not all.
It was a spectacle he had read about, fantasized about, but never expected to experience.
“Wow…”
He pulled his hand away, studying the sticky, white substance that now covered it. His nostrils filled with the sweet scent of heat and a smell that was distinctly unique and utterly Kakashi.
Iruka could have drowned in it and died a happy man right then and there.
It took him a moment to focus enough to actually use the slick to lubricate the dildo. It wasn’t quite enough and Iruka licked his lips.
The clone chuckled. “He can do it again, sensei.”
The heat that curled in Iruka’s belly leapt up like hungry flames licking away a cold chill. He felt himself trembling with excitement as he placed his hand once again over Kakashi’s hole. The clone reached out and barely brushed over the sensitive head of Kakashi’s manhood, sending the Omega reeling. Liquid blasted against Iruka’s palm, more than before.
“Oh, saints, you are breathtaking!”
The clone chuckled as Kakashi whimpered. “Keep talking like that, sensei, and you’ll have him eating out of your hand.”
Its words shocked Iruka enough to stop lubricating the dildo for a brief second, swallowing hard before he continued. The action didn’t go unnoticed and the clone chuckled again.
“I don’t think I’ll be needed now,” it said. It carefully laid Kakashi down against the bed then popped out of existence.
Kakashi removed his hand from playing with himself to stop and take a moment to breathe and absorb the clone’s memories. Iruka could smell how on edge he was, how close an orgasm was to the surface.
He was choosing to deny himself… Iruka could see how hard he was fighting to come down.
To show support, Iruka laid a gentle hand on his leg. “Well done, Kashi. You’re making this… quite enjoyable.”
Kakashi held out his hand, his fingers trembling slightly. Iruka obediently handed him the toy and Kakashi drew his legs up. Iruka could actually see the outside muscles clenching and releasing, wanting to be wrapped around something.
Beautiful…
Kakashi angled the toy and slowly inserted it, pushing it in all the way with a grunt.
“Easy!” Iruka warned. “Don’t hurt yourself.”
Kakashi was probably open enough from their earlier activities and his own ministrations that that wasn’t a real danger, but Iruka didn’t want to take any chances. Much as he enjoyed watching the dildo slide into Kakashi’s wanting hole, he wanted this to be enjoyable for both of them.
Kakashi gave a slight shake of his head and Iruka knew that meant he was all right. Words were beyond the Omega at the moment. He watched Kakashi drag the toy back and forth a few times, feeling his own body grow hot.
This was better than he imagined it would be! The way Kakashi dragged and pressed the toy inside gave Iruka more insight to the sensations he liked and Iruka was happily taking it all in.
Kakashi stopped, letting out a needy whine. Iruka leaned forward, concerned.
“What do you need?”
Kakashi closed his eyes and Iruka could see his lips working under his mask. But words never came and he whimpered.
“It’s all right,” Iruka soothed. “I think I understand.”
He scooted forward and wrapped Kakashi in his arms the way the clone had held him. The Omega immediately leaned against him, his masked nose reaching for his neck.
“Okay, okay,” Iruka said gently. He leaned forward, giving Kakashi better access to the gland in his neck. He clearly needed to scent him and Iruka wouldn’t deny him anything.
Kakashi inhaled deeply, thrusting the toy in at the same time. Iruka moved his nose into Kakashi’s sweaty hair, inhaling the sweet and salty fragrance he found there and hummed in satisfaction.
Kakashi responded to the vibration in his body by bucking his hips and thrusting the toy more… his mouth open, moisture from the hungry cavern dampening the fabric.
I wish I could see what he looks like under that mask!
Of course, he would never ask for anything like that. He was just happy to be sharing this time with him.
The sharp pulsing of his member suddenly blasted to the forefront, so harsh that Iruka heard himself gasp. It had been ignored, forgotten and neglected, and it would tolerate it no more.
His hand found his hard flesh and he pumped himself, finding himself doing it in time with Kakashi’s own thrusts.
Their mutual grunts and groans melded together like a symphony. Kakashi was panting desperately against him, curling towards him and bringing his legs higher. Iruka growled, possessive as he gripped Kakashi tighter. That seemed to send Kakashi over the edge and he cried out, his spend shooting out and covering Iruka’s legs.
Feeling Kakashi’s hot cum on his skin shook Iruka to his very core. It was the last bit he needed and he reached his own climax, his knot popping with ropes of seed spilling out and over Kakashi’s belly.
Iruka moaned at his release, riding the pleasurable wave as it washed over him. He closed his eyes, taking a moment to collect himself.
“Kashi, that was —”
He broke off, detecting a new scent. It was heavy and… sad.
And that’s when he realized his ears had been ringing from his orgasm and now that it was fading, he was shocked, and a little frightened, by what he could now hear.
Kakashi was crying.
Notes:
Whelp, I started out super confident about this chapter and now I’m not sure it turned out the way I wanted it. Maybe it’s because all this smut writing is new to me… who knows? I hope you enjoyed it, dear reader, and I hope you stick around to see this story to its conclusion 🩷
Chapter Text
Before Iruka could even think, he felt Kakashi in his arms. His Alpha instincts screamed to care for and comfort the Omega.
But Kakashi started to wriggle away and sniffed.
“Don’t… touch me…”
Iruka immediately released him, moving back to the foot of the bed. “Oh, shit! Oh, Kakashi… I’m sorry! What did I do wrong?”
One of Kakashi’s hands moved to cover his eyes while the other laid across his abdomen. He swallowed. “It’s… it’s nothing, sensei.”
Sensei…
That one word told Iruka plenty.
He got up and went to the bathroom, noticing that Kakashi had two yukata hanging on the hook next to the shower. He tied one around himself then brought the other to Kakashi, draping it over his most intimate area. He knew his actions would convey to the Omega that he understood, that they needed to pause.
Knowing Kakashi needed space right now, Iruka backed up, not sitting on the bed. He waited as Kakashi worked to control his tears.
“Do you want me to leave?”
He was careful to keep his voice calm and respectful. It didn’t matter how much he wanted to stay, how much he didn’t want to abandon Kakashi as he neared the height of his heat.
He had clearly messed up and he needed to show Kakashi he was willing to do the honorable thing and leave if the Omega wished it.
Kakashi pinched the bridge of his nose with a soft sniffle. “No,” he said softly. “Just… give me a moment to collect myself, please.”
Iruka cleared his throat. “Right.”
He dropped his gaze respectfully to the floor, forcing himself not to stare at the Omega. His insides trembled, his anxiety rising. He wracked his brain, trying to figure out what the hell it was that he’d done wrong.
“Relax, Iruka.” Kakashi cleared his throat and lowered his hand. “I’m all right.”
Iruka looked up. “What happened? What did I do wrong?”
Kakashi shook his head. “Nothing.” He sat up, clutching the yukata modestly around himself.
Iruka took a step forward. “It must’ve been something! Was it watching you complete yourself?”
Kakashi gave a soft smile. “Are you forgetting I agreed to that?”
“No! But, um, I wasn’t expecting… I mean…”
“I wasn’t expecting it either, sensei.” Kakashi sighed. “Strange… I have never experienced anything like that before.”
“Are you… all right?”
Kakashi smiled. “Yes.”
Iruka took another hesitant step forward. “Are you sure?”
Kakashi chuckled. “You can sit by me, Iruka. I can smell how tense you are.”
Iruka felt his feet moving and he wasn’t entirely sure they moved under his command. His instinct to hold the Omega, to comfort him, was raging wildly within him. He was surprised he wasn’t outwardly trembling as he slowly sat down beside Kakashi, almost — but not quite — close enough to touch.
He fiddled with the edge of his sleeve. “I’m… sorry, Kakashi.”
He cocked his head. “For what?”
Iruka shifted. “For asking you to do something that made you uncomfortable.”
“It didn’t make me uncomfortable, Iruka. I was… quite willing for you to watch me. My reaction after was… well… it surprised me, too.”
Iruka leaned in slightly. “Do you… know why?”
Kakashi sniffed and gave a quick shake of his head, as if to clear it. “Let’s just say I want to take your knots for the remainder of my heat, all right?”
Iruka nodded. “Once again, I’m really sorry for—”
He broke off as Kakashi reached out and took his hand. “There is nothing to apologize for, Iruka. So stop doing it.”
“I just want to take care of you,” Iruka told him, speaking as much from instinct as he was from the heart.
“I know.” Kakashi smiled. “Why don’t you get the food you brought up? Now is as good a time as any to replenish our strength.”
Iruka’s sensitive ears caught the faint growling of Kakashi’s stomach. “Right.”
He stood and collected the bowls, handing one to Kakashi.
“Itadakimasu.”
He turned his back, hearing Kakashi’s mask slide down, but he had barely swallowed his first bite when he heard Kakashi’s mask slide back up again. Out of curiosity, he glanced behind him and nearly dropped his chopsticks in shock when he caught sight of the empty bowl.
“You’re finished already?”
“Yes.” He tilted his head. “Why are you so surprised? Surely Naruto told you at some point in time how quickly I can eat.”
“Well, he’s known for embellishing his stories, so I thought he was exaggerating!”
Kakashi chuckled. “Well, he wasn’t.”
“You shouldn’t eat that fast! Especially in heat! You could get massive cramps!”
Kakashi’s expression softened. “My physical health is in no danger, Iruka, but I appreciate your concern.”
“How did you even learn to do that?”
Kakashi held up two fingers in the victory sign. “Practice!”
Goodness, he is such a dork.
Kakashi lowered his hand. “Finish your food, Iruka. It probably won’t be long before my next wave hits.”
“Right,” he agreed, scooping rice into his mouth.
But as it turned out, Kakashi’s next wave didn’t hit as quickly as the others had. Iruka finished his food, washed their dishes, and cleaned up the nest while Kakashi rested. It was good that he was actually getting some sleep… heat wreaked havoc on an Omega’s body.
If he hadn’t continued to release sweet-smelling pheromones, Iruka would have almost been convinced that Kakashi’s heat had run its course.
From that one mission they had been on years ago, he knew Kakashi usually slept on his back. But now he was curled on his side, the yukata forgotten and tangled underneath him. Iruka leaned over, picking up one of the soft blankets, and began pulling it over Kakashi’s lean body.
The Rokudaime stirred. “‘Ruka?”
“Shh. Go back to sleep.”
Kakashi opened his eye. “Lie with me?”
Iruka smiled. “Sure.”
He tucked himself along Kakashi’s back, effectively spooning him. The Omega wiggled, pressing himself more along the curve of Iruka’s body and hummed contentedly, easily drifting back to sleep.
Iruka knew he should sleep as well… consistently preforming took its toll on him too. But instead, he found he couldn’t help but stare at Kakashi as he slept. The man would age as delicately as a fine wine, everyone knew it, but in sleep he looked so much younger. There were still slight stress lines around his eyes… the pressure of heat was temporary but the burden of the office never went away. And of course, the trials lived of shinobi life left their own unique burdens.
I wish I could take his stress away.
A natural thought from any good Alpha looking after an Omega.
Iruka sighed, moving his thumb over Kakashi’s skin, continuing to hold him as the hours passed and the sky turned dark. He loved breathing in Kakashi’s scent, loved listening to his heart beat. He loved watching his breath fog against the silver collar, loved the smoothness of Kakashi’s skin.
I could stay here forever.
Kakashi shifted a little in his sleep, a lazy hum coming from his throat. Iruka didn’t think much of it but then, a few moments later, Kakashi’s legs twisted.
The next wave is starting.
Iruka crooned gently, knowing that sometimes waking up in a heat cycle could be unpleasant. Kakashi squirmed, a soft whimper escaping his masked lips.
“Shh. I’ve got you. I’m here.”
Kakashi rolled, burying his nose in Iruka’s scent gland. He wasn’t awake, not really, and Iruka wouldn’t rush the process. He made another noncommittal noise in his throat and Iruka chuckled.
There was something quite endearing about dealing with a sleepy Kakashi.
Iruka wrapped his arms around him, holding him close. He could feel the heat starting to rise from Kakashi’s body, signaling that the wave was starting to surge higher. Kakashi mewled, shifting uncomfortably, but seemingly unwilling to pry himself free of Iruka’s arms.
“I know,” Iruka murmured. “I know.”
Kakashi’s legs twisted again and Iruka could hear the pulsing of his groin, could feel his body tense and release as he dreamed of a knot.
Of Iruka’s knot.
He pressed a soft kiss to Kakashi’s scarred eyebrow, the silver hair brushing gently against his lips. He gave a low rumble in his chest, a signal of protection and safety. Kakashi trilled sleepily in response, his eyes finally blinking open.
“Alpha…” he whispered.
Iruka placed a kiss on his cheek, then his tongue licked the outline of his ear, causing Kakashi to tremble with the softest of moans. He peppered quiet kisses down his clothed neck and Kakashi rolled his head back, exposing as much of his neck as the bite collar allowed.
When Iruka pulled back Kakashi looked at him, a deep sense of affection in his dark eyes. It was a look of trust and contentment, a gaze that made Iruka’s Alpha instincts puff proudly.
Slowly enough that Kakashi could protest if he wanted, Iruka rolled him onto his back. The blanket fell away as Iruka straddled his body, one hand on his cheek as he took the masked lips in his once again. His other hand traced down the Omega’s side, feeling the slight dips of his ribs… Kakashi had always been so slender.
Kakashi responded, bowing his back, pushing his body closer to Iruka as they kissed. Iruka pressed his tongue against the fabric and could feel Kakashi doing the same.
He could nearly taste him through the fabric.
Iruka lowered his pelvis, pressing their lengths together. Kakashi’s head fell back as a delicious moan escaped his open mouth. Iruka captured it again, moving his hands to clasp Kakashi’s wrists and bring them over the Omega’s head. Kakashi fell back against the pillows, his body in perfect submission.
Iruka made himself pull back, only then realizing how much he was panting for breath. “Is this… okay?”
Kakashi, who was panting just as much, nodded. “Yes.”
Iruka noticed that, in addition to Kakashi’s verbal, he could actually smell how much he accepted the restraint. And the main emotion was…
Relief.
Omegas were naturally submissive, that was very true. But it didn’t automatically mean they were into restrictions, restraints, or bondage.
Huh…
Even though he had discovered something quite intimate about the Rokudaime, he knew this was not the scene in which to explore it. The mood was soft and delicate and he liked it. It felt right for this point in time and he didn’t want to change it.
He leaned down, nuzzling the fringe of Kakashi’s wild hair… tamer now that he kept it shorter than his jonin days, but it was still a bit of a shaggy mess.
“It’s been a few hours,” he muttered quietly. “I need to prepare you again.”
But as he moved to let go of one of his wrists, Kakashi let out a yelping whine, eyes blown wide, his breath coming in open-mouth gasps.
He didn’t actually say the word, but Iruka knew, without a doubt, his entire reaction meant red.
His heart hammered in his chest as he swallowed down the fear that bubbled up like bile. He had never experienced a reaction like this from a partner.
But he himself had. Once, when he was much younger. He’d let Mizuki talk him into subbing for a scene and had found out quite quickly he was not an Alpha who enjoyed the experience of being knotted. Of course, Mizuki couldn’t just pull out, but he had moved, pressing his knot painfully against Iruka’s prostate enough to drown any attempt at pleasure. That experience taught Iruka a lot about listening to and observing one’s partner.
So he froze, unmoving, knowing he needed to check in and be ready to do whatever Kakashi needed.
“What’s wrong, Kashi? What do you want?”
Kakashi looked at him and swallowed. “Don’t…” he whispered. “Don’t let go…”
“Okay,” Iruka said calmly, willing his racing heart to calm. “Okay.” He tightened his grip just slightly and Kakashi sagged in relief. “But, Kashi…”
Kakashi looked at him.
Iruka sighed. “Your opening… it’ll have contracted down by now. I need to prepare you for my knot… I won’t enter you without…”
Kakashi smiled fondly. “You have so much compassion… in all aspects of your life,” he told him softly. “But you don’t need to worry. Give me… a minute… and I can take your knot again.”
Iruka felt his jaw slacken. “What? How?”
Kakashi smirked and Iruka felt the familiar heat of chakra pulsing up from within Kakashi’s hole.
He’s using chakra to stretch himself!
He huffed a laugh. “Man of a thousand jutsu indeed.”
He leaned forward, wanting to kiss Kakashi again.
“Wait,” Kakashi said incredibly softly.
Iruka pulled back. “Is everything okay?”
Kakashi moved his hand and Iruka released it. He watched as Kakashi brought it down, hooking a finger in his mask. There was a spark of lightning, the ripping of fabric, then the mask was falling away…
Oh…
Kakashi was… breathtaking.
There had been rumors around Konoha for years about what Kakashi really looked like. No other masked ninja had captivated others with the same mystery… Iruka blamed the silver hair.
Kakashi’s skin was absolutely flawless. The small beauty mark under his lip practically begged to be sucked on. But when Kakashi smiled…
…oh, when he smiled…
His canines were clearly fangs, small enough that his mask hid them with no effort, but large enough they could do some damage if he wanted them to. It made him incredibly dangerous and unbelievably sexy.
Iruka jerked himself out of his stupor. “Kakashi!”
“Yes?”
“Your first condition was your mask wouldn’t be removed!”
Kakashi chuckled. “Are you sure about that?”
“Yes!”
“I believe my condition was that you couldn’t remove it,” he said lightly with a wink.
Iruka opened his mouth to protest, but his memory told him Kakashi was right. “Oh…” He tilted his head. “Why?”
Kakashi gazed up at him, his eyes tender. “Do you still want to kiss me?”
Iruka answered the question by locking his lips around Kakashi’s. And finally he was able to feel the softness, the moistness, experience the taste that was utterly Kakashi.
He touched his tongue lightly to the Rokudaime’s lips, wondering if he would be received. Kakashi didn’t pull back, but he didn’t open his mouth.
“Be careful,” he whispered against his lips. “I don’t want to injure you.”
“I’ll be all right,” Iruka breathed back. He kissed the Omega again and this time, when he presented his tongue, he was granted entrance into the wet cavern.
Immediately, he could feel the sharpness of Kakashi’s fangs. He ran his tongue against one lightly, experimentally. He realized Kakashi must have used chakra to block him feeling them when he’d blown him. A fact he very much appreciated!
Kakashi’s tongue snaked over to his and Iruka pressed against it, the wetness and warmth sinking into his soul. He moaned, filled with a happiness and a contentment he had never known.
It was strange.
But right now, he wouldn’t question it. Right now, he would just enjoy.
He rocked his pelvis again as he recaptured Kakashi’s wrist. Kakashi responded with a trill that vibrated his chest, making Iruka press deeper against him. The Rokudaime pulled back, panting.
“Want… your knot…”
“Are you ready?”
Kakashi nodded quickly. His legs twisted underneath him and he whined with desire. “Please…”
Iruka placed a kiss on his adorable beauty mark, circling his tongue around it, eliciting a shiver from Kakashi. The room filled with the sweetness of his slick that he was producing.
“I need to let go,” he whispered, “but I’ll keep a hand on you. Will that be all right?”
He nodded. “Yes.”
Iruka sat up, keeping one hand on the Omega’s knee, noticing that the pale body was covered in a light sweat. He wondered if it was from heat or the close proximity of their bodies.
Perhaps it was both.
Kakashi raised himself up a little to help Iruka line himself up properly. Iruka slid in easily, Kakashi shuddering as he slipped all the way inside. Iruka gasped, gripping the Omega’s knee to keep himself steady.
“Oh, you feel so good, Kashi…”
“Please,” Kakashi whispered. “Please… move…”
“I will, Kashi,” he promised, leaning over him again, pressing a feather light kiss to his long lashes.
Kakashi tilted his chin upwards and Iruka took his mouth once again. As he began to slowly move, he nipped at Kakashi’s lower lip. The Omega inhaled deeply then groaned softly. His tongue grazed Iruka’s top lip and he was helpless against denying him.
After tender moments of kissing and moving, they came together, moaning their mutual release into each other’s mouths. As they fought to catch their breath, Iruka dropped his face down next to Kakashi on the pillow.
“Saints above, Kashi…” he murmured. “You’re amazing.”
Kakashi smiled, his eyes soft. “I should have asked you to heat share years ago.”
Iruka had never known he could come again before his knot waned. But those words sent him keening as he released again… a bit painful because he was empty but the feeling was still so, so good.
Kakashi simply chuckled, wrapped his arms and legs around him, and held him close.

Chapter Text
When Iruka awoke, it was to the sensation of being wrapped in Kakashi’s embrace with his purr soft against his ear. He could feel his knot had waned at some point and had slipped free from Kakashi’s hole. All he could smell was the sweetness of his heat scent… the freshness of spring rain, the slight burn of ozone.
It was bliss.
“Hey,” Kakashi whispered, his voice low and silky.
“Hey,” Iruka said back, shifting slightly. “How… long was I asleep?”
“About an hour.”
Iruka immediately stiffened. “Oh! Kakashi, I’m sorry!”
Kakashi chuckled. “Relax. I haven’t had another wave yet. Besides, you needed some rest.”
“Oh…” he said again, more quietly this time. He settled back into Kakashi’s hold. “Sorry.”
Kakashi smiled against him. “You apologize a lot.”
Iruka huffed a laugh. “I guess I do… sorry about that. Gah!”
Kakashi laughed, light and free. He pulled back and Iruka felt himself shiver slightly at the loss of warmth. He yawned and stretched, trying to hide the tremor, though he doubted Kakashi had missed it. The Rokudaime stood, pulling a few blankets off the bed. They were… well used from their activities and definitely no longer sanitary.
“I can do that,” Iruka told him, sitting up.
Kakashi smiled at him… so strange to see on his bare face. “It’s all right, Iruka. I don’t mind. I’m just going to place these in the corner for now and get some new ones.”
Though Kakashi smelled absolutely amazing, Iruka could smell his own sweaty muskiness and he wrinkled his nose. “I could use a shower.”
Kakashi chuckled. “So could I.”
“You smell perfect,” tumbled out of Iruka’s mouth before he even had a chance to stop it.
A light pink blush covered Kakashi’s pale cheeks. Iruka opened his mouth, but then abruptly closed it.
“You were about to apologize again, weren’t you?”
“No,” he lied.
“Uh huh,” Kakashi smirked, a twinkle in his eye. He sat back down on the bed, pushing his hair back.
“Kakashi?”
“Hmm?”
Iruka pushed himself into more of a sitting position. “Can I… ask you something?”
“Of course.”
Iruka rubbed the back of his neck. “There have been some moments where it seems you like… being restrained.”
Kakashi leaned in. “Does that make you uncomfortable? You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. You know that, right?”
It’s a shame he doesn’t give himself the same consideration.
“Oh no, it isn’t that,” Iruka said with a wave of his hand. “It just… surprised me.”
“Oh? How so?”
“Well, most ninja don’t like to be restrained.”
“Ah. That’s certainly not unexpected.”
“Right.”
Kakashi gave him a sideways glance. “Did my… liking it… shock you?”
“No.” Iruka met his eyes. “Your… need… for it did.”
Kakashi took a deep breath. “I see.”
Iruka gave a smile, trying to lighten the mood that somehow seemed to have unintentionally turned heavy. “I just didn’t expect it from you, that’s all.”
Kakashi’s eyes stayed fixed on the ground, his hands resting on his knees. “Was it really that surprising to you?”
He rubbed the back of his head. “I guess it was.”
“Oh.” Kakashi looked slightly disappointed as he shifted his gaze away. “I thought…” He sighed. “Never mind.”
Iruka sat up fully. “What is it? Have I done something wrong?”
Kakashi waved his hand. “Oh no, not at all. You’re just very insightful so I thought there was a possibility you would… know.”
“I mean, a lot of people who hold a high position like to… surrender control when it comes to pleasure,” Iruka commented. “And it is certainly something that many people enjoy, no matter their presentation. I guess I just assumed you might not like… restraint.”
Kakashi nodded. “I understand. As you said, a lot of ninja don’t.”
“Exactly.”
“I like…” Kakashi trailed off, then shook his head as if to clear it. “Oh, it’s not important, I guess.”
“It matters to you, so it is important.” Iruka leaned forward and touched Kakashi’s arm. “Remember what I said at the start… please be honest with me.”
The Rokudaime took a deep breath and let it out, but didn’t quite sigh. “Because when I’m restrained I’m… not in charge.”
“That makes sense.”
Kakashi chuckled sadly. “You don’t understand.”
Iruka scooted closer to him. “Then tell me.”
Kakashi looked at him, his deep gray eyes suddenly haunting. “I’ve always been in charge, Iruka. Since I was five years old. After my dad… died… I was in charge of taking care of myself. In ANBU I became a captain and led my squad through many dangerous missions. Then when I became a jonin sensei, I was in charge of Team 7. Then came Team Kakashi. After that I was a war captain with hundreds under my command. Now I’m Hokage and the village… and even the Fire Nation itself… rests on my shoulders.”
Iruka realized he had started to rub Kakashi’s arm. His heart felt heavy, feeling the weight the Rokudaime’s words carried. He knew Kakashi hadn’t led the most charmed life… but that was a common story among ninja, himself included.
But the weight of always being counted on, of being in charge, of making decisions… it would drain anyone.
“Is there anything I can do to help?”
Kakashi sighed ruefully. “I doubt it.”
Iruka scooted closer… close enough to brush his nose against his shoulder. “Maybe I can help you forget.”
Kakashi leaned towards him, his head dropping. Iruka reached up with his other hand, petting the silver locks.
“That… would be… nice,” he whispered.
Iruka pressed his nose to his neck, just above the collar. Kakashi whined against his cheek, wanting and needing but not daring to ask.
Iruka hummed deep in his throat, his chest vibrating. “Soon,” he promised. “Very soon.” He slid his hand down to grasp Kakashi’s.
The Omega pulled back slightly, but didn’t retract his hand. “Would you… like to shower first?” he asked softly, pulling back slightly.
Iruka huffed a quiet laugh. “Let’s shower together.” He grinned mischievously. “But before that, maybe we could make things… interesting?”
Kakashi shivered. “Whatever you wish,” he whispered.
Iruka smiled. “Well, if that’s the case…” He leaned over, nuzzling Kakashi’s ear. “Would you let me… explore you?”
Kakashi trembled. “You don’t need —”
“I thought I made it clear when we started,” he said, peppering his neck with kisses, “that I want this to be something we both enjoy.” He shifted, moving to place himself behind the Rokudaime, relishing in the surge of Kakashi’s blood and his heightened breathing as he rubbed a hand along the pale shoulder. “I know you’re not in a wave right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have pleasure. You deserve it.”He pressed another gentle kiss on his shoulder. “Can I give you that pleasure, Kashi?”
Kakashi quivered.
“Yes.”
Iruka hummed in satisfaction. “Good.” He brought his hands up and around Kakashi, careful to avoid his nipples, and provided gentle pressure until he leaned back against him. He then lifted his fingers to caress Kakashi’s cheek as he settled against him.
“You’re so beautiful. So beautiful.” He pulled back slightly. “Or do you prefer to be called handsome?”
“I…” Kakashi trailed off, biting his lip.
“You were about to say you don’t have a preference, weren’t you?”
Kakashi swallowed.
“But you know I wouldn’t have liked that.”
He nodded.
“Thank you for remembering.” He reached up, brushing soft silver hair behind his ear. “I will reward that. Just surrender yourself to me. Just for a little while. I’ll take care of you, you’ll be safe.” He pulled him closer. “Will you do that for me, Kashi?”
Kakashi’s body had not stopped quaking. But he wasn’t tense. He made a sound that was not quite a mewl, stretching back into Iruka’s chest. The Omega naturally ran cooler than he did, but his skin was still warm like a summer breeze. He was soft yet firm with muscle… it was clear he still trained diligently, even if he did think he was getting a belly.
(He wasn’t, he was as chiseled as ever, but Iruka couldn’t help but think a small belly would be adorable on Kakashi.)
“That’s it, Kashi, just relax into it and let me idolize you.”
I remember he liked…
Iruka ran a hand lightly over Kakashi’s belly. The Omega squirmed and gasped in his arms, his hand immediately covering Iruka’s and clutching it desperately as his member rose to life.
Iruka chuckled, rumbling deep in his chest. “I’m pleased to see that my touch can arouse you so much. But don’t come. Not until I tell you.”
Kakashi whined.
“What’s your color, Kashi?”
“G-green.”
Iruka smiled. “Very good,” he whispered, his tongue drawing a line along the outside of Kakashi’s ear.
The Rokudaime whined and jerked his head side to side. “Y-your knot…” he gasped. “Please, I —”
“Shhh,” Iruka soothed him. He knew his own anatomy was making its arousal known. He stroked Kakashi’s chin. “This isn’t for me. This isn’t about my knot. This is solely about your pleasure. Your feelings. Your release.” He moved his hand to brush against the skin of his neck that the collar didn’t cover. Kakashi’s cheeks turned bright pink at the touch and he panted a bit. Omegas were so very sensitive to touch on their necks.
Maybe that’s why Kakashi wears a mask.
Iruka brought Kakashi back gently, moving him to sit slightly awkwardly in his lap as he pulled the pale lips against his. Kakashi was more than receptive, wrapping his arms around Iruka’s head. Their tongues danced around each other, searching, seeking, feeling.
“Saints, you’re divine!” Iruka breathed when he finally came up for air.
That same pink blush deepened as Kakashi dipped his head down. Iruka touched his chin, guiding him to look up.
“No. Let me see you. Please.”
Kakashi followed his lead and Iruka cupped his cheek.
“You never told me if you prefer to be called beautiful or handsome.”
“I don’t —”
“You should care,” Iruka said softly, letting his thumb lightly pull Kakashi’s bottom lip. “But you don’t have to tell me in words.”
“What?”
Iruka smiled. “You’re handsome.”
Kakashi’s lips curled in a small smile.
“You’re beautiful.”
Kakashi pulled his knees up a little, squirming slightly. He dipped his head shyly and Iruka chuckled.
“There it is. You like it when I say you’re beautiful.”
He ran his hand up and down Kakashi’s slender back, feeling the light sheen of sweat that coated his milky skin. “So beautiful. I’m so lucky I get to see you like this.”
No one else should see you like this.
“Now… let me revel in your beauty by seeing you find your pleasure,” he whispered. He tightened his arm around Kakashi’s back to support him as he slid his other hand down, two fingers dipping into his warm hole.
Kakashi threw his head back in a gasp, his body trembling in response to Iruka’s intrusion. Iruka listened to his panting and the squelch of his slick as he searched for the sensitive bundle of nerves that many male Omegas enjoyed being stimulated.
There was no doubt when he found it. Kakashi curled in on himself, one hand gripping Iruka’s shoulder desperately while the other covered his mouth. His cheeks were flushed even deeper as he moaned into his hand.
Iruka smirked, curling his fingers just so and pumping them, drawing out the pleasing sensation for him. The powerful Rokudaime was putty in his hands as he squirmed, his hips moving to thrust slightly, though Iruka wasn’t sure how intentional the movement was.
Suddenly, Kakashi’s arm shot out, stopping Iruka’s ministrations as he gripped his elbow.
“Y-y…”
Iruka immediately stilled, knowing that Kakashi was trying to say “yellow”.
“What’s wrong?” he asked. “Do you not like it? Does it hurt?”
Kakashi shook his head, fighting to catch his breath. Iruka waited patiently.
“You… told me not to come,” he whispered, not meeting his eyes. “And… if you… keep doing that… I will.”
Iruka leaned forward, licking a small line on the exposed part of Kakashi’s neck. “You are so good. So good. Thank you.”
Kakashi gave a shy, crooked smile. Omegas loved praise and it seemed he was no different.
“You look radiant when you’re on the edge, though,” Iruka told him. “Can I tease you a little more? Please?”
Kakashi bit his lip. “I don’t… know how long I can… hold back…”
Iruka gave him a reassuring squeeze with his supporting arm. “That’s all right. I only ask that you try. I won’t be upset if it happens before I ask for it, I promise.”
He sealed his promise with a kiss, light and sweet, cupping his cheek. When they broke apart and Iruka’s fingers drew back, they left a trail of Kakashi’s slick across the blushing surface. Iruka hummed as Kakashi’s lips parted at the realization.
“Do you mind?” Iruka asked.
Kakashi shook his head. “No.”
He smiled. “Good.”
He dipped the same two fingers back into Kakashi’s most intimate place, eliciting a moan as he easily hit his prostate again, now that he knew where it was. He coated them in his slick before pulling out again and letting the sticky liquid drip down onto Kakashi’s abdomen.
Kakashi jerked, then groaned as Iruka drew the slick across his belly and up along his ribcage.
“You look positively divine,” Iruka breathed. “I wish you could see yourself.”
Kakashi tucked himself smaller against Iruka, hiding in his shoulder. “I don’t.”
“Why?”
“Because…” he whispered, “my body has… betrayed me.”
Iruka tilted his head. “What do you mean?”
He shook his head against him. “Never mind.”
A brief burst of sadness touched Kakashi’s scent. Iruka moved his fingers through the silver hair comfortingly. Something had clearly upset him, but it was just as clear that he wasn’t going to reveal what it was.
“He suffers more than anyone knows.”
Iruka was beginning to see that the ANBU’s earlier words carried far more weight than he’d initially realized.
“Do we need to stop?”
“No,” Kakashi said, pulling back. “I’m all right.”
“Are you sure?”
Kakashi touched his chin tenderly and pressed a soft kiss against him. “I’m sure.”
Iruka smiled. “Okay.” He reached out, grasping Kakashi’s hard length in a warm palm. He could feel the blood pulsing beneath his hand as Kakashi groaned and tensed, quivering once again as Iruka had his way with him.
“You’re so beautiful like this, coming apart for me,” Iruka said softly, grazing Kakashi’s slit. The Rokudaime curled forward, grasping Iruka so hard that his arms would certainly bruise, as he fell to the edge once again. Iruka knew that Kakashi probably didn’t usually respond quite this readily… heat made everything extra sensitive.
He scooped Kakashi in his arms and twisted, moving Kakashi so that he was leaning back against the headboard. He lowered himself down, taking him in his mouth once again. He heard Kakashi throw an arm back and cry out softly.
He could feel how tense Kakashi was, how much he was fighting to keep from thrashing, to keep from orgasming. He hummed and the vibration sent Kakashi reeling. Iruka opened his eyes to see the Omega gripping his base, physically stopping his spend from coating Iruka’s throat.
He pulled off of him, a small trail of saliva running down his chin. Kakashi was practically gasping for breath. Sweat dripped along his body and it was clear that he wouldn’t be able to handle teasing much longer.
Iruka slid his hand up his leg, his waist. Kakashi twitched at the movement, his small gasps and moans rising in and out like the tide. He moved his head side to side, adrift, clearly helpless against Iruka’s touch.
And Iruka loved it.
He was jealous of every Alpha who had gotten to be with Kakashi this intimately. He wanted to show them they were no match for him. He wanted to make Kakashi forget every single one of them and think only of him.
His teeth were grazing the shining silver collar.
Good thing he’s wearing that. Shit, I usually have more control than this!
But there was something about Kakashi. Something different. Something special.
“Alpha…”
Iruka growled, pleased and proud. “Not much longer,” he promised. He nuzzled the exposed part of his neck.
Kakashi’s back arched in response and he was panting desperately. Iruka nibbled gently at the flesh, exploring and tasting.
Kakashi made a strained sound. Iruka huffed a small laugh against him as he simultaneously moved his hand along his clearly-sensitive abdomen. Kakashi shivered as if he were cold, but his skin was so, so warm.
Iruka kissed him again, feeling Kakashi’s desperation. He placed his fingers back inside his hole as Kakashi groaned into his mouth.
Iruka pulled back, staring into his eyes. Saliva trailed down Kakashi’s chin as he open-mouth panted. Iruka reached up, gently brushing sweaty locks back off the pale forehead.
“When I find your spot again, you can come,” he promised.
Kakashi nodded… words were clearly beyond him now.
Iruka smiled softly as he began to stroke Kakashi’s walls. The Omega was a shaking mess, his thighs trembling with anticipation and the stress of holding back.
“So beautiful,” he murmured. “You have no idea how beautiful you are.”
He curled his fingers just so and then…
Kakashi came with a shout, his spend shooting out with incredible force, coating Iruka’s chest. Iruka stroked him through three glorious releases before he withdrew. Kakashi sagged back, gasping for breath and utterly exhausted.
Iruka smiled. “Look at me, covered in your most intimate mark, bathed in your scent.” He leaned forward, kissing Kakashi’s neck as he trembled through the aftershock and fought to catch his breath. “You’re so good, Kakashi. So good. How do you feel?”
Kakashi closed his eyes, trying to take some deep breaths as his body continued to quiver. He licked his lips.
“G-good…” he whispered.
Iruka felt his smile broaden. “Excellent. I’m so glad.”
Kakashi huffed a small laugh. “Guess we really need to shower now, huh?”
Iruka chuckled. “I guess so. But there’s no rush,” he said as he leaned in. “I don’t mind smelling like you for a while.”
Kakashi’s breath hitched.
“Iruka?”
“Yes?”
Kakashi blushed. “I… forgot the blankets.”
He’s… such a dork!
Iruka laughed and pulled him into a kiss.

Chapter 11: The Shower

Chapter Text
Kakashi’s exhaustion was starting to show.
Iruka cupped his cheek. “Are you all right?”
Kakashi, who was still panting from his release, gave a small smile. “Yes.”
Iruka swiftly fetched him a water bottle, pressing it into his hand. “Drink. I’m going to go get everything ready… I think a nice soak in the bath will be good after our shower, what do you think?”
Kakashi smiled again. “That sounds nice.”
Iruka returned the smile. “All right. Stay here and rest. I’ll come get you when everything is ready.”
He nodded. Iruka placed a light kiss on his forehead then moved to the bathroom. He knelt at the bathtub, working the knobs till the water was at a comfortable temperature, then he activated the plug. He then located a couple fluffy towels and put them on the mat that was in front of the tub. He waited patiently for it to fill and as he did, he closed his eyes, breathing in Kakashi’s scent. His chest was still covered in the Rokudaime’s spend and the rising humidity in the bathroom was causing the scent to become stronger. He sighed, warm and content.
I never thought I would enjoy a heat share so much. The lines of professional distance always become blurred in a situation like this… I must be careful to not let anything affect our working relationship once Kakashi’s heat has passed.
Once the tub was filled, he turned off the water and pulled the cover over so it would stay warm while they showered. Iruka then walked to the shower. He had just turned on the water when he heard Kakashi say his name. He turned and gasped.
Kakashi was standing in the doorway, one hand braced against the frame. His body was trembling and he was flushed.
“Iruka,” he whimpered again. “Please… it hurts…”
Iruka ran to him, catching him before his knees buckled. He pulled him close as Kakashi gripped his back, desperately scenting him.
“Easy, easy,” Iruka soothed him, stroking him just below the collar. “I’ve got you.”
Kakashi rutted his hips against him and it was enough for Iruka’s member to start twitching anxiously. “Need you… please, Alpha…”
This one hit him hard… is his heat reaching its peak?
“Hold tight,” Iruka told him as he bent his knees and took Kakashi’s thighs in his grasp.
The Omega clearly understood as he allowed Iruka to shift his weight. He wrapped pale legs around Iruka’s bronze waist and panted against him as the Alpha carried him into the shower.
By the time he had Kakashi pressed against the wall, his own sex was bulging and demanding attention. He wasted no time as he quickly entered Kakashi’s hole and began thrusting.
Kakashi cried out in shock and relief. His legs were braced on Iruka’s thighs and his back rubbed the moist wall as he moved.
“Damn,” Iruka smirked, “after all this you’re still so wonderfully tight!”
The scent of heat radiating off Kakashi was driving Iruka’s senses wild. He was tired too and yet, somehow, he had the strength to hold Kakashi up against the wall as he pounded into him, driven solely by Kakashi’s shouts.
“More!” Kakashi panted, his arms crossed over Iruka’s back, gripping his shoulders. “More!”
He hasn’t cried out like this before…
He grimaced, feeling the scarecrow’s nails dig into his flesh. Kakashi’s mouth hung open as Iruka pounded into him, his own proud length slapping between them.
Iruka could feel the shower water running down his back as sweat poured from their bodies. The acoustics gave Kakashi’s cries and moans an airy quality, making the most delightful music Iruka had ever heard.
He groaned as he felt Kakashi’s walls clutch him with each thrust. His slick was warm and smooth and he seemed to produce more with every throb.
Kakashi moved one arm down so that he could grasp his own sex. It was dripping with precum and he jerked off on it in time with Iruka’s thrusts, his eyes open but unfocused.
“Faster…” he whimpered. “ ‘Ruka… please…”
Iruka adjusted his angle slightly, making sure he’d still have good purchase on the tile floor. He stepped a little closer, leaned in a little more. He inhaled deeply, filling his lungs with air and the scent of Kakashi’s pheromones.
And then, he moved.
Kakashi cried out, nearly sobbing in relief.
Iruka wasn’t sure if he’d ever worked inside someone at this speed. He didn’t even know where the burst of energy to comply with Kakashi’s request had come from… this particular position was quite demanding for him. His body was throbbing not only with desire but with the physical strain on his muscles.
Kakashi’s pumping increased to match the new speed. Iruka could feel his knot, hot and wanting, starting to swell. He pushed and pushed, went deeper than he ever had before and…
Damn!
His body started to burn with need.
The need to mate.
What’s happening?
The need to make Kakashi his.
I can’t… I can’t…
And his alone.
Barely aware of what he was doing, his right hand dropped Kakashi’s leg. It shot up to the rim of the collar and Iruka growled in frustration.
His spot… I need to feel it… need to!
With a burst of chakra he shoved his fingers underneath the silver collar, the metal bending against the force. As he clamped powerful fingers down he dove forward, biting Kakashi’s shoulder with a possessive grunt.
It wasn’t a mate mark but his fangs tasted blood and a euphoria surged through him like nothing he had ever known.
CRACK!
Kakashi threw his head back as his spend shot up onto their chins, the impact actually splitting the tile behind him.
His cry echoed off the walls and then he slumped forward onto Iruka’s chest, his body limp.
Iruka blinked, pulled back, saw the blood from his bite trickling down the porcelain skin.
“Holy shit! Kakashi, are you okay?!?”
It was only when Iruka tried to move back that he realized they were locked by his knot. He twisted and slid down the wall, holding Kakashi close as they sank to the floor. The Rokudaime had his mouth open against his shoulder, panting heavily.
“Kashi… hey, Kashi, are you all right?” Iruka gently moved a hand to the back of his head and, thankfully, didn’t feel any blood or immediate swelling.
“ ‘m… okay…” he wheezed, clearly reeling from his intense orgasm.
“Are you sure?” Iruka asked, blinking away sweat from entering his eyes. “That was… more intense than I thought it’d be…”
“Feel good,” Kakashi mumbled.
“You feel good? How? I bit you!”
“Don’t care,” he hummed. “So full…”
Iruka didn’t understand but that didn’t matter. As long as Kakashi was okay.
He looked up at the stream of water that his feet were under. “The water will go cold before my knot goes down. I’m sorry.”
Against him, Kakashi shook his head. “There’s an underground hot spring,” he whispered. “The water won’t cool.”
Iruka chuckled. “Good to know.”
The humidity the water was creating made the air thick but not unpleasantly so. He sat there, holding Kakashi as the Omega continued to lean drowsily against him. He moved his hand slowly up and down his back, feeling the droplets of water and sweat mixing on his skin. Kakashi stayed motionless.
“Can you sit up?” Iruka asked him. They were still locked together so they could only move so much, but Iruka was feeling a strong desire that he couldn’t explain. He only knew he needed to see the Omega’s face.
Kakashi sighed, but offered no protest as he complied. He looked tired but also relaxed. He touched his scarred cheek, admiring the contrast of their skin tones.
“You really are beautiful.”
A blush colored Kakashi’s cheeks. Iruka let his eyes take in the sight, feeling pleasantly warm inside…
… until he saw Kakashi’s collar.
“Oh shit…” he murmured, his hand drifting down to touch it.
The silver was bent from where he had forced his fingers underneath. One brilliant sapphire was loose.
But the worst part was, where he had taken him in such a cruel grip, Kakashi was already starting to bruise.
“Oh, Kakashi, I’m sorry! I didn’t realize that…”
“It’s all right. It can be repaired.”
Iruka’s gaze drifted from the bruise to the bite mark, which was also bruising, and back again.
“I… hurt you.”
“I’m all right. Believe me, Iruka, I can handle a little pain.”
From his cheeky grin he was clearly trying to lighten the mood. But Iruka couldn’t help but feel incredibly guilty.
“How can you be so casual about it? I nearly lost control!”
“And I didn’t? You know the strength of our instincts. If you really wanted to, you could rip off any collar. Any Alpha can. Bite collars are deterrents, yes, but they are not foolproof.”
“I know that,” Iruka told him quietly.
“Then you should know that if you’d really wanted to, if you had really lost control, you would have taken me. But you didn’t. That’s why I chose you. You’re safe.”
“I’ve just… never had that happen before…”
Kakashi leaned forward almost like he was going to kiss him, but stopped with a breathy moan. Iruka felt his shaft twitch.
“You can move if you want. It’s okay.”
Kakashi shook his head, dropping back down against Iruka’s chest, twitching. It was clear he was utterly exhausted.
“All right,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around him. “Not much longer now, I’m sure.”
It did, however, take longer than Iruka thought for his knot to go down. He felt Kakashi’s breath from his deep sigh tickle his skin when his knot finally slipped free from his hole.
“Can you stand?” Iruka asked gently. The Rokudaime’s body had not stopped trembling.
Kakashi pulled back, eyes hooded. His skin was flushed from the warmth of the bathroom and their activities. He moved to get his legs underneath himself. Iruka didn’t let go of him as they stood as one, keeping supporting hands on his arms.
It was clear Kakashi wouldn’t be able to stand on his own just yet.
“Lean on me,” Iruka told him, guiding him till they were both finally under the spray of the water.
Kakashi followed his lead without complaint. Iruka rubbed one hand on the Omega’s chest, rinsing away the stickiness.
I hope the water soothes his muscles. He’s got to be sore.
Iruka could feel the pain and fatigue in his own muscles. He was really looking forward to soaking in the bath.
After a few minutes, Kakashi gained his bearings and straightened, smiling shyly at Iruka through his bangs.
“Sorry…”
“Nothing to apologize for. Are you okay? Your collar isn’t getting hot, is it?”
He shook his head. “No. You don’t have to worry about that.”
“Okay, good. Then… will you let me wash your body, Kashi?”
Kakashi’s cheeks flushed beet red. “Uh… y-you don’t have to,” he stammered.
Iruka leaned in, gently brushing water droplets off his pale shoulder. “I want to.”
Kakashi shivered. “Okay…”
Iruka smiled and picked up one of the washcloths, letting it soak in the water stream before lathering it up with the unscented soap that sat on the shelf. He started with Kakashi’s back, admiring the curve of his muscles as he traced them with the cloth. The way his waist cinched in was a work of art. He drifted down his legs, kneeling as he did so, pushing his water-soaked hair back so that it didn’t block the sight before him.
How have I not noticed how beautiful his legs are?
He couldn’t help it. He leaned in and planted a gentle kiss right above the back of Kakashi’s knee.
And the Rokudaime stumbled.
Iruka chuckled. “I didn’t realize you’re so sensitive there.”
Kakashi nervously huffed a surprised and shocked laugh. “Neither did I.”
Iruka stood, slowly caressing one leg while the other wrapped around Kakashi’s waist. The washcloth hit the floor with a wet plop, completely forgotten. Kakashi brought his hands up, bracing against Iruka’s wrists.
“Iruka…”
The dolphin pulled slightly, making Kakashi lean against him. “Do you not like it?”
Kakashi swallowed. “It… isn’t that…”
Iruka nuzzled his ear. “What then?”
Kakashi looked down at the floor. “You’re just… doing a lot.”
Iruka chuckled. “What? Did you really expect me to just fuck you in your waves and that would be it?”
Kakashi’s silence spoke volumes.
“Kashi… is that what has happened… before?”
“Isn’t that the expectation of a heat share?”
“Only if that’s what you wanted,” Iruka told him gently, wrapping his arms around his waist in a hug. “Is that… what you want?”
Kakashi quivered. “I don’t…”
“No,” Iruka said, squeezing him tighter. “Keep your promise and answer me honestly. Is that what you want?”
Slowly, Kakashi shook his head.
Iruka moved his hands to lightly grasp his shoulders and guided him to turn around. He then swiftly slipped one back to his waist and pulled, making Kakashi lean back with a surprised gasp. He then grabbed his hair in a tight grip, exposing his throat before he took his mouth in a deep kiss.
Kakashi stiffened at Iruka’s sharp movements, but then relaxed quickly into his hold. Iruka tightened his grip in his hair, pulling slightly and was rewarded with a soft moan.
The spray of the water and the rising humidity was blending their scents together. It was sweet and spicy, sharp and smooth. Iruka drank it in as he released Kakashi’s mouth and traced his neck with his lips. He could feel Kakashi’s Adams apple pulsing as he panted.
“Saints, you’re gorgeous.”
Kakashi swallowed. “You say that like you mean it.”
“I never say anything I don’t mean,” he said. “Plus, it’s true. You are.”
Kakashi’s gaze drifted away. “I never understood why people thought that.”
Iruka pulled back slightly. “Surely you realize how beautiful you are?”
Kakashi looked at him. “Haven’t you ever wondered why I wear a mask?”
Iruka drew back, realization dawning. “Is… that why there’s no mirrors in the house?”
“What’s the point of having them? They just show something I don’t want to see.”
“Kashi…” he breathed, “you could bring the village to its knees with a body like this.”
Kakashi looked away again. “It’s already brought me to my knees,” he said quietly. “Several times.”
“He suffers more than anyone knows.”
“What do you mean?” Iruka asked as gently as he could.
Kakashi gave him a small, tired smile. “Nothing.”
“He’s more vulnerable than you know.”
Iruka straightened, bringing Kakashi with him. His heart grew heavy in his chest. Kakashi was the last person he would have expected to have body image issues… he was so confident and stoic that no one would have ever suspected such a thing.
And maybe that’s the point. But that still doesn’t explain what’s going on. There’s something deeper here. And, somehow, it’s connected to those cherry trees.
“Is there anything I can do to help?”
Kakashi bit his lip, his body twitching. It was as if he was torn between saying yes or saying no.
Iruka wrapped him in a hug, his hand on the back of his neck, guiding him to his shoulder. Kakashi’s arms wound around him and squeezed.
Iruka wasn’t sure if the wet warmth dripping down his shoulder was water or tears.

Chapter 12: The Bath
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Iruka sighed as he leaned back, relishing the warm water of the bath enveloping him. Kakashi laid against his chest, wrapped in his arms, and he was careful not to touch his nipples. The Rokudaime was leaning heavily against him, drowsy with fatigue.
“You can sleep if you want,” Iruka told him, bringing one hand up to caress his bare cheek.
When Kakashi failed to respond, Iruka adjusted slightly so he could see his face a bit better.
He’s already asleep.
He tightened his hold slightly, preventing any chance that the Omega could slip further into the water. Falling asleep in water was exceedingly dangerous, but Iruka would ensure his safety.
Does he truly feel that safe with me? Or is he just that tired?
Most likely, despite Kakashi’s earlier statements, it was probably exhaustion. Iruka could feel it in his own muscles, even to his bones. His entire body ached dully and he knew it would continue for a few days once the heat share was over.
Heat was truly a marathon for both Omega and Alpha.
Iruka sighed, feeling his muscles relax. The warm water was starting to work wonders on his soreness and he was sure the same thing was true for the Rokudaime.
He looked at Kakashi’s body. While he had more weight on him than he had years ago, he was still quite thin. Even though he had his entire body weight against him, he wasn’t heavy. Omegas were usually lighter than Alphas… probably evolutions way of helping cultivate the fierce protective drive that Alphas had of them.
Iruka could feel it brewing in him now. He knew he would kill anyone who dared approach right now if they were even the mildest threat to Kakashi.
Stop it and be rational. There’s no need for all that… we’re all alone here.
Kakashi shifted a little and moaned softly against him. Iruka let his pheromones rise, enveloping him in calmness. His body relaxed again with a deep sigh.
Iruka let one hand drift up towards Kakashi’s hair, but stopped when his fingers brushed up against the collar. A wave of guilt swept over him as he remembered how he had damaged it. The repair job would no doubt be expensive and Iruka knew he would insist on paying it, since it was his fault. He had never forced his hand under a bite collar before, so why had it happened?
I could understand if I was going into rut, but I won’t for another eight months at least. Could it be because I’ve been abstinent for the past couple years?
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, there was so much loss and devastation that it had been a bit hard to cope with. Konoha had seen a lot of disasters over the past few years and handling them never got easier. He and Anko had gotten together a few times to blow off steam… they had known each other for so long that it wasn’t awkward and they hadn’t needed to hold anything back. They could be rough, they could be gentle, they could laugh, they could cry… they could do anything they wanted without judgement. And, since Anko was a barren beta, there had been no fear of accidental pregnancy either.
Briefly, Iruka had considered courting Anko at one point… he eventually wanted to share his life with someone. But he knew deep in his heart that they were truly just friends and she wasn’t interested in ever settling down. Other friends had set him up on the occasional blind date and, while each potential mate/husband/wife had been very nice, he couldn’t see building a life with them.
Besides, Iruka was very dedicated to his work at the Academy. Taking a spouse was a commitment and he was seeing firsthand how Naruto and Hinata were having some difficulties in managing a marriage with missions.
They would be okay, though, of that he was sure. They weren’t struggling with anything unexpected and Naruto certainly wasn’t the type to give up.
Iruka huffed quietly with a soft smile.
I’m proud of you, Naruto. Though, despite you now enjoying the relationship you have with Hinata, I’m sure you would die if you knew what your two sensei were doing right now.
The image of Naruto’s horrified face was greatly amusing indeed.
Kakashi shifted again and Iruka stroked his arm lightly. The Rokudaime gave a soft mewl and rutted lightly against his leg.
“Shhh,” Iruka whispered. “Move how you want, it’s okay.”
Kakashi was still sleeping, so Iruka doubted he heard him. But he probably wouldn’t remain that way for long.
Sure enough, only moments later, Kakashi blinked bleary eyes open. He registered his movement against Iruka’s thigh and immediately stopped.
“I’m sorry…”
“Don’t be,” Iruka told him. “I don’t mind.”
Kakashi looked down, noticing the way Iruka’s member was bulging under the water. “I can see that.”
Iruka laughed. “That’s not what I mean.”
Kakashi smiled but then it faded as he closed his eyes and groaned, his face flushed.
“Are you too warm?” Iruka asked with concern, noticing that the Omega was starting to sweat in the water.
Kakashi shook his head. “No, I — oh!” He closed his eyes and bit his lip as he clutched Iruka desperately.
Mixed with the scent of water and their bodies, the smell of slick rose in the air.
Kakashi started panting.
“Do you want to — ugh!”
Iruka broke off with a surprised cry as, in one swift motion, Kakashi swung on top of him and sheathed Iruka’s sex fully inside himself with a grunt.
“Kakashi! Are you okay?!?”
Kakashi didn’t answer. He gripped Iruka’s shoulders as he rocked his hips without hesitation, a lewd moan on his lips.
Iruka swallowed as he placed supportive hands on his waist. “Easy, Kashi… don’t hurt yourself.”
But Kakashi either wasn’t listening or didn’t care. Iruka felt himself twitching inside him and Kakashi’s walls clutching him hungrily.
“Damn…” he gasped. “Kashi…!”
He couldn’t help thrusting upwards to meet Kakashi’s movements, his own desire hot once again.
Kakashi’s pale body dripping in water and sweat was quite the sight to behold. Iruka pulled himself into an upright position, licking the lean torso, earning him a surprised gasp.
For a moment, he thought Kakashi might push him away. But instead, his hands wound around his neck and clutched his hair, pulling him closer.
Iruka pressed a kiss into his core and Kakashi shuddered. He peppered as much of his sensitive abdomen as he could reach with licks, kisses, and affectionate nips. Kakashi’s fingers entwined in his hair, getting lost in the tangles.
He wrapped his arms around him, pressing his nose against the warm skin. “Saints, you smell so good!”
He reached out, taking Kakashi’s hard sex into his palm. Kakashi keened at the touch, shivering with sensitivity. Iruka stroked him, gently, and Kakashi’s mouth fell open with a waton moan.
“You’re hard, too,” he commented.
Kakashi rolled his hips again as he huffed.
“Need you,” he whispered. “Need more…”
“What do you want?” he asked softly as he continued his movements. “I’ll give you whatever you want. Just tell me.”
He looked up, meeting Kakashi’s haunted, hooded eyes. His lips were parted as he panted. His lips, shiny and slightly swollen, were simply begging to be kissed.
And Iruka couldn’t deny them.
He reached up, pulling Kakashi down into a fierce kiss. Kakashi responded just as hungrily, moaning into it as he shot his tongue forward, searching desperately for Iruka’s. Iruka huffed, amused, as he let Kakashi in.
Even as they kissed, Kakashi’s hips didn’t stop. Iruka loved the feeling of his wet, warm walls engulfing his proud length. The water moved around them, giving another note to the music to their lovemaking.
Kakashi pulled back, breaking the kiss to come up for air. His hair hung down, partially plastered against his forehead with sweat. He looked like an absolute mess, perfect and beautiful.
Iruka drew his legs up a bit more to help support Kakashi. As he did he kept one hand on the Omega’s erection and the other he slipped down and started rubbing Kakashi’s stretched rim.
“Hgh!”
Iruka smiled as Kakashi’s body jerked at the increased sensation. He kept moving his finger, slowly working, slowly opening until he could slide the tip in.
Kakashi gasped as he trembled. “Oh…”
“Is it okay?” Iruka asked, nuzzling underneath his chin. “If you can’t talk, hit me if you don’t like it.”
Kakashi responded by gripping him tighter.
Iruka smirked. “Well, all right, then.”
He moved his finger up higher, assisted by Kakashi’s smooth slick. While he could feel the increased sensation on his appendage, he was more interested in what Kakashi was experiencing. It was his movements and his sounds that was keeping Iruka hard.
He curled his finger a little, pushing against Kakashi’s flesh. He could see it bulging underneath his skin. He let go of Kakashi’s member and pressed against it, earning a jolt and a cry from Kakashi’s lips.
He slipped in a second finger.
“‘R… Ruka, I… I’m…”
Iruka moved his fingers in a scissoring motion, licking sinfully at Kakashi’s abs.
Kakashi came with a shout, pulling Iruka’s hair in the process. Iruka felt his chin jerk up as Kakashi’s spend shot across their chests and his neck.
“S-sorry…” Kakashi stammered, shaking.
Iruka pulled his fingers out of his hole. He looked down, surprised at what he saw.
“You just came, but you’re still hard.”
Kakashi rolled his hips, tears spilling out of his eyes. “I-I want to st… stop,” he sobbed. “But I can’t. I… can’t!”
“Shhh, shh, shh,” Iruka soothed him, taking his face in his hands. “It’s all right. This is normal. You’re okay.”
Kakashi swallowed. “I’m… so tired…” he whispered.
“I know.”
This was the time where heat got truly taxing for Omegas. Iruka had seen it before. Their bodies were exhausted and craving sleep while simultaneously being turned on and needing to be filled.
“Make it stop.” Kakashi sniffed, looking at Iruka helplessly. “Please make it stop…”
He’s completely vulnerable right now…
Iruka reached up, smoothing the sweaty silver locks back. Kakashi dropped down, pushing Iruka back to lay against the side of the bathtub again. He kissed him, soft and tender, and Iruka returned in kind.
After a few sweet seconds, Kakashi broke the kiss, but his lips still grazed his own.
“Need you…” he whispered.
“Whatever you want,” Iruka told him again, warm and sincere.
Kakashi shoved his hips, making Iruka gasp. He twitched inside him at the sheer power of Kakashi’s movements. Water sloshed up and out of the tub, soaking the floor.
He’s moving… so fast!
His breath coming in heaving gasps, Kakashi reached up to his bite collar. He fumbled for a moment with the closure then pulled it off, throwing it across the room. As it clattered across the floor he looked at Iruka, hungry and pleading.
Iruka felt his heart leap in his throat and his stomach fell.
“No, Kakashi! No! I can’t bite you!”
Kakashi grasped his hand and pulled it up, placing it on his bruised shoulder. He pressed his forehead to Iruka’s, licking his lips.
“Touch… me…”
Iruka blinked, suddenly light headed. With the collar gone, Kakashi’s scent was much, much stronger. He bit his lip, his instincts buzzing to bite Kakashi, to make him his.
Stop it!
So he gripped Kakashi’s scent gland with more bruising force, clamping down on it desperately. It was no substitute for biting, not even close. But it was the only thing he could do.
And it seemed to be what Kakashi needed.
The Rokudaime keened, his eyes rolling back in his head. He gripped the sides of the bathtub, knuckles white as he rode Iruka with even more vigor. Iruka tried to match him, but the tub was slippery and he couldn’t get good purchase in his current position. Kakashi’s voice rose louder and louder with incoherent sounds as he climbed higher and higher, taking Iruka with him.
Iruka felt his knot pop, quickly and fiercely locking him with Kakashi as his seed filled him once again. Kakashi rocked against him, his own release not coming.
“Shit!” Kakashi cursed, pounding harder as he grasped the dolphin’s shoulders. “Shit, shit!”
Iruka grasped his pulsing length and started rubbing, hard and fast. Kakashi’s nails dug into his shoulders as he finally came, the spend shooting out then falling into the water like rain.
Kakashi’s eyes fluttered and his body wilted, his strength completely gone.
Gasping, Iruka reached up, catching him before he fell.
“You’re all right,” he told him, bringing him against his chest. “You’re okay.”
Kakashi didn’t hear him… he had blacked out. Iruka knew that sometimes that could happen after an intense orgasm, but he was also concerned about the heat of his body combined with the warmth of the water. He didn’t want him to overheat, but he couldn’t move until his knot deflated.
He splashed water on them both, just enough to wash away the white stickiness that clung to their skin. Then, he held Kakashi tight as he waited for his knot to go down.
This close, with no collar, Iruka was nearly dizzy with Kakashi’s scent. With his knot still inside, his body craved to bite him and bind him to him.
But Iruka wasn’t an animal. He wouldn’t do such a thing just because his instincts weren’t rational.
Kakashi said he trusted him.
And Iruka wouldn’t do anything to break that.
Notes:
Whew… I did this chapter in one day… one day! 😱 I can hardly believe it!
Because I did it in one day, I apologize if anything sounds rushed or lacking in detail. I was determined to get this out before NaNoWriMo… for those of you reading The Omega I am devoting all of November to that story, so I wanted to get this one updated so you guys wouldn’t have a super long wait on it.
Anyways, hope you liked it! Much love to you all! ❤️
Chapter 13: A Gesture of Comfort

Chapter Text
Once his knot deflated, Iruka stood, Kakashi in his arms. He used his foot to unlatch the drain and stepped out of the tub. He quickly dried Kakashi’s body and laid him in the bed, covering him with a clean blanket. He then pulled on his discarded robe and sat beside him, waiting for him to wake up.
His eyes fell on Kakashi’s shoulder, which was already showing a dark bruise. Of course, Kakashi’s body bore several bruises as a result of their activities, but none bothered him the way that one did.
Because that one had hurt Kakashi.
It would be there for at least a week… possibly two.
Good thing he wears a mask and won’t have to explain anything.
That thought somehow did not make him feel better.
Kakashi stirred slightly, his eyes opening. Iruka leaned forward. “Kakashi?”
The Rokudaime looked at him and smiled softly. “Hey.”
“Are you all right?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
He chuckled softly. “You don’t have to worry about me, Iruka.”
Iruka pulled back, running a nervous hand through his hair. “Is it that obvious?”
“It’s nice, but it’s not necessary. I… ugh…” He broke off as he shifted to sit up, wincing.
Iruka stood, immediately supporting his shoulders as he sat up. “Are you hurt?”
Kakashi looked up at him. “It’s all right, Iruka.”
That means yes.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you, Kakashi.” He bowed his head. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” Kakashi told him. “The aches I’m feeling are very normal with a heat share. I actually don’t hurt as much as I normally do… you’re very gentle, for an Alpha.”
Iruka barked a humorless laugh. “That’s probably because I’m not in rut.”
Kakashi shook his head. “I have made it a point never to heat share with a rutting Alpha.”
Iruka nodded. “I can’t fault you for that.”
An Omega in heat with a rutting Alpha was dangerous if one did not wish a mating tie. Even the most considerate Alpha would find it nearly impossible to resist their instincts… there were a few couples in Konoha that were bonded due to unintentional mating.
And I’ve even come close to biting him… if I were in rut, there’s no way I would be able to resist…
“What’s wrong, Iruka?”
“Oh! N-nothing. Hey… why don’t we get you another collar? Then you need to eat and drink something.”
He opened the drawer to the nightstand, pulling out the box of collars.
“Iruka?”
He looked at Kakashi, noticing a light blush had stained his cheeks.
“Do you… mind if I select one?”
He’s… asking to select one himself? This is great!
“Of course!” Iruka said, perhaps a little too quickly, but he was practically vibrating with eagerness. This was what he’d been hoping for, for Kakashi to feel safe enough to ask for what he wanted. So he dumped the entire contents in Kakashi’s lap, who looked up at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Is it… really that big a deal that I… asked?”
“Yes!” Iruka could feel himself beaming. “It makes me very happy!”
“Oh…” Kakashi dropped his head. “I never thought…” He inhaled and shook his head. “Never mind.” He picked up a collar. “This one.”
Iruka took it from him. It was black leather with a long string attached to the back, showing it closed like a corset. It was smooth with no embellishment, simple and clean. “Very well.”
Kakashi scooted forward so Iruka could sit behind him. He opened the collar enough to fit over Kakashi’s head, then settled the leather into place.
“Are you comfortable with making it… tight?”
Kakashi’s question was spoken so softly that Iruka almost didn’t hear him. He paused and saw the Rokudaime’s body immediately stiffen.
“Never mind,” he said quickly, but Iruka brought a hand up his chest to the base of his neck, pulling him against him.
It made Kakashi gasp.
“Yes,” he told him, teeth brushing against his ear. “But nothing unsafe.”
Kakashi shivered and Iruka heard his blood rush anew. He placed a kiss on the pale, chiseled jawbone, Kakashi’s breath hitching.
“Are you close to another wave?” he asked, pulling back.
Kakashi shook his head. “No,” he answered breathily. “Just… sensitive.”
“How are you feeling otherwise?” Iruka pulled back, resuming the task of lacing the collar.
“I’m all right.”
“Kashi, be honest.”
“I am.”
“That’s not what I mean. And I think you know it.”
Kakashi gave a quiet chuckle. “In that case… I’m tired and my whole body aches. I’m not sure if I’m hungry or not… heat can mess with my stomach.”
Iruka felt his lips tighten as he worked. It wasn’t uncommon for Alphas to be rough during sex. He himself had been rougher than was usual for him and Kakashi’s body was irrefutable evidence of that.
Kakashi seemed to sense his unease. He turned just far enough around so that he could look at him, resting a hand on his leg.
“Iruka… I normally… hurt during heat shares. When an Omega is in heat and craving a knot, most Alphas are only too happy to provide. They get lost in their own instincts and desires. Alphas are usually very proud of their anatomy and, in the heat of the moment, don’t always care how their size feels to the Omega.”
He squeezed Iruka’s leg. “But you do. I can tell how much you are working to make sure I am enjoying this. Believe me when I say that I am.”
Iruka felt his expression soften. “Me too. Now turn around so I can finish this and then get you fed.”
“You need to eat, too,” he said as he complied.
“Don’t worry about me. Just… keep trusting me, okay?”
“I have always trusted you, Iruka,” he said, his voice going a bit husky.
Immediately, Iruka was concerned. “Have I gone too tight?”
Kakashi chuckled. “No. It’s perfect.”
“Oh good. It’s been a long time since I’ve used one of these and I got concerned.”
“I wasn’t worried. I know you would never hurt me.”
Iruka swallowed. “But… I did. Your shoulder…”
Collar securely fastened, Kakashi turned to face him. “That wasn’t your fault.”
“I’ve never done anything like that before.”
“And that bothers you.”
“Yes. That and the fact that you don’t seem concerned by it.”
“I asked for it.”
“Not the first time!”
Iruka could feel himself shaking. He looked down, a pitiful attempt to hide the tears that were forming.
“Iruka…?”
“I never want to hurt you,” he sniffed. “Never.”
I never want to betray your trust.
Pale hands encircled his trembling ones.
“How can I help?”
The question was so soft and genuine. Iruka had never heard Kakashi’s voice take that tone. It made him feel like he was the only person in Kakashi’s world, the only thing that mattered.
It touched something deep inside him.
He blinked, but it didn’t stop the tears from falling.
“I…”
“Oh, Iruka, don’t cry. Please don’t cry.”
He swallowed. “S-sorry.”
There I go, apologizing again…
Kakashi released one hand, using it to push a lock of hair back behind Iruka’s ear. “You’re upset. I don’t like it.”
Iruka sniffed. “I’m fine, Kakashi. Really. You…” He smiled, remembering the words the Omega had said to him only moments before. “You don’t have to worry about me.”
But Kakashi was clearly unnerved as he looked away. He opened his mouth as if to say something, then shut it again with a soft grunt, his body tight with uncertainty.
“Kashi…”
“Wait here,” the Rokudaime said, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
Iruka watched as Kakashi walked on slightly shaky legs to a large dresser. He opened one of the drawers and pulled out a blanket. He threw it over his arm, then took out another one. He looked at it, then tossed it on the floor. He repeated this process, muttering to himself, till the drawer was empty and then did the same with a second drawer. Finally, when he was ladened down with what appeared to be the softest ones, he brought them to the bed and dumped them unceremoniously at the end. He picked one up, spreading it out. He then climbed up onto his knees, fluffing the pillows.
“Sit here,” he instructed, moving back.
“Okay,” Iruka responded, curious as to what Kakashi was doing. As he sat, Kakashi took his shoulders, making sure he leaned back against the fluffy pillow.
Kakashi started inspecting the blankets again, leaning down to sniff them. He picked one up and brought it around Iruka’s shoulders.
Once that was done, he went back to the blanket pile, humming thoughtfully to himself. He selected another blanket and began tucking it along Iruka’s side.
Is he…?
Iruka looked up at him. “Umm… Kakashi?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you…” He stopped, clearing his throat. “Are you… trying to build me a nest?”
Kakashi froze then put his hand on his protected neck, huffing a laugh of amusement. “I… guess I am. Sorry, is it awkward? Am I doing it wrong?”
“I’ve… never had a nest built for me.”
Kakashi straightened. “Never?”
“No. Why do you sound surprised?”
“Because you are so…” He gestured, unable to find words. “I mean… I would have thought several Omegas would have done this for you.”
An Omega building a nest for someone was a high honor, especially if it was to an Alpha. It could mean something as intimate as a desire to mate, but a nest could also be built for appreciation or comfort.
Iruka shook his head. “Nope. No one ever has.”
“Well, then this is doubly awkward,” Kakashi said, looking at the corner of blanket he held in his hand.
He cocked his head. “Why?”
Hooded eyes looked at him sheepishly. “Because I’ve never built a nest for an Alpha.”
Iruka gasped. “That’s…”
Kakashi nodded. “Yeah.”
Iruka felt his entire soul warm in a way it never had before. He stretched out his arms. “Come here.”
Kakashi immediately laid down and stretched out, a slight whine in his throat as Iruka encircled him.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, nuzzling his hairline.
“I wanted to… comfort you, but I’ve only built nests for myself and I don’t think I’m doing it right…”
“Is there even a right way to build a nest?”
“Technically? No, I don’t think so…”
“Then how could you be doing it wrong? And I do feel better.”
Kakashi looked up at him. “Really?”
I still feel guilty that I hurt you. But somehow, this gesture…
“Really.” He moved his hand in a soothing motion over Kakashi’s arm. “I promise.”
“Good. I don’t like seeing you cry.”
Iruka pulled back mischievously. “Never? But what if the orgasm is that good?”
Kakashi laughed and playfully smacked his chest.
Notes:
The boys took this chapter away from me… nothing I had planned happened. I might be the author, but they are the ones who are really in charge 😂
I do love seeing them open up more to each other. I hope you also enjoyed this chapter and I’ll see you in the next one! 🩷
Chapter 14: Preparing

Chapter Text
Iruka held the half open protein bar in front of Kakashi’s mouth. “Eat.”
Kakashi groaned. “Too tired…”
“You were the one who promised you’d eat after your next wave,” Iruka pointed out.
Shortly after Kakashi had started building the nest, he had begun feeling the need to be knotted again. Iruka had tried to get him to eat something before it got bad, but Kakashi could, apparently, be wildly stubborn.
So that was how they had come to this arrangement… with Iruka knot-deep inside him, chest to Kakashi’s back, holding him with one hand while he coaxed him to eat with the other.
“Come on, Kashi. You’ve hardly eaten during this whole thing. You need to keep up your strength.”
Kakashi leaned back a bit, tilting his head so he could look at him. “You haven’t eaten a lot either, you know.”
“I’m not worried about me.” Iruka moved the bar closer. “Please, Kashi.”
Kakashi opened his mouth and took a bite. He continued till he was about halfway done then looked at Iruka again.
“You eat the rest.”
“Kakashi —”
“You might not be worried about you,” he said quietly, “but I am.”
Iruka huffed quietly, touched and amused. He took a bite of the protein bar, finding it bland but palatable. He shifted his weight a little, which caused Kakashi to gasp and bite his lower lip.
“Sorry,” he whispered.
The Omega shook his head as a quick shiver rushed over his frame. “Feels good,” he murmured.
Protein bar forgotten, Iruka dropped it and moved his hand to stroke Kakashi’s long, pale neck. The Rokudaime trembled with a moan, sagging back against him.
“Kakashi?” he whispered, breath hot against warm skin.
“Nugh…”
Iruka let his fingers drift down the now-panting chest and up again. He sighed, basking in Kakashi’s scent, marveling at the smoothness of his skin.
“You would be so beautiful tied up.”
Kakashi choked on his breath, his eyes wide.
He placed a soft kiss on his temple. “Can I do that, Kashi? Do you trust me to do that?”
I won’t be surprised if he says no. Even though he likes being restrained, that doesn’t mean he’d enjoy being tied up.
But Kakashi’s entire face melted as he nodded quickly, his body trembling with anticipation and need.
“Please,” he whispered, his fingers curling.
Iruka caressed his cheek and pulled him in for a slightly awkward kiss, given the angle. But Kakashi drank it like a man dying of thirst, desperate for one sip of cool water. Iruka felt his knot twitch and Kakashi groaned into his mouth. He broke the kiss, leaning forward and panting for breath. Iruka kept an arm firmly around him for support.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his concern overriding any sensation he himself was feeling.
Oh, that’s why. My knot’s gone… I’ve slipped out.
Kakashi scooted forward, his body so full of Iruka’s seed that it left a trail on the bed as he moved. Iruka felt a pang of guilt, he should have a towel or something to keep Kakashi somewhat clean.
Kakashi seemed to sense what he was feeling. Still panting and trembling, he reached out and patted the bronze knee with a smile.
“I think we need a break,” Iruka told him, “if your body isn’t going into another wave right away.”
Kakashi’s expression switched to concern. “Are you feeling all right?”
“I’m fine.” Iruka leaned forward, touching his arm. “But you’re so exhausted that you’re shaking. I know I wanted to tie you up, but it might not be safe.”
“I’m okay, Iruka.”
“Your blood sugar is probably low. You need to drink something… do you have any juice?”
“I think there’s some apple juice in the refrigerator.”
As Kakashi leaned forward to stand, Iruka shot to his feet. Normally his speed would have never been a match for the powerful ninja, but he was in a weakened condition, which was the only reason why Iruka was faster in this moment.
“Please stay here and rest,” he told him. “I’ll get the juice.”
Kakashi gave a weak smile and nodded.
It didn’t take Iruka long to locate the juice. When he got back upstairs he found Kakashi curled up on the bed, clutching the pillow he’d been lying against and breathing deeply, but quickly.
That’s no surprise. Omegas crave Alpha pheromones when in heat so it’s no wonder he wants my scent.
“Kakashi,” he greeted softly.
The Omega turned, stress lines lining his features. “Alpha…”
“I’m here,” he crooned, walking over and reaching out to cup his cheek. Kakashi nuzzled into it with a contented sigh, visibly relaxing.
Has he reached the point where he’s uncomfortable if he’s separated from an Alpha?
“Here,” he said softly. “Sit up and drink this.”
Kakashi obeyed. Iruka sat by his side as he drank, running a comforting hand along his thigh.
“Well done,” he crooned once the juice was finished.
Kakashi smiled shyly, a light pink blush staining his cheeks. Iruka chuckled softly as he placed the empty bottle on the nightstand.
The Omega turned his body to face him. “Can you… I mean… are you ready for…?”
Iruka sighed, taking his hands into his own, running his thumb over knuckles. “I know I asked if I could tie you up, but I’m still not sure it’s safe.”
He tilted his head. “I told you I’m all right.”
“Kakashi, you’re exhausted. I don’t want to wear you out.”
“That’s going to happen no matter what. Heat does that.”
“I know, but —”
“Besides,” he said, a mischievous twinkle in his eye, “I’ve been tied up before. Both in and out of the bedroom. Most times I was in worse condition than I’m in now, and I was fine.”
Iruka jerked, horrified. “Kakashi!”
“Iruka.”
There was something firm in Kakashi’s voice, a determination that had not been present through the entire heat. But there was still a softness, a gentleness, a… meekness. Kakashi took his hands and licked his lip.
“Please.”
Iruka felt his expression soften. “Kakashi…”
“You said you wanted me to voice what I want,” he whispered. “I… want to be tied up. By you. I want that experience. Please.”
Iruka knew he should say no. He knew that being tied up put stress on the body. He knew how quickly it could go wrong.
But he was helpless. He wanted to give Kakashi everything.
He sighed, relenting.
“All right.”
Kakashi dropped his head in… relief?
“Thank you.”
“But we do it my way. If I see in any way you can’t handle it anymore, I’m ending it. No matter what you say. I will not risk hurting you.”
The Omega leaned in, nuzzling just under his neck.
“You could never hurt me,” he whispered, then raised his lips to capture Iruka’s in a soft kiss.
Iruka let go of Kakashi’s hands to hold his face so, so gently. He pulled back so he could look at him, taking in the beauty and the trust.
“You’re amazing.”
Kakashi sighed, his gaze shifting. “Not really.”
I wonder why he has such a hard time accepting any type of compliment.
Iruka lowered his hands. “Before we get started, I need to know something. Do you want to be partially or fully immobilized?”
“I don’t care.”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “Well, then do you want to be tied up to anything?”
“I don’t care.”
“Kakashi…”
“Iruka, I am being honest. Whatever you’re comfortable with is what I want.”
Iruka sighed. “I just don’t want to accidentally… you know…”
“Trigger anything?”
“Well, yeah.”
Kakashi took his hands again. “I’m… safe with you.” He gazed up at him through long lashes. “If anything happens, remind me of that.”
Iruka nodded. “I will.”
Though I hope I won’t have to.
Iruka gave his hands a gentle squeeze. “Can you wait for me?”
Kakashi tensed. “Don’t leave.”
As I thought… he can’t tolerate being separated from me now.
“I won’t leave the room,” he told him gently. “I just need to go to the closet. Is that okay?”
Kakashi’s eyes widened slightly and he quickly released Iruka’s hands, scooting back a bit. “Of course. I’m sorry.”
“Kakashi… do you require touch right now?”
The Rokudaime held up his hands with the smile Iruka was learning he used to hide his emotions. “Oh no, it’s okay. I’m okay. You do what you need to.”
Reading between the lines, Iruka placed his fingers in the appropriate sign.
“Kage bunshin no jutsu.”
In an instant, his clone appeared. He was just as naked as he was, as he didn’t possess the talent to make a clone that wasn’t an exact copy.
“Will this suffice?”
Kakashi nodded. Iruka motioned to the clone, who immediately sat behind Kakashi, wrapping him in an embrace.
Letting his clone take over as he moved to the closet was more difficult for Iruka than he originally thought it would be. He fingers twitched with jealousy, wanting to be the only one who touched the Omega.
Stop it. You’ll get the memories.
That thought didn’t make him feel better.
He opened the closet door, turning on the light. He remembered where he had seen the ropes hanging and he went to them. He picked up two of them, knowing they were both plenty long for his intentions. The hemp was stiff without being rough… these ropes were extremely high quality.
But Iruka hadn’t expected anything less.
He left the closet and looked at the bed. Kakashi was wilting in the clone’s hands as the clone licked the outline of his ear. Iruka strode over, his jealousy rising even more.
“That’s enough,” he said firmly.
The clone drew back, but not before giving Kakashi a reassuring squeeze, letting him know he had done nothing wrong. Kakashi braced himself so that when the clone disappeared, he didn’t fall back on the bed.
Iruka knelt before him as the memories processed, letting one hand run down a pale calf. Kakashi shivered at the sensation.
“You are so incredibly beautiful,” he said softly. “I hate that others have seen you like this.”
“They haven’t.”
Iruka tilted his head slightly. “What do you mean? You’ve obviously had sex before and —”
“Yes,” Kakashi whispered, leaning forward. “But no one else… cared for me the way you do. No one else touched me the way you do. No one else has made me feel the way you do.” He reached out to take Iruka’s face tenderly in his warm palms. “So you are the only one who has seen me… like this.”
A low growl rumbled in Iruka’s throat. Alphas didn’t purr, but that was the closest sound they made to it. He drew back slightly, noticing the way Kakashi kept his wrists in front of him, like he’d read his mind. Slowly, he began winding red rope around them, a basic yet decorative knot between them, effectively cuffing them. The tie was advanced… impossible to break if one wasn’t a shinobi of Kakashi’s caliber. He paid attention to the tightness, not wanting to negatively affect circulation. He also noted how still Kakashi remained, could hear his blood surging though his breathing remained calm.
He’s… excited.
Iruka felt his insides throb. He couldn’t deny it, he was excited too.
“Allowing someone to tie you takes a huge amount of trust,” he said as he completed his work. “You can end this at any time. For any reason. But I also reserve the same right. Do you agree?”
Kakashi nodded. “Yes.”
“If you are uncomfortable, you will tell me. If something hurts beyond pleasure, you will tell me. If you’re feeling hesitant or unsure, you will tell me. Do you agree?”
Kakashi nodded again, tension leaving his shoulders as Iruka adjusted the pressure against his wrists to slightly increase. “Yes.”
“I said earlier we are doing this my way. But that does not mean I am in charge of the scene. You are. So if there is anything you don’t like, tell me and I will stop. I will guide you, I will lead you, I will protect you. I am in charge of keeping you safe. Do you trust me for this?”
Kakashi trembled, his body slumping slightly in surrender. “Yes.”
Iruka took a deep breath. “Very well.”
He stood, giving a slight pull on the cuffs.
“Rise.”
