Chapter Text
Scott was, to say the least, depressed. He had been crying over Ramona every afternoon for the last month after the breakup, and although they didn't end on bad terms, they didn't end on good terms either.
Sighing, Scott went to get a glass of water to clear his mind, he didn't want to feel bad all the time either, plus he was being an extra burden on Wallace, since he had clothes thrown around the room many times, and he didn't clean like before because he slept or watched TV most of the day, that was his daily routine, wake up early because of wallace's alarm, go back to sleep when wallace leaves, then wake up again and eat whatever there is or else don't eat anything, because he didn't have the willpower to cook, so Wallace realized this and left him food prepared for the day, Scott was grateful for that, but at the same time he hated having to be a problem for Wallace.
Oh, and there was one part he forgot to mention, Wallace now kissed him every morning, not on the mouth, but still It was new to him. Wallace had always been flirtatious, but never as intimate as he was now, and Scott didn't know if it was because of the pity he felt for him or because something else, but Scott did know one thing, he definitely loved Wallace's kisses.
It wasn't the first time that he questioned things about Wallace, there was this time when Wallace arrived drunk and Scott had to help him get to the bed, and while he did Wallace told him that he was cute and brought his face dangerously close, but fell asleep right there, super close to Scott.
That was the first time he had feelings for Wallace, but that was two years ago, and although he still sometimes felt under the spell of Wallace, Scott thought he was over it, until now.
Damn, the glass of water didn't help much, on the contrary he started to overthink more. Then he remembered there was beer in the fridge, so he didn't think much about it and drank about 3 cans. Well, he was feeling better mentally (not really, he was just so drunk now he couldn't think clearly). Scott, not drinking frequently, had little resistance to alcohol, which is why those 3 beer cans affected him so much.
The door rang, and shit, Scott had completely forgotten that it was already time for Wallace to get off work. He was going to clean the cans but Wallace had already come in and was looking at him.
"... Scott? Are you drunk?"
"No..." As soon as he said that, he tried to walk and stumbled, so he just admitted it.
"ok maybe I'm a little drunk"
Wallace frowned but immediately went to help Scott up, and this made Scott nervous, the contact with Wallace sparked something in Scott.
"Come, here, let's sit down to avoid more accidents." Wallace smiled warmly at him.
That was it, Scott needed to kiss those lips that were smiling at him.
"Hey Wallace"
"Yeah?"
"Have I ever told you that your lips are very pretty?"
Wallace didn't have time to respond as Scott had kissed him, it was a soft and slow kiss but it felt like an explosion of emotions for Scott.
Finally they separated, and Scott realized what he had just done (surprisingly he still had some reasoning left when he was drunk) so he turned red as a tomato, and looking anywhere but Wallace, Scott began to apologize.
"Shit, I'm sorry, I don't know why I did that- please don't be angry at-"
He couldn't finish his sentence because he felt something warm on his mouth, it was Wallace kissing him, was this real?
The kiss gradually intensified, Wallace bit Scott's lower lip a little, and Scott opened his mouth to let Wallace's tongue in, while the two clung to each other by the hair. This went on for a while until they were out of air, so they separated with heavy breaths.
"Scott"
Wallace looked hesitant, worried about something.
"We should stop, now."
"Wait, why?"
"You're drunk, I don't even know if you know what's happening and if you'll remember tomorrow."
"but-"
"Look, let's talk about this tomorrow, when you're sober okay?"
Wallace moved closer to Scott's face again, but this time he lifted the hair from his forehead to give him a small kiss there.
It was already late, because Wallace had to work a late shift that day, so they went to sleep, without mentioning a single word at that time.
~
Later, Scott woke up with a horrible hangover, now he remembered why he didn't drink as much. That day was Saturday, so Wallace wasn't working, but he wasn't in bed, so he looked at the kitchen and there he was, making bacon and eggs for breakfast.
"Wallace?"
"Oh, you woke up scotty"
Scott blushed at the nickname but ignored it, getting up to go to the bathroom to wash his face while breakfast was ready. Once he finished, he left the bathroom and the dishes were already served, so he sat down to eat at the counter next to Wallace.
They started eating, but Wallace didn't say a word, so Scott figured he'd have to get the convention started.
"so-..." Scott began to speak, no matter how drunk he was yesterday, he remembered everything, and there was no way he could lie and pretend that nothing happened.
"Do you want to talk about last night? You remember what happened right?"
Scott nodded, waiting for Wallace to start the conversation.
"Umm, if you remember everything, this is easier.. So, Scott, you kissed me, and I kissed you back"
Wallace took a second before continuing, as if he were still processing everything.
"Did you just do it because you haven't kissed anyone in a month, or is it because of something else?"
"I-"
Scott was afraid to confess his feelings, but he had to do it, it was now or never.
"I like you, just like, a lot, for a while now.."
"how much is for a while?"
"I don't know, I think it all started when you came home that night drunk and called me cute and almost kissed me, the feeling was always there even when I liked Envy or Ramona."
He paused to catch his breath and continue.
"then the little flirtations you do, even if you were joking, they made me feel nervous, And then I broke up with Ramona and you started kissing me on the forehead and cheeks, I think that's what finally made me realize that I like you."
Wallace looked at him, and then started laughing.
"wha-what It's so funny..?"
"nothing- nothing, it's just that I never thought there would come a time when you would finally like me in a romantic way."
Huh? Wallace was waiting for him to say all this?
"Wait wait wait, are you saying you wanted this?"
"Wasn't it like, obvious? I always do things for you, Scott, sometimes when you were playing I purposely sat very close to you, and the flirting should have made you suspect something, right?"
"no... I thought you liked your boyfriends or the people you slept with"
"Well, I do like them, but they're not you, Scott, you're special."
This made Scott's stomach feel a thousand butterflies, God, he couldn't take it anymore, he grabbed Wallace's face and kissed him, this time, sober. Wallace didn't take long to receive the kiss and wrapped his hands around Scott's waist, it was a gentle and cute kiss, then they separated and smiled.
"Wallace... thank you, I mean, I've just been a problem and you keep treating me well, I don't deserve it."
"That? No- you're not a problem for me Scott, really."
"But, I've been depressed in bed for like, the whole month, and it's not the first time, the same thing happened with envy and I don't do anything productive... I don't even work"
"Scott, believe me, I don't care that you don't work, and the only bad thing about you being depressed is that I don't like seeing you sad, so don't think that you're a burden to me, okay?"
Scott hadn't realized when he started crying, but he tried to wipe the tears with his sleeve, although failing in the attempt.
Wallace pulled him close, and hugged him, Scott buried his face in Wallace's chest. They stayed like that for a while until Scott calmed down and slowly separated from the hug.
"sorry"
"don't apologize sweetheart, it's okay"
"Sweetheart-!? Don't calle me like that, it's embarassing"
Scott, although he had already been called that way by his exes, felt different with Wallace, more intimate and cute.
"but you like it don't you~"
"Oh shut up"
"So now that officially makes you my only bitch."
"There's the mocking wallace, you'll never change that will you" Scott laughed, but then his stomach growled, they had completely forgotten about the food.
"Um I think we should eat this before it gets cold"
And then they finished eating, and headed for the couches (yes, the ones, because wallace had recently bought another one due to scott's complaints about sitting on the floor).
"So...are we, like, dating?" scott asked, because even though they had clarified their feelings they hadn't established anything yet.
"well, I'd say yes, but we haven't even been on a date yet, so no-"
"But wallaceeee!"
"let me finish talking, well as I was saying, we're still not dating, but after today's date, we will officially be a couple."
