Chapter 1: Chapter One

So Mun is laying on his bed on his brown pajamas, unable to rest his eyes. He is staring at the ceiling. Only the sound of Jeok Bong's snore accompany him tonight.

 

He turns to his side, looking at the window on his left. Watching the moon shines so bright. It's so pretty.

 

He gets up and reaches out for his old CD player on the shelf next to the bed. Listening a good song might be a good idea for him.

 

He puts on the headsets and play his favorite song. He close his eyes while the song is playing. The melody is accompanying him while he slowly drifting to the dream land.

"Good morning, sleepy head! Rise and shine! Mrs. Chu is making breakfast!" Someone is barging into his room, startling him and making him jolted awake. So Mun is still so sleepy. It feels like only 5 minutes ago he closes his eyes.

 

With a big yawn while rubbing his eyes, he answers whoever wakes him up. "Just five more minutes please!" Then he throws his body back to his previous position. Laying on his left cheek on the pillow ang hugging his beloved bolster.

 

"No..no..come on. You don't want to miss breakfast!" Someone hand is shaking his when he refuses to open his eyes.

 

"What time is it anyway? Still too early to wake up!" So Mun is whining to his hyung. He just wants to sleep little bit more.

 

"So Mun-na, it's already 10 am in the morning. Mo Tak Sunbae asks me to wake you up. Don't waste the day sleeping like a log! Everyone is waiting for you at the dining table."

 

So Mun is groaning. And finally standing up with the help of Jeok Bong hyung.
He is still refusing to open his eyes. He also is sticking his head on Hyung's shoulder. Depending entirely on him to guide him out from his room into the dining table.

 

Then he is placed on the chair.

 

He stretches his arms above his head while letting out a huge yawn. Then fold his arms on the table and put his head on it.

 

"Aigo, So Mun-na is still sleepy?" Mrs. Choi's voice is heard next to him. He is dragging a chair to sit beside him. Then he feels the older man ruffles his hair and hears him chuckling at him.

 

So Mun nods his head and finally manages to open his eyes and lift his head to see his teammates. Everyone is seated around him. Hana noona is sitting in front of him, Mo Tak ajushi is beside her and Jeok Bong hyung is seating on her right. All the food is prepared on the table. Mrs. Chu is walking towards the table while holding a tray full of kimchi on her hands.

 

"Yah, kiddo. Even though it's been quiet lately, does not mean you can slacking off." Mo Tak ajushi is starting to lecture him about responsibility, but Mrs. Chu is stopping him.
"Let's the boy rest, Mo Tak! Don't bother him with nonsense so early in the morning. Let's him sleep while he can!"

 

"Mrs. Chu. I am just saying that we need on the alert all the time. We don't know when the evil spirits is going to appear!" Ajushi is still talking as if Mrs. Chu is personally offended him.

 

"I know ajushi, I just had trouble sleeping last night. I just don't feel awake yet." So Mun is calming him down. He doesn't want anyone fighting so early in the morning.

 

"Let eat So Mun-na." Jeok Bong hyung is giving him a spoon and asking him to start eating. Everyone is picking their own utensils to eat. So, So Mun is starting to dig his bowl.

 

"Are you planning to stick on the pyjamas today?" Hana noona who is sitting in front of him, asks him a question.

 

He is looking her who is slurping her soup nonchalantly.

 

"What?" He looks at her with surprised face.

 

"You look exhausted. Are you planning to sleep all day?" Hana noona then looks back at him after putting down the bowl.

 

"I don't know. Maybe!" He answers her with uncertainty.

 

"Suit yourself then." Then she is back finishing her plate.

 

"It's okay to take a rest for a day, So Mun-na!" Mr. Choi says to him. He looks at the older man and smiles at him. "If you tired, I recommend you, and all of you, to take a break. Forcing yourself to work while tired is bad take, understand?" He is looking at the team who is busy eating their food. Mr. Choi might look scary but he is the one who pay attention to the team well-being. Several yeses are heard through the table making Mr. Choi smiles satisfiedly.

 

After finishing their breakfast, one by one they begin leaving the dining table. Mo Tak ajushi is going to work. Hana noona says she wants to come to the park, So Mun suspects she wants to meet Dohwi hyung. Chairman Choi says he wants to go to his office, there's something he needs to take care of. Jeok Bong hyung says something about meeting a blind date, but So Mun is not paying attention. He is busy helping Mrs. Chu taking the dirty plates and bowls to the kitchen sink. He wants to help her washing the dishes. She always cooks for them anyway, so, a little hand might be a good for her.

 

"Thank you So Mun-na. You don't have to help me. I can wash them all." Mrs. Chu starts taking the gloves he is about to put on his hand. But, So Mun swats her hand and say, "it's really okay. You already cooked, I can help with the washing. It's not like I have something to do anyway." He says while shrugging his shoulders. Mrs. Chu caresses his cheek and smiles at him while saying her thanks. So Mun is grinning back at her. Then he puts on the gloves, rolls up his pyjamas's sleeves un to his elbows, faces the sink and starts to wash them.

 

He starts soaping the dishes one by one. That's a lot of dirty plates and bowls for five people. But So Mun is fine with it. He is whistling while doing his chores.

 

He is rinsing the last plate and put it on the small shelf next to the sink. The water on the sink is getting dark and dirty now. Thinking that there is no more dirty utensils, he is taking off his gloves and is about to reach the draining hole in the middle of the sink. He puts his hand down on the water and in the split second feel a sharp sting on his palm. He is wince and pulling his hand back up. Then he sees a red liquid coming down from his palm, streaming down to his arm and falling into the floor.

 

So Mun is standing there dumbfounded. Watching the floor becomes a huge mess of red. The blood even gets on his white slippers.

 

The blood keeps coming out from his hand, and then the pain is coming with the full force. His hand feels a little numb too, well, apparently losing a lot of blood can do that to your arms.

 

"So Mun-na, are you done with the dishes?" Mrs. Chu suddenly appears behind him. Making him jumps a little and then turns his body to face her.

 

"Mrs. Chu. I think I have a little accident." He smiles sheepishly at her. She is watching him in horror. She is taking his injures hand and covering it up with her appron; hoping to stop the bleeding. Then she guides him to sit down on one of the chair near the kitchen table.

 

"Oh, my God. What happened? There's a lot of blood. Do you have a fight with the kitchen sink or something?" Hana noona, who he thought already left the building suddenly approaching them. So Mun is pouting at her. Finding her joke not funny at all. His hand hurts a lot and she has the audacity to mock him.

 

"Hana-yah, don't tease him!" Come Mrs. Chu warning. She then uncovers his hand, and touches the injured part. After that she starts healing him.

 

So Mun hates the part when she heals him. If it up to him, he will let the wound closes by itself. He wouldn't mind to have it for a few days. It's not a big deal. He doesn't want her to waste her power for something so small like this. But he knows if he says anything about it, Mrs. Chu will nag at him non-stop until tomorrow. Saying he is not about to belittle his injury, small or big doesn't matter, she will cure whoever gets hurt. Don't ever tell her otherwise.

 

Mrs. Chu opens her eyes when she finishes healing him. So Mun moves the arms and finds it completely healed. He sees Mrs. Chu lets out a small breath. He knows she must be tired after this. Small wound or nor, healing is still taking a lot of her energy.

 

"Thank you Mrs. Chu." So Mun is very grateful for her. She is always putting the other counters first before her self. "And I am sorry. I didn't know there was a knife under the water. I was careless. I promise that won't happen again." He says to her. Hana noona is snorted beside him, and then offers him a napkin to clean his hand. He takes it and begins to wipe the remaining blood there. But, maybe a shower would be a good idea. Almost his entire arm is covered by red spot.

 

"Don't worry about it So Mun-na. I am just glad it is not deep. Just scratch on your skin." She says while patting his non-injury arm.

 

"I am going then if the problem is solved. Bye! Don't wait for me! Tell Mr. Choi I'll take the car Mrs. Chu!" Hana noona says while walking towards the back door and heading to the basement where they keep their cars.

 

"I think I am going to have a shower Mrs. Chu. My arm is so sticky."

 

"Sure. Just clean yourself. I will take care of the kitchen."

 

"Ah, I am sorry again for the mess." So Mun is feeling guilty. He was offering his help so that she could take a break. But now, he is adding more problem to her instead.

 

"Don't worry. Take your shower. I will be here if you need me." Mrs. Chu is forcing him out from the kitchen and with a huge sigh he is heading to his room to clean himself.

 

The rest of the day is surprisingly so peaceful. So Mun spends his day locking at his room. Drawing his webtoon or just doodling something on his sketch book.

 

Until the night comes, when every one is gathering on more for dinner. By the time the food is served, Hana noona is already telling everyone about his little accident in the morning. Mo Tak ajushi is laughing his ass off. He almost falls down from his chair while he is laughing uncontrollably. He finds it so hilarious that So Mun manages to hurt himself with a kitchen knife. Jeok Bong hyung is concerned about him. He is taking his hand to inspect the wound. Which is not there anymore because Mrs. Chu is taking care of that. So, So Mun is pulling his hand back. He is fine now, thank you.

 

Mr. Choi is just staring at him with disapproval look but says nothing. Making him feels small under his stare. He doesn't like it when he disappoints his teammates. He starts to think maybe a lecture is better than silent treatment he receives right now.

 

Hana noona also stay silent. Maybe she thought he already had enough teasing from Ajushi and feeling embarrassed enough right now.

 

Well, she is not wrong. He is feeling a little bit embarrassed. Thinking about it now, getting hurt because his own silly mistake is very embarrassing.

 

So Mun is sulking for the rest of the dinner time. Mo Tak ajushi keeps teasing him. Hana noona is so not helping by smirking to Ajushi's joke that being thrown at him. In the end it Mrs. Chu who put on stop of ajushi's silly joke and teasing. "Stop it Mo Tak-ah. Everyone is making mistakes. Don't hold on So Mun-na like that!"

 

Ajushi's smile is staying on his face, but he does stop his teasing and continue to finish his food.

 

So Mun is looking at her with his famous puppy dog eyes. She is looking at him back and pat his arm. Telling him to finish his food and stop listening to Ajushi's words. He is nodding his head at her and says thanks. He is forever grateful for her kindness.

 

Then he is sending dirty look at Mo Tak ajushi, he is so getting back at him at the training session.

Chapter 2: Chapter Two

Summary:

When So Mun is having the best of his life at the music show. An unexpected accident happened, but thankfully he has his Jeok Bong hyung to save they day.

Jeok Bong is training on the boxing ring with Hana-shi today. He knows he is still lacking power in order to be good counter. The first time he and Hana-shi trained together ended up with him being beaten and bruised. Not the experience he wants to repeat again.

 

Jeok Bong is determined to be better than he was. Though he is still lack stamina when fighting but he is good at what he does, which is smelling the evil spirits. That's enough for his self-esteem. He wishes he can help his teammates more but Mrs. Chu convinces him that what he has is enough for the team.

 

He docks Hana-shi's direct punch to his face. At least now he has learned how to protect his face better. And then he throw one back at her. She is moving fast to her left to avoid his punch, and continues to kick him on his right knee. It does hurt. Jeok Bong is down and then she finishes it by throw a jab to his cheeks. He is down on the floor, breathing hard because of the practice they did.

 

"Can I take a break for a minute, Hana -shi?" He looks up to her on his position on the floor. Hana is not even tired yet, so unfair. But she stares at him and takes a deep breath.

 

"Sure!" She then walks over to the corner of the boxing ring and lean her body there.

 

Jeok Bong is laying still on the floor while controlling his breathing.

 

"Wow! Getting knock down again Hyung?" Suddenly So Mun is there with his huge grin on his face, practically mocking him.

 

"Where are you going? It's time for you to get on the ring with me." Hana-shi is asking the younger one. So Mun is wearing his favorite baseball jacket and jeans, clearly planning to be somewhere fun instead of training here with them.

 

"Ju Yeon and Ung Min ask me to go with them. They have extra ticket for music show." So Mun is leaning on the edges of the the boxing ring while talking to Hana-shi. "Do you want to go with me noona? Hyung?"

 

Jeok Bong immediately stands up and walks towards him, while shouting. "Of course I wanna go. Wait for me okay. I'll change my clothes!" Jeok Bong is practically running to their share bedroom.

 

Hana is rejecting So Mun's offer. Saying she is to busy for a concert. So Mun snorts at her, while murmuring to himself, "just say you don't want to be in crowded place."

 

"What did you just say?" She side-eyed him with murdering look on her eyes.

 

"Nothing!"

 

"The only reason you tell us is because you want us to drive you, right?"

 

"What?!? I would never!" So Mun is offended. How can she accuses him like that. He even dramatically widen his eyes and put his hand on his chest.

 

"Save the pretend for another day So Mun." She rolls her pretty eyes at him. So Mun is smirking at her and shrugging his shoulders. "Well, it's in on the other side of the town. It won't hurt us to have someone to drive us there." He smiles so pretty at her while showing his innocent eyes.

 

Hana noona is scoffed at him, "whatever you say brat. I am going to change!" Then she gets down from the boxing ring and walks towards her bedroom also. So Mun is rolling his eyes. Noona is so party proper sometimes.

 

"So Mun-na, I am ready!"

 

"Let's go Hyung. But first we need to pick up Ju Yeon and Ung Min." So Mun is smiling so sweety at his Hyung. Hana noona might knows his trick but Jeok Bong hyung is so easy to be ask for a favor. He never says no to whatever So Mun's requests.

The drive to the concert place is fun. The musician who will be performing tonight is So Mun's favorite. They are indi band and So Mun's already listening to all their songs.

 

In fact, he is now singing their new single on top of his lungs along with Ju Yeon and Ung Min, who sit on the back seat. Never mind the off-key and out of tune singing voice, they have the best time of their live.

 

Their laughter is contagious. Jeok Bong can't help but to laugh with them. Growing up he never really had a friend. Well, he had his cows, which he considered his best friends. But having So Mun and his friends is so enjoyable. These three young people know how to have fun.

 

Everyone in the counters gangs is so serious. So Jeok Bong very appreciates their's company.

 

"Hyung, look. We're almost there. Wow! They're a lot people already." So Mun can't control his enthusiasm. The kid is bouncing on his seat white the smile that never leaves his face. The people in the backseat car also share the same enthusiasm. The three of them look at the side of the car with awed look on their face.

 

Jeok Bong is laughing at them. They are so cute like that.

 

They stop at the parking lot and get down from the car.

 

"Who is holding the tickets?" Ung Min asks no one in particular.

 

"Got it here. Don't worry. I won't lose it!" Ju Yeon is answering him while holding the said tickets on her hand.

 

"Let's go! I can wait for the concert!" So Mun is leading them in to the entrance gate. Ju Yeon is giving the tickets to the guy who stands there and then they enter the venue.

 

"Come on! Where should we go first? I don't think the concert will be start until late evening."

 

They look around at the venue. Aside of the huge stage in the west side of the venue, they're a lot of food stall there and many benches line up at the side of the venue, they assume they are for people who want to eat or just enjoy the scenery.

 

Jeok Bong wants to have coffee, and he asks the others what they want. "Hyung, Ju Yeon want coffee latte, Ung Min and I are fine with Americano, please and thank you!" So Mun is telling him with a sweet smile on his face. The other three say they will wait for him on the bench near the tree. It's 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the sun shines so bright above their heads. They want to sit under the shade, they tell Jeok Bong.

 

"Okay, hyung will buy for you. Wait for a second!" He answers him and then promptly walks away to buy the youngster's orders. He is the oldest anyway, he will buy them anything. That's what a good brother does!

 

Jeok Bong is back with their coffee. He is heading to their seat.

 

"Where is So Mun?" He asks because he only sees Ung Min and Ju Yeon sit there.

 

"He said he want to go to the bathroom." Ju Yeon answers him and takes the coffee he is offering. Jeok Bong also gives Ung Min his coffee. Then he sits down next to him.

 

"Let's wait for him then. What time the concert is starting again?" He puts So Mun's coffee on the table and takes a sip on his.

 

"It say at 5 pm at the brochure."

 

"Okay, then. If you're hungry, tell me okay. We can have lunch first before seeing the concert. Don't worry, It's on me." Jeok Bong is smiling at them.

 

"Thank you Hyung! Thank you Oppa!" They both shout their gratitude to him. Making him laughs a loud. They both are surely cute.

 

They are sipping their coffee while waiting for So Mun to come back. The people is starting to fill the venue. Maybe in the next hours the place will be full of people already.

 

"It's been 30 minutes since he left. Where do you think he's going?" Jeok Bong can't help to voice his question to the other two.

 

"He was heading that way." Ju Yeon answers him while pointing to the direction behind her. Jeok Bong decides to look for him. It's not like he doesn't trust So Mun to be okay on his own. But with this many people, he is worry that So Mun can't find them in the crowd.

 

So, Jeok Bong is heading to the direction Ju Yeon pointed earlier while looking at his surroundings. Hoping he will spot a curly hair among the sea of black heads.

 

Jeok Bong is looking at his left side when he spots a huge crowd of people standing close by. Driving by his curiosity he comes close to them. He then sees huge trampoline with a safety net surrounding it.

 

It's full of people who are jumping up and down inside the net. As he walks closer he recognizes the jacket and curly hair of someone who is having the blass while jumping on the trampoline.

 

So Mun is smiling so wide with childlike expression on his cute face. Jeok Bong can literally hears his laughter from where he is standing outside the net.

 

"So Mun-na!" He calls the younger one.

 

So Mun is turning his head to his left when he hears someone is calling him.

 

"Jeok Bong hyung!" He is waving at Jeok Bong while continuing to jump.

 

"So Mun-na is having a good time, yes?" Jeok Bong can't help to tease the younger one. So Mun is giggling back at him.

 

"This is so much fun, Hyung! Don't you want to try?" So Mun is yelling at him from inside.

 

"Nah, you can go ahead. I will wait for you here!"

 

"Okay! Hyung watch! I can jump so high!" So Mun is bending his knees and raising his arms up, then leaping to the air.

 

Jeok Bong is giving him proud smile, which in a second turning into horror when he sees what happens to So Mun.

 

As So Mun falls down from his jump, the other person who is also jumping near him bumps into his shoulder, making So Mun misses his landing and falls on his ankle.

 

So Mun wince where he is sitting down on the trampoline, while holding his right ankle. The other person who bumped into him was continuing to jump without seeing the accident. Resulting So Mun is also bouncing up and down from his position on the bottom of the trampoline.

 

Jeok Bong can tell that So Mun is holding back his pain. He wants to get down from the trampoline but he can't because the other people are still bouncing around him.

 

Jeok Bong is running for his dear live, trying to find the responsible guard that can help So Mun. He does find one and tells him about the accident. The guard then tells the other people to get down while he is offering his hand to help So Mun out from there.

 

Jeok Bong is at his side instantly when the kid is safely outside the trampoline. He is holding his right arm and helping him to walk over to the chair near there.

 

"So Mun-na, are you okay?" He asks him worrying.

 

"I am fine. I don't think it's broken, but it hurts if I put my weight on it." He says to him while looking at him so pitiful.

 

The other guard comes near them and offers an medical assistant. He says they can come to hospital or he can treat the injury at the infirmary they have in the venue.

 

Jeok Bong wants to bring So Mun to the hospital. His injury looks bad. It's starting to look purple. It looks so painful.

 

"Let's go to the hospital So Mun-na!"

 

"No. The concert is about to begin. I don't want to miss it!" The kid is refusing with all his might. While wincing at the same time.

 

"It looks bad So Mun-na! Let's treat it first okay!"

 

"No!" This kid can be really stubborn at the wrong situation. Jeok Bong sighs at his stubbornness. He knows one So Mun is deciding on something, it's very difficult to change his mind.

 

"Can you treat the wound here, sir?" Jeok Bong is giving up to convince the brat to go to the hospital. How could he anyway, with the way So Mun looks at him with his famous puppy dog eyes. There is a reason why everyone at the counter gangs can't say no to So Mun easily. Even Wi Gen has difficulty to refuse his request lately. He and his puppy dog eyes are the best weapons he can ever get.

 

Jeok Bong is carrying the kid on his back while following the guard to the infirmary. There, the doctor wraps his ankle with brown bandages. He also gives him a painkiller and water.

 

After saying thank you to the doctor, Jeok Bong once again puts the kid on his back and carries him towards his friends who are waiting them.

 

"So Mun-na, what happened to you?" Ung Min asks him when he sees So Mun on Jeok Bong's back.

 

"I sprained my ankle."

 

"Does it hurt? Do you want to go back?" Ju Yeon is asking him more questions as he is being placed on the bench by Jeok Bong hyung.

 

"No! I don't want to go home. We're already here, let's enjoy the concert, okay! I am fine. Don't worry about me!" The kid is trying to convince his friends into staying. He won't miss the chance to see his favorite musician because of stupid sprained ankle.

 

"But, you won't be able to stand near the stage with your ankle like that." Ung Min is trying to reason with him. But the kid refuses to back down.

 

"You both can go ahead. I will see it from the balcony over there. You guys can enjoy the music like you planned."

 

"But, So Mun-na, the balcony is so far at the back. You won't be able to see them clearly. And don't you dare to ask us standing in the front while you being alone in the back." Ju Yeon clearly has enough of So Mun stubbornness. With stern face she is trying to reason with him. But, So Mun keeps shaking his head. He is staying there.

 

Ju Yeon is sighed for the unkept times, and before she can say anything further, Jeok Bong is cutting her. "Don't worry about So Mun-na. I will go with him. You both can go at the front stage."

 

They both look at him as if he is crazy. And then they manages to speak at the same time, "if So Mun is watching from the back, we're also watching with him!"

 

Jeok Bong can't contain his smile. They are really really cute together. He is so glad So Mun has them as friends. They understand him and willingly stay by his side. Today he is seeing another side of So Mun he didn't know existed.

 

So Mun is so serious sometimes while fighting the evil spirits. He is never hesitant to be in the front line of danger in order to protect his family. But today he is being childish and carefree self.

 

"Alright, I think the sound check is began. Why don't we all going to the balcony over there to find seats." Jeok Bong is suggesting for them to move so that they can find a good seat to watch the music show. They are walking towards the building and Jeok Bong is on duty of carrying So Mun. The kid says sorry for being inconvenience for him, but he brushes it off. He is older, it's his job to help him. He doesn't need to worry about that.

 

They find seat on the center of the balcony, and planning to enjoy the concert as much they want. The sounds check begins, their place in the balcony is not bad at all. They can hear the music clearly. Even though it's quiet far from the stage, but the huge screen on the back of the stage helps them to see the performers. So Mun is glad at least they can somehow enjoy the concert.

 

They rest of the evening is somehow quite enjoyable. So Mun is enjoying himself despite not being able to stand up, he is singing along the whole song while sitting up. Ju Yeon and Ung Min is not holding back. They are shouting the lyrics and dancing with their whole body. Jeok Bong is sitting there while clapping his hands. He doesn't know the song at all. But, it's okay. Tonight is special experience for him and he is loving every second of that.

 

It's 9 pm already, the concert is huge success, everyone is happy with it. Jeok Bong is one again driving them back to town. Ung Min and Ju Yeon are passed out on the back. So Mun is smiling at him at the passenger seat.

 

"Hyung, thank you for today. I'm glad you can come with us."

 

"No problem at all. If you guys are planning to go again, please let me know, okay!"

 

"Sure, Hyung!"

 

After dropping off Ju Yeon and Ung Min to their houses, Jeok Bong is heading to their place. So Mun is putting his head on the window. He is so sleepy. Somehow, all his energy is sucked up by his excitement before.

 

"Just sleep So Mun-na. We are almost home!" Jeok Bong notices he is almost passed out. So Mun is murmuring about, "it's okay, he is not that sleepy!"

 

Jeok Bong lets out chuckles at his side.

 

After parking the car at the basement, Jeok Bong is putting his arms on So Mun back and under his knees, and then carefully placing the kid's head on his shoulder. He is carrying the younger one to their home. So Mun is letting out soft murmurs but not waking up from his slumber. He looks exhausted. And little pale. Maybe the ankle is bad now. Jeok Bong decides he will tell Mrs. Chu about it, so that she can help him.

 

When he is reaching the kitchen, he sees Mrs. Chu sitting on one of the chair. Looks like she is waiting for them.

 

"Jeok Bong-ah. Why do you guys come home so late?" She is standing up when she sees them. Then approaching them. "Aigo, what are you guys doing all day? So Mun looks really tired."

 

"Mrs. Chu. We had the best day at the concert today. But please would you look at his ankle. He sprained his right one. I think it's getting worse now." Jeok Bong is explaining the incident today to Mrs. Chu.

 

"Aigo, this child. Why is the concert so important than his own comfort? Just lay him down on the bed. I will look at it!"

 

Jeok Bong carries him to the bedroom and lays him down on his bed. Then Mrs. Chu removes his shoes and sock, and throwing away the bandage, revealing a purple and swollen ankle.

 

"Oh my. How can it goes this bad? Did you guys go to the hospital?"

 

"So Mun-ni didn't want to go Mrs. Chu. I already told him to, but you know him. He can be stubborn little brat if he wants too." Jeok Bong is complaining about So Mun to her.

 

"You're right. He can be little brat if he wants to!" She is laughing at him while healing his ankle. It looks better now after Mrs. Chu finishes.

 

"Just let him sleep here tonight. Have you had dinner Jeok Bong-ah?" Mrs. Chu is asking him.

 

"I have with So Mun and his friends. Thank you Mrs. Chu."

 

"Okay, then. Let's sleep now. It's getting late."

 

"Ah, Mrs. Chu. Would you mind doing something for me?"

 

"What is it?"

 

"Don't get mad at So Mun about his sprained ankle, please. It's my fault for not taking care at him properly." Jeok Bong is sheepishly asking her to spare So Mun. He knows if the youngest gets lectures about his carelessness, he will be sulking for the whole day, and his happiness from the concert will be stained.

 

"Sure, Jeok Bong. You are a good brother. Thank you for looking after him."

 

"Don't mention it Mrs. Chu. I am so glad I have all of you."

 

"Good nite, Jeok Bong-ah!"

After Mrs. Chu is getting out from his room, Jeok Bong is changing his clothes into a t-shirt for sleeping and then he climbs into So Mun bed above him and closed his eyes. He also has the best day of his live.

Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Summary:

Today is sunny and beautiful day. So Mun wakes up refresh after well-rested night. He stretches his arms above his head and lets out a sastified noice when his bones are cracking on its joint.

Then, he climbs down his bunk bed and heading towards the bathroom.

 

After finishing shower, he is changing into white t-shirts and cargo pants and heading towards the kitchen to find his teammates.

 

"Good morning Mrs. Chu!" He greets her when he sees her sitting on the dining table.

 

"Good morning to you too. Sit here and have breakfast So Mun-ah!" She is beckoning him over and he is happily obligated. He sits down next to her and starts to help himself on the breakfast.

 

"Thank you for the meal, Mrs. Chu!" He thanks Mrs. Chu who is making it and starting to eat his meal.

 

"Eat a lot So Mun-ah!"

 

"Yes, Mrs. Chu!

 

"What are you doing today So Mun-ah?"

 

"I am not sure. Maybe I will draw or something." He says while shrugging his shoulders. He doesn't have any plans honestly. His best friends haven't said anything to him since last week. He hasn't met them for a while now. Maybe he should call them.

 

"You don't want to go out today? Don't you have a appointment with your friends?" Mrs. Chu keeps prying, it's not like she doesn't like to have him around. But, she feels bad for him if he spends to many days staying at their hideout. Young boy like him should be out and meet new people and make new friends. It's bad enough that he must sacrifice his life to fight evil spirit on daily basis. At the very least, he should be having fun while he can.

 

"No, I don't think Ju Yeon and Ung Min is free today. They're busy with their Uni life." So Mun answers her nonchalantly.

 

Mrs. Chu signs as he continues to finish his food. So Mun is a good kid. She is so grateful he can be joining their team. Ever since she met him for the first time, she had a feeling that he would be a great counter. And now he is growing up to be good-hearted young man. Always wanting to save other people.

 

"Where is everyone?" He asks her when he notices nobody is joining him at the breakfast table.

 

"Mo Tak already left for work. Jeok Bong, I am not sure where is he actually and Hana already goes out earlier." She answers him.

 

"I see. Okay then I'll be in my room Mrs. Chu. The food is so delicious like usual. Thank you for making it." So Mun is smiling at her while showing his gratitude. Her cooking is the best of the best. Mrs. Chu laughs when she listens to his compliment. He then helps her to wash the remaining dirty plates. After that he is heading back to his room.

 

Now, he is alone at his bedroom. He is standing there in the middle of the room with his hands on his waist and pouting. He doesn't have any slightest idea what to do. He looks at his desk at his sketch book but he doesn't have any desire to draw today. Then his stare falls on his mother old cd player on his desk near his laptop. He grabs it and checks on what's inside. He pulls out the CD and puts it on its case then puts it back at the shelf among the other CDs.

 

Then, he is grabbing another CD case. It's his favorite. It does belong to his mom. The singer was released the song on the 90th. Way before he was born. But his mom told him that it's her favorite song. The first time he listened to it, he didn't understand it all. But now he kinda likes it.

 

So mun is putting the CD on the CD player, wearing the headphones on his head, hitting play on the devise, and starting dancing around his room.

He is singing along the lyrics out loud while spinning around on his feet. He is so immersed on himself, that he doesn't pay attention to his surroundings. And very surprises when he feels a slight tap on his shoulder.

 

He lets out a little yelp and faces whoever is behind him. He rips off the headsets from his ears and shouts when he sees it his Hyung.

 

"Hyung, don't scare me like that!" He is complaining to him while putting his hand on his chest. Trying to normal his heart beats. It's beating so loud right now.

 

His Hyung has the audacity to laugh at him. "Sorry So Mun-ah. I just want to ask you to come with me to buy something. But you look like you are enjoying yourself here."

 

So Mun clears his throat, his face is blushing a little bit because he is caught on singing and dancing like an idiot.

 

"Well, I don't really have anything to do but.." He is telling his hyung without actually looks at his face, Jeok Bong lets out a small snort at his action but decides not to tease him. He is so cute like that. Letting himself lost on music. So Mun must love it very much.

 

"Do you want to go with me?" He asks the younger once more time.

 

So Mun looks uncertain. In one hand he doesn't have anything to do today, but in the other hand he doesn't really want to go out. He just wants to relax at his room and enjoys his music.

 

"Er.. I...."

 

"It's okay if you don't want to. I can go by myself." Jeok Bong is cutting him off. Offering an alternative when he sees that the younger is reluctant to go.

 

"Sorry Hyung. But I just wanna stay here for a while." He smiles sheepishly at his Hyung.

 

"No problem at all. Then I'll leave you alone, sorry for startling you!" Jeok Bong is offering him a smile back and heading out from their share bedroom.

 

So Mun chuckles at himself. And shakes his head. Then he puts back his headphones and listens to the music one more time.

 

This time he just nods his head along with the music and sit on his desk. Deciding that drawing might be a good idea. The song is helping him with inspiration. Music always helps him focus on task. Like studying, doing homework or sketching.

 

He must be sitting there for hours because his throat is screaming for attention. He is so thirsty. He puts down his pencil and without taking off the headphones or turning off the cd player he goes out from his room and heading towards the kitchen while pocketing the player on his back pocket.

 

After gulping the entire water on the tall glass he found in the cabinet, he puts it on the sink to wash later. Then he walks back to his bedroom.

 

Just as he is about to open his bedroom door, he notices that the lamp on the ceiling in front of his room is flickering. It flickers for couples of times and then it goes dark.

 

He looks up to see if the lamp will turn on by itself, but it does nothing.

 

So, he decides to get a replacement and a ladder in the storage room.

 

He is carrying the ladder on his left arm and a lamp on the other hand. Then he positions the ladder under the lamp and starts climbing it.

 

When he reaches out the ceiling, he then promptly whirls the lamp on its socket until it comes lose. Then he brings the replacement he just brought from the storage room up. He is about to put it in when his finger accidentally touch the socket. It sends electric wire though his arm and his body, making him jolts back and loses his step.

 

He is letting out yelp as he is falling backwards. He closes his eyes. Branching himself on the collision with the floor beneath him. Embracing the pain that might come when his back meets the floor.

 

But, to his surprised the pain never comes. He dares open his eyes and finds himself on the arms of none other than Chairman Choi. Mr. Choi is putting his arms on his back and behind his knee to support him so that he won't fall flat on his head. So Mun is too shocked to say anything but to stare at him with his eyes wide open.

 

"You okay So Mun-ah?" Mr. Chou is letting him stand on his own feet but still having his arm around him.

 

So Mun is ripping off the headphones on his ears and let it falls down to the floor when the cd player is falling from his back pocket. He couldn't care less with it for now. His fingers are tingling and he is still shaking all over his body.

 

"Yeah. I think so. Thank you so much, Mr. Choi." He is okay, but his cheeks are turning a little bit pink. He can't believe he is making a fool of himself in front of Chairman Choi. He is the ACE of the team, the strongest of them all. Yet, somehow he is always in a position that needs saving from his teammates. He can feel himself turning redder and redder now.

 

"Be careful when you touch the electricity, okay. It's dangerous if you touch it without proper gloves." Mr. Choi is giving him lecture and he just nods his head. To ashamed to face him properly.

 

"What's going on here? Why I heard someone yelling?" Suddenly Mrs. Chu is at their side. She looks concerns when she sees So Mun still on Mr. Choi's embrace. She promptly comes to his side to check on him.

 

"So Mun-na is trying to fix the broken lamp, but got electrocuted instead." Mr. Choi is answering her questions.

 

"Oh my goodness! Are you okay So Mun-ah?" Her mother's hen mode is activated after she listened to his explanation. She takes So Mun's hand for inspection, to see if he hurts himself. She notices he is still shaking and then she is guiding him into his room and tells him to sit on Jeok Bong's bed.

 

"Your finger burns a little. But it's okay. The wound is not that deep. I can heal it!" She then closes her eyes and not even five seconds later his finger is getting its natural color back. Then he realizes his body also stops shaking.

 

"Thank you Mrs. Chu. I didn't know what's happening to me lately. But I am very clumsy apparently." He is shyly looks at her and Mr. Choi who sits next to him on the bed.

 

He is indeed a walking disaster lately. First, an accident with the kitchen knife, the he sprained his ankle and then this. He doesn't understand what happened but he will make sure it won't happen again.

 

"Don't worry about it, kiddo. I am just glad it's nothing serious." Mr. Choi is patting his hand and Mrs. Chu is brushing stray hair that fall over his eyes.

 

"It's really okay, So Mun-ah. When you hurt don't hesitate to call for our help okay." She smiles at him as of she understands that he somehow is embarrassed with the event just now.

 

"Yes, Mrs. Chu!" He nods his head and thanks her and Mr. Choi one more time.

 

"Why don't you take a rest. It must be very shocking for you." Mr. Choi then asks him to lay down on the bed. Without any complain he is laying down, maybe a nap is good for him. Being electrocuted is surely a horrible experience.

 

"But, how about the lamp?" He is about to get up when he remembers that he was in the middle of replacing the broken lamp himself.

 

"Don't worry about it. I'll ask Jeok Bong to fix it later." Mrs. Chu is then pushing him to lay down again.

 

"My cd player!" He suddenly remembers it. He was listening to music earlier. And he just dropped it outside. What if it's broken. He will be very sad if his precious cd player is ruined.

 

"Don't worry. I'll go get it!" Mr. Choi then gets out from his room and back again with his cd player. Thankfully is still intact. No scratches at all. So Mun breath in relieved.

 

"Just sleep So Mun-ah." Mrs. Chu tells her good bye and she and Mr. Choi are getting out from his room.

 

So Mun puts the cd player on the desk near the bed, and closes his eyes. Not a minute pass, his breathing is getting steady as he is slowly coming into dreamland.

 

Despite not doing anything, he is sure feeling exhausted.

Chapter 4: Chapter Four

Summary:

"Oh, I guarantee you he will not. He is grounded from now on. Somebody needs to be with him 24 hours. I still don't trust him by himself right now. If he wants to get out, he needs my permission first, and if I say no, he will listen. Understand everyone!" Mrs. Chu is very mad apparently. She is standing there, putting her hands on her waist and dare to anyone to say objections to her idea.

So Mun pouts at her. Nobody is hearing his protest.

Mrs. Chu is making dinner for everyone when she sees So Mun is walking toward her in the kitchen.

 

"And where do you think you're going young man?" She is asking him when she notices that he is wearing his favorite black baseball jacket and boots.

 

So Mun, who is in the middle of taking dumplings from its plate, looks up to her and grinning before answering. "I am about to go with Ung Min and Ju Yeon to watch movie at the theater."

 

"Without having dinner?" Mrs. Chu is raising one of her eyebrow to him.

 

"Er, we will have one after we sees the movie. Don't worry Mrs. Chu." So Mun is answering her while putting the said dumplings to his mouth.

 

"It's 7 pm So Mun-ah. What time you are planning to go home then?" She is continuing to plester him questions. Making him stop his eating and stares at her.

 

"I am not really sure." He answers her while shrugging his shoulders.
"Bye, Mrs. Chu. I'll be going now!" He then waves to her while grabbing few dumplings into his hand. Then running away from her.

 

"That kid!" She is watching his back with little sigh. It's not like she doesn't want him to go. She is glad actually that he still has time to have fun and hangs out with his best friends, it's just she has an uneasy feeling about it tonight. Lately, the youngest counter has a little accident when he is alone, so she is little worry about him.

 

She just hopes he is okay.

 

"So Mun is going away?" Suddenly Jeok Bong is beside her, making she jumps because she is startled.

 

"Aigo, Jeok Bong-ah. You startled me!" She is caressing her chest and answers him. "Yes, he said he's with Ung Min and Ju Yeon." Then she is back at the stove to continue cooking the food.

 

"Ah, where is everyone else?" He is asking her while helping her by putting the kimchi into a plate.

 

"Hana is in her room. Mr. Choi will join us later. Mo Tak is working I think. He said he wouldn't come home tonight."

 

"Ah, okay. Then I will prepare four rices for us then."

 

"Thank you Jeok Bong-ah!"

 

"No problem Mrs. Chu!"

"So Mun-na, over here!" So Mun is walking towards the theater when he spots Ung Min and Ju Yeon stand in front of the front gate. He waves back at them and approaches them.

 

"Hey, are you waiting long?"

 

"Not at all. let's go inside! The movie is about to start!"

 

"Let's go!"

 

They are watching the new marvel movie. Park Seo Jong is staring at the film. Making them proud of him. He is one of the talented actor who succeeds to go internasional.

 

The movie is funny and interesting. The fight scene is also great. It's save to say the movie is not disappointed.

 

So Mun loves everything about it.

 

After watching movie, they decide that they want to have noodle for dinner. So they head out to the famous noodle place near the train station.

 

They are chating about the movie they saw earlier while laughing among themselves. So Mun misses his friends. It's good to hang out with them. The last time he saw them was at the concert, when he had stupid accident. It's all thanks Jeok Bong hyung they could still enjoy the music show.

 

Arriving at the noodles place, Ju Yeon places their orders.

 

Three bowls of noodle are served at the table and they begin to dig in.

 

"Yah, So Mun-ah. How about the next chapter of our webtoon? Have you started it yet?" Ung Min is asking him in the middle of eating.

 

So Mun is telling him not to worry, he is working on it. "I am on the tenth pages now. Don't worry I will finish it as soon as possible."

 

"Great. Can't wait for the upload. Many viewers are asking for the next chapter you now."

 

"I am so glad many people like our content." So Mun is grinning so wide at his best friends. They also smile back at him.

 

"Of course, we have the best story, and we have your best drawing." Ju Yeon is so proud of them. They work well together. The webtoon is the only thing that get them together until now. It's little sad, but she has to admit that they are not as close as they used to be. They are busy with their lives after all.

 

Although, she is always wondering what is So Mun doing when he is not with them. Since high school he has so many secrets. She can't help but be curious, even though she and Ung Min made a promise not to ask questions but she very concerns about So Mun. Deep down in her heart, she suspects he does something dangerous. He had fallen into a coma last time for God Sake. That must counts as dangerous stuff, doesn't it?

 

But, she did promise not to say anything so she didn't. She and Ung Min will completely support So Mun, no matter what he does.

 

After dinner, they says their good bye. It's 11 pm already. Pretty late for Ju Yeon and Ung Min. They have class in the morning anyway.

 

So Mun is walking alone towards Jangmul Retails. He is sure Mrs. Chu is waiting for him. She looked concern before when he talked to her. He is not sure why, he is fine. And he is not a little boy anymore. He can take care of himself.

 

So Mun is walking by the park when he sees some shadow running among the tree. He is paying attention to them as the figure is crouching down on the bushes, as if they are hiding from someone or something. The park is dark enough for them to not be seen by anyone.

 

That looks suspicious. He decides he wants to investigate. Why is the park always creepy at night.

 

He runs after the figure in light steps. He is crouching down himself behind a tree when he is near them. He stares at the dark figure and waits what happens next.

 

The dark figure is taking something from his bag.

 

So Mun can't see what is it, so he sneaks closer.

 

He stops his tracks and hides behind a huge trash can when he notices the dark figure is standing up. He then takes a peek from behind the trash can to see what is he up to.

 

Someone is approaching the dark figure. Tall man with huge shoulders while wearing a dark hoody.

 

They are exchanging something.

 

So Mun watches as the new guys takes money from his bag. And the other person gives him a white packet. After the transaction is over, they both separate. The tall man with the dark hoody is heading south, the other is going the opposite him.

 

So Mun is perplexed which way he should go.

 

He then decides to follow the tall man to the south. He wants to know what is in the white packet he received.

 

He is running after him, afraid that he will lose him.

 

For about an hour he walks behind the tall guy. He is keeping his distance. He doesn't want to get caught, of course.

 

They are on the abandon building near the harbor. So Mun realizes he is too far away from the city. There is not a single human nearby, the only sound that follows So Mun is only his own heartbeat.

 

He wants to go back but he's also curious about the tall man. Then suddenly the tall man is entering one of the building there.

 

So mun is hiding behind the wall while watching him, he just about to follow him when suddenly someone is grabbing him from behind. A hand is covering his mouth, and another arm is circling his torso, trapping his arm to the side of his body.

 

He is trying to jerk away from the figure who traps him. But before he can do much, the figure behind him is putting something inside mouth. The hand who covers his mouth is also pressing his face hard. Making it's difficult for him to breathe. Then he angles So Mun's head upward.

 

It happens really fast, because he is facing upward now, and because of hand covering his mouth and nose, So Mun is trying to get air into his lung, resulting he opens his throat and swallows whatever inside his mouth.

 

He is coughing so hard and finally the hand is releasing him.

 

So Mun is falling on his knee. Trying to control his breath. Then a foot is making connection to his stomach, making him doubling over on the pavement.

 

Another kick is aimed to his abdomen, making him groan.

 

"Yah, you should be careful. This mother fucker is following you. He could be a cop!"

 

So Mun hears his attacker is talking to the other figure above him. Before he can see how is it. More kicks are being thrown at his face. Then he is being lifted by his collar of his jacket and thrown into the wall.

 

Before he can do anything to his attacker, he is getting punch over and over again on his head.

 

Blood is coming over his mouth, he pretty sure he has a cut to on his temple soon he is getting dizzy because of the punches.

 

He is about to fall before an arm is pressing his throat making him grasping for an air.

 

"Hey, asshole. Who are you? Why are you following me?" The tall man is getting close to his face. He is sneering at him.

 

So Mun is trying so hard to shove the arm away but for some reason he can't. His breathing is coming short. His chest is heavy, he has trouble breathing. It's like he is under the water. His head is getting heavier as he stands there. The pounding is getting louder inside his head.

 

With last energy he has he is calling the territory. Hoping Hana noona or somebody can find him before it's too late.

 

The bright color of territory is surrounding them.

 

So Mun is almost losing his consciousness. His strength is leaving him. That can't be right, the Yung territory is making them stronger. But what he feels right now is the opposite of strong. He feels weak. His body is not responding to him well.

 

"Do you think the drug is working right now?" Another voice is joining them.

 

"I think so. Look at his pupils. They are dilated. His breathing is short. And his heart is pounding so hard I can feel it in my hand." The other person is answering him.

 

So Mun is standing there hopeless and can't do anything to defend himself. He just hope his teammates are coming for him.

Hana is laying down on her bed when she has a vision.

 

She is jolted awake and grabs her phone. She is running towards the car in the basement when she dials Mo Tak's number. She hopes he is not so far away from the harbor.

 

Mrs. Chu who is still awake waiting for So Mun is calling her.

 

"Hana-ya. What's going on?"

 

"So Mun hurt, Mr. Chu!" She only needs that sentence to make her running after her.

 

Don't die So Mun-ah! I am coming for you!

 

She is opening the car door along with Mrs. Chu and driving as fast as she can to the youngest.

Ga Mo Tak and Kang Han Ul are on the stake out. They are waiting inside their vehicle near the abandon building near the harbor. They had an info that a group of people is distributing a new type of drug.

 

Mo Tak is holding a walky-talky on his hand. Ready to call back up when needed. He is looking outside his car window when he sees territory soars so bright in one of the building near them.

 

He is startled and then his phone is ringing.

 

"Hello!"

 

"Sunbae! Where are you? So Mun is in trouble. Please find him!" Hana sound very distresses on the other side of the line. Then she hung up on him.

 

Ga Mo Tak then opens his car door and runs for his dear life towards the blinding color. His heart is pounding so hard, he hopes he can find So Mun there.

 

Han Ul is calling him from behind. But he ignores him.

 

He needs to find So Mun immediately.

 

Ga Mo Tak sees red when he watches the scene in front of him.

 

He sees two figures are encircling someone who is leaning on the wall.

 

Mo Tak can recognizes that curly hair everywhere.

 

"What do you think you're doing?" He is screaming at those people over there.

 

The two men is startled and turn towards him.

 

One of them is grabbing So Mun in front of him as a shield.

 

The kid looks bad. He has blood all over his face. He has trouble standing up too. If not because of the arm circles his throat, Mo Tak is sure he will tumbling over.

 

"Let him go!" Mo Tak is clutching his hand, ready to strike.

 

Han Ul who is finally catching his senior is very shock to see what happens in front of him.

 

He never sees his senior so mad before. But now he knows why is the called the almighty cop. His face is so scary, like he is ready to kill somebody.

 

Mo Tak then march forward them with full speed. He is throwing punch to the face on the guy on the left. It happens so fast, the guys doesn't see it coming.

 

He is knock down immediately with a broken nose.

 

Then Mo Tak turns to the other guys and throws another punch towards him.

 

Before the bad guy falls to the floor, Mo Tak is grabbing So Mun's head and embraces him close on his chest.

 

"So Mun-na, you're okay?" He is shaking the kid body to make his response to his question.

 

But he is unmoving. His eyes are rolled up inside his eyelids and then he passes out.

 

"So Mun-na!" Mo Tak is so scare now. He doesn't know what happens to the younger one.

 

"Sunbae, should we call an ambulance?" Han Ul is standing beside him, trying to be the reasonable one. His senior looks very distresses. He must knows the boy then.

 

"Call the police. Arrest those two assholes. Wait here until the cop is coming. I will take care of him." Mo Tak Sunbae is giving him order. Then he is lifting the kid on his arms like he weighs nothing. Sunbae is carrying him towards where his car is parked.

 

Han Ul is calling the rest of his team. Explaining the situation here. He then bends over on his knee to grasp the culprit wrists and handcuffs them together.

Before Mo Tak is arriving at his car, another car is stopping next to him.

 

A very worry Hana appears from the driver seat. Mrs. Chu is hot in her trail.

 

Both women is coming close to him.

 

"Is he okay? What happened sunbae?" Hana is so angry when she sees So Mun's condition. The younger is so pale. The blood on his face somehow makes him like a death corpse.

 

She will make whoever responsible for his condition pay very heavy price. She is clunching her hand into a fist.

 

"I found him already beaten and bruised Hana-ya. I don't know what happened either. Let's move to the car, please heal him Mrs. Chu!" Mo Tak is heading to their green jeep and puts So Mun on the back seat of the car. Then Mrs. Chu climbs next to him. She is putting his head on her lap and begins to scan him. Looking for any internal injury.

 

Mo Tak is climbing the driver seat and starts the car. Hana follows his step and climbs on the passenger seat next to him.

 

While Mrs. Chu healing So Mun, Mo Tak is driving home to their secret hideout. He doesn't want his fellow cops to find out about them.

 

Mrs. Chu is concentrating on healing So Mun. She is closing her eyes and focusing on his injury.

 

The cut on his face is starting to close up. His pale face is returning to his normal state. His breathing is also becoming normal. Mrs. Chu is letting him sleep, deciding good sleep may help him to recover faster.

 

Mrs. Chu sighs when she finishes. She opens her eyes and looks at the front seat, staring at the worry faces of Hana and Mo Tak.

 

"He is okay, he doesn't have any internal injury. But I think he was given something, a drug or another substance to subdue him." Mrs. Chu is explaining his condition to them.

 

Mo Tak is so mad he hits the steering wheel so hard.

 

How dare they did that to So Mun!

 

Hana is clenching her fist so hard and makes it bleed. But she doesn't care about that.

 

"Who did this to him Sunbae? I saw two people with him. Who are they?" Hana is speaking very calmy but Mo Tak can fells her anger radiant around the car. He is also angry.

 

Oh, he wishes he can do more than knock those asshole down. But he is working to the law enforcement and Han Ul is there with him. He can't just killed those thugs. But, he will makes sure they rot on the prison forever.

 

"The police has them Hana-ya. Don't worry. I'll make sure they never see outside the prison ever again." He is assuring Hana who is on her fight mode. He sees her taking a deep breath, she is calming herself. The most important thing right now is So Mun is save with them.

 

When they arrive at the Jangmul Retails, and park the car. Mo Tak is opening the backseat door to gather So Mun once again on his arms and carries him towards his bedroom.

 

Hana and Mrs. Chu is following behind him.

 

Jeok Bong is jolted awake when Mo Tak opens the door with his leg. He stands up from his bed when he sees So Mun on Sunbae's arm, unconscious. He is followed by Hana shi and Mrs. Chu

 

"So Mun-na! What happened to him?" He is shouting at them while approaching them with worry on his voice.

 

"Calm down Jeok Bong! He is sleeping now. Don't bother him! Let him rest!" Mrs. Chu is telling him to be quite. Jeok Bong shuts his mouth but he is watching Mo Tak lays him down on his bed with worry.

 

"Let him sleep on your bed tonight. You can sleep on his!" Mo Tak Sunbae is giving him an order and he just nods his head. He would give everything to So Mun, including his bed when he needs it.

 

Mrs. Chu is caressing his curly hair. A relief is showing on her old face. So Mun is back to them, unharm. She is so relieved.

 

Hana shi is grasping his hand tightly. She then closes her eyes. After that she opens them and gets up from the bed and walks towards Mo Tak Sunbae. They are talking to each other with hushed voice.

 

Then Mrs. Chu also stands up and tells them to go to sleep. They can talk in the morning.

 

One by one the gets out from his bedroom. Leaving him alone with the youngest counter.

 

Looking at So Mun's sleeping face, he decides to climb on his bed and sleep there. He is sure everyone will fill him in on what happened tonight.

When So Mun is slowly coming to his sense. He feels his head is about to explode and his stomach is upset. He is opening his eyes and discovers that he is back to his room.

 

He slowly gets up and sits on the bed. Just as he is about to gets down from his bed, the door is opened by Jeok Bong Hyung.

 

He is on his side immediately when he sees he is awake.

 

"How are you feeling So Mun-ah?" He is asking him while putting his hand on his shoulder.

 

Before So Mun can answer his question though, his stomach is deciding that at that moment it'll empty Its content. So Mun then throws up on Hyung shirt.

 

Jeok Bong is so startled he can't even speak. His mouth and eyes are open wide. He is holding So Mun's shoulder so that he won't tumbling over the bed.

 

"Hyung, I am really sorry!" The kid looks at him with his wide innocent eyes. He looks very sorry to for causing trouble for him.

 

"It's okay So Mun-na. You're sick. It's better for you to just let it out than holds it in your stomach." His Hyung is so nice. He is making a mess on his clothes but hyung keeps thinking about his health.

 

"Thank you hyung. I do feel better though after throwing up. Still my head is killing me. An aspirin will help me I think." The younger is holding his head on his hand while massaging his throbbing temple.

 

"Wait here. I am going to call Mrs. Chu. She can help you while I change my clothes."

 

"Hyung, thank you so much." The younger is telling him while his Hyung is getting out from the bedroom.

 

So Mun then decides he wants to lay down again. Maybe resting his head on the flat surface can help him with the pounding.

 

"So Mun-na, how are you feeling now?" Mrs. Chu is opening the door and walking towards him on the bed. She is touching his forehead to see if he has a fever. He doesn't. Then she is caressing his curly hair.

 

"I am okay I think. But my head hurt. Maybe an aspirin can help Mrs. Chu?" He is looking at her with a little smile on his lips.

 

"Sure. Why don't you get up and then take a shower. We need to talk about what happens yesterday." It's her tone that makes his smile disappear. She sounds sad and worry about him, and little bit angry too.

 

He doesn't like it if she is sad or angry with him.

 

"Okay!" He is answering her with little nod.

 

Then she is touching his forehead, and closes her eyes. He can feel that she is helping him with the headache.

 

His pounding is gone, his head feels okay now. When Mrs. Chu withdraws her hand, So Mun catches it and holds it tight.

 

"I'm sorry, and Thank you!" He is giving her, his famous puppy dog eyes. Hoping he can get a little smile in return.

 

Mrs. Chu then smiles at him and once again caressing his head with her other hand.

 

"Don't ever worry me again like that, okay. You have to promise me. I thought my heart is going to stop when I found you last night." Mrs. Chu sounds so sad and scares for him. All he can do is clutching her hand tighter and apologize for his wrong doing.

 

"Just get on the shower. We will wait for you at the dining table."

 

Then she is leaving him alone on the bed.

After breakfast, everyone is sitting together at the dining table.

 

So Mun is sitting there with his head down low. Everyone is watching him closely.

 

Mo Tak ajushi who is sitting next to him is clearing his throat and begins to talk. "Care to explain to us what happened yesterday?"

 

So Mun lifts his head and sighs.

 

Then, he starts talking. How he accidentally saw the suspicious person exchanging something and how he decided to follow one of them.

 

He needs to pause when he is reaching the point when one of the man is forcing him to swallow drug he didn't know about.

 

Hana noona is mad, if eye contact can kills, So Mun will be dead under the ground right now.

 

Mrs. Chu is letting out gasps from her lips. Mo Tak ajushi is looking at him with wide eyes. He wants to say something but decides to let So Mun finishes his story.

 

"Then I called the territory and after that I don't remember anything!" So Mun is clenching his fists together and waits for the reaction from his family.

 

"So Mun-na, that is the most idiots idea that I ever head." Unsurprising it's Mr. Choi who speaks first. He sounds disappointed with his behaviors. So Mun doesn't dare to face him. He knows he deserves his disappointed.

 

"It's pure coincidence that Mo Tak is near that place. I am afraid to think that we are too far away from you to help you. We can be too late." Mrs. Chu then expresses her sadness too.

 

"Actually, it's not an accident. I was on a stake out yesterday with Han Ul. We received information about people who sells unidentified drug there." Mo Tak ajushi is explaining what he was doing there yesterday to them. " But, So Mun, I agree with Mr. Choi. What you did can be very dangerous, don't ever do it again, understand?" Mo Tak ajushi is making him look at his eyes when he makes him promise.

 

So Mun nods his head. He promises he will not be doing that again.

 

"Oh, I guarantee you he will not. He is grounded from now on. Somebody needs to be with him 24 hours. I still don't trust him by himself right now. If he wants to get out, he needs my permission first, and if I say no, he will listen. Understand everyone!" Mrs. Chu is very mad apparently. She is standing there, putting her hands on her waist and dare to anyone to say objections to her idea.

 

So Mun is so shocked, his mounts is wide open. He is about to protest when Ajushi is grabbing his arm. Ajushi is shaking his head no.

 

Hana noona's nodding towards Mrs. Chu. So Mun can't believe that she is supporting her. Jeok Bong hyung is volunteering to be So Mun's bodyguard. Mr. Choi is smiling to himself. Satisfying with the fact that Mrs. Chu is handling the situation well.

 

So Mun then pouts at them, nobody hears his protest.

 

well, it's his own fault anyway. Maybe he deserves it. Scary Mrs. Chu is not something that he wants to witness ever again.

 

Maybe he needs to lay low for a while.

Chapter 5: Chapter Five

Summary:

So Mun is feeling sorry for DoHwi hyung. It's like he goes to a date with a girl he likes plus her annoying little brother. He just smiles at So Mun after Noona is done introducing them.

It's been a week since So Mun has not been outside of the home. He is still grounded after all.

 

It's all because his terrible idea that put himself in danger, and Mrs. Chu had enough. She needed to do something to prevent he's getting hurt ever again. So, she was making drastic measurements to make sure their youngest counter is save and sound. He is not allowed to be alone outside of their save home.

 

So Mun is sulking on the few days, saying he is old enough already she can't ground him. His protest is passed on her deaf ears. She then looks at him unimpressed. That is enough to shut him up.

 

Maybe if pouting and sulking is not working on her, then he will be a good boy for now. He needs to follow her instructor in order for her to trust him again, thus him gaining his freedom again.

 

So Mun is staying at his room a lot these days. He has nothing better to do anyway. Besides training with Ajushi and noona, or drawing or sleeping. Mrs. Chu is watching him like a hawk. Never let her stare wavers. Well, at least his webtoon is done now. He is done drawing chapter ten and now he is sending it to Ung Min for further editing.

 

So Mun is yawning while closing his laptop. Not doing anything is causing him to be sleepy all the time. Then he gets up from his chair and goes out from his bedroom.

 

Maybe a coffee and snack is not bad idea. He is craving americano now.

 

On his way towards the kitchen to make it, he sees Hana noona comes out from her own bedroom.

 

"Noona. Do you want to go somewhere?" He asks her when he sees her wearing casual clothes.

 

"I am meeting with Doh Wi later. Why?" She is walking along with him to the kitchen.

 

So Mun is looking at her with curiosity. "Where to?"

 

"To the mall. Why?" She is side-eyeing him, somehow she knows what's he going to say.

 

That brat is looking at her with his huge bambi eyes and smile so sweet at her.

 

"Can I come? Please.. please.. please! I am so bored here, it's been a week without me actually doing something." He is holding her arm so tight while whining to her.

 

Hana shakes his hands off her and continues to walk. "You know the drill. You have to ask Mrs. Chu about it. If she says yes, then you can come." Hana noona is smirking at him, and leaving him alone standing there in the middle of the dining room. She then continues to walk towards the kitchen, she wants to have lunch before she goes with Doh Wi.

 

So Mun is pouting. Hana noona's taking this grounding thing seriously. She can just take him out without Mrs. Chu knowledge. It will be fine.

 

But, So Mun knows how noona's feeling about it. She is hundred percent supporting Mrs. Chu's decision. She won't make it easy for him. He then sighs and decides he needs permission from their resident mother hen.

 

So Mun is walking back towards the hall. Intending to find Mrs. Chu at her bedroom.

 

He is knocking down her room when he sees her sitting on the chair inside.

 

She is lifting her head when she hears him and beckoning him to come over. "What is it So Mun-ah?"

 

"Hana noona will be going out later, can I go with her, please?" He is standing in front of her, looking at her with his famous kicked puppy dog eyes. He knows she is hopeless when facing his sad eyes. He hopes this time she takes a pity on him and lets him out.

 

She then takes his hand on hers and holds it tight.

 

"So Mun-na. You know I just want you to be save right?". So Mun is nodding his head eagerly. Of course he knows that.

 

"Do you promise not to do anything stupid and listen to Hana?" She is making him promise her, and So Mun promises her that he will be good.

 

"Okay, then. You can go with Hana. But I want you back here again at 6. Not a minute late. Do you understand?"

 

So Mun is so happy that he can't control his smile. "Thank you Mrs. Chu. I promise I will be back before you know it." He promptly throws his arms around her and hugs her tight. Mrs. Chu is smiling at his action and pats his back.

 

She is aware that he is playing her right now, but it's been a week since she grounded him and he is taking it so well, minus couple first days that he was complaining right and there. But, she feels good today, maybe letting him going out for a couple hours is not going to be a problem. Besides he will go with Hana and Mrs. Chu trusts Hana. She won't let anything happen to him.

 

"Okay.. okay... Just have lunch before you go. I already cooked your favorite meal." She then puts her hands on his shoulders and gently pulls him away from her.

 

So Mun is still showing his gummy smile at her when he sprints away from her bedroom. While shouting, "Thank you so much Mrs. Chu!"

 

"Mom!" Suddenly a new voice is coming from her head.

 

"Su Ho-ya." She is smiling while answering her son. She then hears a chuckle before he answers her back. "I can believe you really ground So Mun and he actually listen to you."

 

Mrs. Chu then let out a laugh herself. "That kid needs it. He acts so impulsive sometimes. He needs a reminder that we are in charge here. He can't do whatever he wants. His action is affecting us. If he hurts then we and Wigen will get trouble." She is explaining her reason to him.

 

"Speaking of Wigen. She asks me to thank you for what you did for Somun. She also feels he needs someone to control him and you will be perfect for that role. And mom, I agree with him."

 

"Tell Wigen, we will take care of him. She doesn't need to worry." Mrs. Chu is reassuring him.

 

"I will mom. Bye for now." Then he cuts their connection.

So Mun is walking along side Hana noona and Do Hwi hyung at the mall. He is holding tall ice peach tea on his hand. He is craving something sweet and cold, so Hana noona is buying him it.

 

It's little bit awkward if you think about it. DoHwi hyung clearly doesn't expect him to tag along. He wants it to be a date between him and Hana noona. But noona is so unbothered, she is casually introducing So Mun to him. "This is So Mun. My little brother. So Mun-na, this is Dohwi my friend."

 

"Nice to meet you Hyung." So Mun is bowing to him, and Dohwi is bowing to him back. "Nice to meet you too, So Mun-na."

 

"So Mun-ni needs new clothes so I let him come along with me. I hope you don't mind." Hana noona's explaining his situation at him, and Dohwi hyung say it is totally fine. He is happy that she can accompany him today.

So Mun is slurping his ice peach tea while taking a look his surroundings. It's just mall, but it counts something. He is beginning to feel sick of their home after all.

 

Hana noona and Dohwi hyung are walking side by side in front of him, their hands are sometimes brushing together. Then they will smile sheepishly at each other. So Mun is rolling his eyes at them. So cringe.

 

So Mun wants to leave them alone, but before he can say anything Hana noona is giving him warning look. Her eyes is saying she will kill him if he dares to walk away from her. She is such a kill joy!

 

"DoHwi you said something about present? What you have in mind?" Hana noona is turning to him and asking questions.

 

"It's for one of my student. She won a competition yesterday, so I want to give her something to congratulate her. She is very talented. I am so proud of her."

 

Dohwi hyung is so nice. So Mun can see why noona is so comfortable around him. He is also so soft spoken and polite. He can tell that Dohwi hyung adores her. He looks at her like she is the sun and he is a planet that orbits around her. It's so sweet and little bit patethic, he is so smitten with her.

 

"How about a new clothes?" Hana noona is throwing ideas to him, but he shakes his head. Saying it's not the right one.

 

"How about that doll? It is so cute." Hana noona is pointing a doll on the display window but he once again shakes his head no.

 

It's been hours already but they can't seem to have idea what to get. So Mun is already getting his own clothes, Hana noona buys it for him of course. It's her idea in the first place thus she is paying for it. So Mun is grinning so wide at her side when she pulls her purse and gives him a credit card.

 

Hana noona and Dohwi hyung are walking slightly in front of him, he doesn't want to bother them though. They seems to enjoy each other presences.

 

So Mun is rolling his eyes while watching them. They laugh, they flirt, they nudges each other. It's either they are hopeless at picking present or they are completely forget about it. So Mun suspects they don't really want to end this shopping thing. They are really enjoying their time together.

 

So Mun already finishes his ice tea and throws it away on the trash can near them before deciding he needs to do something about them. It's 5 pm already, he needed to get home at 6 before Mrs. Chu sends rescue team for him.

 

"Hyung, how old is your student?" So Mun is catching their step and stopping to his left. Dohwi turns his head at him, little bit surprised at his sudden question.

 

"She is first grade of Junior High." He is providing him with an information.

 

"Junior high student doesn't like doll anymore Noona. You needs to be creative!" So Mun is then telling his noona.

 

Hana noona is rolling her pretty eyes on him. Dohwi hyung is hiding his smile behind his hand.

 

"Wait let me call the expert of giving present. You guys can sit over there."

 

Hana noona looks at him while raising one of her eyebrow and Dohwi hyung looks confused, but they both is heading towards the bench near the elevator when So Mun is shoving them there.

 

Then, he calls his best friend.

 

"Hi, Ju Yeon-ah. Can I ask something? What is the appropriate present for a junior high school student? No, it's not for birthday. It's congratulations gift."
He is silent for a while while listening to her answer. "She likes piano. What do you think we should give her?"

 

Ju Yeon's then saying something and then So Mun hangs up on her.

 

"Okay, why don't you guys wait here on the the little cafe over there when I buy the present. You guys've been walking for three hours and got nothing."

 

He is complaining to them and they both look at him sheepishly. And then Hana noona's remembering that she can't let him be alone.

 

"Bad idea. Why don't we go together and then we can all see what gift to get." She is standing up and giving him a look, that says don't try anything stupid.

 

So Mun is pouting at her. He is just going to go to the store at the fifth floor. He knows what to get her, it's not like he will go straight to the danger. It's mall for god sake not a war zone.

 

Dohwi hyung watches them with confused look at his face. He is too come forward to stand next to Hana.

 

"I'm just gonna get her a music box. Hyung said she likes playing piano right. I know a place that sell music box with classic song. I am hundred percent sure she's going to love it."

 

"Hana shi, that sounds perfect. She loves classic song, I am sure she will be happy with the gift." Dohwi hyung is smiling at them while thanking So Mun for his idea.

 

"Let's buy it then. Which way So Mun-ah?" Hana noona is taking the lead to the elevator. She is so not leaving him alone. Mrs. Chu won't trust her again if that brat gets hurt while he is with her.

 

After arriving at the store, Dohwi is picking up a piano music box. It's black and white, when you open the hood of the piano it lets out Sonata melody that is so beautiful.

 

He pays the present and asks for the wrap. The shopkeeper is happy to assist him.

 

After he gets the gift, they walk out from the store.

 

"Hana shi, So Mun-ah. Thank you for today. Let's have dinner while we are here. What do you want to eat?"

 

So Mun is looking at Hana noona, ready to nod at her choice. But she looks at him and say, "you can choose. What do you want?"

 

So Mun is smiling at her, he knows she feels bad for him, because he has to follow them around and not actually enjoys his time alone. But, he doesn't mind. He is happy to be with them. In fact, he should be sorry to Dohwi hyung. He is ruining his date.

 

"Can we have fried chicken, please?" He asks Dohwi hyung with his toothy smile. Hyung just smiles at him at nod.

 

"Of course we can have chicken. I now a great place that sell the best chicken here."

 

DoHwi hyung then leads them to the eighth floor, where the court foods are.

 

When they arrive at the shop, So Mun orders the spicy fried chicken, while Hana noona and Dohwi hyung are getting the regular fried chicken.

 

"Thank you for the meal." So Mun is happily munching his chicken. It's so spicy but it's so good.

 

"So Mun-na, are you okay?" Hana noona is asking him question when she sees his face and lips are red because of the spiciness of the chicken.

 

"Hmm. It so good but it is so spicy." He is answering her while drinking his coke. He already ate two pieces of chicken. There are one more on the plate. He doesn't want to waste any good food so he is grabbing the remaining chicken and eats it.

 

"So Mun-ni, your face is so red. It's okay If you can't eat it." DoHwi also concerns about him.

 

So Mun is waving his hand at them, saying he is okay. He can finish the chicken.

 

In the end, he does finish the chicken but his lips and tongue feel like they are on fire. His coke is empty. He is about to get up for refill when Dohwi hyung stops him.

 

"Why don't you just sit here. I will get your refill." He is offering his help when he sees So Mun suffers from the spicy food.

 

"Thank you so much hyung."

 

"Don't worry about it."

 

Then DoHwi hyung is getting up from his seat and walking towards the food stall to have more coke.

 

"Noona, thank you for taking me out today." So Mun is facing her whit a smile on his red lips. Hana noona is nodding and smiling back at him.

 

Dohwi hyung is back with his coke.

 

So Mun is thanking him while he takes it from him.

 

After gulping the said coke, So Mun feels the need to go to the bathroom. "Noona I want to go to the bathroom, please wait for me."

 

"Sure." Hana noona is nodding at him and then process to talk to DoHwi hyung. So Mun is walking away from them in order to find one.

 

He is walking towards the sign that say toilet. But when he is about to enter, he sees there are a lot of people waiting for their turn. Because his bladder is urgently screaming at him at the moment, he then moves away to find another bathroom.

 

He is walking further to the back of the building, hoping to find one but there's none. Fortunately, he does find a worker who is in the middle of mopping the floor.

 

"Excuse me. Do you know where the bathroom is?" He is asking the worker.

 

"It's in the direction you just come." He is pointing at So Mun's back.

"I just get there. There're a lot of people already. Do you know maybe another bathroom that I can use?" So Mun is looking at him sheepishly.

 

The worker then gives him direction to another location. " There's a bathroom on the second floor. You can take the elevator there, it's located next to it."

 

"Thank you so much." So Mun is bowing to him and then sprint towards the elevator. He pushes the button and gets inside.

 

The elevator is kind of old. The buttons are withered. Some of the numbers are missing too. So Mun is looking around when he notices the cctv camera doesn't have blinking light. But, he shrugs its off. The most important thing right now is he needs to go to the bathroom immediately.

 

The number on the door shows it's still on the 4th floor, and then suddenly So Mun feels slight bump inside the elevator. So Mun is getting bad feeling about it, he is groaning when he sees the number on the door stay on the 4th floor. The elevator also stops moving.

 

He is hitting his head on the wall behind him. How unlucky he is, again!

 

He starts to think maybe he is curse. It's like the nth times he gets bad luck.

 

So Mun is trying the emergency button,and speaks to the intercom.

 

"Hello. Please! I am struck here! Can somebody gets me out!" He is waiting for about 5 minutes but no one is responding to him.

 

Holly crab! His bladder is about to explode. He is doubling over and grasping his stomach. It hurts to hold his pee for so long.

 

He is crossing his legs, hopping to press the pressure of his bladder. He takes a really long breath. And then trying again to scream on the intercome.

 

But, still nothing happens.

 

It's been like 5 minutes since he stuck there, but it's like 5 years already.

 

He really needs to go or else he is gonna bursting there. So Mun is moving towards the door. Maybe he can open it from inside. But the thought of letting his stomach goes and uses his strength makes it's harder for him to hold on. So he just shrinks himself into a ball. He really doesn't want having accident here. The humiliation will be too much.

 

Oh, God! Why does he have to drink one tall ice tea and double cokes.

 

He can't hold it anymore, and since the help is not coming anytime soon, he needs to find one himself.

 

He takes a deep breath and calls Wigen.
Shame would be damn. He needs help immediately.

 

"Ajuma! Can you hear me?"

 

"So Mun-na, what's wrong?" Wigen sounds concern.

 

"Ah, nothing. Just can you call Woo Sik for me please. I need him to get me Hana noona."

 

"Woosik? Why?" Now Wigen is confused. Why would he needs Hana for.

 

"Ah, this is so embarrassing. But I kinda stuck in the elevator, and can't get out of my own. So, please can you gets Woosik and asks Hana noona to come and get me." He is burying his head on his kness when he speaks to her. His face is as red as tomatoes. Even though she can't see him but he can help to feel embarrassed.

 

"You what now?" Wigen is asking him disbelief.

 

"Please Wigen. My stomach hurts, I can't hold it any longer. So please please get Woosik now." He is practically begging her now. He can't move even for inch, he is afraid if he moves his bladder will burst.

 

"Wait for a minute So Mun-ah. Hana is coming to you." So Mun is so relieved when he finally hears it.

 

"I am on the fourth floor, riding the elevator at the back at the building. Please tell Noona to hurry." So Mun is so desperate he could cry.

 

"She is coming So Mun-ah!" Wigen's is trying to calm him down. He sounds desperate and hurts. Wigen can feel his fear and ashamed.

 

"So Mun-na! Are you inside!" Hana noona's loud voice is heard from outside the door.

 

"Noona. Please let me out of here!" He is screaming back at her. While banging the door in front of him.

 

"Wait!"

 

So Mun doesn't know what she is doing but he hopes she is doing it fast. He really really can't hold it any longer.

 

So Mun is still doubling down on the floor when he hears a door open. He looks up to see Hana is trying opening the door with her bare hands.

 

"So Mun-na you're okay?" She is calling him from above. Her voice is full of worry.

 

"Noona!" He is so happy to finally see her. The door is not fully open but he then takes a leap and jumps into her arms.

 

"Thank you! Thank you! I don't know what will happen to me if you're not coming!" He is hugging her so tight, but before she can respond, he remembers his almost explode bladder and promptly runs for his dear life into the next bathroom. Thankfully he finds one in the corner and gets inside.

 

He is saved. He is sinking into the wall next to him after he finishes his business. After he is washing his hand and gets out from there. He finds Hana noona is standing there with raised eyebrows and crossed arms around her chest.

 

He is grinning sheepishly at her while holding his hands together in front of her. Feeling small under her stern stare.

 

"Why did Woosik call me urgently saying you were stuck and hurt inside an elevator. You give me a heart attack." Hana noona is not rising her tone at all, but So Mun can tell that she is mad.

 

"Ah,...that... because..... I didn't know the elevator is malfunction. I just really really need to go the the bathroom." He is trying to explain himself. But the more he's talking the more ridiculous he sounds.

 

He is scratching his head and finally bowing down at her. Saying he is sorry for making her worry like that. "I am really sorry Noona. Please don't get mad. And please don't tell Mrs. Chu. It's a honest mistake. I didn't get into trouble on purpose." He is begging her with his famous kicked puppy dog eyes while holding his hand together in front of him.

 

Hana noona is shaking her head. "What should I do with you So Mun-ah!"

 

So Mun is giving her his gummy smile. She knows she is weak for his smile and his puppy dog eyes.

 

"Let's go find DoHwi and then go home. It's almost 7. Mrs. Chu will wait for you." Hana noona is walking away from there while So Mun is following her like a kicked puppy.

 

They meet Dohwi at the entrance of the mall, and say their goodbye.

 

So Mun is bowing at him and says, "hyung, I am sorry for being convenient. I don't mean to ruin your date with Hana noona."

 

Dohwi hyung looks shocked and shy. He is waving his hands no. "You don't ruin anything So Mun-ah. I am so glad you came along. Thanks to you I have the perfect gift for my student. We can meet up again if you want." Dohwi hyung is sure a kind man. He is still smiling at So Mun after So Mun made Hana noona left him to rescue him.

 

"Thank you Hyung. I am enjoying myself today. let's meet again". So Mun is once again bowing at him, after Hanna noona also says her good bye to him, hyung is walking away from them.

 

"Let's go! You have something to explain to Mrs. Chu!" Hana noona is nudging his arm and heading towards their car in the basement.

 

So Mun is groaning, the prospect of telling Mrs. Chu what happened today is making his skin crawl. With heavy steps he is following his noona.

 

Turn out, So Mun doesn't need to explain anything to Mrs. Chu after all. When they get home. She is waiting them with her worry expression on her face with hands crossed on her torso. Hana noona is smirking at his side and then leaving him alone with their healer. What a traitor!

 

Before he can say anything, Mrs. Chu is coming forward to him and puts her arms around him, checking if he has any injury.

 

"So Mun-na, what happened to you? I heard from Suho who heard from Woosik you got hurt. Where is it? Does it hurt somewhere else?" She is bombarding him with questions. Then he is putting his own hands on her shoulder. Trying to calm her down.

 

"I am alright Mrs. Chu. I just had a little accident. But Hana noona is there to save me. Everything is fine now."

 

"Oh, thanks Goodness! I almost come there myself when I heard you hurt."

 

She is cupping his face with her warm hands. So Mun is smiling so wide at her. He is sorry that he worries her but at the same time, he is happy that she cares for him.

 

"I am fine now. Thank you for your concern Mrs. Chu."

 

She is smiling back at him, feeling relieved that the youngest is fine. Then she is putting her arm around his shoulder and guides him inside.

 

"Have you had dinner? I am cooking bulgogi tonight!"

 

"I have with Hana noona and Dohwi hyung."

 

"Really, okay then."

 

The rest of the night is quite like usual, until Mo Tak ajushi is coming home from his workplace. They are gathering together at the dining table for dinner. So Mun who has already eaten is sitting there along with them, he is enjoying dessert that Mrs. Chu made.

 

Hana noona is retelling him what happened today to the rest of his family. About how So Mun was getting stuck at the broken elevator.

 

Mo Tak ajushi is listening to her very carefully and then he is facing him and ask the question. "So Mun-na, you said the cctv camera is broken, how come you can't open it by yourself?"

 

So Mun who is in the middle eating pudding, stopping his spoon movement in the air and looking at him.

 

"Ah.... that is because....." He begins to explain to them when he sees that all of them are staring at him.

 

"I am also curious. Why can't you open it yourself. The elevator is on the back of the building, no one is coming there, nobody will see you." Hana noona is also curious. How come he can't open it.

 

So Mun can feel his face getting hot as they continue to stare at him. He wants to explain but at the same time he doesn't want to. It's too embarrassing. How do you tell you family that you almost peed on your pants while stuck on the elevator. They will laugh at him for eternity. It's all the ice tea's fault. If he didn't drink them all, he wouldn't be in that ridiculous position.

 

"And how come you hurt yourself? Hana, did you see something that can cause injury there?" Mrs. Chu is voicing her thought then.

 

"Not that I knew off. But he did hold his stomach when I saw him."

 

"So Mun-na, is your stomach okay?" Mrs. Chu who is sitting next to him trying to touch his belly. But he gentle swat her hand away.

 

"No! No! I am fine! Can we let it go please." So Mun is begging his family. He is forcing his famous puppy dog eye to them, to make them stop asking questions. He doesn't want to share what happened to them.

 

In the end, they do stop with their questions. Even though Jeok Bong is watching him strangely.

 

"I think I know why." He's suddenly talking.

 

So Mun is turning his head so fast he almost hears it cracks. "Hyung. Nothing is happening. I am fine." He is trying to stop his Hyung to spill his secret.

 

"So Mun-na, your stomach hurt because you're holding the urge to pee, didn't you?" Hyung is throwing the bomb at their table. Everyone is looking at him bewildered. So Mun's face is as hot as the stove. He is sure someone can fries an egg on him.

 

"What?" Ajushi is first one who speaking. Then he laughs a loud while holding his belly.

 

"Ajushi don't laugh. If it's not because the stupid ice tea, I would be able to open the door myself. " So Mun is pouting at him while he is trying to justify himself.

 

Hana noona is shaking her head. She can't believe he is stupid enough to get into trouble.

 

Mrs. Chu is looking at him with wide open mouth, and then she is bursting into laughter herself. Oh My. She doesn't mean to laugh but it is so hilarious.

 

How come he always stuck on unfortunate events when he is alone.

 

So Mun is still sulking while sitting there. Mrs. Chu's then caressing his curly hair. Erasing his pouty lips. She is glad that nothing serious happened to him. It's only silly accident.

 

Mr. Choi who is sitting there can't help but wondering, for someone who is stronger than all of them. So Mun is indeed clumsy. But, Mr. Choi does not mind. It means he still needs them to save him. And he is glad that they can be there for him.

Chapter 6: Chapter Six

Summary:

Something is flying towards So Mun from his side. It happens so fast, So Mun is trying to block his kick to his left arm but he misses. The next thing he knows the man is grabbing his shoulder and throwing him away into the river behind him.

 

First thing he notices is he is surrounded by water. It's so cold, that he can feel it on his bone. He is trying to swim upward. When his head is above the surface, he can see Jeok Bong Hyung's worry face calls him from the bank of the river. So Mun is swimming towards him and hyung is helping him gets out from the frozen water.

It's Sunday afternoon. The day is getting cold, it's almost the end of the year already.

 

Today is lazy day. So Mun is staying on his bed, his laptop is playing some drama that he picked up last time but hasn't have any time to finish it.

 

He is wearing his pajamas pant and has his blanket on him. He doesn't have any plan to move from his comfortable bed today. It's just too cold to be outside.

 

But, then Jeok Bong Hyung is coming inside his room and asking him to come with him. "So Mun-na. Mrs. Chu asks me to buy groceries. Come with me!" Hyung is standing near the bed, making So Mun pauses the drama and turns his head to look at him.

 

"Now? But it's so cold outside. I just want to stay home today." He is pouting at his Hyung. Hoping that he will let him alone. But, today Hyung seems to be immune of his act because hyung is shaking his head and coming closer to his bed. "No! No! It's your turn anyway to buy groceries. Just be glad that I want to go with you. Change your clothes, I will wait for you at the dinning table." After saying all of that, Hyung leaves the bedroom, leaving the very pouting So Mun all alone.

 

So Mun then puts aside his laptop and his blanket. Then he opens his wardrobe and gets the thickest jacket he owns. He changes his pajamas pant into jeans and puts his sneakers on and then gets out from there.

 

He finds Jeok Bong Hyung on the kitchen with Mrs. Chu. Looks like she is giving him a groceries list to buy.

 

"Hyung, I am ready!" So Mun is walking towards his Hyung while shouting at him.

 

Both Jeok Bong and Mrs. Chu are turning their heads at him, then hyung says his good bye to her and approaches So Mun. And then they walks together to the basement. Hyung will drive them to the supermarket.

 

It takes them fifteen minutes to get to the supermarket. Hyung is grabbing the trolly and starts gathering all the things that needed to be bought from Mrs. Chu's list.

 

So Mun is walking besides him while pushing the trolly. And occasionally he puts one or two chocolate inside without Hyung's knowing. So Mun is having sweet tooth. He can't help himself when he sees chocolate or sweet deserts.

 

After finish shopping for the grocery, they both are walking towards the car and loading the groceries into the truck. When they are seated and ready to go, someone is calling So Mun's phone.

 

"Hello!" So Mun is picking up his phone and puts it on his ear.

 

"So Mun-na. Where are you? We step on one." Hana noona's voice is heard from the other line.

 

"We are on our way home. Where's it noona?" So Mun is looking at his hyung and nodding his head to him. Hyung is also looking at him with understanding. Hyung is driving in silent while he listens to So Mun.

 

"Okay, we are heading there. Let's meet there." So Mun then cuts off their conversation. And tells his hyung. "Go to the creek near the jungjin abandoned building hyung."

 

Hyung just nods his head and presses the acceleration harder.

 

They stops at the hill behind the abandoned building. And then they run towards the creek to find the evil spirit.

 

Jeok Bong Hyung is sniffing the air, trying to find him. So Mun is tailing besides him.

 

Suddenly Hyung stops his step and holds his arm out to make So Mun stop too.

 

"So Mun-na. I smell him. This way!" Hyung then guides him to follow him. They are walking around until they reach the river. Where they sees someone is in the middle of throwing a big bad into the river.

 

So Mun is running so fast towards him. He is so close to that man before he kicks him on his side. Making the man falls over and lets go of the bag. After making sure the man is still on the ground, So Mun then pulls the bag that almost drowned in the river.

 

He is successfully pulling the bag to the ground but before he knows it suddenly a hand is grabbing his hair and jerks him backwards, making him to let go of the bag. Then he turns his body to face the man, while throwing punch to his face. The man finally lets go his hair to holds his bleeding nose. Not want to spare the opportunity, so Mun then punches him in the stomach and when he doubles over to clutch his stomach, he is throwing his famous high kick to his head. Making him falls down on his back.

 

The evil spirit is a weak one. Only level two. He is not moving from his place in the ground. Then So Mun turns to the bag near the river. Jeok Bong hyung is by his side.

 

"What do you think it is, So Mun-ah?" Jeok Bong Hyung is looking at him, he looks scare. He has bad feeling about it.

 

"I don't know hyung. What don't we wait for Motak ajushi to take care of it?" So Mun is suggesting an idea to his Hyung.

 

Jeok Bong Hyung nods his head. And then he turns his head to So Mun's back. He is looking for the evil spirit who is laying there.

 

"So Mun-na. He is gone!" Jeok Bong Hyung is shouting so loud when he can't find the man who is supposed to be there.

 

They both then promptly stand on guard. They are paying attention to their surrounding.

 

So Mun is so sure that he knocked down the man before.

 

Damn evil spirit, they recover so fast!

So Mun is clinging to Hyung's jacket, and then Hyung is putting his arms around So Mun's shoulder and hugging him.

 

"Let's get you back. You are freezing!" Hyung then walks them towards where they park the car.

 

So Mun who is noticing the lack of bag and evil spirit can't help to ask him. "Hyung, where is he? Did he get away?"

 

"After he threw you to the river. He grabbed the bag and run away." Hyung is so ashamed that he let that bastard go. But he didn't have time to run after him when he saw the youngest was on the water. His worry is beating down the urge to run after that man. His only priority is to make sure the younger one is safe.

 

"Come on. Let's get you inside the car. I can hear your teeth chattering so loud and you are shaking all over your body. Forget about the evil spirit. We will get him next time." Jeok Bong Hyung is holding him tighter on his arms while they are practically running towards their car.

 

So Mun can't feel his hand, his legs or his toes. Everything is so numb. He almost tumbles over when his foot bumps into a rock. Thankfully Jeok Bong hyung is there to catch him before he falls on his face.

 

"Be careful So Mun-na!"

 

"Sorry Hyung."

 

When they are arriving at their car, Hyung puts So Mun into the back seat. Hyung is taking off his jacket and then puts it aside. And then asking So Mun to takes off his wet clothes.

 

So Mun is getting rid of his jacket and T shirt and then putting Hyung's jacket back on. Well, at least when the wet garment is off he doesn't feel too cold like before. He pulls the zipper up to his chin and then he takes off his wet pants and shoes and socks and throws them away into the seat next to him.

 

So Mun never really like the height different between hyung and him before. Hyung is so freaking tall, it's making him self-conscious about his own height. He is not short at all don't get him wrong, it's just Hyung is too tall. When they are standing next to each other, So Mun's head is only reaches Hyung's shoulder.

 

But now he can help but thanks the height difference between them. Because when he wears Hyung's jacket, it is reaching to his tight and at least it can cover his naked body. It save him on embarrassment because well, you know. He is not wearing anything under his jacket.

 

Hyung never comments on So Mun's condition. He is turning on the heat inside the car. And he is so glad that the younger is not shaking anymore. His face is returning to his original color. He is not trembling anymore.

 

"Let's go home okay. Mrs. Chu can help you with the cold." Jeok Bong Hyung who is sitting on the driver seat then turns on the engine and then he drives them home.

 

So Mun is putting his legs up on the seat and holds them on his arms.

 

He is still cold, but thanks to the jacket and heater of the car, he feels warm now.

 

"Ah, my phone! Is it gone?" So Mun is searching it on his jacket's pocket and finds nothing.

 

Oh Great! Don't tell him he lost it on the river.

 

So Mun is groaning and burying his head on his arms. He can't believe he is so unlucky! What's wrong with him?

 

"Don't worry about your phone So Mun-ah! The most important thing is you're okay!" Jeok Bong Hyung is trying to cheer him up. So Mun can only nod his head to his Hyung. Then he stays silent for the whole ride back.

 

When they arrive at their home. Hyung opens the car door for the youngest and offers his hand for So Mun to take. The younger one is hesitant to gets out from the car and doesn't want to take it. He's suddenly well aware that he doesn't wear anything beneath Hyung's jacket. And he feel his face getting red thinking about that.

 

"So Mun-na? Are you not coming with me?" Hyung is asking him. Confused at the younger one behavior.

 

"Er. I don't want to meet anyone else." So Mun is mumbling the sentences while looking down.

 

"What is it?" Hyung can't hear him so he moves closer to him and puts his hand under So Mun's chin, he is making So Mun faces him.

 

So Mun, with his red face, pouts at him and says, "Hyung I don't want anyone see me like this! It's so embarrassing!"

 

Jeok Bong Hyung is looking at him beliwered. "So Mun-na. It's really okay. Come on. You really need a warm shower and clean clothes. Don't worry about unnecessary things." Hyung is trying to make him out from the car by putting his hand under the younger's armpits and lifts him up from his sitting position and then places him on the ground.

 

So Mun is pouting at him the whole time.

 

Hyung then puts his arms around his shoulder once again and leads him inside the house.

 

Much to So Mun's delight. Nobody is at home when they come inside. He then promptly run towards his bedroom and locks the door. He then taking out his thick sweater and comfortable pants. After changing into much warmer clothes, So Mun then walks towards their kitchen with his soft slippers. He wants soup for his stomach.

 

When he reaches the kitchen, he sees his Hyung is already in front of the stove and cooks him something.

 

So Mun is then dragging a chair and sitting next to kitchen counter. Jeok Bong Hyung who hears the sound of chair turns his head and smiles at So Mun.

 

"Wait a minute So Mun-ah. I will make you chicken soup."

 

"Thank you Hyung."

 

After the soup is finished, Hyung serves it onto a bowl and puts it in front of So Mun.

 

"Eat a lot, So Mun-ah. Chicken soup is good for your body."

 

"Thank you, Hyung."

 

While So Mun is devouring his meal, Hana nonna and Mrs. Chu are coming together from the basement.

 

"So Mun-na! Why we didn't see you at the creek before? Where were you?" Hana noona is sitting next to him and observes him. She notices the youngest is somehow looks sick. His hair is wet, his lips is somehow turning blue and and his fingers are all wrinkly.

 

"What happened to you?" Hana noona is looking at him strangely and then she puts the back of her palm on So Mun's forehead. He is indeed little bit warm.

 

So Mun is gently brushing her hand off from his forehead. "I am okay nonna."

 

"We were at the creek and saw the evil spirits but he got away. It was my fault, I am so sorry." Hyung is explaining the situation before So Mun gets the chance to answer Hana noona.

 

"No! It's not Hyung's fault. It is mine. I was not careful so he got away. Hyung is helping me to get back home." So Mun is shaking his head no at his Hyung.

 

How can he say something like that?
It's clearly his fault for letting the evil spirit knocked him down into the river.

 

"What is going on? What happened to you So Mun-ah?" Mrs. Chu is feeling something off with the youngest too. She is taking his hand and inspecting it. His hand feels little bit cold and his fingers are so crinkle.

 

"We met him Mrs. Chu. And he had this big bag that he wanted to throw into the river, but So Mun-ni was fighting him off. We were so sure he was knocked down when suddenly he grabbed So Mun-ni and threw him into the river. I was so scare something happened to him so I let him go. I am so sorry." Jeok Bong Hyung is telling the whole story to both of the women there. Who listen to him with concern look at their faces.

 

"Are you okay now So Mun-ah? You don't have any other injury?" Mrs. Chu then frets over him. She is grabbing his face and touching his cheek.

 

"I am fine, don't worry Mrs. Chu!"

 

"Well, Jeok Bong.. don't feel bad. You did the right thing. Who knows what will happen to him if you leave him alone at the river." Hana noona is patting Hyung's hand and reassuring him that he did good. Hyung's giving her a shy smile.

 

"Thank you Hana shi."

 

"So Mun-na, are you really okay? You feel a little bit hot. Why don't you take a rest after this." Hana noona then turns her gaze towards the youngest one and suggests he takes a rest.

 

"Okay." So Mun is nodding his head while Mrs. Chu is patting his hands. And then she also says. "I will wake you up for dinner later. Don't forget to turn on your heater on your room okay.

 

"I will Mrs. Chu. Thank you." So Mun is finished his meal and then he gets up from his chair and heads to his room. He feels little bit tired. Maybe a nap will be good for him.

 

The three of them watch as the youngest one is walking away from them. Mrs. Chu is letting a huge sigh from her mouth and turning her head towards Jeok Bong. "Jeok Bong-ah! You are a great Brother. Thank you for always taking care of So Mun."

 

"It's not a big deal Mrs. Chu. I am his big brother of course I will take care of him. But how about the evil spirit? I still feel bad when I remember I let him go." Jeok Bong is putting his sad face when he's facing the women in front of him.

 

"Don't worry about him. We will get him later." Hana shi is answering his question. "You did great Jeok Bong-ah."

 

"Thank you Hana shi."

 

When dinner time arrives and the counter team are sitting together at the dining table, ready to have their dinner, Mrs. Chu is going to So Mun's bedroom and wakes him up. So Mun who is still groggy, wakes with little difficulty. Mrs. Chu then puts her hand on his forehead to check his temperature. Look like he has a little fever.

 

"So Mun-na, do you want to have dinner with us?" She is caressing the youngest's hair while speaking so soft to him.

 

So Mun is opening his eyes and staring at her, "sure, Mrs. Chu. But wait a minute. I think I have a headache."

 

"Poor, boy. Why don't you sleep a little bit longer. I can cook you meal later when you hungry." She is then putting her hand on his forehead. She closes her eyes and So Mun feel the headache is gradually disappeared.

 

"Thank you Mrs. Chu." So Mun is smiling at her when she opens her eyes.

 

"Anytime, my boy!" She then guides him to lay down at the bed one more time. By the time she goes out from his room, So Mun is already on the dream land.

When So Mun is waking up for the second time, he notices the sun is already rising. Jeok Bong Hyung is absent from his bed.

 

So Mun who is feeling so much better after a good night sleep, gets down from his bed and walking towards the bathroom. Yesterday he was not be able to take a shower, now he feels a little bit filthy.

 

After shower he is wearing his other sweater and warm slippers and heading towards the kitchen when he hopes he can find some breakfast. The chicken soup Jeok Bong Hyung made was delicious, but it felt like a long time ago since he has food. So now his stomach is demanding to be feed.

 

"So Mun-na, are you feeling better now?" Mrs. Chu who is in the middle of cleaning the remaining dirty utensils of the dining table is greeting him.

 

"Good morning Mrs. Chu. I am okay now but I am hungry. Can I have breakfast?" So Mun is sheepishly asking her to make him breakfast, but kind Mrs. Chu just smiles at him and asks him to sit.

 

"Don't worry. I have your food here with me." She then walks towards So Mun who is sitting patiently on the chair while holding a vegetable and beef soup. It smells so good.

 

"Thank you for the meal Mrs. Chu." So Mun is happy to receive it and then he starts to eat it.

 

"Eat a lot So Mun-na!"

 

"Where is everyone Mrs. Chu?" So Mun can't help to notice that everyone is indeed gone.

 

"Hana and Jeok Bong is tracking down the evil spirits. Motak is at the station, looking for a missing person at the police database. Mr. Choi is at his office. He has something to do."

 

"Ah, should we go after them Mrs. Chu?"

 

"No need. We already talked last night, Hana said since the evil spirit is level two, she and Jeok Bong can handle him. Motak is suspecting the bag you saw earlier is a body of someone missing. He and his partner are looking for clue. And they suggested that you take a rest today."

 

"But Mrs. Chu, I am totally okay now. No need to worry about me. I can help." So Mun can't believe they left him alone at their home when they're on evil spirit pursue. It's not fair. He is okay. No need to treat him like he is incapable to fight.

 

"So Mun-na! It's okay. I talk to Wigen yesterday, and she agreed that you need take a rest today. Yesterday experience is bad enough, we don't want you to put pressure on your body. Summoning evil spirit is important but recovering from bad experience is more important, understand?" Mrs. Chu is using her stern voice when she tells So Mun what will happen today.

 

So Mun is pouting at her, he wants to protest but her stern look is stopping him for speaking any further. He is quietly eating his food. He doesn't want to be grounded again.

 

For the whole day So Mun is staying at his room. He is resting like he told Mrs. Chu.

So Mun is looking at him and then looking up to the cat in front of him. The tree is quiet tall. He can see why the cat can't jump her way down.

 

So Mun is thinking about the possibility of him climbing the tree himself. He sees some lower branches and decides he can climb up using those.

 

"Don't worry, I will get her down." So Mun is ruffing the kid hair before he steps on the lowest branch and pulls himself up. He is making his way up by reaching up those branches one by one until he reaches the cat.

 

"Hey, kitty. Please don't scratch me up. I am just want to help you!" So Mun is extending his hand towards the cat carefully, she is looking at him with distrust. Then she moves her body to her right and jumps down right in front him. He hangs his jaw open to see the cat is successfully landing on the ground, leaving him alone sitting on the tree.

Chairman Choi is sitting on the dining table while reading the latest newspaper when he sees So Mun is walking to the kitchen to get a glass of water to drink his medicine. The kid is scratching his slightly red nose and once in a while Mr. Choi hears him sneezing into his elbow.

 

"So Mun-na! Come here for a second!" Mr. Choi is putting down the paper and pointing the chair in front of him to So Mun.

 

When So Mun is sitting down at the chair, Mr. Choi is pulling a box from the paper bag next to him and handing it to him.

 

"What's it?" So Mun is taking the gift and looking at the older man with confused eyes.

 

"A gift, I heard you lost your phone. So I bought you one." Mr. Choi is smiling when he sees the kid surprised expression.

 

"You don't have to Mr. Choi. I can buy my own." The kid tries to reject his gift but the older man refuses it.

 

"Nonsense! It's my job to provide you guys with basic nessesity. And you definitely need a phone for communicate with us."

 

"Thank you so much, Mr. Choi. I really appreciate it." The kid is showing his toothy smile at him while carefully opening the box.

 

"You're very welcome."

 

Mr. Choi is chucking when he sees the kid smiles so wide. The kids then throws his famous sparkling eyes to him when he sees his new phone. It's a new release. Of course Mr. Choi will get him the best phone. It has drawing feature inside; he heard from the shopkeeper. He is hundred percent sure the kid will love it. And he does.

 

"This is so Great! Once again thank you so much for getting me this, Mr. Choi!". The kid is radiance with happiness, thant makes Mr. Choi's grinning back at him.

 

"Do you need help to operate your new phone So Mun-ah? I can take you back to the store if you want." Mr. Choi is asking him while watching the kid operate his phone.

 

"No need Mr. Choi. I have all my pictures on my cloud. I can just downloaded it right now." The kid says confidently at him.

 

"Okay, what about the contact number? Don't you have to restore them?" The older man can't help to be curious about it. Sure he has hundred of number on his lost phone.

 

"It's okay. I memorized all your numbers, including Ju Yeon and Ung Min, and grandpa and grandma. The other numbers I can get from my friend again. It's not important." The kid shruggs his shoulder at the older man.

 

Mr. Choi can't believe it. Don't tell him that the kid doesn't have many friends. Is he only hanging out with the counter teams and his two best friends.

 

So Mun is so engrossed into his phone so Mr. Choi decides not to ask him more questions. Maybe he can talk to Mrs. Chu about it. She seems to understand the youngest one better.

 

"Mr. Choi, I will take it to my room, thank you again for the phone." The kid then stands up and bows to him before walking away to his room.

 

Mr. Choi is still on the same spot as before when Hana is walking pass him to get snack from the refrigerator. She is holding a plate and sitting in front of him.

 

Before he knows it, he is speaking up his concern to her. "Hana-ya, do you know that So Mun doesn't have many friends?"

 

His question apparently startled her. She drops the spoon back to the plate and stares at him. "Er. Even though it's not my place to talk about it, but I think it's difficult for So Mun to gets in touch with all his friends while he is with us 24/7." She is speaking very carefully to him.

 

Mr. Choi is taking a long breath, and staring at her back before answering, "I think you're right. It just doesn't make sense for me that the bright kid like him doesn't have many friends. I keep forgetting about the secretly of being a counter. Must be very difficult for him then."

 

Hana noona is letting a small smile and answers him. "It may look like lonely life, but So Mun is having his loving grandparents and us. I am sure he is happy with that."

 

"Well, I hope you're right. It just pains my heart to know that he can get lonely here."

 

"We will make sure he is not." Hana's words is somehow reassuring him. Of course they will make their youngest live a happy life here. He considered them as his family after all. Chairman Choi is smiling at her and nodding his head to her. He is too will trying to protect them all.

 

So Mun is laying on his stomach on his bunk bed while playing with his phone when Hana noona knocks on his door. "So Mun-na, I am going to meet Dohwi, do you want to go with me?"

 

So Mun is looking up from his phone and staring at her. "Sure noona."

 

He then gets up and climbs down from his bed, then he grabs his black jacket. "I am ready!" He smiles at his noona and follows her out from his bedroom.

 

They are walking pass the kitchen where they see Mrs. Chu is sitting on the chair in front of the counter while drinking her tea.

 

"Where are you going?" She is raising her head when she too sees them walking pass her.

 

"We want to meet Dohwi at the park." Hana noona is answering her.

 

"So Mun-na, it is cold outside. Wear your scraff." Mrs. Chu's mother hen is activated when she sees the youngest. He has been complaining of running nose these pass days. He doesn't have any fever or cough, so she assumes he only has a slight cold. Getting out without anything to keep him warm is not good idea. They don't need a needy sicky So Mun. He can be a real brat when he is sick.

 

"Don't worry Mrs. Chu. I got it right here." Hana noona is throwing the knitted brown scraff to So Mun. He is then putting it on his neck. It's so warm. He thanks his noona for the warn garment.

 

Noona is waving her hand at him, "sure. Let's get going. I think Dohwi is waiting for us. Bye Mrs. Chu." They both then walk away from her towards the basement where their car is.

 

Mrs. Chu says her good bye at them while warning them about slippery road and windy weather. The snow is not yet coming but the the weather is below ten degree. They both shout their yeses to her while walking away.

 

Noona is driving while So Mun is sitting next to her. They are driving for about thirty minutes before arriving at the park.

 

When So Mun opens the car's door, the cold is welcoming him by hitting him on his face.

 

He is so glad he is wearing protection on his neck. The weather today is not joking. When he blows his breath, he can see the white smoke comes out from his mouth.

 

"Hana shi! So Mun-na!" DoHwi hyung is waving at them from where he is standing neat the bench.

 

Hana noona is waving back while smiling at him. Then she is walking towards him. So Mun is following her while putting his hands inside the jacket pocket. Hoping for a little bit warm for his frozen fingers.

 

"Hey, it's so cold to be outside now. How about we eat something warm?" DoHwi hyung is asking them when both Hana and So Mun is close enough to him.

 

"Sure. Can we get rice cake and hot noodles, please?" So Mun is looking at his Hyung with his toothy smile.

 

DoHwi hyung is looking at him and laughing when he sees So Mun is buddled up with thick jacket and knitted scarf, "sure. I just know the best place for rice cake. Are you okay with noodle Hana shi?"

 

Noona is nodding at him, and asks him to show them where to go.

 

"This way." Hyung is leading them into one stall near the park. The place not to big, only couples of tables but So Mun can immediately smell the delicious rice cake soup and spiciness of the noodle when they enter the stall. The delicious smell makes he's so hungry.

 

DoHwi hyung is ordering for them while Hana noona and he sit on the corner of the stall.

 

They are enjoying their warm noodles and rice cake happily when the food is ready. DoHwi hyung is ordering soju for them to drink. So Mun is eyeing the drink, contemplating should he drinks one or not. In the end, he does grab one glass. The soju is helping him to warm up his throat.

 

"How old are you So Mun-ah? Are you old enough to drink soju?" Suddenly Dohwi hyung is asking him questions when he saw the younger boy is gulping the soju.

 

So Mun is offering him an ok sign and a smile before answering, "I am twenty already hyung. It's okay for me to drink one."

 

"Ah, okay then." DoHwi hyung is nodding his head to him. Then he turns to Hana noona and pours her more soju when he notices that her glass is empty.

 

"Thank you." Hana noona is sending him a nod and a smile then drinks her drink before returning the favor and pours him one back.

 

So Mun is looking at them with a grin to his face. They both are so cute. He just doesn't understand why his noona doesn't want to do anything about their relationship. They are clearly fancy each other.

 

"Eat your noodles, young man. Don't do anything stupid." Suddenly Hana noona is sending him a death glare. She is watching the youngest's expression and she doesn't like it. It looks like he is thinking something stupid.

 

So Mun is pouting at her before answering, "I am not doing anything stupid. I am eating my delicious rice cake."

 

DoHwi hyung who is watching their barter can't help but letting out a chuckle at them. Hana shi and So Mun-ah are so cute together. Hana really acts like an older sister. He can tell that they both are close.

 

Last time when they were at the mall and So Mun was trapping inside the malfunction elevator, Hana looked so scare and ready to sprint to find him. He never saw her being emotional like that before. It's kinda cute to see her care for her younger brother.

 

DoHwi is ordering more soju for them and they are drinking their alcohol while finishing their food.

 

DoHwi hyung and Hana noona are drinking their fifth bottle of soju, while So Mun has his third bottle. His stomach is so full of noodle and rice cake. And he is so warm because of the soju, so he takes off his scraff, suddenly feeling too hot inside the stall.

 

After they finish eating, Dohwi hyung insist to pay for their meal, in which Hana noona is protesting at him. She can pay both of her and So Mun's meal. He doesn't have to do that. But DoHwi hyung beats her off at the clerk and pays before she can. He is grinning at her while the clerk is prossessing their payment while Hana noona stands next to him while giving him disappointed look. So Mun is just rolling his eyes at them from their table.

 

DoHwi hyung and Hana noona look like they have a sweet moment together, So Mun decides that he will take a walk for a minute and leave them alone for a while. Beside it's a second time he disrupt their date. He doesn't want to be a party pooper. So he wants to give them alone time here.

 

Without a sound, he grabs his scraff and walks out from the food stall. Then he puts the scarf back to his neck once he is outside.

 

He feels a little bit dizzy and hot on his face. Look like he is slightly drunk. Maybe a walk can help him sobber up.

 

Neither Hana noona and Dohwi hyung notice his gone. They are too engrossed in each other. Which is a good thing. So Mun is continuing his walk toward the park. He will text her later if she remembers to contact him.

 

So Mun is taking a deep breath, as he is strolling on the path there. The sun is still up, but not a lot of people play in the park. Maybe it's too cold for them too.

 

He takes a look at his surroundings, the wind is making all the trees over there moves like there is a music that only they can hear. So Mun is smiling to himself while he is watching their movement. He can't help but mesmerizing at them.

 

Suddenly, from his left side, he hears a cry for help from a young boy. He turns his head to find who is it.

 

He follows the sound and finds a very distresses boy who looks up to the tree. He is calling someone or something there.

 

"Hey, kitty! Kitty! Let get down here please. It's not safe to be up there." The boy is putting his hand over his mouth and yelling at the cat who is perched on the one of the branch there.

 

So Mun is standing next to the boy and he asks him, "is she yours?"

So Mun wants to get down. But when he looks down he realizes that he is quite far from the ground. The far distance between him and the ground is making him dizzy. The wind which blows so strong at the tree doesn't help his case either.

 

The tree is moving, making his body trembling too. He is grabbing the branch below him with all his strength. Fear is creeping inside his head. Oh no, he is going to fall!

 

So Mun can't help but shutting his eyes so tight. But, without his vision, he can feels the movement of the tree, it's like he is on the boat in the middle of the Strom. He is so dizzy, and his stomach is also acting up. He wants to throw up.

 

Closing his eyes seems lika bad idea, so he opens them up. He is so hopeless perched on the tree like a bird.

 

He doesn't know how long he has been on the tree. He is too scare to reach out his phone on his jacket pocket. He is clinging to the branch for his dear life.

 

Unfortunately, there is not single person walks by near him. Making it's impossible for him to call for help.

 

So Mun feels like crying, his head hurts, his stomach hurts. Even his arms hurt for holding for too long.

 

So Mun is putting his head on the shaft below him. Hoping it can help with the dizziness. He is also shutting his eyes one more time, maybe he can take a rest there until Hana noona finds him.

 

He remembers one time, when he was six years old. He tried to climb a tree in front of his house. With little difficulty he did climb it, he was so proud of himself. But then when he wanted to get down, he felt scare because he was never been that high from the ground before. His excitement was leaving him. And fear was creeping up to his heart. Then he did the only thing his head told him to do. He was crying for his dad. His crying was loud enough that dad heard it and came to find him.

 

His dad was laughing at him from the foot of the tree when he saw So Mun was stuck there. Watching his dad laughed only made him cried harder. But in the end, his dad was reaching out his hand and catched So Mun on his embrace. So Mun was clutching his dad so tight he didn't want to let go. Dad was caressing his back while murmuring reassuring sentence that he was safe. Dad wouldn't let anything happen to him.

 

The memory hits him like a brick, he misses his dad so much. He hopes at time like this his dad is here to safe him. He doesn't want to cry, but So Mun feels like he was 6 again. To scare of his surroundings and needs his dad to help him down.

 

"So Mun-na. Want are you doing up there?" Someone is calling him from the bottom of the tree.

 

So Mun opens his eyes and sees Hana noona and Dohwi hyung below him. Their worries are clearly display on their faces.

 

"Noona, I was rescuing a stray cat, but the she left me here alone. She is so bad, and a traitor. Why is she leaving me? Why can't she wait for me. I want to go with her too." So Mun is talking nonsense, he knows. But it's like he can't control his mind. He feels hot all over his body. He is also feeling drowsiness and his eyes feel heavy. He is losing coordinate of his arm too. Suddenly everything is to loud to him but at the same time everything is too far away, like he is inside of the bubble. He can hear everything, but it's being mumbled.

 

He is trying to lift his head and move his body, he is trying to tell his noona the direction of that traitor cat so that she can find her.

 

But the next thing he knows, he is being knocked down by a strong wind that hits the tree like a tornado.

 

The last thing he notices is noona scare's face and her loud scream as he topless down from above.

 

Hana is screaming out loud when she sees So Mun is falling over from above, unconsciously she is moving so fast and luckily being able to catch his body on her arm before he can hit the ground.

 

They both fall into the ground, Hana can maintain her grip on So Mun's head while both of them rolling on the ground.

 

"Hana shi, you're okay?" DoHwi is by her side and helping her immediately. He can't believe on what he just saw. Did Hana really catch the falling So Mun from the tree?

 

Hana has So Mun's head still on her arm. The kid looks bad. His face is all red. His breathing is short and he has problem breathing normally. His heart beats so fast she can feel it under her palm.

 

"Hey, So Mun-ah! Wake up!" She is shaking him while trying to make him response to her. Which is useless because he is losing his consciousness.

 

"Hana shi. Maybe it's better if we go to hospital. So Mun-ni looks sick." DoHwi is putting his hand on Hana's shoulder. Making she lifts her head and stares at him.

 

"Okay, let's do that." Hana needs to be calm right now. So Mun needs her so she has to be rational and help him.

 

Hana then lifts So Mun's head from his shoulder and attempts to carry him on her back, but before she can do that, Dohwi is kneeling in front of her, he is taking both of So Mun's arm and putting around his own shoulders.

 

"I can carry him, let's go Hana shi." After making sure So Mun is secure on his back, Dohwi is standing up and waiting for her to follow his step.

 

Hana is shaking her head, and standing up herself. Focus Hana! So Mun needs you.

 

"Let's go!" She says while putting her own hand on So Mun's back. She just wants to make sure he is safe.

 

DoHwi is smiling at her and then they both is walking towards the car at the parking lot.

 

Hana opens the backseat door and Dohwi lets go of So Mun and lay him down on the seat. Hana is throwing the car key at him and then climbs up to the seat next to So Mun.

 

After she is sitting comfortable on her seat, she's then taking So Mun's arm and lifting him up, she is putting his head back on her shoulder. She just wants to feel him close.

 

DoHwi who is sitting in the driver seat, staring at her from the rear-view-mirror and can't help to smile. Hana is so cute like that, she is clearly care deeply for her brother.

 

He drives slowly to the hospital, when they gets there he is asking for a stretcher for the unconscious So Mun.

 

The nurses work so fast, they put So Mun on the stretcher and bring him inside intensive care.

 

Hana and Dohwi are sitting in the chair in front of one and waiting for the good news.

 

"Hana shi, don't worry. So Mun is going to be okay." DoHwi is patting her arm, he wants to calm her down. She was so agitated before. He knows she is afraid something bad happened, but he is sure the doctor can help him.

 

"Thank you Dohwi. But, do you think it's just because of the soju?" Hana can't help but curious about the youngest's condition.

 

"What do you mean?" DoHwi is looking at her while asking question back.

 

"I mean he was delirious, he had trouble breathing and he was fainting. He only had three bottles of soju. I didn't think he was that drunk." Hana is explaining he concert to him while staring at him.

 

"I don't know Hana shi. But I am sure he will be okay."

 

"Thank you Dohwi for being here with me." Hana is giving him a small smile for his efforts to calm her down.

 

"Anytime, Hana shi."

 

The door of insentif care unit is opened by the doctor. Hana is immediately standing up and coming closer to him.

 

"How is he, doctor?" She is asking him about So Mun's condition.

 

"He is still unconscious, but I have to ask what did he drink before?" The doctor is facing Hana and Dohwi who look confused at him.

 

"He had three bottles of soju. Isn't he just drunk, doctor?" Hana is answering him while sharing a concern look with Dohwi who has the same expression.

 

"Only Soju? Do you know what else he consumed?" The doctor is asking more questions to them, which they can't answer. Hana doesn't know what did he eat or drink before.

 

"I am sorry doctor, but I really don't know. Is he gonna be okay?" She is very worry about So Mun.

 

"Thee nurse will be emptying his stomach after he regains his consciousness. We will know what's going on after that. Please sit down and wait for the results." The doctor then walks away from them, he are needed in the other emergency room.

 

Hana and Dohwi are looking at each other. Is it that bad?

So Mun was drinking the cold medicine before they went to have lunch with Dohwi.

 

Hana is cursing under her breath when the nurse is telling them what happened with So Mun.

 

Consumer alcohol after drinking cold medicine is bad, the nurse says

 

It can cause dizziness, drowsiness, impaired coordination, and difficulty of breathing. It can also increase the risk of liver failure. The patient needs to be careful of his choice of drink. The nurse then advices her to monitor him for the next day. To see if he still has the symptoms.

 

Hana nods her head to the nurse and promises she will take care of him.

 

"Can we see him?" She is asking her permission to visit So Mun. In which the nurse tells her that he is at the room number 3. He is awake now, they can visit him.

 

"Thank you, nurse." DoHwi is taking Hana's hand and guides her towards the room she mentioned before.

 

Hana may look relief, but he notices she is still trying to wrap her head together at the fact that So Mun's condition is so bad that he might get liver failed.

 

Kids these day! They never pay attention to the details!

 

DoHwi is opening the door and letting Hana to get inside first.

 

So Mun is laying there wearing hospital gown and an IV fluids on his left arm. He awake but still looking kinda drowsy.

 

"Hey, brat. Are you okay?" Hana is sitting on the chair next to his bed and then carefully caressing his curly hair.

 

So Mun is looking at her and trying to smile. "I am okay. I am sorry I made you worry." The kid looks at her with his sparkling eyes and pouty lips. Making Hana chuckles at him. How can she get mad is he looking so adorable like that.

 

"It's okay. Let it be your lesson brat. Never consume alcohol after you drink your medicine. Understood?" Hana is warning him while brushing stray hair that falls on his eye.

 

So Mun is nodding his head at her.

 

He did learn his lesson. Getting inside of your tummy pumped was not a great experience. He never wants to do that again!

 

"Ah, Dohwi hyung. I am really sorry. I always ruin your date with Hana noona!" So Mun who is suddenly seeing Dohwi hyung standing behind his noona, can't help to apologize.

 

DoHwi is shaking his head no, when he sees the younger one giving him a sad puppy dog eyes. He is just glad that the younger is fine. "It's okay, So Mun-ah. I am enjoying myself today. But please, restraint yourself on getting hurt. I think you gave her enough scare of her life."

 

So Mun then stares at his noona and grasps his hand. "Noona I am sorry, and thank you for always getting me out from trouble."

 

Hana is grasping his hand back, and smiles at him. "It's okay. I am just glad you're safe."

 

The nurse comes to check on So Mun's condition. After the IV fluids is empty, and she is making sure that he is no longer dizzy, and his heart beat is normal, she is telling him that he can go home.

 

So Mun is so happy to get home but at the same time he is dreadful when he meets Mrs. Chu. What will he say to her.

 

Oh no, if she knows what he did, she will ground him until he is thirty.

 

While So Mun is having a horrible conversation inside his head, Hana noona is laughing next to him.

 

How dare she!

 

So Mun is giving her an offensive side-eyes.

 

Hana noona is rolling her pretty eyes to him and says. "Let's go home. Mrs. Chu and Chairman Choi are waiting for you."

 

"Did you call them? did you tell them what's happening to me?" So Mun is panicking now. Did they know how stupid he was?

 

"I did call them. You are in hospital. Of course I have to inform them." Hana nonna has the audacity to smile at him.

 

"Why noona? Mrs. Chu is going to be mad at me." So Mun is crying out loud at his noona. How can she do this to him?

 

"Relax, I already explained it them, and I asked them to be lenient to you." Hana noona then grabbing his jacket and scraff on the table and gives them to him. "Come on, we will wait outside. Change your clothes and then we go home." Hana noona then turns her body towards DoHwi hyung who standing there with the smile on his face too, leaving a very pouting So Mun there to change.

 

Hana noona is driving this time. DoHwi hyung is sitting next to her, while So Mun is occupying the back seat.

 

They drops hyung at his place first before going back home.

 

Once again So Mun is expressing his gratitude and sorry to Hyung, while Dohwi hyung says it's really okay. Then Hyung is saying goodbye to Hana noona. They are exchanging sweet smile before Noona hits the acceleration and drives home.

 

When they are arriving at their home, Mrs. Chu and Chairman Choi are waiting for them in the dinning table.

 

So Mun is shrinking to himself when he sees Mrs. Chu stern face. But much to his surprised, she is gathering him on her arm when he is close enough.

 

"Please, don't get hurt again So Mun-ah. My old heart can't handle it." She is whispering into his ear while caressing his back.

 

So Mun who is feeling very guilty only can hugs her harder. "I am really sorry. I didn't think straight and didn't know any better."

 

"It's okay, you're okay now. It's the most important thing." She doesn't want to let him go and neither he. Until Mr. Choi is clearing his throat next to them. So Mun is reluctant to let her go, but he knows he needs to face him too.

 

"Honestly, I don't know what to say to you, young man. But I am glad you're okay. Please don't do that again." Mr. Choi is giving him sad eyes. So Mun can't get word out from his mouth. His throat feel so closed, his face is getting hotter and he is having trouble breathing. He is so overwhelmed with how much his makeshift family loves him.

 

"I am sorry." So Mun can't control his emotions, his tears are falling down on his cheeks. He is looking down, suddenly feeling ashamed of his own emotion.

 

Then a smooth hand is lifting his chin up, and once again Mrs. Chu is welcoming him on her warm embrace.

 

"It's okay, So Mun-ah! Don't cry!" Her soft voice is so familiar like his father's. It makes him cry harder on her arm. Then he feels another hand's caressing his head.

 

"Come on, I think you need more rest. All this event is stressing you out." Hana noona who is standing behind him silently, is slowly pulling him away from Mrs. Chu.

 

Mrs. Chu is letting him go while erasing the remaining tears on his cheeks.

 

This so embarrassing, maybe he is still drunk, because he feels so emotional right now. A good night sleep may good for him.

 

He is following Hana noona who is grasping his wrist gently on her grip. She is guiding him back towards his bedroom.

 

After taking off his scraff and jacket, he then climbs into his bunk bed and ready to lay down.

 

But before Hana noona can gets out from his room, he is calling her and telling her how much he is sorry and thanking her for always being there for him.

 

Hana noona is giving him smile and say, "I will always be there for you So Mun-ah. We are family after all." Then she opens his door and gets out from there.

 

So Mun is smiling too after hearing her reassuring word. Then he puts his head down the pillow and travels into a dream land.
