Work Text:
Jungkook has always been a hopeless romantic. Even though he didn’t think that love at first sight or hearing a bell when you meet the one meant for you exists outside of fiction, he couldn’t help but dream of it all the same. He had crushes here and there, even had a moment when he believed he was actually in love, but none of it prepared him for when he saw that one guy around campus one day.
Nothing special happened. Jungkook’s eyes were scanning the area, listening to music, when his eyes landed on the dark-haired guy. He was laughing, eyes closed and head thrown back. There had been so much joy and life on his face, that the song Jungkook was listening to suddenly sounded better and the sun seemed to have gotten brighter too.
Jungkook had seen the guy around a couple of times the next few days too but he never talked to him, too awkward to know how to start a conversation with a stranger. Jungkook had decided to focus on his next project instead. He really needed to be done. He’d see what to do about the cute guy afterwards.
That same night, he was sitting alone at the bar and thinking about what to do with this song he was stuck on, intent on finishing it without any help from Namjoon, when the guy slipped into the booth next to him and talked to him. It had taken Jungkook half a minute to process that, yes, the guy in front of him was the cute guy he was seeing around campus and yes, the guy was indeed talking to him. He had gaped at him a little, had seen his plump lips move but not heard a single thing. The guy had to shake Jungkook for him to finally move.
The cute guy’s name was Jimin and apparently some guy was bothering him. Upon seeing Jungkook sitting alone, Jimin had thought of pretending to be Jungkook’s boyfriend to get rid of the guy. Jungkook had agreed immediately, never as happy as in that moment about being somewhat of a loner. His vow to focus on his project was forgotten, and that night he left thoroughly flustered by Jimin’s shamelessness and with his phone number. Jungkook spoke a quick prayer to the sky when he went to bed that night.
The next day, for a moment, Jungkook had been worried. What if Jimin decided he didn’t want to see Jungkook again, but he actually responded to Jungkook’s text and even waved at him when he saw him on campus. Jungkook immediately told his mentor and friend Namjoon about it all. He didn’t mention a name but he gushed about Jimin for hours. If there was anyone who could give him solid advice, it was his senior who had become a close friend over the past years. They had met online three years ago and Namjoon may have played a big role in why Jungkook chose to attend this university a year ago but as long as he did what he loved, which was music and art, he didn’t care.
Jungkook was no stranger to heartbreak. He experienced it in the past, may it be from unrequited feelings or a break-up, but he found out for the first time in his short twenty years of life what real heartbreak is when he found out that Jimin is Namjoon’s brother. Jimin had been no less taken aback.
Namjoon had talked about Jimin a lot but Jungkook never got to meet him because he was doing a year abroad when Jungkook started university. Naturally, they acted as if they didn’t know each other and were meeting for the first time and Jungkook never brought up the flirting again. He knew there was only one rule with Namjoon: do not hit on his brother.
And Jungkook intended on staying loyal to Namjoon. He would never do that to his friend and mentor, respected him and cherished their bond way too much. Namjoon had done so much for him; had taken Jungkook under his wing, had taught him everything he knew and introduced him to so many cool people and like-minded people, whom he would’ve never been able to talk to were it not for Namjoon.
But Jimin was so pretty and they spent too much time together now that Jimin had moved in with Namjoon. Jimin was pretty and willing, and one drunken mistake led to another and another, and now here they are, lips locked and limbs entangled with each others’ on Jimin’s bed. It isn’t unusual for Jungkook to be over while Namjoon is out. They’ve grown close over the past weeks and Namjoon trusts Jungkook, which makes Jungkook’s stomach twist with guilt but it’s so easy to ignore when he looks at Jimin and the butterflies start up again. It’s even much easier to ignore when he’s balls-deep inside Jimin and his pants are drowned out by Jimin’s moans.
“Jungkook-ah,” Jimin moans, his arms around Jungkook’s neck tightening.
Jungkook wants to drag the moment out, Jimin clenching around him so beautifully, but Namjoon could walk in on them any moment, and he still needs to take a quick shower before he does so. So he fastens his pace, knowing Jimin is close. A few more thrusts and Jimin is pressing a hand to his mouth to silence his screams while Jungkook releases into the condom. He rides out his high with slow and careful thrusts, and slumps down on Jimin afterwards.
Jungkook takes a minute to collect himself and then raises himself up on his arms, staring into Jimin’s eyes. Jimin is a mess. His hair is wet and sticking to his forehead and he has come all over himself. His cheeks are rosy and lips swollen from how much Jungkook has sucked them. Guilt washes over Jungkook again but he pushes it aside as soon as Jimin smiles at him shyly.
Jungkook would do anything for this smile, even betray Namjoon.
He leans down to softly peck Jimin’s lips and asks, “You okay?”
Jimin pushes the strands of Jungkook’s hair out of his face and nods. “You should take a shower. Namjoon hyung will be back soon.”
Jungkook sighs. He’d much rather stay in bed and cuddle Jimin but it’s not an option right now. So he pecks Jimin again and slowly pulls out of Jimin.
It has been three months now that they started sneaking around and Jungkook couldn’t be any happier. They have thought of telling Namjoon many times but both of them know it won’t end well, so they used any excuse they could find to postpone it. First it was that they weren’t serious enough to tell anyone. Then it was Jimin’s project that needed to be done. Lastly, it was finals. Right now, it’s their last week before summer break but neither of them have made any plans of informing Namjoon.
Jungkook barely makes it onto the couch in the living room with dried hair and clothes thrown on before Namjoon opens the door, humming some melody.
“Hey,” Namjoon greets Jungkook with a wide smile.
Jungkook gulps, his stomach churning uncomfortably. “Hey. How was your day?”
“It was fine but I’m starving. Wanted to buy something on the way but thought we should order in instead.”
“I actually made something. It’s in the kitchen.”
Namjoon rushes into the kitchen, yelling into the living room, “You’re the best!”
Jungkook sighs and mumbles to himself, “Yeah. The best.”
The door of the bathroom opens and Jimin walks out. Jungkook looks up when he hears the noise, immediately smiling when he sees the smile on Jimin’s face.
---
Dates are tricky for Jimin and Jungkook. They can easily go to certain places without having to fear that Namjoon might catch them. There’s Jungkook’s apartment, some restaurants and cafes, and the cinema. It gets a bit trickier to hide it from all their acquaintances. The amount of times they have met their friends or Namjoon’s friends on their dates isn’t small. That is why even after going to a restaurant the previous night, they couldn’t hold hands on the walk they took in a nearby park.
Jungkook sighs silently and turns his eyes back to the board. He spent more than half of his classes in this state, barely present and having to ask fellow students for their notes. Jungkook isn’t the most diligent in taking notes but today has been subpar even for him. He is about to ditch lunch break and his last class, and take a miserable nap at home when he’s jumped from the side.
“Boo!”
Taken aback, Jungkook stumbles and turns to face the person who’s still clinging to him. Jimin is smiling at him mischievously from his side, a bright smile on his lips. Jungkook would love to lean down and kiss him, as he should as Jimin’s boyfriend, but they’re on campus and there are people everywhere.
“Did I scare you?” he whispers.
Jungkook chuckles. “You know I’m not easy to scare.”
Pouting, Jimin removes his arms from around Jungkook. “I know, but you looked like you were deep in thought so I was willing to take my chances.”
Joining Jimin’s side, Jungkook lets his fingers brush against Jimin’s softly and leans in a little. “Hyung, you should stop pouting or I’m choosing a horror movie during the next movie night.”
Jimin gasps appalled and swats Jungkook’s chest. “You wouldn’t dare.”
Jungkook laughs. It wasn’t his plan to choose one but now he wants to do it just to see Jimin squirm. “Maybe,” he teases.
Jimin scoffs, opens his mouth as if to scold Jungkook but makes a disapproving sound instead and rushes off in the opposite direction of the cafeteria. Jungkook runs after him and grabs his wrist with one hand.
“Hyung,” he says in a pleading voice. “Don’t be mad.”
“I’m not mad. Why would I be mad?” Jimin asks, still rushing off.
“I was just joking. Come on. Where are you going?”
“What’s it to you?”
Jungkook takes the fact that Jimin hasn’t pushed his hand off as a sign that Jimin wants him to follow and beg a little more, so he follows. He has no idea where Jimin is going but they’ve left the main part of the campus behind and there are barely any students where they are right now. Making sure that no one is around, Jungkook pulls Jimin into a narrow space between two buildings. Jimin blinks up at Jungkook, surprise written all over his face. Jungkook gives him one mischievous smirk before he leans down and presses his lips against Jimin’s.
Jungkook sighs into Jimin’s mouth, the stress from the morning melting away as Jimin’s tongue darts into his mouth. They had seen each other just the day before but it was spent outside with their friends. They hadn’t had a single moment to themselves. It had been torture; not being able to touch Jimin even though he was so close, to have to suppress the urge to reach out and have to watch Jimin interact more with everyone else because he didn’t want to raise any suspicion.
Jungkook only wanted to kiss Jimin for a moment to make up for the previous day but the way Jimin wraps his arms around Jungkook’s shoulders and presses himself against him has Jungkook wanting more. Jimin wants him. No one else. Not one boy or girl who was throwing themselves at him yesterday but him: Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook moans and puts his hands on Jimin’s ass, squeezing the flesh. Jimin gasps and breaks the kiss to throw his backpack onto the ground, Jungkook following suit. Their lips reattach hungrily, hands messing their hair, panting into each other's mouth. Jungkook leans down to hook one of Jimin’s knees under his elbow and presses his crotch into Jimin’s. Jimin moans loudly.
“Jungkook-ah,” he moans again. “I want to blow you.”
Jungkook’s hips stop their slow, circular motions and he gapes at Jimin. He looks to his right, the opening of the small space they’re in. Anyone could walk by any second. They could be seen by anyone, even a professor. Weirdly enough, Jungkook didn’t really mind people seeing Jimin having his mouth on Jungkook’s cock.
“Here?” he asks, just to make sure Jimin knows what he’s asking.
“Jungkook-ah,” Jimin whispers and leans in closer, their lips almost touching, “I would let you rip my clothes off and have your way with me right here.”
Jungkook groans, hips pressing deeper into Jimin. Jimin’s head falls forward and he moans again, pushing against Jungkook’s crotch.
Dropping Jimin’s knee, Jungkook starts unbuckling his belt. “Then you better get to it.”
Jimin wastes no time, dropping to his knees in front of Jungkook and pushing his hands away so he can unbutton his jeans. Jungkook’s cock springs free from his boxers and Jimin licks his lips, eyes glazing over. He wastes no time in grabbing Jungkook’s cock with one hand. Jimin gives the tip a kittenish lick and then swallows it whole in take. Jungkook grunts once Jimin’s warm mouth envelopes him. He puts his hands on the wall behind Jimin’s back to support himself, his gut coiling in pleasure as Jimin’s tongue circles his cock.
Jimin bops his head expertly, using his hand to cover the base of Jungkook’s cock that his mouth can’t reach. Jungkook watches Jimin go down on him like he has done countless times in the past, usually in the privacy of their rooms, never this openly. He doesn’t know what has come over either of them. Maybe it was the fact that they’re both tired from hiding their relationship but it feels great either way.
“Fuck, I’m close,” Jungkook moans when he can feel his orgasm build.
That motivates Jimin more and he fastens his pace, choking when Jungkook’s tip hits the back of his throat. Jungkook would love to pull out and come all over Jimin’s face but they can’t afford a mess like that considering where they are. So he waits for Jimin to keep sucking him until his orgasm washes over him and Jimin catches it all in his mouth, swallowing it obediently.
Jungkook stands there for a moment motionlessly, head resting against the wall. Jimin kisses the tip of Jungkook’s cock, and pulls his boxers and jeans back up. Jungkook only pulls back when Jimin stands up and starts unbuttoning Jimin’s pants with quick movement. Jimin is still and pliant, moaning when Jungkook puts his hands in Jimin’s boxers and squeezes his cheeks. Jungkook would love to take his time but if he wants to get Jimin off, then he has to be fast. His hand reaches between Jimin’s cheeks and his finders are met with something hard: a plug.
Jungkook pulls back to look at Jimin who is avoiding his gaze. “Has this been in all morning?” he asks.
“Was thinking about you all the time,” Jimin confesses shyly.
Jungkook is always amazed by how shameless Jimin can be in some situations but shy in others. He grabs the end of the plug with three fingers and pulls on it lightly. Jimin gasps, biting down on his lower lip. Jungkook leaves the plug be, not having lube to finger Jimin anyway, and reaches into the front of Jimin's pants. Jimin sighs and leans his head against the wall, finally having some relief. As Jungkook glides his hand up and down Jimin's cock, he watches him closely, watches his blissed out face and kisses him.
“Come over tonight,” Jungkook says after pulling back, slowing his hand.
Jimin looks up at him in frustration and regret. “Can’t. Hyung wants to watch a movie.”
Jungkook leans forward until they’re both breathing the same air. He makes sure Jimin is looking directly into his eyes and squeezes his cock. “I wasn’t asking, Jimin.”
Jimin whimpers, eyes closing for a moment until Jungkook relents and starts his slow movements again. He opens them again a moment later, the glazed look from before back in his eyes and nods timidly, obediently. Jungkook smiles and fastens his pace, making sure to swallow all of Jimin’s moans and whimpers as he kisses him. It doesn’t take long for Jimin to come and Jungkook catches it all in his hand, spreads it all over Jimin’s cock as it twitches weakly in his hand.
“Look at what a mess you made,” Jungkook says, watching his hand still move up and down Jimin’s cock.
Jimin hisses, oversensitivity settling in. Jungkook lets go of him and looks for tissues in his backpack, which is quite hard one-handed. He gives Jimin one and uses another to clean his hand. He’ll have to go to wash it later. Once done, he puts both tissues in his pocket to throw it in the trash later.
Jungkook cups Jimin’s cheek with his clean hand and kisses him softly, lets Jimin decide the pace and length of their kiss. Their lips are swollen and red by the end of it but Jungkook doesn’t mind that he missed lunch and will have to sit in his class fucked out.
“Shall we?” Jungkook asks once Jimin pulls back and Jungkook reciprocates his satisfied smile.
Jimin nods and follows Jungkook out, both trying to act nonchalant. They separate ways, and Jungkook spends his last class daydreaming about all the positions he’d be fucking Jimin in later that night.
---
Jungkook has been restless lately. Not because he’s feeling guilty about fucking Namjoon’s brother - he still is - but because it feels like Namjoon is catching onto them, and it doesn’t help that he has been having a fight with Jimin since yesterday. They had gone out to a karaoke bar the other as a large group consisting of Namjoon and Jungkook’s, and Jimin’s friends. This one girl, a friend of a friend, had tagged along and basically stuck herself to Jungkook’s side.
Everyone knows Jungkook is uncomfortable with strangers, especially ones as pushy as this girl, but nothing deterred her. She was a senior, and as much as Jungkook would’ve loved to push her hands away and sit on the other side of the table passive aggressively, he couldn’t be this rude.
Jimin hadn’t appreciated any of it.
Jungkook gets it. He does. He would’ve been just as jealous if someone had hit on his boyfriend in front of him like this and been unable to step in but he doesn’t understand why Jimin is blaming him. Jimin saw everything that Jungkook did to avoid the girl, never flirted back, and threw her phone number, that she had slipped into his jacket not so discreetly, away in front of everyone once they had parted ways. Jungkook called Jimin for hours that night but he never once picked up his call.
Now Jungkook is over at Namjoon’s apartment again, hoping he would meet Jimin there but to no avail.
“Okay, what’s wrong with you?”
Jungkook turns to Namjoon and blinks at him. He had been staring at the front door, thinking about Jimin walking in and hoping he could call it into existence.
“Nothing,” Jungkook says after a moment of silence.
Namjoon puts his laptop on the coffee table and faces Jungkook. “Something has been off with you, and Jiminie too. Did you fight?”
“No.”
“Jungkook-ah, you can tell me if you did. Just because Jimin is my brother doesn’t mean that I am going to be biased in this. You’re one of my best friends.”
Jungkook looks away from Namjoon, feeling like he has been punched in the gut. Here Namjoon is, worried about Jungkook and Jimin while they’re both betraying him and his trust. This could be it, Jungkook thinks. He can tell Namjoon everything. He doesn’t know how Namjoon will react but he doesn’t deserve this. Jungkook owes Namjoon the truth, and he does want to tell him but he can’t go behind Jimin’s back like this and tell Namjoon without discussing it with Namjoon.
So Jungkook inhales deeply and looks at Namjoon again. “Hyung, don’t worry. It’s nothing serious.”
Namjoon holds eye-contact with Jungkook for a while, some undecipherable swimming in his, but nods in the end.
“You can tell me anything, you know?” Namjoon asks.
With a heavy heart, Jungkook nods. “I know.”
---
Jungkook feels like he’s going crazy. It has been three days since Jimin talked to him, and now that they are on summer break, he can’t even try and find him at university. And it’s not like he can camp outside of Namjoon’s apartment, no matter how much he would love to. And Jimin’s avoidance is making him angry.
This has never happened before. They have gotten into fights before but never this bad ones. Jungkook knows Jimin’s anger is burning and freezing. It’s not like a burn from fire but frost. He doesn’t lash out but grows quiet and distanced, and it’s the worst thing Jungkook ever experienced. He wishes Jimin would yell at him just so they could talk it out but if you try to talk to Jimin he will only grow angrier.
Jungkook usually doesn’t have any problem making up with Jimin. He gives him some space, lets him brew and calm down a little, and then talks to him and apologises if it is his fault, but this time? This time it really isn’t his fault. He didn’t approach the girl, and it’s not like it was only his decision to keep this a secret from Namjoon. It was his too.
The whole issue has been so unnerving that right now Jungkook is at some random person’s party, wishing he were anywhere else but there, but he has to stay because he heard Jimin is going to be at the party too. A public place is probably not the best place to confront Jimin about their secret relationship but Jungkook has no other option.
He makes his way through the big house, bumping into people at every turn, while looking for Jimin. He hadn’t asked Namjoon about Jimin because he didn’t want him to get suspicious but had gotten it out of Yoongi. Jungkook is sure that Yoongi knows about him and Jimin too but he hasn’t said anything so far. He spots Jimin in the crowd, his heart dropping when he sees the guy next to him, standing too close to Jimin. Jungkook had intended to be peaceful and calmly convince Jimin to talk to him but he feels burning anger rise in him when the guy puts his hand on Jimin’s lower back and Jimin doesn’t push him away.
Jimin has a high tolerance. Jungkook refuses to believe that he’s only drunk and that is why he isn’t pushing the hand away. Inhaling deeply, Jungkook rushes over, Jimin completely unsuspecting, and grabs his wrist. Jimin turns to him, his eyes widening in surprise and then hardening. He is still angry but now so is Jungkook. So when Jimin tries to free his wrist, Jungkook only tightens his grip. Jimin frowns at Jungkook, continuing to pull his hand away.
“We need to talk,” Jungkook yells over the loud music.
He should be careful. Namjoon is at this party too and so are their other friends. He’d be asking too much of them by requesting them not to reveal their secret to Namjoon. Jungkook doesn’t want to put his friends in this position but at that moment he doesn’t care. He knows it’s the anger. He knows this will end up biting him in the ass but he can’t take this anymore. He needs to sort this out, and he needs to do it now.
“I’d rather not,” Jimin yells over the music.
“I don’t care.”
Jimin blinks at him, and before he can say anything else, the guy next to him puts his hand on Jungkook’s shoulder. “He said no.”
Jungkook doesn’t deem him worthy of a reply and tugs on Jimin’s hand again, pulling him with him. The guy isn’t easily deterred, though, turning Jungkook around by grabbing his hand. The anger boils over and, this time, Jungkook doesn’t suppress it. He lets go of Jimin’s hand and pushes the guy, not caring that he falls onto other people. There are screams and everyone looks at them.
“Jungkook!” Jimin screams, grabs his hand and starts tugging him outside, where there are no people and they can hear each other talk. “What is wrong with you?”
“What’s wrong with me?” Jungkook repeats. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you ignoring me?”
Jimin’s face hardens once again. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
He is about to enter the house again but Jungkook holds him back. He’s never been like this, never this desperate, but he’s also never been hurt like this before. “We’re talking about this, hyung. I’m your boyfriend. You can’t just ignore me like this. Talk to me.”
“What am I supposed to talk about?” Jimin hisses, pushing Jungkook away. Jungkook stumbles a step back and watches Jimin closely. “How she was all over you and touching you, and I couldn’t say a thing? How I had to watch someone else flirt with my boyfriend the whole evening while I can’t even tell him I love him?”
Jungkook sighs, his heart breaking when he sees the tears in Jimin’s eyes. He closes the distance between them and cups Jimin’s cheeks with both hands. “I get that you were jealous. I am too but you can’t ignore me like this. I didn’t even know what I did wrong or if you still wanted to be with me. Do you know what it was like, not knowing where you were or how you were? Or if you ever wanted to see me again?”
Jimin sniffles and puts his hand on top of Jungkook’s. “I’m sorry. I never meant to make you feel bad. I was just angry and didn’t know what to do.”
“I get that, hyung, and I would’ve let you think this through on your terms had you only told me once that you’re fine.”
“I’m sorry. I love you, I do, I just don’t know if I can keep going like this.”
Jungkook’s heart stutters, panic trying to seize him. He hopes that Jimin isn’t thinking of breaking up with him. “Then lets tell Namjoon hyung. I don’t want to keep lying to him either.”
“No need.”
Jimin and Jungkook jump apart, turning to the entrance of the house. Standing there is Namjoon, having heard everything.
“Hyung,” Jimin says but Namjoon ignores him.
“How long has this been going on?” he asks, stepping closer to them.
Jungkook’s heart is beating uncontrollably, his gut churning. Jimin doesn’t feel any better.
“Three months,” Jungkook answers. He flinches when Namjoon’s angry gaze turns towards him but he stays where he is. He can’t let his fears control him anymore. He loves Jimin, chose to love him and lie to Namjoon so now he has to own up to it all.
“I knew something was up,” Namjoon says, almost as if he’s talking to himself. “And I could see you had a crush on Jimin but I chose to ignore it because for some odd reason I convinced myself you would never betray me like this.”
“Hyung,” Jungkook says, stepping forward when he sees Jimin shaking from the corner of his eyes. “I know I betrayed you but-”
“But you don’t care,” Namjoon interrupts him. Jungkook shakes his head but Namjoon ignores. “You just wanted to get into my brother’s pants.”
“It’s not like that,” Jimin protests, his voice shaking.
“We love each other,” Jungkook assures Namjoon. “I would never hurt Jimin hyung.”
“That only makes the betrayal so much bigger. Lets go, Jimin.”
“Hyung,” Jimin says but Namjoon only raises one hand. “Lets go.”
Jimin shares one look with Jungkook and then follows Namjoon to his car. Jungkook watches them go with a heavy heart, get in the car and drive off without Namjoon sparing him a glance. He can’t believe he let himself get emotional and get caught by Namjoon like this. He didn’t deserve to find out like this, especially when all Namjoon did is care about them. And now he is leaving Jimin alone to deal with everything by himself because Namjoon can’t even look at him.
Jungkook looks at the house behind him, and then leaves too. There is no bus station close by but that doesn’t matter. He has to get home soon so he can go over to Namjoon’s tomorrow and beg for his forgiveness. He isn’t going to delay anything anymore, and he’s definitely not going to leave Jimin alone with this.
---
It comes as no surprise that Namojoon starts ignoring Jungkook too. Jungkook expected it. While Namjoon is the type to get angry at people, he usually talks it out with them, but Jungkook doesn’t expect him to do so with him. This won’t be as easy as making Jimin talk to him. Jungkook didn’t do anything wrong. Jimin was only angry at the overall situation, so obviously he wasn’t going to stay mad for long. Namjoon is a different case. Jungkook wronged him, betrayed him. That isn’t anything easy to forgive, which is why even two weeks later, Namjoon still doesn’t want to look at Jungkook.
What a great way to start the break, Jungkook thinks to himself. First Jimin got mad and ignored him and he thought they would break, and now Namjoon is mad, is ignoring him, their friendship is probably irreparably broken, and Jimin and him might have to break up. At this point, Jungkook wishes Namjoon would just punch him and be done with it, even if he will most probably break Jungkook’s jaw with how ripped he has been getting lately.
Although he has been messaging Jimin and talking to him occasionally, they decided not to meet up until the thing with Namjoon is cleared up. Jungkook misses him terribly but this time he won’t let his feelings control him and betray Namjoon again.
Jungkook made sure to appear everywhere Namjoon goes; his apartment, grocery shopping, work, and even at leisure activities. It’s pretty easy considering the two spend almost twenty-four hours together and go to all the places together, but Namjoon has been adamant about not acknowledging Jungkook.
Salvation came in the form of Yoongi, who had asked the two of them to help with a track for a movie, and is done with their bullshit. Jungkook stares at Namjoon who is still trying to open the door of the live room. Yoongi lured them to the studio with a lie, locked them in there, and is now watching them from the control.
“I’m done with your bullshit. I’ll let you out once you’ve made up,” Yoongi says and lets himself fall into his chair, picking up a magazine to read. He can still hear everything they’ll say but Jungkook supposes that will work in his favour.
“Hyung,” Jungkook says when Namjoon still hasn’t stopped trying to open the door or turned to face him. “Can we please talk about this?”
“What is there to talk about?” Namjoon asks angrily. “You were one of my best friends and you know my only rule is for my friends to stay away from my brother, and you couldn’t even do that. Three months, Jungkook. You’ve been both lying to me for three months !”
“I get that I hurt you and that doing it behind your back was wrong but I didn’t know he was your brother. You’ve kept Jimin hyung so well-hidden that even after three years you never told me his name. I never even saw a full picture of him. I saw him on campus weeks before you introduced us. By the time you did, Jimin hyung and I had been talking for days. And once I knew he’s your brother I tried to stay away from him, I promise I did, but by then I already liked him too much.”
“That is no consolation,” Namjoon says.
“I know that,” Jungkook says, taking a step closer to Namjoon. “I know I hurt you. I know nothing can make what I did any better, and Jimin hyung told me why you have that rule, but I would never hurt him. I’m not dating him because I want to use him to get to you or just to use him. Hyung, I love him, and even if you decide to never forgive me and give us your blessing, and we break up because neither of us want this, if you don’t like it, I will keep loving him. I will always love Jimin hyung even if he leaves me and marries someone else. Jimin hyung is the type of love you don’t forget.”
Namjoon leans against the wall and buries his face in his hands. Jungkook watches him nervously, heart hammering against his chest. They stay like this for a moment, and the more seconds go by, the more Jungkook feels like he is about to throw up his heart.
“I know all that,” Namjoon says after a while. Jungkook stays silent, confused about what he means. “I know that you’re serious about him and that you’d never hurt him and that you’re one of the best guys he could ever date.”
“But we still betrayed you,” Jungkook concludes for Namjoon when he stays silent.
“Yeah,” Namjoon nods.
Jungkook finally gathers the courage to walk over to Namjoon and stands in front of him. “I know it was a shit thing to do. No matter our reasons, we should’ve told you way sooner. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you because you’re not just my mentor and best friend but my brother too.”
“You’re dating my brother. That’s gross.”
Jungkook snorts, letting out a shaky sigh when he sees the smile on Namjoon’s face.
“I’m really sorry, hyung.”
Namjoon nods, and in his very awkward manner, hugs Jungkook.
“Finally,” Yoongi says into the mic.
Namjoon and Jungkook both laugh, shaking their heads at him.
Maybe things can finally stop being complicated.
---
“We can’t,” Jungkook says when Jimin moves his hands to Jungkook’s belt. “Namjoon hyung will kill me if he sees us like this.”
They’re sitting on the couch in Namjoon’s and Jimin’s apartment, and are supposed to be watching a movie. It was abandoned twenty minutes in when Jimin kept moving his hand up and down Jungkook’s thigh.
“You promised hyung to go celibate. I didn’t,” Jimin says, pressing his lips to Jungkook’s once more.
Jungkook reciprocates the kiss for a moment, enjoying the feeling of Jimin’s lips on his and pulls back. Though it has been a week since Namjoon gave them his blessing, they try to not get too cosy with each other when Namjoon is present or in their apartment.
Jungkook smiles, looks at the clock on the wall, and gives in. There’s still some time left until Namjoon comes back. He pushes Jimin onto his back, leans over him and kisses his lips hungrily. Jimin giggles and pulls him down so their chests are touching. They kiss and kiss, not letting it get any further.
It was only supposed to go on for ten minutes but next thing they know the front door is opening and Jungkook jumps off Jimin. In his haste, he slips and falls on the floor. Jimin covers his mouth with one hand, giggling as Jungkook groans silently. Jungkook would love to scold him for it but his hip is hurting too much and he’s too busy fixing his hair.
Namjoon walks in with a suspicious look in his eyes, finding Jungkook on the ground and Jimin on the couch, hand covering the very visible smile on his lips.
“Hyung, you’re back.”
“I am. What are you doing?”
“Watching a movie,” Jungkook responds, and though he can’t see Jimin, he can feel the smirk on his face.
“What is it about?” Namjoon asks.
“About aliens coming to earth,” Jungkook says as vaguely as possible. They haven’t been properly watching the movie for the last half hour, so he has no idea what happened.
“That’s it? Just aliens.”
Jimin giggles behind Jungkook, making no effort to take some of Namjoon’s scrutiny off Jungkook and onto himself. Little shit.
“I don’t wanna spoil it, Jungkook lies. “You should watch it some day. It’s really good.”
Namjoon narrows his eyes at him but decides not to ask any more questions. Jungkook smiles at him innocently and turns his eyes back onto the screen. Behind him, Jimin can't stop giggling. As soon as Namjoon enters him, Jungkook steals one last kiss from Jimin and takes a seat next to Jimin. He smiles when Jimin takes Jungkook’s hand into his, intertwining their fingers.
Namjoon smiles to himself when he sees it on his way to the kitchen. It’s still new to him but it’s nothing he can’t get used to.
