Ace sighed as he walked out into the open field, stretching out some.
Well. It was time for another day of shenanigans, he supposed. He was prepared for anything this time, having witnessed and experienced several different adventures prior. Strangely enough however, today seemed to be rather quiet. The only thing Ace happened to notice was Chainsaw running from something in the distance. As curious as he was, he didn't happen to notice anything following him, nor did he see or hear anything prior that Chainsaw could have been chasing after.
Now just where exactly was that man off to?
Notes:
I tried to make another whiteboard for PPT2 content but so far things haven’t really been active on there so…despite it being advertised on Twitter (via friends), I’m mentioning it here, too! I won’t make stories about the content on here unless I get REALLY inspired, unlike the Ace whiteboards.

Chapter Text
Journal didn't know what he was supposed to do.
Ace, or...what looked like Ace, was currently staring back down at him, having somehow gotten into the cabin. He couldn't scream, he didn't want to wake everyone else up. He could also be dreaming, and when he woke up, Ace would be gone. Journal remained quiet the entire time, though he kept his eyes on the small creature.
"Hellooo? Anyone down there?" Ace asked again, in that quiet, tiny-sounding voice of his.
"Leave me alone," Journal grumbled, breaking his silence to try and turn away from the guy.
"Nope! Can't do that, sorry!"
"What do you want from me?" Journal asked as he pulled the covers down from his face, irritated.
"Hmmm...what if I got down there and snuggled with you?" Ace offered. "No homo, of course."
"What if I accidentally rolled over and squished you?" Journal grumbled back.
"True, true. Alrighty then, I'll just wait until morning," Ace said cheerfully. "Sweet dreams!"
"Whatever..." Journal sighed, shortly before being the covers back over himself and attempting to fall asleep again.
The last thing Journal remembered seeing before he closed his eyes was Ace jumping off of the top of his bed and falling towards his face.
~~~
It was the next day already, and Journal had almost entirely forgotten about his little critter encounter...until he was outside of the cabin.
"Yikes! That's a bright sun alright!"
Journal froze mid-step upon hearing the voice, and looked down at his feet for any signs of Ace. He wasn't super small from what he remembered, and the white should have stood out against the green of the grass...yet he could not find him.
"Up here, silly!"
Journal then looked up, though he couldn't find Ace that way either.
"Oh, I'm on your head!"
Journal raised a hand to his head, and sure enough...Ace was there. His flat little card body had been wedged between Journal's pages, as if he were some kind of small creature catching a ride on a larger one.
"What the-?! Get down from there!"
"Hee hee!"
Journal started to make wild grabs at the top of his head in an attempt to catch Ace, though for whatever reason he only grabbed air. Journal could feel Ace there, so he knew he was telling the truth...but how the small bug kept evading him was unknown to him.
"What's going on over here?"
The sound of a new voice prompted Journal to stop what he was doing, looking up to see who had spoken. The source was none other than Treasure Chest, who was currently staring at the two with a perplexed expression.
"Oh, uh...just trying to get a tiny bug out of my pages is all!" Journal replied, shortly before making a reach for Ace again.
Ace crawled out of Journal's reach as he grabbed around, un-wedging himself from the pages and crawling onto his back. Journal yelped as Ace did so, though he hopped off and onto the grass shortly after. Treasure Chest got a good look at the guy once he landed, Journal turning around to do the same...as well as scold him, if he got the chance to.
"Isn't that Chainsaw and Knight Helmet's kid?" Treasure Chest asked.
Journal immediately gave him a look.
"What?"
"Yeah, I saw him a day or so ago eating food with them at a table!" Treasure Chest explained. "What's he doing here?
"I dunno, but..."
Journal looked back at the small bug object, who simply stared back at him with what could only be described as "big puppy dog eyes". He let out a sigh before turning back around to face Treasure Chest.
"I guess he's our responsibility now."
Chapter 4: Taurtichoke.
Notes:
A short fic for a silly design idea/pun that was partially inspired by AutumnRetrievers!
Artichoke is an OC that belongs to me!! He is from a series I collab in called “A Place In The Distance”, which you should check out if you’re interested!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“I knew I shouldn’t have let Tadpole’s potion spill onto me.”
Artichoke was currently staring in a mirror, trying to comprehend the fact that he now had a body similar to a Chinese dragon. His stem-like tail, which was originally short, had extended to form a long, noodle like form with several pairs of legs attached to it.
“Well it’s not THAT bad! The potion guy we talked to said it should wear off by the end of the day, right?”
“Yeah, but still!” Artichoke replied. “How am I supposed to manage all these legs, Doggy Ball?”
“We could just…stay here until it wears off?” the green and blue nerf ball replied.
“I GUESS!” Artichoke exclaimed. “As boring as it is, I guess I’d rather not have anyone make fun of me…where is Tadpole, anyway?”
“I think he said he was looking for a cure?” Doggy Ball replied. “Dunno where though, it’s been at least an hour, I think…”
“He’d BETTER not be getting himself into trouble,” Artichoke growled. “If he gets attacked by slimes, I’m not going out there to save him!”
Just then, the two heard a knock on the door, followed by a high pitched voice.
“Guys, it’s me! Tadpole!” the voice exclaimed. “You holding up alright in there?”
“No, we’re doing terrible,” Artichoke replied. “Did you find the cure?”
“Weeeell…sort of?”
“…what do you mean sort of.”
“Maaayyybeee…maybe nooot…”
“Tadpole, why don’t you talk in here?” Doggy Ball asked. “It’d be easier that way. Here, I can get the door.”
He stood up to do so, and walked over to the tavern room door.
“Well, I could, it’s just I might’ve…uh…messed up a little maybe?” Tadpole replied.
“Oh lord, don’t tell me…” Artichoke muttered.
Doggy Ball slowly swung the door open, to reveal Tadpole standing before them…
With an additional pair of legs attached to his body.
“God dangit.”
Chapter Text
Ace had already experienced a rather boring day.
As he walked through the entrance of his house, Ace made sure to close the door behind himself before making his way over to a nearby sofa. All that flying around for nothing had made him exhausted, but maybe now things would change. Sitting down, Ace looked up at the ceiling of his neat, well-cleaned house. Perhaps a nap was what he needed. Closing his eyes, Ace slowly leaned back against the sofa as he prepared to do just that...
...until a noise prompted his eyes to snap open.
Ace quickly sat up, immediately scanning his surroundings for the source of the sound. Nobody was supposed to know where his house was except for himself, so if someone had somehow managed to find him...well...he needed to change that. The front door was still closed from what he could see, and all his windows had been locked. Not a single one had a crack in it, and the last time he’d checked, any and all holes in his house had been patched up. Did something drill a new hole in somehow? Had this being entered at the same time he’d opened the door? Was he just overreacting to the point he was hallucinating what could possibly have been something simply falling off a shelf on its own due to unstable placement?
…And that was when he spotted it.
At first he wasn’t sure if his eyes were deceiving him or not, but the closer he looked, the more sure he was.
A small Chainsaw and a Knight Helmet were both crawling around on his kitchen table.
But they weren't just any normal objects, no. Not only did they have appearances that resembled familiar faces, but they also had an extra pair of arms, along with small bug antennae atop their heads. Technically the Knight Helmet's antennae were absent, but Ace reasoned that they could've been hidden within his hair. Ace stood up out of his seat and flew over to the two, the small bugs almost immediately taking notice to his presence. Although he was initially speechless, Ace soon found the words to speak up...and when he did, he made sure that he was loud and clear.
Chapter Text
Highschool sucked.
At least, Chainsaw thought so. But it wasn’t the worst thing that could happen to him, and at least he had friends. Everyone else in the school was miserable, and it was rare that any of these non-friends wound up becoming his friends. Every day was another round of torture in the form of learning, the only excitement coming from whatever free time he had…which was often spent messing other students up or asking for lunch money. How he somehow hadn’t gotten detention or worse yet was unknown to him, but maybe it was those threats he gave to his victims that were working magic.
Chainsaw was currently walking down the hall with Basketball and Brick, talking with them about the kinds of objects they’d encountered so far: nerds, jocks, emos, the school had it all. Speaking of emos, there was one guy in particular Chainsaw had kept hearing about from others every so often. Apparently his name was “Knight Helmet”, and he was popular amongst a small handful of students. Chainsaw didn’t understand the appeal though, it wasn’t like he cared. He hadn’t seen the guy himself yet, but he didn’t need to see him to know that this “Knight Helmet” guy was a total dork. He was probably some wannabe edgelord that could only afford enough dye to cover half his hair, bonus points if he wore black and red with too many accessories.
“Yeah, I saw him in the halls earlier this morning,” Basketball said. “Kind of a pathetic guy, if you ask me.”
“Actually, I think I saw some girls talking about him in the halls,” Brick mentioned. “Dunno why though, he doesn’t even look that cool.”
“Girls will swoon over anything nowadays,” Basketball replied.
“Heh, yeah,” Chainsaw scoffed. “Girls, am I right?”
Basketball and Brick chuckled along with him as the trio continued their walk down the halls, though Chainsaw couldn’t help but notice something out of the corner of his vision. He glanced over, expecting himself to only look for a few seconds before looking back ahead…but then he realized what the object was. Rounded, silvery body with some kind of visor around their eye area, hair coming from the top of their head…
It was Knight Helmet.
Chainsaw said nothing, but boy did his eyes widen as he continued to stare at the guy. Knight Helmet’s hair was entirely dyed black, and he had a black leather collar around his neck with metal spikes on it. His facial expression said everything, warning others not to get too close to him with his glare and scowl.
Chainsaw nearly ran into the wall.
Chapter 7: Knight Helmet vs Inscryption
Chapter Text
Knight Helmet didn’t remember what he’d done to get here, but he supposed it wasn’t the worst situation in the world.
He’d woken up in a strange cabin one day, the door behind him locked shut. Sitting in front of him was…well, he couldn’t exactly make out the body behind it, but there was a face with two white eyes that would occasionally be replaced with orange spiral patterns. All sorts of trinkets and tools lined the walls and tables around him, though many were held in place by metal restraints or locks. Despite the eerie ambience however, Knight Helmet wasn’t too afraid of the place.
“Another challenger…it has been ages.”
Knight Helmet re-directed his attention to the pair of eyes from before. He couldn’t tell if the voice belonged to the pair of eyes or not, but he didn’t see any other entities in the room. Speaking of which, the lack of any other recognizable figure in the room slightly concerned him. Was he even in Canada anymore? Could this…thing even be trusted?
“Uh…do you know how I can get out of here?” Knight Helmet asked, slowly reaching for his wooden sword. “I was kind of in the middle of something…”
That was a lie, but he still wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible. He needed to know if Plasma Ball and Caramel Cube were okay, or any of the others for that matter.
“Hm. Well then, if you win this game of mine, I shall set you free,” the voice replied.
Knight Helmet stopped reaching for his sword. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
“Game?” Knight Helmet asked. “What game?”
The voice went quiet for a bit, as if thinking. It spoke again, but it didn’t seem angry or irritated at all. Rather, it sounded understanding and genuine.
“Perhaps you have forgotten how the game is played…” the voice said. “Allow me to remind you.”
Knight Helmet was still confused. The voice acted like he’d been here before, but he couldn’t recall ever being in this place. As strange symbols started forming on the table, he noticed a deck of cards start to assemble next to him. If this entity wanted him to play a game in order to escape, then play a game he would.
“Oh, I don’t play many card games, but uh…I suppose I can try!” Knight Helmet replied. “I just…huh?”
Knight Helmet suddenly looked down at the table as he was dealt a hand of 4 cards. They were all animals: a stoat, a squirrel, and a wolf…except for one card in particular.
And for some reason…it looked…familiar?
…but why?
Chapter Text
Globe was not expecting his morning to start off with the screams and shouts of his other teammates from the cabins.
Alas, that was how things were when a handful of them woke up in a shrunken down state, having more limbs than they remembered ever having in their lives. They also had antennae on their heads, with some of them having altered legs as well. Team Question Mark had all made an effort to meet up as quickly as they could outside of their cabins, trying to figure out what was going on.
Post-It Note, while somewhat bothered, had taken a slight interest in his new features. Globe remembered him saying something about “fire ants”, but he’d rambled so much that not all of it stuck in his head. Bottle and Milk were somewhat bothered by the situation, with Bottle mentioning something about Chainsaw that Globe also did not hear. It wasn’t clear what bugs they were, but it wasn’t like they cared either.
Brick was…an interesting case. He’d gotten antennae like everyone else, but instead of extra arms, he’d gotten four more legs, which totaled up to six. Pan was essentially the same thing, though he seemed to be having fun with it. Bottle joked that Brick looked like “the angriest caterpillar she’d ever seen”, and Globe had to intervene before a fight started.
Globe himself had gotten the antennae and limb changes, but one half of his limbs were dark blue while the others were green. In addition to this, he’d also gotten moth-like wings on his back. He hadn’t tried to fly yet, as there were currently more important matters at hand. None of the group members knew what had caused this, because as far as they were concerned, they’d completed the challenges needed and gone to sleep like normal for at least a month now. None of them remembered interacting with any sort of thing that could have done this, which then prompted Pan to speak up.
“Well, maybe it could’ve been a silly prank!”
Brick scoffed in response.
“Even if it was a prank, who the heck would’ve done this? You’d probably need like…some magic potion or something to do this.”
And that was when the others realized.
There was someone they knew that could have done this.
Milk was the first to speak up about it, her voice quiet and low.
“You don’t think…?”
“Surely it couldn’t have been…” Bottle muttered.
All of them said the name at the same time.
“Ace.”
Sorry I’ve been slow with writing, IRL life is a thing that exists 😔
But in the meantime, I’m glad other users are adding PPT2 fics! It’s nice to see the fandom now that it has 200+ works on it!
I actually wanted to make a short story chapter on here based on a small conversation Soriah and I had about both a Demon Ace (though it was kind of a joke) and Slipper singing “Respectless” to Plasma Ball or Journal, but sadly nothing came to mind, and I was unable to get enough substance to make something decent 😔. Must be the burnout…
I’m hoping I can at least finish these, though I can’t guarantee any of my other fics will receive attention for quite some time…I haven’t gotten inspiration from anything yet, I could really use some kind of AU fic where the characters go on an adventure over the course of a few chapters…
Notes:
On a side note: I ACTUALLY WOUND UP ACCIDENTALLY PREDICTING KH’S ELIMINATION 😭
ItzBeezy and I had a conversation during one of our idea spams on the whiteboard, and one exchange went like this:
Beezy: I honestly can’t imagine PPT2 without a twinky KH/j
Me: Watch as he gets eliminated/j
(Beezy drew a concerned facial expression as a response)
.
LIKE THAT’S CRAZY, I DIDN’T THINK ABOUT IT UNTIL AFTER THE EPISODE HAPPENED 😭
Chapter 10: Snowychains (preview)
Notes:
This story isn’t actually based on a whiteboard doodle someone else drew! This is for an AU I’ve had in my head for months but never got the motivation to write! Idk if I’ll continue it even now, but maybe someone out there is interested?
It was supposed to be a “darkfic”, but I’m not sure what exactly classifies as a “darkfic” so I didn’t stick with calling it that yet.
Chapter Text
It was a cold, autumn day, and Chainsaw was absolutely miserable.
He’d been walking around in a forest for the past several hours, thinking to himself about how everything was going. The competition was starting to change now, and he no longer felt as unstoppable as he had before. Being up for elimination once was enough to make him realize he needed to up his game, even if he survived the one time. In fact, he needed to make sure that he was never up for elimination again.
“Stupid show…stupid Gold Ingot…UGH!” Chainsaw growled, kicking a nearby rock out of his way. “I wish I could just…show them all who’s boss!”
”So it’s power you seek, eh?”
Chainsaw looked up at the sound of a new, slightly faint voice, but couldn’t tell where it was coming from. There didn’t seem to be any object standing nearby, and if it was Ace being invisible, it certainly didn’t sound like him.
“Who said that?! Show yourself!” Chainsaw exclaimed.
“Oh, apologies. I can’t really…”show myself” exactly,” the voice said. “You may address me as “Rao”, though.”
“Okay…weirdo,” Chainsaw muttered. “Why were you spying on me?”
“Spying? Oh no! I just happened to hear your complaints from afar, and figured that I might be able to help!”
Chainsaw raised an eyebrow.
“How so?”
“I know of a trinket that can grant you the power you desire! You just have to follow my instructions…”
“What…kind of power?”
“Oh, power beyond your comprehension!” the voice exclaimed. “You want something done? The spirits of the cold will be at your command. No need to worry about feeling lackluster anymore when the power of Winter itself will heed your call.”
Chainsaw stared. There was no way that something that powerful existed in Canada, and even if it did, how did he know this wasn’t a trick? Anybody could make up a lie nowadays (including himself!), so really there was no reason to trust a random stra-
“Alright, you’ve got my attention,” Chainsaw replied. “Where do we go to get this trinket?”
A single orange leaf that had fallen to the ground suddenly flew up, dancing around as if it were a living thing.
“Follow the leaf as it blows through the wind, and you shall soon find the power you desire…”
“O…kay?”
Chainsaw thought it was stupid, but with no other option, he did as told. It was like magic, with the winds carrying the leaf down twisting and turning paths. Chainsaw could feel as the air rushed past him the more he walked, the air starting to grow more chilly around him. It almost bothered him a little, but he did his best to shake it off. He could handle a little cold.
The forest seemed to grow quiet as the color of the foliage turned from an autumn orange to a winter white. Bare, dead trees covered in white bark surrounded the place, and despite it not being winter, Chainsaw could have sworn there were patches of frost on the ground. Eventually though, the leaf landed on a white stone pedestal with a single glimmering item on it.
“Here we are~”
Chainsaw slowly walked over to the pedestal, unsure of what to expect. The item that sat atop it looked like a metallic black ring with a twisted design, as if two rings had been woven together. Sticking out of it were small spikes, as if the thing were made out of thorny vines…but it didn’t look like it’d be too much of a bother to wear.
“Is…is that it? Just a ring?” Chainsaw asked, noticing his breath was now visible in the air around him.
“Oh, but not just any ring. Wear it and the power is yours,” the voice said. “You just have to do a little favor for me.”
“And…what is that favor?”
“I can’t tell you until you put the ring on. Sorry.”
“What if I don’t like your favor after I put it on?”
“Once you take that ring, there’s no going back, that’s all I’ll say.”
Chainsaw hesitated.
The competition was starting to get more intense now, with more and more people being eliminated. He’d gotten this far already, but…he couldn’t guarantee that he’d stay for longer, let alone win. This could be his chance at finally winning something for once in his life, and even if he didn’t…he’d still have the power to try and take it by force.
“I…um…”
“Oh, but if you want to remain a weak, pathetic excuse for a competitor that everyone will laugh at, be my guest,” the voice said. “I’ll just find someone else interested in power beyond their comprehension…”
“Wait-!”
Chainsaw looked down at the ring again, now considering his choices. All this power was right in front of him, and he could take it before anyone else could. In fact, he specifically had been picked instead of anyone else that might’ve wandered through this area, which could have been anyone given how far away the forest was from the competition grounds. The more Chainsaw thought about it, the more he realized that he couldn’t risk one of the others finding this thing and using it themselves. That voice didn’t sound like it would keep the ring safe for him if he left to think about it, either.
So he slowly reached out his hand towards the ring, sensing a change in the air as he did so. It could have been his vision, but Chainsaw swore he could see small, white specks starting to fall from the sky as well. His fingers now outstretched, he could almost feel the cold radiating off the ring as he got closer…but paused just inches away from it.
Was this really what he wanted?
…
Surely there was something else.
…
Well.
…
The favor couldn’t be that bad, could it?
Chapter 11: Ace and Rainsaw get sent to the backrooms
Notes:
Chapter Text
Rainsaw didn’t remember how he’d gotten here.
All he knew was that he woke up one day to find himself in a maze full of rooms, the only other object in the place being an ace of diamonds card that simply went by the name “Ace”. Sounded familiar, but since Rainsaw couldn’t tell where he’d heard the name or seen the object before, he decided not to bother with asking questions. According to Ace, the two were in a place called “The Backrooms”, and it seemed to be nothing but empty yellow rooms with the occasional piece of furniture. There were also these strange entities roaming around as well, ones unlike anything Rainsaw had ever seen in his world. One of the shriveled-looking entities approached Rainsaw while he was walking with Ace, which had prompted him to turn around and ask it a question:
“Why are you so ugly?”
The entity made a noise akin to a sad whine, before slowly shuffling away from the two. Rainsaw and Ace watched it from where they stood, until finally it was out of their sight.
“Ugh, why in the seven seas are there so many entities in one place?” Rainsaw grumbled. “It’s starting to get annoying.”
“Hey, be nice!” Ace scolded. “They’re probably trapped here like you and I are!”
“Whatever.”
Rainsaw then started towards a nearby hallway, not caring if Ace followed him or not. These dull, blank hallways were starting to irritate him now, and he wanted to leave without having to ask any more questions. Maybe it was just him hallucinating, but the room seemed to get redder and redder the more he walked through it. Rainsaw almost had to squint as he looked around for a way out of the place.
“Why is there so much red, it hurts my-“
A loud screech cut him off before he could finish his sentence, prompting him to turn around and try to locate the source. He couldn’t tell what it was, but he didn’t have to wait too long to find out…because only seconds later did a mass of black, shadowy tendrils spring out from the end of the hallway behind him and shoot forth.
“ACK! WHAT THE?!”
Rainsaw wasted no time in sprinting away from the creature, not willing to take any risks with it. Up ahead was a door that led to another hallway, one with noticeably less red. The second Rainsaw shot through the door, he whipped around and aimed his hands at the creature, blasting it with water as hard as he could. The creature struggled as it tried to push against the force, but Rainsaw never gave it the chance to. The second the creature was shoved in enough, Rainsaw slammed the door behind him, the screeches now muffled as the creature slammed on the door a couple of times.
Finally it stopped, and as the silence of the room resumed, Rainsaw let out an exhausted sigh.
“I gotta get out of here.”
“Hey Journal!”
“Hey Treasure Chest!”
“Isn’t it a wonderful day outside?”
“Indeed it is! I picked this flower just for you!”
“Oh how sweet, thank you! I should do something for you…”
“There’s no need! You being happy is already enough!”
“Oh you!”
As the two objects laughed happily together, Cup watched from a nearby bush, glaring at the two suspiciously. He wouldn’t have watched them if it weren’t for the excessive smiles and laughs they were exchanging. And by excessive, he meant excessive. Treasure Chest had quite literally stepped on Journal’s foot when the two first met up, and Cup was there to witness both of them laugh it off like it was nothing. Journal never broke a smile to complain about the pain, even for a second.
It was this excessive happiness that had led Cup to start observing and avoiding everyone he saw. He might’ve been a happy fella himself, but even he had his fair share of negative emotions from time to time. Being happy like this was just…unnatural, and almost uncomfortable. But he didn’t even know if there was anything he could do about it.
From what he could remember, this had all started around the time Gold Ingot had hosted his 3rd challenge. Cup recalled hearing something about “finding things in a laboratory”, but not much else. Once the challenge finished for the day, everything felt like it had gone back to normal, but the more Cup listened to the noises outside, the stranger it seemed to get. Anyone he heard near the DPOD seemed to talk in a nice manner, regardless of who it was. At some point Gold Ingot had even let a ladder down for the objects in the DPOD to climb out, insisting it was “the least he could do”.
At first, Cup had dismissed it as nothing more than a simple change of heart, or maybe even a change of plans. The others seemed okay with it, and Cup had just gone with them back to the competition grounds to hang out for the day. Gold Ingot said they were free to hang around as long as they didn’t interfere with the competition, and that they did. Cup slept peacefully that night, and when the next day arrived, he was ready to catch up with some old friends of his.
But then he’d noticed something as he walked by Team Question Mark one day. They were having a conversation about something, and Brick seemed a lot more happier than usual. Ace was talking about how Gold Ingot approved of his magic, Milk was speaking up a lot more, and Bottle even mentioned she’d been talking with…Chainsaw! And everyone was okay with it!
The closer Cup looked however, the more he started to see that Pan was the only one acting normally. But he didn’t seem afraid of everyone around him being overly nice, no. He almost seemed supportive of it. The others seemed to listen to him too, because whenever he suggested something they almost always agreed to it.
Cup had walked away without interfering after witnessing such a thing, but it still stuck with him for the rest of the day…and the days after that. Cup guessed that Pan had gotten into something back in the lab, and that was why everyone else was acting overly happy. Cup didn’t know how or why this was happening of course, but until he managed to find a way to stop this weird happiness magic…
He swore that he would get to the bottom of this.
Notes:
TDLR: Pan evil, made everyone happy except Cup (bc he thought Cup was naturally happy like himself) and now everyone is happy to a not normal extent!!
Also unrelated but KNIGHT HELMET x PLASMA BALL IS FINALLY A SHIP TAG LETS GOOO
Chapter Text
Chainsaw regretted everything the moment the earth crumbled beneath his feet.
His friends had dared him to see how far he could walk outside of the competition grounds before Gold Ingot noticed, and, like a fool, he’d done it. He’d walked for so long in fact, he had no clue where he was. And now he was in his current situation: grabbing the edge of a crumbling cliff after he’d taken a careless step too close to it. A deep ravine was underneath him, the bottom too dark to see.
Chainsaw originally figured he’d just drop and let himself get recovered…but then he wondered if he’d even get recovered at all. From what he remembered one of the nerds saying, the machine back at the competition grounds only recovered objects if they were within a certain radius of it. Chainsaw himself hadn’t paid attention to how far it specifically reached, thinking it wouldn’t ever be important…and now he was starting to regret not listening. As the cliffside began to crumble under his weight, Chainsaw made a desperate attempt to see if there was anything else that could save him…and that was when he saw it.
A small, purple, glimmering speck was flying through the sky, just above the area he was. Chainsaw couldn’t tell what it was exactly, but decided to take his chances with it nonetheless.
“HEY! DOWN HERE!” he shouted.
Almost immediately, the small speck stopped where it was and hovered in place for a bit. It then shot down towards Chainsaw, and grabbed his hand before the part of the cliff he was holding could crumble. Chainsaw squinted at the entity, trying to see who or what it was. It looked like Ace…but he had bug features?
Eh, it probably wasn’t important right now.
Ace had grabbed Chainsaw’s hand with all four of his own hands, and was now trying as hard as he could to lift him up and towards the side of the cliff edge. Unfortunately, he was much smaller than his usual size, and it was very clear that he was struggling with the task.
“Come on…” Chainsaw muttered.
“This isn’t…gonna work…gotta try…my other idea…”
Despite clearly hearing his voice, Chainsaw didn’t see Ace’s mouth move at all. It was almost like…he’d communicated it some other way?
“Wait, you can talk through my head?!” Chainsaw exclaimed out loud. “Get outta there!”
Ace rolled his eyes before continuing.
“Yeah of course I can, but that’s not important right now! Listen, I know how we can get out of this without any harm, but you’re gonna have to cooperate with me here.”
“Why can’t you just make yourself into something bigger or stronger to lift me up?” Chainsaw asked. “Or cast a strength-boosting spell, I dunno!”
“Because if I did that, I’d lose focus and drop you!” Ace replied. “We’re going to have to go with something else, and I know what that is…but you’ll have to listen to me and do as I say.”
“Are you crazy?!” Chainsaw exclaimed. “Why would I listen to you?!”
Ace could feel his grip on Chainsaw starting to slip, and with it, his patience.
“Do you want to be saved or not?!” he shot back.
Chainsaw was about to reply, but paused for a second to consider the possible outcomes.
His choices were either: fall down the ravine and be crushed to bits upon hitting the bottom, or be rescued by a fellow competitor who currently took on a bug-like appearance. He didn’t even know if he’d be recovered if he fell, so the choice seemed obvious…and yet the inner workings of his mind told him not to take the easy way out.
But then again…no one was out here to witness it, so it wouldn’t be too much of a deal, would it?
“Okay, fine! I’ll listen,” Chainsaw said. “Now what do I do?”
“Wish,” Ace replied. “Wish with all your might that you and I both get out of here safely, and my magic will do the rest.”
“What?! That’s stupid!” Chainsaw exclaimed.
“Trust me! We don’t have much time here!” Ace shouted. “You either do it or you don’t!”
As if to add to his point, the grip between Chainsaw and Ace seemed to loosen up even more, with Ace now starting to sink down a little from Chainsaw’s weight. Chainsaw inhaled sharply before exhaling, now realizing that there truly was no better option. As stupid as it sounded, Chainsaw closed his eyes and wished with all his might that him and Ace would get out of this situation…and that it would never be mentioned again.
He wished that nobody was around to see.
He wished that he wouldn’t have to panic over whether or not he’d be recovered.
He wished that whatever magic was out there would save him…
…And before long, a white glow began to surround the two.
Chainsaw barely opened his eyes as the glow covered his face, closing his eyes only seconds after as everything seemed to fade to black…
…
…
Chainsaw’s eyes shot open.
He immediately found himself sitting up from the ground, which-
Wait, ground?
Chainsaw looked down, only to see that he was sitting on the same grassy area that was only a few feet away from the cliff’s edge. He’d gotten to safety like Ace had promised, at least…
Where was Ace, anyway?
Chainsaw made a move to stand up, but for some reason he found it difficult to do so. His legs felt…weird, the more he thought about it. His whole body felt weird. Looking around, Chainsaw noticed a small puddle nearby, and soon found himself crawling over towards it to look at his reflection…
Or more accurately, their reflection.
They now looked like a pair of rectangular scissors, with small triangular spikes sticking out of their blades. The rounded hinge of the scissors had a rhombus-like diamond shape on it, and the handle was half black, half blue. Bug antennae stuck out from their head while their new limbs and (now digitigrade) legs had spider-like features on them.
Despite nothing being spoken, written, or even hinted at anywhere, two words were burned into the back of the object’s mind.
CARD CUTTER.
Chapter Text
Chainsaw sat alone on a hill one sunny day, absolutely dumbfounded.
Ever since the day Ace had saved him from that cliff, he’d begun questioning and thinking about several things. It didn’t help that he’d fused with another object some time after, and that everyone had been noticing how weird he’d been acting after that. These thoughts probably would have eventually faded away into the back of his mind, never to be seen again, if it wasn’t for the fact that there was another thing on his mind: somehow, the two objects that he’d fused with so far had something in common, and that was that both resulting fusions obtained animal features that weren’t usually in the two object’s normal forms. Ace had been self explanatory of course, the guy had probably given himself bug features because he was bored and those transferred to the fusion when they became Card Cutter.
But then there was the other case…
Knight Helmet.
Sure enough, Chainsaw had caught Knight Helmet goofing off with his sword one day and decided to watch him. One thing led to another, and Chainsaw soon found himself having a mock battle with Knight Helmet. The two had been having so much fun that neither of them noticed a bright light surrounding them. It faded away as quickly as it had arrived, and it didn’t take long for the two to realize they were now one.
Their fusion had wound up being a sword of some kind, with spikes going down its blade. This would have been fine and everything if it weren’t for two additional features: a ribbon that tied around the sword handle that stuck out like a tail, and two slightly larger spikes at the top of the blade that almost looked like cat ears. In fact, Chainsaw could’ve even sworn the two had claws and enhanced speed. Similar to how Ace’s fusion had went, the fusion didn’t last long enough for him to examine himself entirely…but that didn’t mean he didn’t want answers.
It could’ve been a coincidence of course, it really could’ve. But Chainsaw still couldn’t help but ask if all fusions like this. He would’ve asked Ace by now, if he knew where the guy went. Curse Gold Ingot for treating him so badly he just disappeared off the face of the Earth and was near impossible to locate. Looked like he’d have to figure this out the hard way, and that was manually.
And so, Chainsaw set off to find an object he could fuse with…in hopes of finding someone that wouldn’t create some kind of weird animal fusion as a result.
Also called: Chainsaw denies he’s a furry/j
Idk if I’ll do another whiteboard soon or not, but I know for sure I’m not gonna type out Chainsaw’s whole fusion adventure UNLESS I get enough people saying they want it.
