Work Text:
It had been a long day for MePad. He really just wanted to go home. Half the day he had heard his coworkers- and boss! complain about the same guy, called.. Toilet, was it? He had hardly paid attention, he had never met the guy, but pretending to made them somewhat happy.
He didn't take their words to mind, really. And, MePhone complained about practically everyone, so he just assumed the guy wasn't that bad. Just a bit.. loud, maybe.
He hummed to himself. No reason to dwell on it, really. He wasn't this Toilet fellow, nor did he know him. He stepped into the elevator, about to press the button to the ground floor, when he heard quick footsteps behind him. He turned his head, and-
A small male, with white hair (cut into a bowlcut. yeesh, poor guy) and a whitish suit that matched the hair sped into the elevator, almost falling. MePad raise his eyebrows. He had.. never seen this guy before. The male looked up with a toothy grin, showing bright, light blue braces. Interesting colour, MePad thought to himself.
"Are you going down to the ground floor as well?" MePad asked, politely. The guy straightened up, brushing off his suit, before nodding wildly. "Yes I am!" MePad pressed the button "Mistah Phone told me not to go down the stairs so I didn't botha' him, so I've gotta go in the elevatah!"
"Mister.. phone?" MePad questioned, scanning his databases for someone under that alias as the elevator began to descend. The only one under "Phone" was.. MePhone. "Do you perhaps mean.. MePhone?" The male nodded again. "Yeah- Mistah MePhone! Do you work for him as well? I haven't seen you before! My name is Toilet!" He stuck his hand out, and the robot took it, shaking it. So this was the infamous Toilet. He.. didn't seem bad. Just very energized. "I'm MePad."
Toilet paused for a moment, before smiling again- although it felt.. somewhat forced. "You're Mistah Phones other assistant! He's mentioned you a few times!" MePad raised an eyebrow at that, replying with a small hum of acknowledgement.
And then the power went out.
The elevator halted, and went dark, causing the white-haired male to let out a small gasp, seemingly of fear. The room was illuminated by the purple of MePads face, thankfully, but the fear on the others face made him wince slightly.
"Are.. you alright?" MePad asked, tilting his head slightly. Toilet looked up, shaking his head and putting on a brave face. "Of course I am! Small enclosed spaces could never scare me!"
That made MePad chuckle slightly. This guy was pretty endearing- and cute as well. "It's fine to admit if you're scared, Toilet." The other blinked slightly, sighing. "I guess I'm a little claustrophobic.."
The robot smiled slightly, "It's most likely just a power outage, the elevator will start working when they fix that. In the meantime, we can just sit and talk, if you wish, to get your mind off of it.
The other male brightened at that.
---------------------------
They had been in that elevator for around 2 hours and 30 minutes. The power must've been out for a while, MePad thought, before refocusing his attention on the smaller male next to him. When the elevator first went down, he had been shaking, a lot. Now he had calmed down significantly, and was rambling about a project he had been working on. Toilet talked a a lot, and.. he charmed MePad. He adored the way the others big blue eyes lit up when he spoke about a topic he enjoyed. The other was surprisingly smart, compared to what others said. He was definitely more book-smart then street-smart, he wasn't much of either, but the level of passion he had for his nerdy interests could be harnessed into something.
He suddenly paused his talking, causing MePad to blink. Before MePad could ask what was wrong, he began speaking again. "..Uhm, why are you listening to me?" Toilet asked, fiddling around with his bowtie. MePad stared, before replying rather matter-of-factly. "Why wouldn't I? I think the topics you're speaking of are intruiging, and I enjoy listening to your view on things."
"Well- everyone else finds me annoying." MePad winced. Him knowing what they said about him made it somewhat worse. He felt especially bad now that he got to know him. "Even Mistah Phone. I try very hard but.. he just doesn't seem to like me. I have no friends here.." He mumbled, crestfallen, before realising what he said, "It-it doesn't mattah though! Didn't mean to dump that on ya, haha!"
He tried to brush it off, and MePad frowned. "Well- I'll be your friend, Toilet. He just doesn't understand how great you are."
He turned to face Toilet, who was now smiling brightly. He.. had a really nice smile. "Ya- ya really mean it, MePad?" And MePad nodded in return. Toilet beamed, and turned to face the wall, frantically flapping his hands in excitement. The robot smiled softly at that.
They continued to chat on the floor, and then lights flickered on. "The powers back on now." MePad hummed. Toilet pondered, before looking in his pockets for something He took out a small piece of paper, handing it to MePad. "It's me phone number-! So, we can like, talk outside of work!" MePad laughed. "I'll make sure to message you when I'm home."
The elevator began it's descent to the ground floor, and they stood up, Toilet buzzing with energy. He seemed like such a sweet guy, MePad had trouble linking him and the version of him the others spoke about. He was lovely, and they made him out to be some sort of villain.
They finally reached the ground floor, and with a quick, "Goodbye!", Toilet rushed off. As MePad stepped out, MePhone faced him with a small smirk. "So, you finally met Toilet, huh? What do you think of him?"
"He's quite nice, sir." MePad replied. MePhone raised an eyebrow, his bright hawaiian shirt seeming rather unprofessional. He shrugged. "I guess he can work on projects with you now, then." The other robot stated, before walking off. MePad sighed, and walked towards the exit.
---------------------------
He was finally home. That day had been extremely draining, but.. Toilet had brightened it up. His energy was somewhat contagious. He smiled, thinking back to their conversation. He took out the number, inputting it to his contacts, before sending a small greeting.
The other replied almost instantly- a clear amount of mistakes in his reply.
MePad smiled.
Cute.
