Yachi was usually a very jumpy and nervous when I came to social situations, imagine the teams surprise when she has been suspiciously chill thought the whole week during practice
Some even said they saw her with red eyes and that she might have been crying, all these red flags raised worry in all the team for their manager
That was until Hinata caught her doing something when she was supposed to be getting the water
“Uh Yachi?”
“Oh! Hinata! Hi!” She said while she just puffed out a bit of smoke and hid her hands in her pockets shoving something in there, she was leaning against a wall while doing so
“What were you doing and where did that puff of smoke come from?” He asked confused about her weird behavior
“Oh me? Nothing I was just taking a break from the water bottles!” She pointed to her side where the sink was and the basket filled with water bottles
“Oh well I came to help you carry them since Kiyoko couldn’t, but, can I ask you something?”
“Oh sure anything!”
“Are you high?” He said bluntly
“Huh” the question had caught her to off guard she took there dumbfounded until she eventually said “Pffshh who me? No I could never, haha…”
“Are u sure?” He asked skeptically, not buying her lie
At this point Yachi was over it and just blurted out a “yeah, i am” she took out her pen and showed it to him
“Oh shit” he said looking shocked
“What you alr figured it out, why r u shocked?” She asked with a confused look on her face and her eyebrows furrowed a bit back to being relaxed
“Well I didn’t actually think you did, I mean, you of all people, I figured maybe Tsukishima but you?” He said as he made his way to lean next to her on the wall
“Yea I know it’s unexpected but it’s the way I cope I guess” she shrugged
“Cope? With what?”
“Everything I guess, you know how it is”
“Yea.. I guess I do…”
Silence
“Well!” She said as she clapped her hands together in a chipper mood than before “we should get these water bottles going”
“Oh yeah they’re probably wondering where we are” he said on his way to help her “hey you know you should probably get eye drops there’s rumors going around that your eyes are red because your crying”
“WHAT!?” She squawked totally caught off guard “oh man I thought I was being subtle” she said sounding deafened
“Yea your most definitely not being subtle” he laughed causing Yachi to giggle alongside him “but off topic you seem more relaxed and confident now, just don’t get to addicted”
Yachi laughed beside him “of course not I’m only doing it now because finals is kicking my ass right now” she giggles
Hinata sighed of relief at that, “I’m glad” he said as they reached the gym
“Hey! What took you guys so long!” Tanaka yelled
“Yeah! We thought you died” nishinoya backed him up
“It wasn’t that serious, but yeah we were starting to get worried” Suga said softly to them
“Heh yeah sorry about that, we lost track of time” Yachi said as she scratched her head sheepishly “Yeaah” Hinata added also looking sheepishly
“It’s fine, as long as your here and ok” Suga smiled at them
They continued practice not feeling as worried as previously

They had another training camp
Yachi in particular has been looking forward to this one since she had a few people she was ready to see again
See on the last two she had made some friendships that were unexpected but made one of them has been Kuro Testuro
She and Kuro and some others had bonded during the night mostly they would both stay up late talking or just walking
So once they arrived Yachi was told to go with Eri and Yukie on cooking duty for the rest of the day since they arrived around the afternoon. Yachi didn’t mind she found it fun cooking
She and and Yukie were talking about what they were up to since the last time they saw each other Eri, chipping in on the convo when she could, when Yukie asked
“Hey, Yachi, I realized you more relaxed your, not your usual jumpy self, was it because of the long trip orr?” She asked with confusion while dipping her head to the side making and “o” with her mouth while watching Yachi cut up the seasoning
“Yeah I’ve noticed it to, don’t get us wrong, it’s nice to see you so relaxed, it’s just not like you” Eri added while moving the moot infornt of her
“Oh, I didn’t even realize I was, haha” she said sounding a bit nervous “I think it’s because of the trip” she added not looking at either of them in the eye
“Hm I guess that makes sense” Yukie said shrugging while getting herself a box of milk
Their conversation continued with Eri and Yukie bickering something about a kitchen incident, Yachi wasn’t paying to much attention focusing on the fact that they might have figured her out
Later that night (around 10)
The Coaches had let the members walk around at night or get snacks if they couldn’t sleep but they couldn’t be out for to long
Yachi had taken advantage of this with joy, since she usually couldn’t sleep so she found herself every other night if the training camp walking around, she would also usually find a variety of players also awake
This particular night she had found Kuroo he was sitting on a bench next to the vending machine she was going to go to
He eventually spotted her and gave a sleepy wave, she waved back
“What are you doing awake” Yachi asked, plopping down next him and putting a leg up and leaving the other to dangle of, her eyes were a bit red from taking a few hits throughout the day but they weren’t noticeable thanks to the eye drops Hinata got her
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that” he asked with a smirk and an eyebrow raised, he always has a charismatic charm to him that make Yachi smile
“Ok how about this” she turned to face him “I’ll tell you why I’m awake if you tell me?” She smiled at him
Cute he thought “alright then you go first” he said crossing his arm leaning back
“Okok, usually when I can’t sleep I come out and take a walk or eat something” she said this while pointing to the vending machine a few feet away from them
“Hm, make sense, if I’m being honest it’s the same with me, except I don’t ’usually’ do this” he said giving her a look
She rolled her eyes at that while still smiling, Then, Nothing could have prepared her for when Kuroo sunddenly said
“you smoke to right?” He deadpanned
“Huh” Yachi said dumbfound also getting a small sense of Deja vu
“W-why would you think that” she laughed nervously
“You know you’re a terrible lier right?” He chuckled, he must have seen the panicked look on her face cause then he said “i only know because i do it to, don’t worry you’re not obvious about” he said, still smirking “although i think kenma know to just a heads up”
“Hold on, hold on, you smoke to?” She said still not over that small detail
“Of course it’s difficult to be a captain of a team full of energetic people, on top of that needing to get good grades” he said smiling slightly Thai time “I’m not proud of it but I need some way to cope you know?”
Yachi was staring at him intently during his whole explanation “Yeah I guess we’re kinda in the same boat” she said laughing dryly while leaning back on the bench similar to him “It’s part of the reason I started, the other part is for other day” she said while yawning
“You know you’re not alone right? I just-“ he cut him self of and paused to get his thoughts together “when I started I thought I was alone and no one would understand my struggles or why I do it”
he said while laughing bittersweet
“That was until I found out that Bokuto also did it and a few people knew about it, that when I realize I’m not alone” he said look at the sky now
Meanwhile Yachi was looking straight at him and smiled “thank you Kuroo, really” Kuroo looked back at her
“Oh yeah..” he said sheepishly while scratching the back of his neck “sorry I didn’t mean to trama dump on you, heh”
He said sheepishly
“No, no it’s ok it really helped me” she smiled
They say there in silence for a moment until Yachi clapped her hands getting his attention
“Well thai has been fun Captain but we have a team to run so we best we our rest” she said getting up and offering a hand
Kuroo looked up at her realizing how beautiful she looked in the night light, her brown eyes were shining, and her blonde damp hair made her look so relaxed and happy
He smiled and return and took her hand “yeah I guess you’re right” he yawned and smiled
As they stared waking they found Kenma and Kuroo sure was happy to confirm their suspicions
Kenma just gave a small smile to her then went back to rolling his eyes at Kuroo mumbling something about a “I told you so” Yachi smiled as she wished them good night going their separate ways
Yachi smiled to her self feeling like a bit lighter than before
