Chapter Text
Ludwig couldn't believe he had actually downloaded a dating app much less that it led to him standing here outside of a coffee shop, steps away from walking in to meet said person.
Since he and QT had broken up he wasn't sure how to meet other people, especially since most people he knew were friends with his ex-girlfriend and it just seemed wrong to try and talk to any of them. It was a little awkward talking to someone through a "blind date" app since he now was here only knowing he was looking for someone in a green shirt.
To be fair he wasn't exactly forthcoming with details about himself either, that was the whole point of using that specific app, the last thing he wanted to deal with was some ludbud matching with him, lying about knowing who he was until they met, and then kidnapping him or some shit.
Still, out of every possibility he didn't see this one coming. He spotted him as he walked inside, sitting at a corner table in a green shirt there was his date, and it was Aiden. He didn't even give Aiden time to see who had entered before he turned around and started walking back to his Vespa.
His mind started racing. All those late-night messages, the weeks of back and forth and bonding, and the other messages, ones that came later at night when he was feeling lonely and wanted someone to indulge with him and discuss his fantasies with. Conversations that Ludwig now realized were taking place with his once again roommate. He refused to let himself think of it right now, he could dwell later but now he needed a plan.
Plan
- Get on your Vespa
- Drive home
- Lock yourself in your room
- Have a crisis.
If nothing else it was a plan and that would have to do for now. So with no better ideas Ludwig got on his scooter and drove home.
He barely made it in the door before he was greeted by Nick.
"Hey man I thought you said you'd be a while, you forget something?" Nick asked as Ludwig closed the door behind him.
"Nah man plans ended up being canceled I'm just gonna go watch YouTube for a while in my room," Ludwig replied moving quickly past him, and before Nick could respond he was already in his room with the door shut.
Ludwig pulled out his phone as he sat on his bed only to find multiple messages from Aiden on the app asking where he was and if he was okay.
He sent back a vague apology about not being able to make it and something coming up last minute because even if this was weird it was still Aiden and he didn't deserve to be ghosted.
He found himself alone with his thoughts scrolling through his messages reading all the things he had said with the new context of all of it being Aiden. He found himself blushing and trying not to cringe at the possibility of his friend finding out these were his words.
A new message popped up from Aiden saying he hopes everything was okay and he'd still love to plan to meet up in the future.
Ludwig suddenly felt extremely guilty for not telling Aiden what was actually going on but how would he even go about that? Oh don't worry we'll be seeing each other real soon, as soon as you're home in fact! Ludwig immediately deleted the message that just sounded creepy as hell and Aiden would think he was being stalked or something.
He decided to do what should be done with all great problems and tossed his phone to his side to deal with it later.
Ludwig decided to try and think logically to work out the conflicting emotions now raging inside him, on one hand, he met a guy that he had stellar chemistry with, apparently not only with shared interests and sense of humour but sexually. On the other hand, it was Aiden. Sweet, stupid, cringe Aimen who he had been sexting for the better part of a month without knowing he was only a few walls away the entire time.
How was he supposed to react to this? How was he supposed to explain not showing up? Maybe Aiden would laugh when he found out about it being Ludwig and everything would go back to normal and they could just forget about it.
A part of him wasn't sure he wanted to forget about it.
