I love Pokémon, so I decided to get a part-time job

Chapter 2: Bulbasaur & Charmander

Summary:

"Huh... two Pokémon, really?"

When F got back from work, F checked the pc and there was a job offer mail. It was faster than I thought, but two from the beginning? F checked the client's profile just in case, it didn't seem like a scam. Client said they wanted me to take them to The Park because they had just come out of the egg and needed to get used to people.

It's nice coincidence the The Park has just been renovated.

Chapter Text

"Yes, Please leave it with me. I'll take good care of them. Yeah, yep, Thank you."

F talked to the client on the phone as F picked up Bulbasaur 'Vine' and Charmander 'Dell' from Pokémon day care. Rather than looking sad to be separated from their owner, both looked at me curiously. F was told that they are good at following instructions. Luckily, F's first assignment won't be too difficult.

Today's weather is Sunny Day! It's great day to hang out at The Park. When they arrived at The Park in a tauros taxi, both Pokémon looked happy. Technically, only vine was happy face, but F assumed that Dell was secretly pleased to see tail's fire grow.

"Come on, let's go to the picnic area!"

At first, the three of them walked at the same pace, but the farther they went, the faster the Vine sped up. And Dell was getting slower and slower, so I decided to yelled at Vine.

"Vine, Don't be so hasty."

Vine was so focused on walking that she didn't seem to hear F's voice, so F left Dell to walk her own and ran to catch Vine, but there was a thudding noise behind F that made F turn around.

"F, Fire-type Pokémon don't get heatstroke, I thought?!"

F screamed in panic and picked Dell up. Fire-type Pokémon usually have a high body temperature, but this was just burning. F freaked out, didn't know what to do.

Thankfully, Vine heard them and came to their side and somehow managed to calm F down. F sat down in the shadow of a nearby tree and rummaged the bag for something that might help. Since F couldn't splay Dell with water, F peeled some wiki berries in hopes of restoring her health. She seemed to have recovered enough so F let out a breath F didn't realize had been holding.

"It's kind of like heatstroke, but surely Fire-type Pokémon is immune to burns and that sort of things, so why...."

"...Oh! By any chance, What is your abilities? Vine is... Chlorophyll that gives speed boost on Sunny day, that's why you so fast. And Del is... Solar power. Get stronger, get sicker. Huh, apparently not all Fire-type Pokémon like sunny day."

*Sigh* "Why you didn't tell me that Sunny day is hard for you."

F could feel Del glaring at F.

"...Sorry, my fault for not doing research properly."

F had never looked at abilitied outside of the common ones, thinking they're only important in battle. *Sigh* What's done is done, so let's make up to them.

F rented a Pokémon Carriage from a shop near The Park to take Dell for a ride. It was made of fireproof material, so it was able to withstand the fire from Dell's tail. It was also hiding all her skin from the sun.

Then F put the harness on Vine. Vine was a little uncomfortable with the harness at first, but quickly got used to it, running around and jumping as far as the leash would allow.

"Ok, now go back to the picnic area!"

After that, there was no problems and F had a lovely time with two. Dell would hate F after all that, but as F was shaking Vine's whips for good-bye, Dell came up to F and patted F's knee as if to say good job. Sorry, if I ever get a another chance, I'll do my best really.

That was the end of the first assignment, with a lesson learned; Check Pokémon's abilities.
