“Today is the day,” Luo Binghe thought, as Shen Qingqiu ate bland, mushy congee. “Today I will reveal myself and make him pay. Who does this man think he is for…”
“LuoLuo,” the cultivator said. “Do you want some cuddles?”
Instead of carrying out his purpose and biting Shen Qingqiu's throat until his head was torn off, the demon wagged his tail and trotted close to him, resting his muzzle on the man's knees and letting himself be petted.
“Good puppy,” Shen Qingqiu praised him, going back to eating a congee that Luo Binghe would certainly have cooked a thousand times better.
Now you might ask yourself, what is the great Demonic Emperor doing pretending to be the pet of a random human cultivator?
The answer was simple: it was all Sha Hualing's fault.
She wanted to curse one of the women in the harem, and Luo Binghe had ended up in the middle of it, ending up stuck in the body of a pathetic hellhound, too small to be a threat and in constant danger for his life.
He had to escape the demon realm because, apparently, not everyone in his harem was happy with him, and it was safer for him elsewhere, at least until Mobei-jun puts things in order. And hopefully kill Sha Hualing.
In his aimless escape, he had been captured by some mediocre demonic hunters, who thought it would be a good idea to sell him to a human cultivator to make some money.
Everyone knew that humans used demonic monsters, and demons themselves, for demonstration lessons. Those traitors were betraying their own kind for a little money.
Luo Binghe decided that they would be the next to be killed by him when he returned to normalcy.
He was good at remembering, and no one was ever left without getting what they deserved.
His old Shizun would have been proud of him, too bad the Old Palace Master of Huan Hua Palace was stuck in the water prison, forgotten by everyone, even his own daughter, with a few less limbs and kept alive for Luo Binghe's personal fun.
This was how he had ended up in the possession of Shen Qingqiu, a scum human, a bastard without morals, a coward, an abuser of his own disciples, covered by the sect leader who had an obvious weakness for him (and after seeing him naked after a bath, Luo Binghe could understand Yue Qingyuan more).
Someone like that was certainly more than willing to abuse a pathetic hellhound for his sadistic pleasure.
That wasn't what happened.
“LuoLuo, you have to eat if you want to become big and strong.”
“LuoLuo, don’t growl at the head disciple, he just wanted to touch you.”
“LuoLuo, it's just a bath, it's not the end of the world.”
He had spent over a month with that man, and Shen Qingqiu had never laid his hands on him, except to cuddle him.
Luo Binghe wasn't a puppy! He was a dangerous, bloodthirsty killing machine! And if he wagged his tail for cuddles, well it was just a coincidence.
Shen Qingqiu was nothing like what he expected.
The most incredible thing was that he seemed to be his fan.
“Sect Leader we will not wage war on the demon emperor,” Luo Binghe heard him say at a meeting of Peak Lords that he had brought him to because he was worried about his health and feared that he would feel alone in the bamboo house. “He is not a threat to us.”
“He has reunited the demons and conquered Huan Hua Palace,” the sect leader told him, hoping to make him understand the danger of the situation.
“Well, it's not that the Old Palace Master didn't have it coming. He was obsessed with the emperor's mother, how do you think he treated her son? No, what he did to him was just the reversal of the injustices he had suffered."
“He may want to conquer the human world,” another Peak Lord said, the one who often came to Shen Qingqiu's house like a lovesick puppy to bring him the heads of the monsters he killed.
Pathetic attempts at courtship that always left him feeling weird and wanting to piss on his shoes.
“He won't attack us. “
“How can you be sure?”
Yeah, how are you sure?, Luo Binghe remembered thinking, perking up his ears.
He didn't deny that he had cherished the plan of conquering the human world as well, since he was already there, but the women of the harem were keeping him busy and Sha Hualing continued to give him problems, and therefore he had to put his plans aside for the moment.
“Because the only thing he wants is to enjoy his power. Now we are not his enemies. Why should we draw his wrath? He has ignored us until now. I say do the same and indeed, build good relationships with demons.”
The proposal had thrown the room into chaos, but Luo Binghe ignored everyone. Because it was the first time he wasn't described as a monster, and no one had ever defended him as passionately as Shen Qingqiu.
Maybe that was why he hadn't killed him yet for treating him like a common dog, because Shen Qingqiu respected him, wasn't afraid of him, but recognized his superiority as a fact.
He was a very strange man, and Luo Binghe had to keep him under control for a while longer.
An ally in the human world was always useful.
“It's a beautiful day, don't you think so, LuoLuo?” Shen Qingqiu asked, scratching behind the hellhound's ears.
Luo Binghe tried to remember who he was, that he had now also broken the curse and there was no reason to continue this farce, but his course betrayed him, arching in pleasure and wanting more.
That human was dangerous, very dangerous.
If he imagined Shen Qingqiu two or three times as his Empress, without any harem and without Sha Hualing to bother him, well, the dreams were destined to remain that. Dreams. Even when they were pleasant.
