Summary
What people tend to forget is that Charlie grew up practically on the reservation. His mother’s family lived on La Push growing up, making him one-eighth Quileute. And when his mother, an only child, moved off the rez to live with his father in nearby Forks, his grandmother often came to visit to help her daughter with the child-rearing process.
Part of those grandmotherly visits included a bedtime story to send him off to sleep with. But these stories weren’t just stories - they were legends and histories of their ancestors, their people.
He remembers the tales his grandmother used to tell him of the Cold Ones.
