POPE INNOCENTS PAPACY POST-CLAVE

I subscribe to Carlos canon that Innocent allows Lawrence to leave the Vatican and asks Bellini to remain as his Secretary of State. And then I believe Bellini eventually asks to leave, too, to join Lawrence (and then Sabbadin and O'Malley get promoted to their besties' previous positions).

Shamelessly stole the white sweats from The Young Pope. Tedesco 100% thrifts vintage Versace.

The pitch for this comic where Sabbadin teaches the new Pope the rules of chess: Benny being distracted during the chess game by his knight (Thomas) and bishop (Aldo) like, "Oh, I fear my bishop and knight are in love with each other but don’t know how to confess.” Sabbadin's like, "Oh yeah, they tend to do that.” Then Sabbadin asking, “Well, which piece do you think you are and what role do you play?" And he suggests to Vince that the Church is the king which makes Pope Innocent the queen (insert aside about how the rook is Tedesco for being a blunt force of nature, cleaving through pieces, moving wherever he wants, and razing the board), but Vince being like, "Oh, that’s funny!” (because he sees himself as the humble pawn who serves vs. the queen who protects.)

This is also my pitch for Benitez/Sabbadin, thank you for reading this manifesto.
