Work Text:

Hawks steps out of Dabi’s room, his feathers slightly ruffled, a mix of exhaustion and regret on his face. He mumbles to himself while adjusting his jacket. “This is gonna bite me in the ass one day. Hero of the year, my wing.”

Ochako, meanwhile, tiptoes out of Toga’s room, looking utterly disheveled, holding her hero suit crumpled in her arms. She freezes when she sees Hawks. “Hawks?!”- she exclaims horrified.

“Ochako? What the—what are you doing here?”- startled Hawks exclaims.

“I—I don’t know! I mean, I do! But I don’t! It’s not what it looks like!”

From behind her, Toga pokes her head out of the room, grinning ear to ear. “Good morning, Ochako! Did you sleep well? I know I did.”

Ochako turns beet red, waving her hands frantically.
“No! No sleeping happened! I mean—ugh, this is a disaster!” - she shouts.

Before either can explain further, a door at the end of the hallway creaks open, and Natsu0 steps out, adjusting his scarf. He’s muttering to himself until he sees the other two. His eyes widen. “...Why are you two here?”
Shigaraki appears behind him, looking utterly indifferent, scratching his neck lazily. “What’s with all the yelling? Some of us need sleep, you know.”

The three pairs stare at each other in stunned silence. Hawks sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Great. Just great. This is exactly how I wanted to start my day.”

Dabi’s door swings open, and he strides out shirtless, stretching nonchalantly. He stops when he sees the gathering, a wicked grin spreading across his face. “Well, well, well. Looks like the heroes are having a sleepover in our villain hideout. Isn’t that adorable?”

Ochako buries her face in her hands. Hawks glares at Dabi. “Oh, shut up. You’re not helping.”

Natsuo looks between Dabi and Hawks, putting two and two together. His eyes widen in disbelief. “Wait… don’t tell me…” (He points at Hawks, then at Dabi.) “Are you two—?”

Dabi smirks, throwing an arm around Hawks, who stiffens. “What can I say? Birds of a feather, right?”

Hawks groans, his face in his hands. “This is it. I’m going to die. My career is over. My life is over.”

Ochako, utterly baffled, gestures wildly at them. “You’re dating him? The guy who’s trying to burn the entire world down?!”

“I don’t think ‘dating’ is the right word, but sure, let’s go with that.” - hawks mutters.

Natsuo, still trying to process, turns to Dabi, his voice trembling. “You’re disgusting, you know that? Do you have any idea what you’ve done to people? To our family?”

The hallway goes silent. Dabi’s smirk falters slightly. Hawks looks up sharply, confused. “Wait… your family?”

Natsuo steps forward, his flames sparking in his fists. “Yeah. My family. Because this bastard isn’t just some villain—he’s my brother! Touya Todoroki!” - he says furiously.

Ochako gasps audibly, her jaw dropping. Hawks stumbles back, visibly shaken. “Nope. Nope. Nope. I am not emotionally prepared for this.” (He leans against the wall, muttering to himself.) “I’m sleeping with Endeavor’s dead son. I’m going to die. This is it. Just let the villains kill me now.”

Ochako, looking between Hawks and Dabi, nearly yells. “Wait—Endeavor’s son?! Dabi is Endeavor’s son?!” (She points at Natsu.) “And your brother?!”

Toga, gleefully observing the chaos, claps her hands. “I love family drama! Isn’t it fun, Ochako? Maybe we’re sisters or something too!”

Dabi sighs dramatically, stepping away from Hawks and throwing up his hands. “Congratulations, Natsuo. You’ve ruined the surprise. Guess the cat’s out of the bag now.”

Shigaraki, looking utterly unamused, scratches his neck again. “This is why I don’t let people stay overnight. Too much drama in the morning.”

The tension rises as Dabi turns to face Natsuo fully, his flames flickering. “You’ve got a lot to say, little bro. But let me ask you this—where were you when Dad let me burn? Where were any of you when I was lying in the ashes?!”

Natsuo’s flames flare up in response, and the hallway fills with heat. “Don’t turn this around on me! You think becoming a murderer makes you the victim?!”- he yells.

Hawks steps between them, wings spread. “Okay, let’s all calm down before someone burns this hideout to the ground. Please?” - he says desperately.

From down the hall, Kurogiri appears, holding a tray of tea. He surveys the chaos with an exhausted sigh. “Breakfast is ready. Please settle your differences elsewhere.”

The tension lingers, but everyone reluctantly disperses. Hawks slumps against the wall, muttering to himself. “I am so dead.”

Ochako looks at Toga, her expression filled with dread. “This never leaves the hallway. Ever.” Toga giggles. “Oh, don’t worry, Ochako. Secrets are safe with me. Until they’re not.”

As the heroes retreat, Dabi watches them leave, his smirk returning—but there’s a flicker of something deeper in his eyes. He glances at Natsu one last time. “See you at the family reunion, bro.”

Natsuo glares but doesn’t respond, storming off down the hall. The tension simmers as the chaos of the hallway fades into the silence of the hideout.
