Here’s the thing—regular weapons can’t injure him while he’s Phantom. They just phase right through him; it’s why his parents had gotten increasingly creative (and increasingly unhinged) about developing weapons that could hurt and kill him in all sorts of horrific ways.
(Molecule by molecule, his mother’s voice echoes in his head. Shut the fuck up, he echoes back.)
So, his first thought upon being stabbed is Ow, followed shortly thereafter by Why in the everloving fuck does a random thug on the streets of Gotham have an ecto weapon?

Danny thinks that Gotham would be a good place to lay low and disappear. Or at least it would be, if he had any impulse control.

Considering how many of the Bats and the Birds have died and come back to life, it was only a matter of time for some people interested in the afterlife to come poking around. The detectives can't seem to uncover any information about the mysterious white vans, however.
And they keep losing the mysterious boy who seems to be the one person in Gotham to know anything at all.

After his mother's revelation of his true heritage, Danny is a whirlpool of emotions. He becomes even more unsure about who or what he is. But he knows as long as he can keep that secret from his archenemy, things will be fine.
