Chapter Text
“Namgyu”
He rubbed his eyes, he felt barely awake. The heavy comforter kept him tucked well into place. Namgyu chose to ignore the voice.
“Namgyu, come on my boy get up.”
The voice was a little closer now. As much as he didn’t want too he didn’t want to keep Subong waiting.
“Yes?”
The bed dipped under the weight of Subong as he got closer to Namgyu. He smiled.
“Im glad you are up, do you want to get breakfast?” Subong asked.
He thought about it but laziness outruled any movement. His limbs felt strapped down to the bed. So Namgyu silently chuckled and shook his head.
It was genuinely peaceful for once this morning. After Namgyus ‘punishment’ Subong allowed him to sleep upstairs with him. As well as Subong finally started trusting Namgyu with other tasks, such as cooking.
It took Namgyu off guard for a second but he happily obligated. He hadn’t slept in a real bed in forever. And to be curled up beside another, living, heart beating human was so nice.
Namgyu often missed his old life with his friends and being able to go and do things. But here he was taken care of, Namgyu didn’t understand why he didn’t realize that sooner.
Subong loved him.
And Namgyu was being selfish for constantly denying him. So even now as they lay beside eachother he appreciates the gentleness of the moment. From the soft breaths of Subong, to the warmth he provides to him.
He just can’t help but admire him.
Namgyu just had to learn and no that he finally did life was good. Subong even said if he keeps this up they can go outside sometime. That had him ecstatic.
For now though, they will reside in the house, filled with memories.
Not always good memories, but they are still special.
They still make Namgyu’s heart flutter when he thinks of them. Life is much better now. Something in Namgyu just snapped, changed is more like it.
Subong really was all Namgyu needed.
Unlike Minsu, a coward, who couldn’t support all of his needs. Namgyu was the pinnacle of nutrients that Subong needed. He gave all his love, every second of the day.
All they needed were eachother.
Maybe at the time though all Namgyu needed was a hug.
He got an experience though, one he will never be able to get away from.
-------------------------------
Right now Namgyu was sat on the edge of the bathtub, the coldness of the bathroom air had him shivering. He watched as Subong looked through the bathroom drawers.
Namgyu ran his hair through his fingers. Feeling how thick it was at the top but as he reached towards the end his hair got thinned out. He really needed this trim.
“Finally, here we go.”
Namgyu turned his attention back over to Subong, who had scissors in hand. He came over and grabbed Namgyus hair pulling it back.
“And you are sure you can cut my hair right?” Namgyu was honestly unsure if he would have a chopped haircut at first.
This wasn’t even really his idea it all started when they were eating the other day. Namgyu had been getting frustrated by his hair. It kept almost falling into his soup by how long it was.
He always leaned over his food not wanting to spill it on his clothes. Also he was just not used to having such long hair.
So when Subong brought the idea up to cut it himself, Namgyu was on board with the idea.
Now he was having second thoughts.
“Yes I am sure I can cut your hair my boy, you just have to be still.”
Namgyu breathed a sigh and just let Subong take control, he really was happy to finally get this hair cut. It felt like weight being lifted off his shoulders.
A few snips here and there.
“How much do you want off?”
Namgyu actually wasn’t sure. He usually liked to keep it short but he knew Subong liked his hair longer.
“Could you cut it above my shoulders a little?”
If Subong had any objections he didn’t voice them.
It actually felt really nice to have someone cut his hair for once. Usually since he used to live alone he would do it himself. That ended up with one side longer with the other.
So to let Subong take it into his hands he felt comforted by the fact he would do something like this for him. Although Namgyu was still a little nervous he would mess it up.
Subong kept going at it for a while, at least he was taking his time.
“You know I have always really liked your long hair.”
“I know you do.”
“It really suits you.’
“Yeah I guess, its just difficult to deal with.”
“So then its kind of like you, huh?”
Subong laughed at his own joke.
“Im not difficult…”
Namgyu was always sensitive so being hurt by the joke was not new to him. It was a funny joke though he couldn’t help but admit.
These were the times Namgyu had felt so much love for Subong. When they could just enjoy themselves in each other's company.
Where they can joke and not take everything so serious.
Or maybe when they do things for each other. Like this haircut, Namgyu really, like he really need it. Subong was kind enough to provide.
Namgyu would miss this hair era a little though, because it reminded him of Subong.
After all, hair holds memories.
