Seible sat in front of his desk, the glow on his computer blinding his eyes within the cold and dark room. His eyes moved to the corner of the screen, glancing at the 2am time. He sighed, he had classes tomorrow, he should be asleep by now, not staying up and questioning his existence here at this ungodly fucking hour.
Why am I like this?
He mentally laughed at himself. He doesn’t have any unfinished projects he needs to stress about, his exams just ended not long ago and he even just got invited to a party by some peers. He didn’t have any reason to be feeling like this, but he did. The feeling of being useless and vulnerable, like his life suddenly has no purpose or meaning anymore… He hated it. He hated how he’s like this for no reason at all. He just wants to lay dead in bed and do nothing for the next few days whatsoever, but he doesn’t even have the energy to move.
He glanced at his phone just beside his laptop, where his last opened app was discord, chatting along to some plans he made together with his partners. The last message was Kaelix wishing them a good night’s rest 3 hours ago. It is indeed, not a good night for him today it seems. He reached out to his phone, dead eyes staring at the chat.
Should he…? It’s already late though…
Everyone should be asleep by now, they all have classes tomorrow after all. He continues to stare, his mind fighting whether he should bother them with such trivial matters as this or should he just deal with it and go to sleep instead. He sucked in a big breath, his fingers trembling as he slowly typed out each word one by one.
2.18 A.M.
Me
> Hey
> Is anyone awake?
He didn’t wait long when he got a reply back, he’s not surprised to see that it is Zeal. That man always liked to stay up late for some reason.
2.20 A.M.
Gin-chan
> Yeah I’m awake
> Why are you not sleeping yet?
Me
> I don’t know either tbh
> I don’t feel like doing anything
He waited again. He saw Zeal typing for a moment before it disappeared in front of his view. Not long after he also saw Kaelix typing but same as Zeal, he also stopped after a while. He laughed at himself once again, what am I doing? Why am I worrying them like this? This isn’t like me at all. He felt awful, he didn’t mean to make them uncomfortable like this. He wished he could just say “Can you guys come over? I want to be with you all”, but not in the middle of the night like this where they supposedly should be sleeping. They already have their own worries to deal with, he didn’t need to add more stress onto it. Seible long pressed on his message, hoping to delete them and brush it off like nothing happened.
He was about to press delete when a new message popped up. This time though, it’s by Freodore.
2.35 A.M.
Furi-chan
> Open the door
> We’re outside
What?
He hurriedly jumped out of his chair, opening his bedroom door quietly but quickly walking to the front door. He opened it, uncaring of how messy his hair is and how his overall looks feels dead and pale. Seible didn’t know how to feel when he saw three familiar faces outside of his dorm room. Neither of them spoke for a moment, the three of them quietly observed the brunette while Seible was trying to gather his thoughts without breaking down in their arms.
“Hey” Freo spoke first, the gentle and soft tone of his voice reminds him as if he’s talking to a newborn baby.
“Hey..” Seible replied by instinct.
“Can we come in?”
“Y-yea…”
He stepped aside so they could enter his small dorm that’s at most suitable for 2 people to live in. Seible glanced at their outfits, he can see Kaelix and Zeal wearing a jacket outside of their pajamas, Kaelix’s blue-yellow banana and monkey PJs are just that easy to spot despite the jacket covering it. Zeal’s only wearing simple plain dark green satin PJs that he remembers one of them getting for his birthday. Freodore, although not in his PJs, only threw on a simple grey T-shirt and sweatpants. He wondered if they rushed out of their dorm just to come find him, it did make his heart feel a little better knowing that.
“Did the three of you plan to come look for me?” He laughed, trying to sound lighthearted but the lump in his throat says otherwise.
“Not really” Zeal reached for his face, thumb gently brushing over his eyebags before caressing it. He didn’t hide his smile when Seible leaned into his touch. “We didn’t plan it, just somehow met down the hallway while coming here”
“Great minds think alike~” Kaelix added.
Seible giggled. His heart is feeling better already but the negative thoughts still remain. He can feel another hand on his other cheek, cupping his face closer to them.
“God, you look awful”
“Thanks for stating the obvious K-chan…”
Kaelix placed his hand on his forehead before placing it on his own, “At least you’re not sick, we’d probably be more worried”
Seible felt his heart sink again, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to make you all worried…”
He felt Zeal pressing a gentle kiss on top of his forehead between his eyebrows that made his breath hitch, unknowingly melting under his light touches before he had to pull away, his hands still cupping his cheeks like he’s holding a tiny kitty between his palms.
“Kaelix didn’t mean it like that. But we were a bit concerned so we came to check on you” His hands left his face before it reappeared on his waist, pulling him closer to his chest. “How are you feeling now?”
“Mmm.. better I guess. Now that you’re all here”
Zeal chuckled while Kaelix softly played with his messy hair, “Is that so?”
“It’s ready, bring him in” Freo came out of his room while announcing, he didn’t even notice when he went into his bedroom.
“Ready for wha?!”
A yelp can be heard when Kaelix suddenly sweeps Seible off his feet, carrying him like how a prince would carry a princess. He could hear the three of them laughing at his confusion while they all entered the tiny room. His room is technically tidy, save for his messy study desk, but clean overall. His kitty puppy print blanket spread out neatly on his bed, waiting for him to snuggle under the warmth. And they took that seriously when Kaelix placed him on the edge of the blanket, flashing a smile with some hints of mischievousness at Seible before he rolled him till the end, letting him bundle under the blankets like a burrito. He didn’t even have the chance to question what was happening when he was tackled by two pairs of arms hugging him like he’s some sort of plushy you won at a carnival, which to be fair, he’s worth way more than that.
“Oh my gosh, you’re so adorable like this Seible. I could hug you all day!” Kaelix cuddled closer behind him, hiding his face in his hair taking in the flora smell of his shampoo. Freo didn’t say anything, opting to just hug him and let his actions do the talking.
“You three sleep well”
“Are you not sleeping with us?” Freo turned back at him.
“The bed’s too small for all of us” He looked at the three laying on the small bed, they already took up 80% of the bed. It would be a tight squeeze if he were to sleep with them even though he wants to. He turned around, wanting to switch off the lights before returning to his own room–
“Stay” Seible softly whispered, he thought Zeal wouldn’t have heard it with how soft it was but he knew he did when the taller male turned around to look at him. Maybe he’s greedy, or maybe he just didn’t want anyone to be left out, he finds himself doing something Kaelix usually does most. “Please..?”
He looked at him with an expression that Seible couldn’t really read with his sleepy eyes. It only went on for like 10 seconds but it somehow felt like 10 minutes to him. He was fighting off the sleepiness in his eyes, Kaelix cuddling closer to him does not help at all.
“There’s still some room for you Jii-san~ You’re gonna make Seible cry if you leave” Kaelix smiled at him cheekily. Freo even scooted to make some more room for Zeal. He would be heartless to reject his partners like that, so he climbed in, hands immediately finding their way around Freo’s waist as he snuggled closer. It’s definitely a tight squeeze but it’s either that or they leave their boyfriend sad and alone in the night, the choice is obvious isn’t it?
Seible felt another kiss being pressed lightly on the top of his head behind him, “Rest, Seible. We’re here with you”
Such simple words, yet those same words calmed him down so easily. He stopped fighting when his eyelids threatened to close so badly, letting the comfort and warmth around him sink in, allowing his body to finally relax within their hold. Seible hears someone, or all of them, mumble a good night to him before he eventually passes out, his mind at ease with the people he loves most by his side.

“I want to pinch his cheeks…”
“You’ll wake him up though”
“But it looks so squishy”
Freo placed his hand on Zeal, stopping him from doing whatever he thought about doing to Seible. The boy in question still had his eyes closed, his face snuggled into the blankets while leaning into Kaelix’s hold like a baby seeking comfort. Not that Kaelix minded though, he seemed to enjoy cuddling with the sleeping boy. All of them besides Seible already woke up not long ago but neither of them left the bed, choosing to laze around and wait for him to wake up instead.
“Are we skipping class today?” Zeal asked, his head resting just on top of Freo.
Freo glanced at the window outside, he couldn’t tell time by looking at the sun but even he knew that it’s way too late to go to class now and still be punctual. “If you could run faster than a train could then go ahead”
“Damn, FuriFuri skipping class? You don’t see that everyday” Kaelix softly whispered.
He scoffed playfully. Truthfully he was sleeping in his own room when his phone suddenly vibrated because of the discord chat, now usually he wouldn’t check it late at night but something in the corner of his brain told him to open his phone. He was glad he did. The minute he saw Seible’s message, he knew he wasn't really okay. There was no playfulness or any Seible energy within those texts which is very unlike him. You could argue maybe he’s just being serious for once but they knew their boyfriend down to the bone. He changed into a more casual fit before dashing out his room, checking on him wouldn’t hurt , he thought back then. And, well, the rest is history.
“Mmm…”
They froze when the brunette stirred awake, blue eyes slowly fluttered open before he closed it again due to the sunlight shining down on them.
“Good morning Seible~” “Did you sleep well?” “Hello”
Seible giggled at the three of them speaking at once, “Morning evernyan”
Freo gave him a small peck on his nose, which made Seible blushed. “Are you feeling okay now?”
“Oh..” He nearly forgot about last night, “Yeah.. sorry about that”
“Nooooo, don’t feel sorry!” Kaelix hugged him tighter, “At least you feel better now”
Seible nodded within the blankets, “Yeah… Thank you guys… for accompanying me. Even though it was midnight”
“Why so formal Seible? You know you would do this for any of us too” Freo and Kaelix nodded at Zeal’s words. “Besides, we’re happy you’re relying on us”
“Exactly” Freo adds on, “You are our boyfriend. If we’re not cheering you up, we don’t have much rights to call ourselves that”
“Yeah~ We love you Seible~ Never ever ever forget that!”
Ah…
He felt like crying, no scratch that there's already a tear that’s blurring his sight. Each time when he feels like everything is hopeless, he is reminded again and again how loved he truly is, especially around them. He would always make sure his love is known to his partners, he likes seeing their smiles. Making them happy and loved is his number 1 priority. Yet it feels different when he’s the one receiving it, but he’s happy nonetheless.
“I love you guys too” He sniffed.
He looked at them with a smile, a smile that’s much softer than usual. He loved every moment when he’s with them. He loves how Kaelix is wrapping his hands around his waist with firm yet light touches, he craves for the touches Freo gave by intertwining their fingers together with his hand that somehow found its way out of the blanket, he adores Zeal for looking at him with those gentle yet loving gazes. Everything fits right into place perfectly when he’s with them, and he couldn’t be more grateful for that.
The four of them laid together a little longer on the bed, embracing onto each other comfortably. Although none of them are doing anything productive, Seible couldn’t care less about it anymore. As long as they’re still with him, that’s all that really matters to him.
