Alastor arrived at Rosie’s emporium for lunch with two guests in tow! He was accompanied by Lucifer who turned out to be the most entertaining person in the hotel and the only one besides himself who would eat sinner meat, been around as long as him and you’d try’d everything he supposed, (he also happened to be his newly acquired boyfriend but that was a detail only they and Rosie needed to know for now) as well as their daughter Charlie!(wait when did she become their daughter? Another concerning thought for another time) Who agreed to try blood tea and maybe sinner meat for the first time as a kind of trust exercise! (He was honestly quite shocked by her determination and the fact she hadn’t backed out) this might actually be the most they’d ever had in attendance at one of their weekly lunches!
After a quick round of introductions and some explanations for Rosie the four were seated at a private table in the back of her shop
“Charlie dear as this is your first time practicing in these sorts of activities, we are not necessarily excpecting a positive reaction from you and will not be offended if this type of cuisine is not to your taste or dosen’t sit well with your stomach” Alastor assured
“Don’t worry princess, I’ve picked a variety of blood tea for you that’s mixed with other flavors, we’ll start you off with that and I’ll get you something stronger if that’s not to bad and you think you can handle it” Rosie beamed before heading to get said tea.
“You’ll be fine Char-Char, I’m sure Rosie will take good care of you and it’s really not that bad once you get used to it” Lucifer encouraged
Charlie gulped and nodded her head, if they could here her whispering things about trust and leadership they ignored it for her sake
After a few minutes and some idle chatter latter Rosie came back with their tea!
Everyone began to drink their tea as Charlie started down at her cup, with a few calming breaths she slowly lifted it to her lips, closed her eyes and took the first sip…
Charlie waited for the tea to leave an after taste, the liquid to dissagree with her stomach or the guilt to start eating her alive
However when after a monoment nothing happened she slowly opened her eyes again to find the others having a casual conversation and drinking their tea, having silently decided it was best to leave her be and not stare.
Seeing that she hadn’t given any sort of a reaction yet but seemed to have calmed down Alastor began “Charlie dear, be honest how was it, none of us will be hurt if you didn’t like it”
Hmmm Charlie thought she honestly wasn’t sure what she thought of it she kind of was excpecting to feel more about it to be honest
Still rather unsure Charlie said” it uh wasn’t that bad… I don’t really know what I was expecting… something a lot more unpleasant I guess… but that wasn’t really anything it wasn’t like particularly good but I uh didn’t hate it… it kind of just tasted like… normal tea with a metallic aftertaste?”
“Hmmm… Interesting” responded Alastor, he always felt that while the particular blend Rosie had served her was the mildest it seemed to have an oddly strong metallic after taste, it was the main give away if it’s less conventional ingredients, but if anything he was more intrigued that she hadn’t out right hated it
After some more conversation and a few more cups of tea (Charlie only had the one blood tea, she didn’t mind the taste and was willing to finish it but still felt a bit weird about it, the next too however were regular floral teas) the 3 departed Rosie’s and headed back to the hotel!
Alastor didn’t even indulge in any sinner meat this visit, the older three had decided not to on this first visit in hopes it would remain a positive experience for Charlie and that she may return in the future… the one silver lining to that being that as far as Vaggie was aware Alastor and Charlie had simply been escorting Lucifer to meet Rosie and introduce the two so he could thank her for her assistance in the extermination, which he did do but was not the focus of the trip… Charlie could barely work up the courage to try blood tea today, she hadn’t needed her girlfriend’s opinion to potentially make her anxiety worse, and Alastor certainly planned to use that to his advantage…
