Chapter Text

hi. recently read one of your articles about me. not impressed.
Spotted recently stumbling from a local bar in LA was Minho Park, only hours after news broke that his previously iron-clad contract with Dior had fallen through. Minho was hagged and belligerent, swearing at passersby. Is it any wonder his time with the esteemed fashion house is at an end?
for your information I don't like people spreading lies about me. keep me out of your bs articles.

Mr Park,
I'm sorry to hear that my piece has offended you. However, I would hardly call it an article; a nutshell paragraph, or "nut graph", perhaps.
I should think that it's my job as a journalist to report on news, and unfortunately for you, that incident certainly qualified as news. If you would like to stay out of my work, might I suggest addressing your own behaviour first?
Respectfully,
Newt Isaacs

I'm not saying what I did was right. all I'm saying is you got the bit about why I was dropped wrong. don't lie about me in magazines and think I won't come after you for it. for your information the contract thing had NOTHING to do with how messy I get on nights out.
also don't patronize me.

Mr Park,
If my information was incorrect, then I apologise. I wrote my piece based on the information I had access to, from multiple sources. If you would like me to amend my statement, I would be quite happy to, should you provide me with the correct information to do so.
May I suggest a more formal interview? That way I can hear the words directly from you, rather than potentially garbled by the rumour mill.
I also don't intend to patronise, though perhaps that's more an issue of your reading comprehension than my tone.
Regards,
Newt Isaacs

as if I'd do a proper interview with you. youd definitely twist my words. and your still being patronizing.
what ACTUALLY happened with Dior was they wanted someone with a partner to represent the brand. I broke up with my ex girlfriend six weeks ago and they dumped me when they found out. they want that "I'm stable with a career and good home life" kind of bs. as if it's even got anything to do with the job!! the point of modelling is to look good.
anyway now you know. don't write any more bs about me.

Minho,
Thank you for the clarification. While I understand your frustration, a brand knows what they want as representation and will readily cut off anyone they think no longer satisfies that goal. I'm certainly not saying I agree with their decision, but it's the unfortunate truth of the industry.
It's a shame we couldn't have met in person. I think we could have had fun.

what is this
Minho Park Unfairly Dropped?
According to a reputable source, Dior dropping Minho Park from their advertising had nothing to do with his drinking habits and everything to do with his personal life. The source claims that Dior were looking for someone with a "good home life", and Minho's semi-recent split from longtime artist girlfriend Brenda Hernandez no longer made him a suitable fit.
When asked about the split, Brenda stated that the couple "realised (they) were more like siblings than partners, so Minho ended it". She went on to say that the split was amicable and they remain friends.
For most, work and personal matters are kept distinctly separate, and Dior's decision apparently based on Minho's private life seems to cross that line. Should companies or workplaces really base one's employment on their relationship status?
Dior is yet to respond to requests for a statement.
I. wasn't expecting you to write anything else. and this is. nice?
thank you?
also are you flirting with me???

Minho,
I feel that I should point out I'm not evil. I report facts as they are presented to me. Despite my current published works, I prefer "proper" journalism over gossip columns, but these seem to be the easiest to sell at the moment.
To answer your question; yes, I am flirting with you. As a journalist, I'd like to bring your attention to three facts;
- You're a very attractive man.
- You're single.
- There has been a poster of you from your Calvin Klein campaign on my wall for the past eight months.
Do with these as you will.
Regards,
Newt

eight months is a long time to be staring at a poster. I looked you up on your website and you don't look too bad yourself. maybe we should do a shoot together sometime.
or we could just get a drink. Jorge's at 6?

Minho,
You're on. See you at six. I'll even do my hair for you.
