Summary
It is well known that a man with a handsome fortune is bound to look for a wife. However, it is a mystery to the people of Jericho for a woman to come into their town, with a greater fortune than any man they know refuse all those who ask for her hand.
Wednesday Addams was viewed as too proud and above to be pleased. Her fortunes were unable to save her from the whispering campaign of the town about her manners. She does not care and does not mind her popularity being tied to dirt.
Still, it appears to the townspeople that Wednesday Addams is only concerned and affected by one person—Miss Enid Sinclair.

I am not used to this type of language, so it was slightly off-putting for me to consume, however, once the story progresses and Wednesday’s interactions become more bold, it certainly starts becoming quite nice.
