Summary:

As he walked past the deli once more, he saw a head of familiarly blue hair. The man spoke sweetly to the cashier as she cut him up a slab of meat. Until he turned to the side—revealing a sparkling pair of fangs that is.

Avid froze.

100 years after the events of Oakhurst, Scott and Avid run into each other

Notes:

UH SO THIS IS MY FIRST FANFICTION THAT I'M ACTUALLY RELEASING
Now I am in no way shape or form a good writer but if you do for some reason enjoy this fic lemme know

Episode six left me STARVING for more aviscott crumbs so the CEO of aviscott (me duh) took it upon themselves to write one

I will also probably end up updating the chapter before I make a second one because obviously.
Check my twt [Here:https://x.com/ZayneLoves_Yuri] for when I update or add another chapter.
This may end up having angst, probably abt Avid and his partner (who was his sister in this universe (I havent seen Avids pov so idk if canonically they were romantic partners))

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Never thought I'd see him again

Chapter Text

It’d been what, 100 years since Avid was turned? Goodness he may have lost count.

Within that surprisingly short amount of time for a vampire, Oakhurst had become a bustling city filled with life. Human life.

Much to Avids dismay—Scott's castle remain untouched upon that cliff. The giant building was treated like that house on the end of the street that nobody wants to get close to because there's rumours that its haunted.

He remembered that man clear as day. How could he ever forget a man he hated with such passion. A passion that could never be associated with a feeling of hatred.

He wondered if Scott remembered him. What about Pyro, Owen, Shelby? Did he remember them or are they nothing more than fleeting moments in the vampires memory?

Avid strolled the grocers endless isles knowing he’d never get anything more than meat. That was his fate after all. Cursed to a life of vampirism. And while he did technically ask for it—he didn’t enjoy it. Hated it even.

As he walked past the deli once more, he saw a head of familiarly blue hair. The man spoke sweetly to the cashier as she cut him up a slab of meat. The man was just in a hoodie and sweatpants—nothing even close to the things Avid remembered Scott wearing so maybe the blue haired man wasn’t the vampire he was thinking of...

Until he turned to the side—revealing a sparkling pair of fangs that is.

Avid froze.

That’s Scott. The vampire thought to himself as he watched the other walk to the registers.

What is he doing here? Avid didn’t think he ever left his castle, didn’t he have farms for animals? Is he here to scope out the area for humans to eat? Avids palms ran sweaty as his mind conjured up a hundred different crimes Scott could be here to commit.

It didn’t cross his mind even once that Scott could just be there to buy groceries just like Avid was. No, why would an all powerful vampire that could enslave humanity at any given moment just go to the grocery store?

Wait. Scott cant enslave humanity—what is going on in Avids head right now?

If he wasn’t there to try and take over Oakhurst again, or whatever Scott did before his 600 year slumber. What was he there for?

Once he finally awoke from his thoughts, the blue haired vampire was walking out with his cart of God knows what. All that Avid could focus on was the fact that Scott of all people was in the same shopping centre as him—at the same time no less.

Without so much as a second thought, Avid abandoned his cart in the middle of the shop and ran after Scott. He ran after the man who had no clue he was being chased all the way down to the underground parking lot. Just as he thought he caught up to the fellow vampire, he was gone in a flash and a few flying bats.

Avid cursed under the little amount of breath he had left. In his horrid attempt at catching his breath however, he somehow didn’t notice the bat that had now perched itself upon the vamp's shoulder. He only noticed when he heard a giggle followed by a condescending “Hi there” from the bat.

Avid screeched—the sharp noise piercing through the thick underground air.

“Goodness, you’re so unnecessarily loud!” Scott chirped at him as he flew off the other vampires shoulder and returned to his larger form. He planted his feet softly on the ground before looking down at avid once more. “Miss me?” Was all he said—his voice laced with that aloof tone Avid despised. Or- thought he despised.

“Oh don’t get ahead of yourself Scott.” Avid croaked back before continuing to wheeze.

When the vampire had finally managed to catch his breath, much to his annoyance, the other had already disappeared. Cart and all unlike Avids things still sitting with the toilet paper.
