There was a dramatic pause and Rumi was just about ready to whip out her phone and look it up herself before Zoey continued. “The hat rule used to just mean basic etiquette for wearing a stetson but now it basically means ‘if you wear a cowboy hat, you have to ride the cowboy. Rumi blinked slowly, her brain not fully connecting or short-circuiting. She wasn’t sure which one, “I’m sorry…what?”
Zoey rolled her eyes and laughed.
“It means Mira just told every person in this arena to back the fuck off because you’re hers.”
