Summary:

Daichi sighs as he looks down at his phone, rubbing one of his eyes with his free hand.
‘This is a bad idea..’
Yet he lets a small evil chuckle leave his mouth at this “bad idea” of his.

He doesn’t know when it popped up in his head, but it’s been plaguing him for the past few days. “What If’s” running around his mind like chickens without heads. Like mouses when the cats come home. Like when the “dumb quartet” hears him coming from a mile away.
He lets the pro’s and con’s argue against each other in his mind, tiring themselves out with the effort to keep up with each other. Neither has won their case just yet, they’ve been going at it for a few days now.

And suddenly, just when he’s getting tired, the side of the pro’s come up with an earthshattering argument. Effectively shutting up the con’s.

The grin on his face only widens at that.

Chapter 1: Start of Captaincy Circle

Bokuto Koutarou: I've had a hard time making real friends in the past. Has always been a problem.  

Bokuto Koutarou: Lot's of people like to tell me i'm “too loud”, “annoying” or just “dramatic”. It has always been something i've struggled with.  

Bokuto Koutarou: My family is just like me: loud, expressive, affectionate. So, it never really stuck to me that it's not really "normal” to express yourself the way I do.  

Bokuto Koutarou: That was until middle school rolled around and others quickly made that clear to me.  

Kuroo Tetsuro: I don't think I like where this is going... just saying...

Bokuto Koutarou: I never been bullied, if that's what you guys are implying.

Bokuto Koutarou: My teammates had this really annoying habit of not showing up to practice. Because “they couldn't stand me".  

Sawamura Daichi: I'd say they just couldn't keep up with you. And they chickened out of admitting that or working harder.

Bokuto Koutarou: So, I ended up all alone during extra runs or practice. It was... lonely to say the least about it 

Bokuto Koutarou: The things that were said earlier made me think that this team might get fed up with me too, and I'll be all alone again... 

Bokuto Koutarou: Though that's irrational. I suppose it's my first fight- or flight instinct 

Bokuto Koutarou: I'd hate to end up alone again. Especially now I know what it's like to feel accepted...  

Kuroo Tetsuro: And I'm sure they won't leave you like that. Your team absolutely adores you (at least that's how I see it).  

Masaki Gora: Yeah, I agree. What i've said earlier was a fit of jaloursy, maybe, looking back at it.  

Masaki Gora: Your team listens to you really well and even go as far as do extra practice with you, even when they're tired.  

Masaki Gora: I wish that was my team hahaha 

Sawamura Daichi: Exactly.  

Sawamura Daichi: Besides, I'm pretty sure your setter, Akaashi, respects and looks up to you like a lot  

Kuroo Tetsuro: Hell yeah, he does 

Kuroo Tetsuro: You didn't hear it from me, but Kenma's told me that he told him that “you're about the best ace he's known”.  

Kuroo Tetsuro: That's a high praise coming from Akaashi, if I know it.

Kuroo Tetsuro: So, I'm pretty sure he did.

Oikawa Tooru: I know I'm again the one to start the conversation (it's 11 pm). But i've been processing our last conversation for about a week now and I need to air my own business. It's eating me alive over here.  

Oikawa Tooru: There's this one underclassman I have; I call him Maddog-chan, who's back on the team after a few weeks after getting suspended for fighting a group of third years.  

Oikawa Tooru: Now, there's nothing wrong with maddog, but he's really against everything I'm saying 

Oikawa Tooru: And it's especially me in particular.

Oikawa Tooru: And I think it's getting to me.  

Oikawa Tooru: Like i'm lying in bed awake at God knows what hour, thinking about my abilities as a captain. And It's annoying (and painful) as hell.  

Oikawa Tooru: Realistically, I'm a great captain. Pretty much my whole team tells me so. But his defiance is really rubbing me in the wrong way. Like i'm missing something and it's my fault for doing so.

Oikawa Tooru: I just saw the notification lit up from my phone

Oikawa Tooru: SOMEBODY FELL ONTO A DOOR??

Yuzuru Komaki: So we checked for injuries, obviously.

Yuzuru Komaki: And at first, nothing seemed wrong. He was laughing it off like normal and said he could still play

Yuzuru Komaki: But after around 10 minutes I noticed he didn’t put as much pressure on his left leg as he would normally

Kuroo Tetsuro: Not his leg…

Yuzuru Komaki: so we went to the school nurse to check it out

Yuzuru Komaki: she was luckily still on school grounds btw, normally she wouldn’t have been  

Yuzuru Komaki: And as it turns out, he twisted one of his muscles a bit too much

Yuzuru Komaki: so now he has to sit out for a day or two to let it cool down.

Sawamura Daichi: Ouch…
