Harry Meets The First Avenger

Harry watched the man be paraded across the stage, blonde haired, blue eyed, all american ‘hero’. He looked ridiculous but that was what America needed in this time of war. He already knew the outcome, well, if this universe was the same as his original. He still wasn’t sure how he had gotten here. He remembered going to sleep, a long sleep. Having seen most of his family and friends age and die, their children age and die. It had worn him out. So he had decided to sleep. It was in that sleep that something happened. Some magical phenomenon he couldn’t explain and he had landed smack dab in a new universe.

He only knew that because, well it had to be didn’t it. He was in some sort of Alternate Universe, where witches and wizards didn’t exist. Magic didn’t exist, not that he had found anyway. He continued to watch the celebration before retiring to one of the medic tents. He had enlisted merely to create an identity for himself. A little magic, a little suggestion, and here he was Hadrian Black, refuge here to fight the war as a medic.

He worked through what he could for the day before retiring to the canteen grabbing his food and looking around. Ah, their golden boy hero was sitting alone. He sighed, knowing the feeling of all those expectations. He walked over and sat next to him, “Tough day?”

The man looked at him and gave a smile, “Was I that obvious?”

“Nah, I'm Harry by the way.”

“Rogers, Steve Rogers.”

“Steve, an interesting name for America’s new shiny shield.”

He shrugged, “I didn’t exactly name myself.”

Harry laughed, “It’s a good name. To the point though, are you alright?”

“It’s a lot to process and accept.”

Green eyes looked at him, “It will get better. You just have to find your place. You're just getting your feet under you. I think you have a great future ahead of you.”

“Thanks kid.”

Harry shook his head and went back to eating his food.

Harry Meets A Snarky Avenger

Harry yelped when something smashed into the ground behind him, dirt spraying as he turned, wand glowing at the ready. His garden was torn up and in shambles as he slowly came through his back door to see what had happened. A red and yellow armored man crashed out in the yard. The suit seemed to be torn into. Large claw marks and burns littering the suit.

He walked forward, wand held steady as he looked down at the face of a man he had seen before. On the news, just about every day. Tony Stark, Iron Man. Avenger. It wasn’t the first Avenger he had helped. Probably wouldn’t be his last. A quick spell and he lifted the man and moved him into the house and settled him on the couch. Another to rid the suit off him and one more to get a diagnostic on him. Concussion, broken ribs, bruising, the claw marks, burns. This man had been through the ringer. He wondered where the fight was and if he had won and crashed here after, or if the assailant was still at large.

Regardless he wouldn’t leave the man injured. He had long taken a pact as a healer and this was just another patient. Even if he had long retired. It was hard to be a magical healer in a different time line that he still wasn’t sure how he ended up at. He took a few deep breaths and began to weave the magic slowly. Focussing first on the bleeding wounds. The broken bones he would use a potion for, the same with the bruising. He was about half way down with cleaning the man up when he began to stir.

Brown eyes opened slowly and the man groaned. Sharp eyes quickly taking in his surroundings. His body jerked as he tried to sit up, the pale hand holding him down.

“Don’t move, I am still working on healing you.” The voice was soft and calm.

“Healing? That's nice. Uhm, quick question. Who are you?”

Harry laughed softly, “You're just the same in real life as on the TV. I am Harry. A healer. You fell in my back yard. Destroyed my garden by the way.”

“Sorry about that, I ran out of juice after the fight.”

“It’s fine, you can write me a check.” The warm hand guided him back down and the warm sensation continued. He could feel the pain dissolving away.

“So uh, healer? You a mutant?”

“No, I am not like your mutants. Easy Mr. Stark, you can sit up slowly. I have a couple things I need you to drink to help you heal. Then you will need to eat and rest.”

“I’m not a big fan of taking weird drinks from people.”

Harry laughed, “Well, you can drink it like I tell you to, or I can immobilize you and force you to drink it.” he wiggled the first potion, “your choice.”

A manicured brow rose, “Immobilize me? You're into that kind of stuff?” He took the drink though and swigged it down, his face twisting, “That tastes awful.”

The healer nodded and handed him the second, “This one's worse.”

“Great.” He swigged that down too.

Harry nodded and took the vials tossing them into a bin, “The second potion is going to make you feel achey. That's your bones mending themselves. The first potion is to help you sleep. I gave you one that eases you into it more than puts you out. You should eat something before sleeping. I have a pot of stew going. Let me go get you a bowl.”

Tony watched the man walk away before looking around. The home was simple, with no photos on the wall, cream colored walls and dark wood accents. It was homey. The furniture lived in and was comfortable. Nothing like an evil lair or anything that would seem odd. He looked up in time to see the man coming back. He was slim, pale, with curly dark hair and the brightest green eyes he had ever seen on a person before. He took the bowl, “Uh, thanks. So what’s your name kid?”

Green eyes sparkled as he sat down, “I am older than you, and you can call me Harry.”

“You're older than me? That is one hell of a baby face.”

He shrugged, “Things happen. Eat, you will start getting tired soon.” then took a bite of his own stew and turned on the TV. Straight to the news where they were broadcasting his latest fight. It showed him getting his ass kicked and then somehow still winning, “Nice save. But your moves are sloppy.”

Tony grunted, “It was a bad match up.”

“And your team mates didn’t want to help?”

“We all have our own things going on. Not going to bother them over an opponent I can handle.”

Harry shrugged and continued to eat. But Tony was starting to feel the effects of whatever it was that he had drunk. He ate what he could before setting the bowl down and no sooner had he rested his head that he was out like a light.

Green eyes watched him curiously before smiling and grabbing the bowl, a whispered spell and his things began to get packed up into a single suitcase. It was time to pick up and move again. He couldn’t stay here when one of them knew where he was. He made sure the other was tucked in and comfortable before he checked the place one last time and a single crack of sound, and he was gone.

Harry Meets A Godly Avenger

Harry laughed brightly as he clanked the large mug against the equally large one, “You sir, are an interesting fellow.”

The blonde god gave a bellowing laugh before draining the mug and slamming it on the table, “and you little wizard can hold your liquor!”

Green eyes sparkled, “Comes with my particular talents.”

The man clapped him on the back, “So you are a healer yes? Welcome to Azgard! Have you come to see my brother?”

Harry nodded, “I was asked to come and see him by your Mother. She thinks the staff did something to him.”

Thor nodded, “I think so too. My brother was never so violent before. Ambitious, mischievous, yes but not murderous. I am glad you are willing to see him.”

The wizard closed his eyes, “Though, I am still curious on how your Mother found me.”

“Mother knows a good many things. Magic is her ability as well.”

Harry snorted, “and kidnapping people with a bright beam of light is certainly a way to do it. I puked all over her shoes.”

Thor laughed even louder and clapped him on the back, “I assure you Mother has had many such moments before. Come, let us see my brother.”

He set the mug to the side and stood, sliding from the tall seat, these Asgardians didn’t know what the words vertically challenged meant. He followed the large man down along the corridors of the palace and then down the long steps. Gilded gold and heavily guarded. They came to a large white room with a glass like front to see within the cell. The room was half destroyed and the man leaning against the wall looked out of it. His hair was stringy, greasy; eyes staring at nothing.

Thor knocked on the glass, “Brother, you have a visitor.”

The man sneered at the blonde, “Oh? And what does this visitor have to say?” Sharp blue eyes looking towards the young wizard. They peered at him before his eyes widened and he tilted his head, “You…”

Harry frowned, “Me?”

Loki stood and walked to the edge and pressed a hand against the glass, “I’ve seen you before. Who are you?”

A single brow raised, “I don’t think we have met.”

“But I know you.”

Harry tilted his head, “My father worshipped you, not in this universe though.”

Loki grinned, “Ah, perhaps but no. I have seen you somewhere else. In the drifting, I wonder.”

Green eyes widened, “Oh. Perhaps. I don’t know how long I drifted, When I woke up, I was here.”

Thor laughed, “Then you are from another universe. Mother and Father speak of such things.”

The mischievous god scoffed, “Too complicated for his muscle bound brain to understand. What brings you here, star traveler. Surely you have not come to see me in this cell. I have delivered no grievance to you.”

Harry looked to the glass before he cracked from sight and reappeared in the cell, “I am here to heal you. I would like your permission before doing so.”

Loki turned to look at him and frowned, “I don’t need healing.”

Thor sighed, “Please brother, Mother is worried about you. Put her mind to ease.”

The god hissed, “She is no mother of mine! Nor are you my brother.”

Green eyes watched and he flicked his wrist and the god stiffened before falling over, his mouth fused shut. His mumbled cries of indignation as his eyes pinned the wizard down. Harry stepped closer and he gently moved the other to look at him in the eyes, “Sorry, but I am afraid waiting for permission wont get either of us anywhere. Please don’t fight me. I don’t want you to be in more pain than you have to be.”

Green eyes met blue and gently as he could Harry entered the other’s mind. Years and years he spent mastering this technique, only because he never wanted to be assaulted again. He hated having to do this to another person, but luckily, he wasn’t after the other’s mind, but the foreign corruption. He was careful to not view a memory, to focus on the sick energy circling around the other's inner mind. He coaxed the energy to loosen, slowly, tendril by tendril he pulled the corruption free of the god’s mind. Whatever had done this was powerful. Not another mind, but something that had a sentience of some kind. Finally he consumed the energy, shredding it before retreating. Stunning green eyes, much like his own, stared back at him and he carefully removed the spells he had placed.

The god shoved him away before backing up as he stood before turning away from them, “Leave, now.”

Harry apparated himself back to Thor and nodded to him, “He will be fine now. Give him time. He needs to process.” Then turned and headed back up the steps, the golden haired god on his heels. Now to figure out how to get back to Earth. He couldn’t just apparate out like he had the other Avengers, Clearly they weren’t discussing him as Thor had not known who he was yet. That was good, the last thing he wanted was to be pulled into another hero gig.

Harry Meets An Avenger Adjacent

“So technology just goes pzzt with your magic stick?” Her voice was close to his ear.

Harry startled and turned to face the woman, “Yes, that is why your communicator thing broke. Would you stop that!”

The woman laughed and walked around him again before poking him in the arm, “You do not look very magical.”

Green eyes rolled and he flicked his wrist. The woman shrieked as she was jerked by her ankle into the air. Her hands went to him of her dress.

“Harry! This is not funny. Put me down.”

The man laughed brightly as he waved his hand and lowered her to the ground, “I had to prove you otherwise. You're a woman of science, Clearly an experiment was needed for you to understand.”

The woman stood and brushed herself off before pointing, “I will have you know that I am a scientist but I have seen many things that science can not explain.”

His eyes softened, “I know, that's why I am here.”

Shuri’s bottom lip quivered before she nodded quickly, straightening herself fully as she seemed to get herself back together, the moment of fragility passing, “Yes, We appreciate your help. He went into the vision and never came out.”

“He is out now. That is all that matters. When you wander the realms between life and death, you risk the chance of getting lost. I am only glad that I heard him in time. Or we would be having a very different conversation. I would not recommend he do this again.”

“He sought guidance from the ancestors.”

Harry shook his head, “I don’t think he will survive another walk. He may become lost again and there is a time limit to how long a soul can be absent from a body before it becomes permanently lost. If he chooses to do this again. Use this.” He pulled a small gold coin from his back pocket and rested it in her hand. “Rub the coin and think of me. I will get the message.”

Shuri nodded before taking the coin and looking it over, “So no communicator?”

“It will only break.”

The woman rolled her eyes, “Magic is useless.”

Harry laughed, “Couldn’t agree more sometimes.”

Harry Meets The Youngest Avenger

Peter came running into the room, his mask peeled off as he skidded to a stop, “Mr Stark!”

The man sighed and looked up from what he was reading, “What’s up underoos.”

“So, I think I met someone weird.” He scratched the back of his head, “I was web slinging and vulture came out of nowhere. Caught me off guard, and I fell into this guy's yard.”

Steve frowned and walked over to him and looked him over , noting the slashed openings in the suit, “Did you heal already? How long ago was this?”

Peter shook his head, “No! This guy! He healed me. He had this stick thing and he was waving it around and Vulture just froze in mid air!” He posed weirdly before hopping on one foot to regain balance, “Then he was all like, Children shouldn’t be fighting and he healed me!”

Brown eyes watched the younger one carefully, “Black curly hair, green eyes?”

The youngest gasped and pointed, “Yes!”

Blue eyes widened, “Wait, did he have a scar?” Something clicked from an old memory.

Peter nodded, “Ya! It was so cool it looked like a lightning bolt!”

Tony stood and walked over to him, "Where did you see him?”

“Down town, but when I turned back around after getting Vulture secured, he was gone. Just vanished, woosh.” His voice animated as his hands seemed to vibrate with excitement.

“So, he was real.” Tony mumbled and sighed, “I met him a few years ago. I thought I was dreaming it up, because when I woke up he was already gone.”

Steve sat next to him, “If it is the same guy I met, Then I met him back when I first became Captain America.”

Peter laughed, “But he didn’t look much older than me. That would mean he is over 80?”

“We have seen it before. If he had the ability to heal, he would be able to stop aging.” The soft voice from the corner came from Natasha as she stepped into the room, “Sorry, didn’t mean to eves drop. So who is this guy you are all talking about? Is he a threat?”

Tony shook his head, “I don’t think so. He healed me, he had every chance to kill me. I think he is just one of those people that don’t want to be involved.”

Natasha nodded, “We could really use a healer though. Maybe we could convince him to be on standby?”

Peter shrugged, “Maybe? But he already left, how would we even find him?”

Natasha frowned, “Tell me more about him, surely we can find him with our resources.”

The four sat around the table and began to list everything they knew, or in Natasha’s case, just listing ways to get things sorted. It wasn’t long before they had a game plan. They would catch the healer, thank him, and try to convince him to their side.

Harry Dates An Avenger

Harry clapped his hands as he watched the two men stand at the center of the isle. Arm in arm and happy as could be. Both dressed impeccably in their tuxes. One a deep maroon and the other a classic black. The two men walked down the aisle and nodded to people before stepping through the doors and into the large open room. The ball room was classical in nature with a few modern nuances. Golden and blue decorated the space, as people began to form a circle to watch the first dance.

Green eyes watched as Steve and Tony took hands and began the first steps. Tony’s moves not as reckless with the straight laced movements of his partners. They were a pair that even helped each other out. All rules and someone who thought rules, more of suggestions. He laughed when The man of steel dipped the hero and kissed him gently. Woots calling from the crowd. The music changed and others began to take to the floor for their own dances, while others mingled off to the bar or buffet that he knew he wanted to go take a look at.

He honestly shouldn’t be here, but when he heard the two were marrying, well he got curious. It never hurts to check on old patients. Especially ones as memorable as them. A voice cleared itself beside him and he turned to find another man, tall, thin. Sharp eyes and a wisps of silver in their brown hair, a cloak draped around his shoulders.

The man glanced at Harry and held out a glass of drink, “You are not supposed to be here.”

Green eyes sparked and he shrugged, “I know. Yet here I am and the time line you're worried about is perfectly intact.”

The man shrugged, “Well, not perfectly. You sure made things interesting.”

Harry laughed, “I live an interesting life.”

Doctor Strange peered at him again before sighing, “Well, I suppose this reality is better anyways. Though I find it not fair when a god decides to mingle.”

“I’m not a god.”

The man turned to face him fully, “No, you're the master of one. I’m just glad you're on our side.”

“I’ve always had a bit of a hero complex.”

The man nodded and took another sip of his drink before leaning closer, “Would you care for a dance?”

The wizard laughed and shook his head as he set the glass down, “I’m a horrible dancer.”

“Is that all that is stopping you? Come on, one dance.”

He rolled his eyes but took the man’s scarred hands. He let himself be pulled onto the dance floor and pulled against the other. He tensed at the first few steps but the gentle music and the soft coaxing of his partner and Harry relaxed into the dance, smiling softly at the sorcerer supreme. His magic humming under his skin happily.

Dr. Strange looked at the man in front of him and cleared his throat, “I know this is rather sudden, but would you do me the honor of a dinner sometime.”

The wizard startled slightly and looked up at the man, “You mean like a date? Dr. Str…”

“Stephen, please and yes, a date.”

Harry smiled, “Stephen, I would be honored.”

Stephen cleared his throat and nodded, “Thank you.” The lapel of the cloak reached up and patted the man’s cheek, “Stop that. I’m fine.”

Harry laughed brightly and moved a hand to rub at the cloak, “Don’t worry.” then laughed brighter as the cloak gave him a thumbs up. This was truly a bizarre life he was leading but atleast, it was a happy one.
