Dick released all of the air in his chest with a sigh of relief and slumped against the couch. His neck rested on the couch’s back as his head hung loosely over it. He studied the ceiling and went over Bruce’s contingency.
1. Make sure you are in the past and check all your bases. Determine whether science or magic brought you there.
Definitely in the past, but also in an alternate universe. Definitely a magic trick.
2. Stay out of anyone’s way and don’t move until I find you and bring you home.
Rescue’s not coming, and I need to move.
3. Whatever you do, never ever mess with time.

Summary
Lieutenant Stiles Stilinski of the Nemetan rifle regiment can't find it in his heart to celebrate the end of the long and bloody war against the darachs. Perhaps it’s the faces that swim behind his eyelids, lost to time, dark magic and musket balls, or perhaps it’s the doubt he harbours that he can truly be good at anything except being a soldier.
Regardless, as he huddles at one end of the bar, nursing an ale barely worthy of the name, he listens as the locals sing their songs and toast to the fallen. He doesn't think about the men he has lost, and he definitely doesn't think about alpha Lord Hale, leader of the Triskellan battle-pack, who was last seen leaping into the heart of the fighting with typical reckless heroism.
Even if Hale had survived the battle, nothing could or would ever happen between them. Shifters were too different from humans - too wild, too strange. It didn't matter that Stiles felt like the only person who could see past the teeth and claws to the heart of the man beneath them. They were from two different worlds.

Dick rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “I’m mostly used to sparring with my little brothers, it’s kind of just habit, and I was having fun. I didn’t want the match to be over too quick.”
“Too quick?” Derek asked, eyebrows raised. “I’m twice your size, kid.”
Dick shrugged. “So’s Bruce and we’re pretty much tied at this point, or at least according to the score board the kids started to keep for Saturday spars.”
“Saturday spars?” Derek repeated, following him towards the locker room.
Dick flashed him a smile. “What? Don’t have any weird family traditions?”
“Not ones that include hitting each other,” Derek said
OR The BAU gets a probationary profiler who is a little more than he appears at first glance. Or second. Or third. Just how many secrets can Dick Grayson be hiding from a team full of profilers?
