Grian was tired
In fact — tired was an under statement.
He had just spent forever following a false trail to find cleo just to end up finding Ren! He felt devastated. He rubbed his eyes and dug open an area to sleep in, Gem, Ren and Scars voices following.
“Heyyy G!” Scars voice whispered from behind him sending a quick shock into Grians body “Scar! Don't do that” he rubbed his eyes as he placed down a bed “sorry! Just checking up on you, you look tired man” the taller man chimed sweetly — Gems voice quickly rang into the conversation
“Lets make all sleep in a way that would make the BIGGEST creater EVER!!” She said excitedly, Grian chuckled quietly and of course he’d agree — just 2 days ago he had purposely slept deep in a mine to get father quizzmas, other wise known as Santa bot to break a bunch of blocks for diamonds.
“Yeah let's do it”
Little did he know the tall vex behind him quickly grew ideas.
You see, for awhile now Scar and Grian have been in some sort of a..relationship? No they weren't dating. It was a strange situation. A situationship some would say — you see, this has started in third life but wasn't as bad by the time they got to double life..and well now they just haven't talked about it?
Scar quickly mined the blocks next to Grians bed while speaking “sooo are we sleeping in a line?”. Grian cocked an eyebrow.
He looked around, Gems bed had a block between hers and Grians and Rens bed was by Gems side also with blocks in-between. Grian quickly shot Scar a look wich the taller man just ignored.
Grian was to tired to deal with this.
He sighed — long and heavy — and before Scar could say anything else Grian just turned and flopped into the open bed space. No complaints. No words. Just exhaustion.
Scar blinked.
“Oh—” he muttered softly before quickly sliding in beside him, movements fast like he didn’t want to miss the chance. The bed dipped slightly and without thinking — without even meaning to — Scar shifted closer.
Force of habit.
Desert nights were cold after all.
Scar curled in, an arm tucking around Grians middle like it had done a hundred times before, head resting near his shoulder. Easy. Natural. Unquestioned.
Grian froze.
Just a tiny bit.
His breath hitched — barely — eyes wide for half a second before he realized he truly didn’t have the energy to care. His body stayed stiff, brain screaming something unintelligible, but sleep was already pulling at him.
Scar hummed quietly, already half out.
“Um.. happens if trivia bot gose through a lava lake?”
Grian stated at the stone wall I front of him
“We’ll find out”
despite the fact he wanted to sleep, he turned over to face Scar, Scars hands quickly going to Grians waist softly. “Though, I do think that's a very good way for us all to go out togethor, singing Christmas carols?” Grian said loud enough to earn a reaction from Gem and Ren. “If that happens wich Christmas carol should we sing?” the blonde muttered while tucking a hair behind Scars ear.
“Well! According to the Ho Ho’s handbook, we all each sing- all- we each have a unique ong and we blend it togethor for holiday cheer” Scar stuttered excitedly “exactly!” ren chimed in
“Okay” Grian let out quietly before shutting his eyes
————-
“GUESS WHOS BACK!!”
Grian quickly shot awake due to santa bots loud roar
“Woah G you okay?” Scar qucikly steadied the panicked Grian
“M’ fine- i just..i actually fell asleep..” he rubbed his eyes and watched as each of thier santa bots scurried toward them. Scar flatenning Grians messy bed head
“Oh geez..thats look at those diamonds” Grian mutterd to no one in particular
So as he did the Santa bot, he was very very dissapointed to have failed. But honestly way to tierd to care. As the Santa bot dissaperd he found himself yanking Scar back into bed to sleep, wich the taller man quickly did so.
But little did Grian know — Scar wasnt sleeping, he wasnt sleeping at all.
Scar watched the blonde male sleep peacefully, butterflies filling his stomach
He didn’t move — not at first.
He just looked.
Grian looked softer like this, lashes resting against his cheeks, mouth slightly parted, hair a complete mess. Scar thought it was unfair — how someone who caused so much chaos, so much destruction, could look so…gentle.
Angelic even.
Scar almost laughed at the thought.
Grian was the definition of destruction. TNT. Traps. Chaos incarnate. He broke worlds with a smile and called it improv.
And yet.
Scar had seen the way Grian patched people up without being asked. The way he worried — quietly — when someone didn’t come back. The way his voice softened when he thought no one was listening.
An angel disguised as a menace.
Scar swallowed.
Carefully — like he was afraid Grian might vanish — Scar lifted a hand and brushed a thumb across Grians temple. Just once. Feather light.
“Idiot…” he whispered fondly.
Before he could overthink it — before doubt could crawl in — Scar leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to Grians forehead. Barely there. A secret.
Grian shifted slightly in his sleep, a small sound leaving him, but he didn’t wake.
Scar froze.
Then slowly relaxed.
He tucked himself closer, arm tightening just a bit around Grians waist, forehead resting against his hair. This time — intentional.
Protective.
Safe.
Scar closed his eyes.
And for the first time that night, he finally slept.
—————————
“Oh gem im gonna kill this dog!” Grian shricked as they built upwards from the gaint hole the Santa bot made.
Scar let out a laugh, he aswell almost died to gems dog.
“Grian I- AH!” Scar gasped as the dog teleported onto his block
He tried to crocun but at last it was no use, he was already falling through the air — the last thing he saw was Grian peeking over the edge and giggling while screaming “bye Scar!”
.
.
.
Scar gasped awake in his bed, right he was back on hermitcraft.
He stared at the picture frames on the wall- or well inside of the creature he's living in and smiled seeing him and Grian during Christmas last year.
