I took some liberties with otter anatomy and now they have toe beans! Assume they are a type of space otter.
Painting progression:
Otter-Wan's coloring looked fine enough on his own, but, after Otterkin was painted, his coat seemed too pink so I had to add some brown and red tones to help moderate it.
Added the quote this painting was inspired by and then Anakin's scar and a rough outline for Obi-Wan's beard.
The pencil sketch was mostly just circles and ovals stacked on top of each other in the vague approximation of an otter. I knew they needed to be holding hands and just sort of built up from around that. While going over it in pen, I made sure Otterkin's face was more angular than Otter-Wan and that Otter-Wan's cheeks were a bit bigger to account for his beard. Otter-Wan is also a bit curled up in contentment while Otterkin is stretched out more.
