Chapter Text
Atsumu’s mind was blissfully foggy.
He couldn’t quite grasp the reality he’d found himself in, Kita’s naked back pressed tightly against Atsumu’s gym shirt, Kita’s syrupy-sweet scent wafting all around Atsumu, and most importantly, Atsumu’s cock nestled deep inside Kita’s ass, knot trapping Atsumu’s cum inside.
It was a scenario straight out of a wet dream.
Granted, said wet dreams didn’t tend to include Osamu on Kita’s other side, also buried in the omega, but hey. Atsumu had never, even for a fraction of a millisecond, never ever considered that he could get the chance to make his fantasies reality. Sharing with Osamu was a small price to pay to get what he wanted, and one he was used to paying all his life.
Besides, Osamu added even more heat and friction, so Atsumu couldn’t find it in him to mind.
None of them spoke while they waited for the alphas’ knots to go down. With each passing minute, Atsumu could feel the fog in his brain lift, but he clung to it as best as he could. He didn’t really want to think, and he definitely didn’t want this to end.
But eventually, his knot started to shrink, as did Osamu’s. They could slip out, letting a mix of slick and cum trickle out.
Kita’s knees buckled as he tried to stand by himself, but Atsumu caught him. “Shit, are ya okay? Did we go too hard?”
There had definitely been a point where Atsumu had stopped thinking and caring. He definitely wouldn’t have thought about birth control if Osamu hadn’t brought up condoms. He would’ve just knotted Kita and then panicked afterwards when his brain decided to work again. In the same vein, Atsumu had just been chasing his own pleasure, without paying much attention to Kita. Granted, he seemed to be very much enjoying himself, but still. Atsumu could’ve thought to jerk him off, too.
Thankfully, Kita shook his head. “It’s fine. I just need a minute.”
With help from Osamu, Atsumu gently lowered the omega to the ground, letting him sit on his discarded pants. They got soaked with a bunch of bodily fluids that way, but it was better than letting Kita sit on the dirty floor.
“I should probably call home, after all,” Kita finally said. “And take a shower.”
Yeah, that… made sense.
The twins let Kita call, and then made sure there was really nobody else around as Kita made his way to the showers.
While he got clean, the twins mopped up the mess they’d made in the locker room, and also did a quick rudimentary sweep of the gym. There wasn’t really anything they could do about Kita’s ruined pants, so Atsumu left his own uniform pants out for Kita. He had his club track suit with him, so he wouldn’t have to go home in shorts in January, which Kita would absolutely not approve of, no matter how much of a gentleman Atsumu wanted to be.
Kita did wear Atsumu’s pants, which were too long for him.
Atsumu had no idea their scary captain could look this cute. Whatever alpha instinct hated that Kita had showered his scent off was immediately pacified by Kita wearing his clothes.
Kita then informed them that his mother would arrive soon, so the twins walked him to the parking lot. Not that Kita was likely to need their protection considering nobody was around, but there was no way they’d let an omega about to go into heat wait alone in the dark in a parking lot.
They stayed a respectful distance away from him, and bowed to Kita’s mother when he arrived to pick up his son.
Through all of this, the twins didn’t exchange a single word. They didn’t need to.
But as they walked the familiar route to the bus stop, the magic wore off, and Atsumu couldn’t contain himself anymore. “Fuck,” he said, a huge grin spreading on his face. “That was so hot.” An excited giggle escaped him. “Can ya believe it? We’re officially not virgins anymore!”
Osamu hummed. He didn’t grin like Atsumu did, but he bumped his fist against the one Atsumu offered, and made that smug face he always had when he was extremely satisfied with himself. “And it was with Kita-san.”
“That’s so insane,” Atsumu agreed, “I really didn’t think we’d have a shot with him.”
Both of them had been crushing on Kita for a while now, always vying for his attention. It hadn’t ever felt like a serious competition, though, not when he was so out of their league. The best they could do was try and make him proud of them as a captain and senpai, but Kita accepting either of them as his alpha? That was a pipe dream. Most of the time, he treated them like pups.
“No wonder, dude, ya totally blew the shot ya got, too. ‘Ya were made fer taking our cocks’? Seriously, Tsumu? That’s the only thing ya could come up with?”
“Shut the fuck up, it’s called dirty talk and Kita-san totally liked it!” Atsumu’s face heated up considerably. Fuck, having it repeated to him like this totally did make it sound lame, and kinda creepy. Maybe this was why you weren’t supposed to let your siblings in on your sex, so they wouldn’t know how much you embarrassed yourself during it. Though, as always, if Atsumu had no defense, he always had an attack, and he was never afraid to bring it out. Especially not against Osamu. “Ya were the one who wanted ta suck Kita-san’s slick off my fingers, ya got like, no room ta talk!”
And yup, now Osamu was beet red as well. A battle well fought and practically won. “Because it smelled and tasted amazing! Yer just jealous ya didn’t get any yerself!”
“We both know I won’t be the one whining fer months that I didn’t get ta have it straight from the source or mixed with cum!”
“Well at least I won’t be the one making my twin listen ta all my dirty fantasies while pathetically humping the sheets, cuz I can actually keep my mouth shut unlike ya!”
They descended into a squabble, arguing and physically pushing at each other until Osamu landed in a bush and Atsumu stumbled onto the – thankfully empty – street, and they quietly agreed it was enough, walking the rest of the way to the bust stop in silence.
As they waited for the bus, Osamu started fiddling with the strap of his gym bag. “Do ya… Do ya think Kita-san likes…”
“’No harm in taking the edge off before the heat really hits’ sounds more like ‘friends with benefits for convenience’ sake’ than ‘take me on a date next time and court me properly’, Samu.” As much as Atsumu didn’t want to, he had to cut off his brother’s hopes before they grew too big.
Between the two of them, Osamu had always been the one with the softer heart. Osamu always wanted to be accepted by their peers, needed a group of friends around him, and deep down dreamed of romance. Atsumu never understood how or why Osamu made himself so vulnerable so easily and voluntarily… but he’d do anything he could to make sure Osamu still didn’t get hurt.
He was the older twin after all, even though Osamu would forever argue that they’d existed for the same amount of time, ever since the bundle of cells in their mother’s womb split into two. And even if they went by birth order, the couple of minutes Atsumu had over Osamu made no difference in strength, intelligence, or maturity. But still. It was a matter of principle.
“Right.” Osamu’s shoulders sagged, but he offered his twin a small smile. “It’s probably better anyway if he doesn’t like either of us.”
Fuck. Yeah, Osamu was right.
What they’d done… Atsumu loved it. It was great. He’d do it again, no questions asked. But… it wasn’t exactly… normal? Sustainable? Expected? Societally acceptable?
Losing your virginity alongside your twin fucking the same omega was the kind of thing you did due to teenage hormones, a fun story to look back at when you were all adults and settled down properly. It wasn’t something you built a relationship on.
Kita wasn’t looking for two alphas to settle down with. Nobody was.
Multiple alphas crushing on or courting a single omega simply meant the omega could choose whichever they liked best.
And the thing was, Atsumu could take rejection from Kita. He knew himself, he could see his flaws, could see why Kita wouldn’t choose him. Atsumu was too immature, too wild, too focused on his dream of becoming a professional volleyball player. He wouldn’t be a good mate to Kita, who was wise, mature, and down-to-earth.
He could accept it. It stung, to have his first real crush end without even a chance of becoming more, but he could live with it. Could hope to move on in the future and find a mate he could love, and who would love him back.
But to be judged to not be good enough by Kita, while Osamu was chosen to be his mate?
No. No, Atsumu’s ego couldn’t take that hit. His heart couldn’t take that hit.
Especially not right now, not after the past week. Not right after he’d had to face the possibility of a future where he was truly alone for the first time in his life.
It would feel like he’d lose Kita to Osamu, while also losing Osamu to Kita. If that happened, Atsumu would absolutely for sure do something insanely stupid out of jealousy that would make both of them hate him forever. He didn’t know what, but he knew. It wouldn’t end well.
And honestly? As much as Atsumu wanted to be the one Kita chose, to prove himself worthy as an alpha to the omega he respected the most, he’d probably feel like shit to be chosen over Osamu.
Not that Atsumu didn’t love winning against him – the best moments in his life were still chosen to be setter over Osamu and chosen for the Youth Camp when Osamu wasn’t – but Atsumu hated seeing Osamu really hurt.
He’d hurt Osamu with his reaction to his future plans, and with ignoring him for the past week. Right now, Atsumu needed to mend what he’d broken, not hurt Osamu all over again.
“Yeah,” he finally agreed out loud. “Bros before hoes, amirite?”
Osamu snorted. “Careful, if ya get caught calling Kita-san a hoe, I might have ta bury my bro.”
“What, ya wouldn’t defend me? Risk yer own life fer mine?”
“No. I’d watch ya get torn apart.”
When the bus finally arrived, the twins were squabbling as usual. The bus driver looked annoyed with their volume, but Atsumu couldn’t care less. This was just how they were. This was how things should be.
He didn’t need anything to change.
Kita suffered through the worst, but also the shortest heat of his life.
An average heat lasted three days, though Kita was usually done after two, and only stayed home for the third day to sleep off the exhaustion from the previous days.
But while Tuesday was hell, Kita could already use Wednesday to rest. He was still tempted to stay at home Thursday, though. Tuesday alone had been enough to make Kita feel like he needed at least a week to rest.
He’d never been this desperately horny in his life before. Nothing he had done could hope to satisfy him. His toys weren’t big enough, or hot enough. They didn’t have the right texture. There were no accompanying scents, no rough voices, no hands roaming over Kita’s body.
His toys were toys, not alphas. And in his heat-induced haze, Kita couldn’t understand why his alphas had left him. He’d taken their knots well, hadn’t he? But there was no trace of them. Even Atsumu’s pants had been taken away by his mother right after he took them off, since he’d managed to get slick on them on the ride back home already.
So, Kita was left to suffer entirely by himself, biting down on one of his pillows so his family wouldn’t hear him pathetically call out for alphas who wouldn’t come.
As soon as his heat wore off early Wednesday morning, Kita was thoroughly embarrassed. What was he doing, thinking of the twins as his alphas?
They were his kouhai, possibly his friends. Nothing more and nothing less.
What happened between them… just the thought of it made Kita blush. He’d been so shameless, asking for both of them. He’d cried on their cocks. How was he ever supposed to look them in the eyes again? At least he technically wasn’t their captain anymore, because he had no idea if they’d still hold an ounce of respect for him after seeing him like that.
He could only hope all of his crazed thoughts about being a prize for victorious alphas to reproduce had really stayed just thoughts and he hadn’t said any of it out loud. He would never live that down.
But regardless, it happened. Kita now needed to make peace with it as it was too late to change anything, and live with the consequences.
There was a part of him that wanted to be angry at the twins. Kita had been in heat, not in his right mind. Even if he’d come onto them, they shouldn’t have accepted. They should have sent him home. They knew full well that an omega in heat couldn’t consent.
It felt hollow and hypocritical, though. Kita couldn’t really summon any anger when he’d done what he could to convince them he wasn’t actually in heat. He’d lied to them until they were convinced.
Just like he’d lied to them about being on birth control.
By all accounts, Kita had coerced them to sleep with him under false pretences. It was entirely his own fault. He should’ve been the rational, mature one.
He’d just wanted them too badly to control himself. Even now, without the plausible deniability of heat-induced arousal, he couldn’t regret what he’d done. If they offered him a repeat, he’d take it against better judgement.
Though they likely wouldn’t.
Which was alright. Kita could live with it. It had the consequence of making things awkward between them, but with communication and some effort on all sides, there was no reason to believe they couldn’t overcome it. It would be fine.
If that was the only consequence.
Which was a big ‘if’.
But, after consulting the internet, Kita would have to spend at least another eight days wondering.
So, on Thursday morning, he decided there was no point in delaying the inevitable, and went to school. He took Atsumu’s pants with him in a plastic bag, washed and dried so it held no traces of Kita staining it.
He had no real reason to drop by practice anymore, so he went to the second-year floor during lunch break after he’d eaten.
Before he had any chance to prepare himself or even decide which of the twins’ classrooms he should look for them in, he ran into Osamu in the corridor. Choice made for him, Kita approached him, doing his best to seem like there was nothing out of the ordinary. Especially since there were a few other students lingering in the hallway, or walking about.
“Osamu. I was looking fer ya, or yer brother.”
Osamu turned to look at him, a bit surprised. “Oh, yer back ta school already, Kita-san?” A faint, but clearly visible blush spread on his cheeks. “Yer not pushing yerself ta be back early, are ya?”
Kita’s heart did a totally unwarranted skip in his chest at how adorable Osamu looked, and how obviously he worried for Kita.
It didn’t have to mean anything, though. He was likely embarrassed just as Kita was over what happened, and of course worried like any decent friend would be. There was no point in overreacting or reading into anything that wasn’t there.
“Thanks fer yer concern, but I’m perfectly fine. I’d rest if I needed ta. My- heat was mercifully short this time.” God, what was he doing? Stumbling over his words over a perfectly normal thing that both of them had been very aware was happening.
The red tint of Osamu’s cheeks definitely turned a shade darker. “Oh, uh, good. That’s… nice.”
Ah, yeah. Things were definitely a bit awkward now. But Kita had come here with a goal in mind, and he would not further make a fool of himself by turning tail before he’d accomplished it. That would only serve to make it more awkward for everyone the next time he attempted it.
“Thanks fer taking care of me the other day.” He bowed to express his gratitude. “Please extend those thanks ta yer brother, as well. And of course, thank him as well fer lending me these. I appreciate it.” He handed over the plastic bag containing Atsumu’s pants.
“Oh, uh, no problem. Really, uh, the opposite of a problem, actually. Yeah. We… enjoyed it.”
At this point, Osamu’s head resembled a tomato in colour.
Kita’s own cheeks were a little warm, as well. “Good. I was worried I may have… overstepped a little."
"No!" Osamu cut in quickly. “Not at all. No reason fer ya ta worry!” He opened his mouth as if to add something, but then closed it again, maybe having thought better of it. It did sound like he was rambling without much thought. Perhaps it was better he stopped before he embarrassed himself.
“I’m glad. I won’t hold ya up any further, then.”
“Ah, I wasn’t going anywhere important. But thanks fer returning these.”
Kita bowed as a goodbye, and turned after Osamu returned the gesture, freeing them both from this horribly stiff talk.
Honestly, Kita was glad he didn’t need to go to practice anymore.
After a couple of days, Kita was honestly considering going to practice again. He could get through the school days just fine, focusing his mind on whatever his teachers taught him at the moment. But as soon as his mind was free to wander, time seemed to grind to a halt. Kita would take a hundred horribly awkward talks as long as they pushed the clock to move faster.
No other eight days in Kita’s life had taken this long. It was an eternity.
He still didn’t go to practice. He’d talk to the twins again when he knew whether there was something he had to tell them, or if they could go back to normal.
Eventually, though, time passed, as it always did. It was Thursday now, the required ten days after Monday.
Rather than going straight home, Kita went into town first, to a convenience store a bit away from the school. Nobody he knew needed to see him make this purchase.
The judgemental stare from the middle-aged beta in line behind him was enough.
At home, Kita greeted his grandma like usual, and then rushed to the bathroom. He didn’t even bother changing out of his uniform. He needed to know, now. For sure.
That was why he’d bought one of each of the four early-detection pregnancy tests the store had in stock. He carefully read the instructions of each, and followed them as precisely as he could. There was always a risk of false positives or negatives, but he could do his best to minimize the chances.
Unfortunately, all four tests required him to wait roughly 15 minutes, which once again stretched longer than such a short amount of time had any right to be. Kita had to resort to closing his eyes and counting each individual second in his head.
When he opened his eyes again, he double-checked his watch to make sure he hadn’t counted too quickly, and then went to look at the tests.
They were all positive.
He was pregnant.
It was just a tiny bundle of cells right now, but there was a pup growing inside of him.
A pup that he didn’t know how to care for. A pup that would disrupt his routine. A pup that wasn’t part of the plan Kita had made for his life.
He was still in high school. No matter what everyone else said, he didn’t feel like an adult yet.
He had no money, no job, and no mate.
He didn’t even know who the father of the pup was.
“Shinsuke?” His grandmother’s voice sounded through the bathroom door, startling him out of spiralling thoughts. “Are ya alright? Ya’ve been in there a while, and I can smell yer distress. Did ya injure yerself? Are ya sick?”
Kita tried to tell her he was fine, no need to worry, but no sound escaped his lips. So, he simply reached out and unlocked the door.
His grandmother entered, worry etched into her face. “Shin-chan, dear, what happened? Yer shaking like a leaf. Come on, sit down.” Kita let her guide him to sit down on the closed toilet seat.
She looked around the room, until her gaze landed on the four tests, all neatly lined up on the sink. All clearly positive. “Oh. Oh, dear.” She reached out, taking Kita’s hands into her own and gently rubbing her thumbs over the back of his hands.
Warmth seeped into Kita.
All of a sudden, tears started to spill. And with them, words.
“I don’t know what ta do. I didn’t plan fer this. I-“ A sob escaped him, and he tried to choke it back, tried to stop himself from shaking. He took deep breath after deep breath, but it barely helped.
“It’s alright.” His grandmother’s voice was steady, just as reassuring as it had always been. Like he was four years old, and this was just a nightmare she was calming him down from. “Ya have time. Ya can think it all through before ya do anything. Nobody else has ta know, fer now, unless ya wanna tell them. I’ll be here with ya, no matter what, okay? Breathe with me, Shin-chan.”
Kita did his best to match his breathing with his grandmother’s. For a while, they were enveloped in silence, only broken up by Kita’s quiet, repressed sobs. His grandmother knelt on the floor in front of him, patiently waiting for his breathing to calm and his tears to stop.
“There we go,” she said. “Yer gonna be fine. Ya have me, and yer mother, ta walk ya through every step if ya want ta have this child. And if ya decide ya don’t want it, that’s just as well. Just say the word, and I’ll arrange everything fer ya.”
Oh.
Immediately, the knot tied in Kita’s stomach unravelled itself. He was totally lost by himself, but he had his family. His mother and grandmother, who’d gone through this before. They knew what step one would be on this journey, as well as every other step. He’d planned to stay at the farm anyway and work with his family. He might still be able to do that while having and raising a child.
And, well, he hadn’t really expected his grandmother to be so open and accepting of him potentially aborting his pup.
“Ya wouldn’t mind? Ya don’t think the gods would judge me?”
“Oh, let them judge.” She smiled, not a hint of doubt on her face. “Shin-chan, we are very fortunate ta live in times where no child has ta be born ta parents who don’t want them, or don’t want them yet. No child deserves such a life. Ta raise one can be the greatest joy in yer life, but they cost so much. Time. Money. Maybe even yer health. It’s exhausting. It’s scary. All of that can be worth it, but it’s not fer everyone. Yer not helping anyone if ya have a child that ya resent fer existing.”
Kita swallowed. “And if I don’t know?” he whispered.
“That’s alright. Ya don’t have ta know yet. It’s not a decision ya should make either way while yer so beside yerself. Calm down, and think it over. Take all the time ya need, and consider every possibility seriously. Yer gonna find yer answer.”
Yes, that… sounded good. He could think, and make a decision once he’d been thorough in his exploration of the topic and his own emotions. “Thank you.”
“I’m here for ya, Shin-chan.” His grandmother squeezed his hands, but then her expression changed to a more serious one. “I hate ta do this, but there’s one question I have ta ask. Please answer me honestly, Shinsuke.”
Suddenly, Kita’s mouth felt dry. He could only nod.
“Yer mother told me he had ta pick ya up from school when yer heat had already started.”
“It was early.” There was no accusation in his grandmother’s voice, but somehow, he still felt like he had to defend himself. “I didn’t notice it until it was already happening.”
“And the alpha who ended up fathering yer pup? Was that a partner ya trust, or did they just let their instinct take over when they found ya?”
So it wasn’t himself he actually had to defend. It was the twins. “It’s not like that. It was my fault.”
“Shin-chan.” His grandmother’s stern tone left no room for argument, but Kita needed to argue regardless.
“I lied. I convinced them I was only in pre-heat, and that I was on birth control. They believed me. They wouldn’t have done anything otherwise. I know they wouldn’t. I trust them. Maybe I wasn’t in my right mind, and we didn’t talk about it like we should have, but… I wouldn’t have said no. Outside of heat, if they’d offered, I would’ve been more careful, but I would’ve agreed. They didn’t hurt me. Please don’t blame them.”
Though not looking convinced, his grandmother didn’t press any further. “Alright, Shin-chan, if ya say so.” She got up, turning towards the tests. “We should clean up before everyone returns from the fields. Do ya want ta keep one of these?”
Oh. That was a possibility Kita hadn’t considered, but it felt like a good idea. Just in case. He nodded. “Yeah, thanks.” He picked up the one that showed the result the clearest, and watched as his grandmother took the rest.
“Ya should take the time until dinner ta wash up and calm down.”
Yes, that was sensible. He looked like a mess right now, which would worry his family and prompt them to ask questions. And while he loved and trusted them, he wanted to have a few more answers before he’d subject himself to those questions.
So he followed his grandmother’s advice, carefully washing his face. Then he retreated to his room, where he finally changed into more comfortable clothing.
For a moment, he stood in front of the mirror without a shirt.
His body looked the same as it always had. His stomach was perfectly flat, muscular from the intense training he’d made part of his life for years. There was no trace of his pregnancy yet. He tried to imagine what he’d look like with a round belly, carrying a child inside of him, but couldn’t conjure anything.
It didn’t seem real. But it was, he had the test as proof.
Kita had sex exactly once, and now he was pregnant.
Even with reassurance from his grandmother, it seemed too daunting to grasp fully.
He knew now that he could count on support from his family, but… would he have an alpha to raise this child with? Should that matter for his decision? And if he did have one… which one?
Kita had no idea which twin had impregnated him.
There was no way to know from what they’d done. Both had knotted him at the same time, and each of them only once.
So Kita took to the internet, typing his question into the search bar that would grant him the accumulated knowledge and experience of humanity.
Could paternity tests differentiate between identical twins?
The answer was as swift as it was unanimous:
No.
