Summary
Humans are persistence hunters. They’re designed to stalk their prey until it collapses. Until it succumbs to its mortality, relinquishing its salted blood and tender flesh to creatures of superior endurance.
Hisoka has been the hunter. Has crept along behind his target until they couldn’t take it anymore. Has seen the look in another man’s eyes when he realized his own will to live wasn’t stronger than Hisoka’s desire. How terrific and new to be the prey! How exciting! An almost seasick feeling, the dread of capture mixing with his longing to face his predator and making him queasy.
He doesn’t hear the pin until it whizzes past his ear and lodges into the wall.

Amidst all of the cheers, Johnny cried out to Gyro in a fit of joy and got Slow Dancer right up next to him, “You were in first this stage! We’ve got a chance now-”
Before Johnny could congratulate Gyro further, his fluffy collar was yanked towards his partner who stole a kiss that immediately melted the snow on his blue painted lips. The audience was surely watching this, right? Was this real? For some reason despite hearing the familiar shutter of cameras trained on them and the other racers, Johnny didn’t push him away. He just remained still as Gyro moved his lips in a rush on his own, he swore he could hear a shuddering grunt emit from his partner as he kept his hand fisted on the front of his hoodie.
It was a silent command.
Stay, Johnny.

Gyro cupped some water in the palm of his hand to pour over Johnny’s shoulders. “Hey, your shoulders are tight, aren’t they? Let me help.”
Johnny glanced back at him, still flushed, “How?”
Gyro shifted his hands up to Johnny’s small shoulders and pressed in, working at the knots he could feel. “My father is a surgeon.” He pulled Johnny a little closer as the smaller man started to relax into the massage. “I trained under him…to take his place… We had to study the human body, know the anatomy….it helps with our family technique too…”
“Mmm…” Johnny was listening, quiet for once as he sipped the wine.
Gyro took another sip of his glass before he moved his hands lower to Johnny’s back. “I used to give girls massages….They liked that.” It’s not so different on you, really.
