His ex-wife still calls him for a screaming match whenever she gets him on the line, even if he is getting pretty good at keeping his cool now. But the work with Constellation is steady, his colleagues are solid, and everyone is buzzing over this latest mystery as it floats upon its pedestal, glowing with celestial light. And then suddenly, there she is, and he'll be damned if she ain't glowing just the same.
Slightly canon divergent version of the Starfield universe, in that for one thing, cats and dogs made it through. As if we wouldn't take them with us.
