After May tells Midtown High about an injury Peter sustained in a Spider-man incident, he is more than content to spend the next few weeks "recuperating" at Stark/Avengers Tower.
It seems the universe has other plans, however, and Peter ends up being swept into his class's field trip. At Stark Tower.

“Pete?” Ned called down, “What’s going on?”
One of the major points the Avengers kept hammering into Peter during his first aid training was that sometimes, even when everything thing tells you that they shouldn’t be moved, a victim has to be moved.
Mr. Harrington’s hair was suddenly floating in the water.
The victim HAD to be moved.
Ned and the others were now all peeking over the ledge. There was no way he could do this without...
Now he really felt nauseous.
But maybe they wouldn’t figure it out?

When everything finally settled down after Mysterio exposed Peter as Spider-Man, Peter's initial excitement about returning to school was quickly replaced by dread. Especially when he realized he would have to go to gym class and face his classmates and Coach Wilson, who now knew he hadn't actually been putting any effort in... like at all.
"So, Peter, you've been holding out on us... I want to see you sweat... Capiche?"
"Yes, sir."
I guess that was about to change.
