Summary
Eddie Munson was practically raised by the concept of harsh realities, and he’s learned not to want things that he’ll never have, which isn’t as much as a bummer as it could be, because making the most out of what you’ve got is just as good.
Steve Harrington, despite his reputation as a casual flirt and a serial dater, has a bad habit of falling hard and fast and never really recovering. Steve Harrington, despite his reputation as a bit oblivious, and a ladies man, figured some stuff out about himself four years ago and promptly squashed all those feelings into a box he never intended to see the light of day.
In which Will coming out forces Steve to be open about some things (because Steve’s issues will always take a backseat to making sure the kids feel safe). And Steve doesn’t mean for Eddie to find out, but he does, and it turns into a bonding experience. (And it’s the best and the worst, because having him as a friend is more than Steve ever could’ve hoped for, but it also feels a little like dying.)

Summary
Steve Harrington was a self-absorbed, vapid asshole. So why the hell was Robin still obsessed with watching him when there was nothing interesting about him?
Right?
Or: if Steve and Eddie had become friends (and other things) before season three, and Robin watches through her own lens of hating the former jock while recognizing something changed and familiar about him.
Or the ultimate summary: S3 from Robin's POV, including Steddie.

Summary
Eddie was bound and determined to be in a bitter, bad mood from the moment he entered Starcourt Mall. He was, he really, really was. Eddie is determined to hate Starcourt on principle. Hawkins is a small town at heart and Eddie didn’t think there was anything that could change that. Not until the bright, loud monstrosity started being constructed at the beginning of the year. It was a miracle, frankly, that it was finished by summertime. There must be a million code violations in that place.
His plans change, because in front of him, is Steve Harrington in a sailor’s costume, bent over a table and wiping at what looks like a melted ice cream sundae.

Summary
Steve can't say it's particularly enlightening to pull up in front of the worst warehouse he’s ever seen in his life, but he doesn’t complain as he follows Kali inside.
“That’s him?” someone mutters, and Steve finds himself feeling offended despite lacking the context of the situation.
“What, you magically summoned me across state and didn’t even know who I was?” he asks.
A moment of silence, and then Kali turns to him with a pained expression. “Steve. You don’t even know who you are.”

Summary
He knocks gently on the glass, and Steve flinches, his head jerking upwards and hitting the telephone box with a loud thud.
“I’m opening the door, okay, son?” Wayne says, before doing just that. He’s hit immediately with an armful of Steve, who sobs as soon as they make contact, and only with great difficulty do they avoid both toppling to the ground.
“It’s alright. It’s alright. I’ve got you, Steve. You’re safe now,” Wayne murmurs, shifting them both a little before wrapping his arms around Steve. He doesn’t stop sobbing, but he does hold on to Wayne a little tighter, as if afraid that won’t be the case if he doesn’t.
