Something wasn't right. The only possibility Severus hadn't thoroughly ruled out was the breaking of a magical oath, but Albus had repeatedly assured Severus that the Potter boy was safe. With no other explanation for the pain, Severus had his doubts. He made inquiries, and with some polyjuice and a couple forged documents, Severus was a perfectly ordinary social worker on a routine call.
He'd planned his exit carefully. Just a ten minute drive from Surrey got him to the door of the British branch of the International Astronomy Guild. At the gates, he announced, "Potions Master Severus Prince requests formal sanctuary on behalf of Charms Master Lily Evans' firstborn."
