If a particular thief wanted to "hypothetically" forge papers for hire, they send a sample of their work to a dead drop on the dark web. Its called the "Book" test. If you pass, it's a badge of honor. Sometimes, if your lucky, you'll get your work back with critiques so you can improve.
The Book is a legend. He's been on the internet forever and can get in and out of anywhere he wants. He's also a ghost. No one knows who he is, but at least he seems to be friendly... mostly. If you're feeling particularly bold in your criminal ventures, feel free to send him your layout an plan. A lucky person gets their job approved, or even improved. The unlucky ones... well.
He may have a particular soft spot for thieves who use their talents for good. One time, maybe The Book not only told Alec Hardison that his team was blown (thereby keeping them from actually being blown up) but he then sent Hardison what he'd missed. Another, maybe Neal Caffrey, who "hypothetically" forges art, tries to get a fake passed The Book in order to try his hand at getting out of *insert trouble here*. After all, forgers of a feather and all that... But while Booker is impressed, Caffrey and Mosey have a long way to go before their fakes will pass his muster. After all, just because a fake is very old, does not necessarily make it real.
More importantly, he can get people out of any regime. For the right price (or the right story), The Book can send the best forged papers, a whole new identity if needed. If there's more than that required, he knows some people willing to risk life and limb for a good cause.
Credit card scams are still the easiest way Booker keeps the team funded: the giant corporations don't even verify the identities of the poor souls filling out applications, much less keep them from racking up a hefty balance before they disappear as though they were never really people at all. But that alone can't cover the costs of a thousand years, even if they travel under the radar.
Booker is in charge of keeping the team hidden and keeping the team funded.
Luckily, he's had two-hundred years to hone his skills as a master forger. Banknotes, art, passports, papers, collectibles, he forges them all. He gets them into and out of government agencies, cartels, isolated countries, airport security, you name it, without them getting pinged or picked up by some parties very interested in the team's skills.
Basically: BAMF Booker in his thieving element, which he keeps utterly separate from the rest of the team, who don't really care about the forged Picaso (or insert artist/sculptor here) insomuch as they do about the bullets they bought with the profits. He is still undoubtedly a force for good, but not particularly caring about ripping people off who have more money than they could spend in 50 lifetimes. But he's also not bored staring at his computer all day, cleaning up their tracks.
I don't mind it being Gen or there being a pairing. If you've never seen Leverage or White Collar, those don't have to be included either. Just a fun side thought. Also: Team as Family?

I always noticed how Andy is both incredibly gentle and harsh with Nicky, more so then the others. I always figured there was a reason for this protective softness over Nicky. Maybe he reminded her of her of a long forgotten biological brother? Or maybe she just felt someone needed to protect Nicky‘s kinder outlook? Or any other reason you can come up with.
Basically, a fic of time(s) Andy was protective and or soft on Nicky and why. (All Side Nicky/joe moments are very welcome though)

Nicky is an enforcer in the mob. He's kind and sweet and like works at soup kitchens in his free time or whatever you want to imagine. But he's also brutal, violent and very good at his job. I love how kind Nicky is in contrast to his violent efficiency and I'd loved to see that explored in a darker setting.
Andy and the crew could be the mob he works with (Mob Boss Andy could be legit) or they're the cops trying to catch the infamous enforcer Nicolo.

So. Booker was in Russia with Napoléon's army, and that's where he deserted and died. That campaign was *brutal*. Imagine if Booker swore never to go back. How would he escape team missions there? (can be silly excuses the team let's him get away with ;))
And maybe, if you want to make it hurt, finish by one time where he didn't have a choice (and how much vodka he drank to cope)Can not be 5+1, the prompt is mostly "Booker and his trauma from that war", if you will 😅

So, less of a story more of a premise for a story, but My idea was That The crew aren't the only immortals out there, but one "family" of immortals out of about four, specifically being the Warriors. There are also the Philosophers (as in Natural philosophy or science), the Artists, and the Historians, and they only get dreams about new immortals in their own "family". The Historians are the only ones who actually know about all of them and Keep track of what's going on (though they may have contacted The Philosophers and/or Artists before).
Now where the plot kicks in is that each family has an eldest member, the very first of their line, who have been around for six thousand years or so (Andy being the First of the Warriors) and all four of the Eldest have become mortal at the same time, so the Historians decided now was the time to gather everyone together so they can figure out what's gong on and what this could mean for them all going forward. They all coincidentally got a new member around the same time...
When Andy and Co. Ask why the Historians never reached out before they're basically like "well frankly you're kinda scary"
I found this idea appealing because of the opportunity for new characters and exploring other ways people with different skill sets would approach immortality and yes. -
