Summary
Harrow Nonagesimus approached the chair with the same enthusiasm of one stepping up to the executioner’s block. Just like those same damned siouls, she found herself running through the events of her life, trying to find the thread of ill fortune running through her past that had led to her current predicament. Others might have found themselves praying, begging like a child for the attention and forgiveness of a merciful God, but Harrow knew better. There was no God — and if there was, it certainly wasn’t merciful.
Because if there was a merciful God, Gideon wouldn’t have a giant fucking needle in her hand.

Summary
She really wanted to put Akemi in her place tonight. She was doing a damn good job of it too, having the princess coming around her fingers despite constantly claiming she hated Mizu's guts. That was the fun part. The not so fun part was hurting Akemi when she didn't ask for it.

Summary
"Waking up officially, back in her own body, had been even more bizarre than anything else. Colors swam before her eyes, and it took what felt like ages to be able to keep them open. Breathing was laborious, like she had swapped bodies with one of the Great Aunts or something. She was surrounded by people she vaguely recognized but was too confused to place their names...except for one. Harrowhark Nonagesimus."
In which Harrow succeeds in a Perfect Lyctorhood, thereby bringing her cavalier back...along with years of pent-up feelings.

Summary
"You’re a virgin,” Gideon said, testing it out. "Huh."
Harrow didn’t like the sound of that huh. She knew Gideon’s noises, and that was a thoughtful, sinister huh. That was the same huh she’d made before putting canned tuna in Crux’s work boots.
Her eyes narrowed. “What.”
Gideon cocked her head to the side. “Is there a reason you’re waiting?” There was no judgement in the question— only genuine curiosity.
Perhaps it was this that made Harrow more inclined to answer. “I don’t have the time to look for someone new,” She shrugged. “And my available pool is… somewhat limited.”
“Well,” Gideon said, with just a hint of conspiracy in those glittering golden eyes. “If you ever want to change that, you have my number.”
What? What?
Harrow blinked. “What?”
Or: the five times Gideon and Harrow successfully bone, and the one time they don't.

Summary
“One whiteclaw and one vodka cran,” Harrow’s voice rang out, slicing through the crowd with all the welcoming shock of a newly bitten lip. “And leave the tab open.”
It couldn't be; Gideon was wide the fuck awake and nightmares can't happen when you're on your feet, right? She couldn't have heard her childhood nemesis, the vindictive little troll who’d inflicted so much cruelty on a younger, less wary Gideon- she'd imagined it. Had to have imagined it.
“Nav,” Cam said, voice lower now that the band- Gideon didn't remember the name so she referred to them internally as The Mopey McGee’s- had finally packed it in. The crowd’s noise rose to a dull roar around them, and Gideon hoped that her auditory hallucinations had come to an end.
“Griddle?”
Oh fuck oh fuck oh-
Not a hallucination.
Not a hallucination.
-Leaving the past behind is a harder task than Gideon thought it would be, especially when that past is an angry little emo intent on ruining her life.
