And there it was. That shit eating smirk that John got when he knew he was getting under Bucky’s skin. He knew he had to stop giving him that kind of ammo, but god God, he couldn’t help the irrational anger he felt every time John got cocky with him. They knew exactly the right way to piss each other off, and John was more apt to weaponize this than Bucky was.
