Summary
Eleven regarded him for a long time, maintaining steady eye contact that started to make Mike feel fidgety.
“Mike, I don’t think we should date.”
It’s actually kind of funny, looking back, that when Mike’s brain turned to radio static trying to process her words, the one lucid thought he remembered having was “Well, I guess I’m glad she said it more kindly than “I dump your ass” this time.”
“I- uh. What?” Was what he ended up saying out loud. Eleven sighed and set her book down, turning her body so she was facing Mike head on.
“I don’t think we should date.” She repeated.It had been a couple years since the last time the world had ended, and Mike and Eleven were just high schoolers, teenagers in a relationship. As far as Mike knew, things were going great.
A break up fic where things end up being more mutual than Mike thought.

Summary
There were twenty-one minutes of silence before El finally spoke. Not that Will was counting, particularly. His brain just didn’t let him relax. He was constantly hyper-aware of everything, including the tick of the clock. Maybe his brain’s way of making sure if time stopped due to upside-down creepiness he’d notice right away. It was annoying.
“You avoid me.” El said, once again startling Will. He looked up and made eye contact with her. The eye contact didn’t last long before they both looked away. Neither of them particularly enjoyed eye contact.
“Don’t lie, Will.” El warned when Will didn’t immediately say anything. Will groaned. He really didn’t want to have this conversation.
“I— okay, yeah.”
