Summary
Oikawa and Iwaizumi have been best friends all of their lives. They got along well, sometimes fought, but never left each other's side. Somewhere along the line, their love for each other grew from platonic to romantic and in their 2nd year of highschool, they confessed. Oikawa and Iwaizumi have been dating for a year now and are in their 3rd year of highschool. It wasn’t really a secret that they were together but they never went out of their way to make it known. Today is a day that Iwaizumi wished they had. Today is February 14, Valentine’s Day, also known as the day Iwaizumi hates how perfect his boyfriend is.

He was 25 when he held Yamaguchi’s hand one last time, feeling that warmth again, while on the way to the hospital. He was 25 as he watched his husband beg him to keep his eyes open. He was 25 when he felt Yamaguchi press their lips together for the last time. He was 25 when his heartbeat went still as he closed his eyes.

Summary
As Sakusa turns around to face Atsumu, their faces close enough to almost touch. His hand doesn’t move off his waist.
“I’m sorry Omi, I don’t even know why I did that. Go back to sleep and I’ll move to the floor.” Atsumu starts to pull his hand away until Sakusa reaches out and rests his hand on his chest.
“Atsumu shut up for 5 seconds,” he nods, “You didn’t wake me up. I never fell asleep, I couldn't with you just staring at my back and then you started running your fingers along my spine and I didn’t know what to do so I just stayed there.”
Atsumu starts smiling, causing Sakusa to stop.
“What?”
“You called me Atsumu.”

Okay, so maybe he wasn't supposed to say that last part. Iwaizumi just stares back at the now surprised Oikawa.
And then Oikawa smiles, that stupid smile he does when he gets Iwaizumi to talk about anything other than coffee.
“I love all animals, I scream every time I see the smallest of spiders, I'm very outgoing, I'm studying psychology, i love to draw, I am the setter for my college's volleyball team, and I really wanna go out with you.” Oikawa finishes his repeat of Iwaizumi's speech and smiles brightly.
Or: Iwaizumi should listen to Maki about relationships more often.

“You are unbelievable Atsumu.” He whispers. That’s as loud as he needs to be considering how close they are.
Atsumu stands there, wide eyed. So many thoughts running through his mind all at once, blood rushing to his head where it was slammed against the metal. Sakusa waits to see what he will do, if he will fight him or say anything, but nothing. Atsumu just stands there dazed and waiting for whatever comes next. Sakusa delivers.
“Four days I’ve fucked with you and you’ve put up with it all for a damn smile. Well,” Sakusa leans barely more forward and pulls down his mask with his free hand. Smiling. “I hope it was worth it.”
