Summary
Every good hero has his or her or their Tragic BackstoryTM.
Your mom died? Hero.
Your dad died and/or is not in the picture? Hero.
Everyone you love is dead? Hero.
Afterall, no good self respecting hero has a bedtime to adhere to. It is only right that an author kills off any prospective responsible guardian that could possibly be a good influence in their life (Don’t think I don’t see the mentor archetype waiting for its turn on the executioner’s block).
My point is, all heroes have really depressing non-childhoods.
Except me (because I’m not like other girls-).
No, you see, my childhood was like any other normal “gifted” child with anxiety issues and imposter syndrome. Nothing huge. At least, it was. The first time around. The second time around… let’s just say I wasn’t expecting to become every monster’s favorite pin cushion or befriend the children of the embodiment of lightning. Is it too late for refunds?
So strap in folks as I take you on a journey of daring do! Of monsters and mortals! Of poverty and riches! Of me trying not to die after already dying!

Summary
She was a fair many things: defunct actress, failed mother, former lover of Zeus.
She burst into the public eye like a firecracker and slowly fizzled out, eventually falling from stardom. What happens to a shooting star when the lights are gone?
The last thoughts of Beryl Grace.

Summary
“I am a Furry, I swear!”
I would not say that at gunpoint. In front of the mouth of a wolf goddess who is threatening to eat me if I don’t demonstrate “strength” or some similar caveman bullshit, I’ll be singing Furry praises all day.
Welcome, Noobs, to Lupa’s Bootcamp/Daycare for the Criminally Neglected and Probably Orphaned Demigods! Complete with luxury amenities such as a wolf pack that will kill you, monsters that will kill you, foliage that will kill you, and of course, the all important, goddess that will kill you! (Maternal affection sold separately.)
It’s shit like this that makes me miss the good old days where you could just do random crap in the name of training to a catchy song and just get stronger through the power of a “training montage”. But, apparently, “training montages” are a cheat code in writing and they don’t make for good storytelling.
Bullshit.
Oh well. What can I do? Blame the Autho- I mean, the Cosmos. Yeah. The Cosmos.

Summary
In every shitty animated family movie trilogy, there is the dreaded Road Trip SequelTM.
In the dreaded Road Trip SequelTM, the main family goes on a road trip (what a shocker) and wacky hijinks and family bonding ensue.
The Road Trip SequelTM, demigod edition, is similar. The demigod edition includes all the same features such as a goofy found family of two (out of three) and their hijinks across the California countryside. Join as one toddler and one adult woman in the body of a child wander through Californian wilderness in search of a tunnel in the middle of nowhere because some talking wolf told them to or die.
Yeah, it’s a miracle that Jason and I have survived so far. But you know what they say: don’t look the profits that convinced the studio executives to continue the dying franchise in the mouth if you want to keep the steady flow of income that’s paying for the student debt you’ve accrued from choosing to go to art school instead of just becoming a software engineer like your parents wanted you to.
I’m sane. Just like all the other demigods.

Summary
Everyone loves a good fantasy world to escape into. Hell, why else is the “Isekai” business a multimillion dollar industry? Because of the amazing harem waifus? Nay!
A good fantasy world is full of unique settings, new people, and strange cultures. Escapism only works when the problems of this new world are completely unfamiliar to the struggles of our own shitty reality!
Camp Jupiter is all of these things! It has the Ancient Roman equivalent of those pilgrim village cosplayers, an army full of child soldiers, and a strange hybrid culture of modern America and Ancient Rome!
(There’s darkness hiding underneath the shadow of Rome’s relics. You can see them if you look a little too hard into the alleyways, question the leadership’s strange behavior one too many times. New Rome is a gilded cage, and we’re songbirds singing for our masters’ pleasure. Who can we call for help? The gods? The ones which have abandoned us here? We’re alone. No one is coming.)
So come escape from the monsters with me (only to be caught by more human-looking beasts). This is the land of Rome’s greatness, where we know not of evil. All is well here, as you can see. (Help us- Father, please- Somebody!)
