Summary
Roy would allow himself this brief indulgence. Afterward, he would neatly pack up his feelings of attraction. They'd remain boxed up, with explicit instructions to only ever be opened again on the off chance that Ed, against all odds, expressed interest...
But for now… In the dark quiet of his bedroom, Roy touched himself, letting go of the control he'd exerted tonight any time his thoughts of Ed had become intimate.
And then the images came.
After seeing Ed for the first time in years, and finding himself deeply attracted, Roy lets himself fantasize.

Summary
Do you know what you look like when you dance, Edward? You are stunning. You are beauty, you are grace, you are vibrance. Your smile is radiance. Your laugh is sunlight dappling my too-long shadowed heart. Your mind is brilliance, and has humbled me time and again.
I am no poet, yet you inspire me to craft an ode to you, clumsy as it may be.
Roy is unable to get Ed out of his mind. He gets out some of his thoughts, instead, in a letter he will never send.

Summary
“You’re being a dummy, Roy. You're the only romantic I know who's unwilling to make romantic gestures.” Roy could practically hear Hughes' voice in his head.
Well. No one could say Roy lacked for imagination. It felt rather pathetic that he needed to give himself a pep talk by way of his dead best friend, but that option seemed better than nothing.
Reluctant to return to his lonely home, Roy attempts a new tactic to cope with his pining over Ed.

Summary
“Riza, my face ached from how much I laughed last night. What is that about?”
“You’re in love with him,” she said simply.
Roy winced a little, both at that specific phrasing, which he’d been trying to avoid, and at Riza seeing through him. Aunt Chris had seen through him too, when she caught him watching Ed dance. “I…don’t want to call it that. At least not yet.”
After an amazing dinner with Ed—definitely not a date—Roy has a necessary conversation with his best friend, second in command, and wrangler.
