Summary
James takes a deep breath as he sinks down onto his bed, book in hand and dressed in comfy clothes. Usually on Hogsmeade weekend he goes with Sirius, Pete, and Remus but the couple seemed incredibly excited about it and James and Peter decided that they would sit out on this one so the two could go on their date. So, taking the opportunity, he figured that he would spend some time reading the book that Regulus told him he had to read. He’s not sure where Pete is right now, but quite frankly, James can’t bring himself to care.
And he’s only gotten to the second chapter when the door to the room flies open and Sirius storms in, walking straight up to James’ bed, “What the hell did you do, Prongs?”

Summary
“Hey Moony,” Sirius starts, walking into their room, “Do you know where Prongs went?”
Remus looks up from his book and shrugs, “Dunno. Try the map?”
“Where is it?”
“Should be in James’ trunk. I think that’s where I put it last.” Sirius nods and stalks towards James’ trunk. Opening it, he shuffles around a bit before finally pulling the map from it. Bringing his wand to its surface and muttering the password, he’s quick to find James, sitting next to Regulus in the courtyard.
“Oh, he’s with Reggie.”
...
It doesn’t take them that long to get to the courtyard but it takes longer for them to find their friends. And when they finally do, Remus presses a hand on Sirius’ arm, stopping him in his tracks. He puts a finger up to his lips and points at one of the trees that they usually sit at.
And lo and behold, James and Regulus are sitting against that tree. They’re sitting shoulder-to-shoulder and both hold different books; hardbacks with gold-detailed debossing of unique designs that neither of the boys can quite make out from this far away.

Summary
“I fucking can’t believe them!” Sirius shouts, throwing his arms up as he crosses from one end of his living room to the other. Remus, Lily with a baby Harry sitting in her lap, and Pandora are all sitting on the couch watching him pace around.
“There has to be a logical explanation for this,” Remus says, standing up and walking towards his boyfriend. The taller presses his hands to Sirius’ shoulders and pulls him towards his body, effectively stopping him from his pacing.
Pandora nods, though she does seem as distraught as the rest of them, “I say we listen to them. I trust that Regulus and James wouldn’t do something like this without reason.”
...
James and Regulus write letters to their friends warning them that the war is going to really start soon and that they should go into hiding, also telling the people they care about that they're death eaters. While still unbelievably angry with them their friends decide to heed their words and it turns out that James and Regulus knew what they were doing.

Summary
“Shit,” Regulus mutters, making James, Remus, and Sirius all look over at him. He’s touching the jewelry around his lips.
“What’s up Reggie?” Sirius asks, tilting his head.
“I lost the ball to my lip ring.” It comes out as a sigh, “Now I’m going to have to watch it until I’m able to find another one.
And it’s just his luck. Normally, if this were to happen, he just finds Dorcas or Evan and steals a ball from them.
...
Regulus loses the ball to his lip ring and is annoyed by the fact that he has to wait and watch the jewelry until he can grab a spare ball from Evan or Dorcas. However, and much to his surprise, James comes to the rescue with a container of spare jewelry that Regulus didn't know about.Series

Summary
“Where is the map?” Remus whispers harshly to James as they watch Regulus and Sirius walk out of the dinner hall together--Sirius dragging Regulus by his wrist.
“I think it’s in my trunk.” James whispers back, “Should we go grab it first, or just follow them?”
“Probably follow them.” Remus informs him. James nods and the two quickly jump up and start walking out, informing Pete that he can eat whatever he wants from their plates--to which Pete celebrates. They take quick steps, arm-in-arm, to where they think the brothers would disappear to.
...
James and Remus decide to follow their boyfriends when Sirius drags James out of the dining hall and catch the brother's arguing in French. While James and Remus are fawning for their boyfriends' French when James laughs at something that the Black brothers say and thus gives his friends and his boyfriend the shock of their lives upon learning that he's been able to understand them the entire time.

Summary
Remus glances up from his book while the red-head storms over to the couch and throws herself onto it next to him, “What’s up, Lils?”
And there is pure fury in the normally calm girl's face when she fully turns to him, crosses her arms, and huffs, “You know what Severus just did to me?”
The words almost immediately catch Sirius and James’ attention, both of them turning with their full attention on. Sirius pushes, “What did Snivillus do to you?”
Lily licks her teeth and rolls her eyes with a huff of not-at-all humoured laughter, “I just had a fucking Slytherin first year come up to me and ask how I let him get with me.”
“What?” James asks,--almost demands immediately sitting all the way up from where he was laying.
Marlene snarls from where she’s sat herself next to him, “Yeah, apparently he’s been telling the whole school that Lily didn’t agree to date you because she was with him.”
...
Lily learns that Snape's been talking about how Lily and him are in a relationship and, instead of retaliating in a way that could get the Marauders in trouble, James reaches out to some Slytherin friends for a bit of blame-free revenge.

Summary
James, Remus, and Peter get themselves on the train and settled in a compartment.
Remus’ eyes are immediately caught and he points at the family of black-haired people, “Who’s that? Do you know?”
James follows his finger and shrugs, “Those are the Blacks. The boy with longer hair is Sirius, he’s the same age as us. The other one is Regulus, he’ll be joining next year.”
...
“I saw you eyeing the brothers. If you can get with one of them, Remus, you’re rich.”
“I doubt that I’d get with one of them, not with their family.” Remus shakes his head.
“Oh definitely not with their family there, but trust me." James smiles, leaning towards Remus, “You get with one of them, you’re rich. It’s just a matter of which one.”
Remus gets a small smirk on his face, “Sirius is attractive.”
James nods, returning his smirk tenfold, “You can have Sirius. I’m all for Regulus.”
...
James and Remus meet on the train before any of them meet Sirius and they make a 'bargain' to get with one of the Black brothers after James informs Remus that he's rich if he can get with one of them.

Summary
This was the last thing that any one had expected. There’s a tense silence over the great hall as James and Regulus part from each other, grins on their faces.
...
When Sirius turns back to his table, he doesn’t miss the looks that all of their friends are giving him. He doesn’t miss the way that Remus has pressed a hand to his arm and raised an eyebrow that Peter is giving him. He also doesn’t miss the way that several eyes from not only the Gryffindor table but several other tables bore holes into his back.
But Sirius doesn’t grace them with the response that they’re expecting.
Because he’s known for longer than all of them.
...
James and Regulus announce their relationship in a very dramatic way--usual for a man like James Potter--but the Gryffindors are more shocked by the way that Sirius reacts to their relationship; not at all. And that's because Sirius has known about them for longer than any of them realize. They're childhood friends and Sirius has watched his brother and best friend fall in love, he's seen the way that they're perfect for each other.

Summary
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Peter asks, speeding up so he’s walking directly alongside Sirius.
Sirius nods, “Of course! I want to drink tonight and the Slytherins are throwing a party, why not?”
“Maybe because the Slytherins hate us?” Remus says, both a statement and a question.
...
And there is a bit of question as to whether the man the group is looking at is James Potter because never would they think that James could even think of possessing clothes like that--let alone in all stark black. But then the song has the dancing couples turning oh-so-slightly, and it’s undoubtedly James, his glasses and smile making it glaringly obvious.
And just to add onto the shock of the whole situation Sirius’ jaw drops further, “Is he dancing with Reggie!?” Remus takes a second to look over his friends’ dance partner and lo-and-behold, the man holding James’ waist is Regulus Black.
...
Remus, Sirius, and Peter sneak into a Slytherin party with the help of Marlene and Dorcas, though they're very aware of the fact that James was 'busy'. Upon being at the party they see a certain someone with a certain little brother.

Summary
James Potter and the Black brothers: arguably three of the richest people attending Hogwarts. They have more money than they likely know what to do with.
So, understandably, Sirius can be commonly seen spoiling his less-well-off boyfriend, Remus. It seems like every Hogsmeade has Remus back at Hogwarts ten or more books richer than before--it’s a joke among the marauders that Sirius is making Remus into the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, what with his ‘beast’ thing and enough books to make a man happy for life.
But what do James and Regulus do?
...

Summary
“Wait,” Sirius starts, sitting up randomly. All four of them are just sitting around, Remus is reading, Sirius is laying his head in his lap and talking absentmindedly with James, and Peter is half asleep. The ravenette almost hits his head on Remus’ book when he sits up but his boyfriend is able to pull the book away quick enough, “So are any of us here actually straight?”
He then looks at James and is just about to open his mouth to say something to him before James furrows his brows, takes a couple seconds to think, then lowers his hand.
Then he watches as Remus’ and Sirius’ face morph into shock, and Remus tilts his head almost critically, “Did we miss something?”
...
Sirius one day asks if any of their friends are straight, then is shocked when he learns that James is, in fact, not straight. After that begins the pestering, Sirius constantly asking James and Peter about James' sexuality and just who was his gay awakening. While the answer is shocking and James thinks he won't like it, Sirius is actually pretty chill with it.

“I just…” Barty starts, smoke billowing from his mouth at the words as he passes his cigarette to Evan, “I just don’t get what you see in him. Like, he just seems like a childish pushover.”
“To be fair, you’re quite childish.” Evan says to his boyfriend, accepting the cigarette. He takes a drag then casts his gaze towards Regulus, “But I don’t really understand either.”
Regulus sighs and looks up from his sketchbook, “You don’t need to understand why I like him, just that I like him.”
...
Regulus' friends can't stand James (minus Pandora) and they don't know why he is dating him. However, each of them encounter different sides of James that they hadn't seen before and maybe, just maybe, James isn't as bad as they thought he was.

“What are you guys going to do this weekend?” James asks Remus and Sirius, taking a sip of his tea, “I know you told me that you were going to be busy.”
Remus is quiet for a couple seconds before he shrugs, “We’re just trying to catch up on some sleep and relaxation time. You know how stressed we’ve been.”
James hums, “Good thing, you’ve got massive bags under your eyes.”
Sirius dramatically rolls his eyes from next to Remus, “You know how it is, he’s always overworking himself.”
James just offers him a small, challenging smile, “What about you? Sirius, you look paler than usual.” The statement makes Sirius sputter and almost spit his tea all over. Remus’ eyes temporarily widen but he is able to recover. “Are you alright, Pads?”

Summary
He puts away all of the shirts he pulled out except for the one that Regulus told him to wear. It’s a nice shirt, James can admit, as he unbuttons it and slips it on, doing the buttons up once again. He unbuttons the top three buttons and quickly rushes to grab the pants he was told to wear.
...
James grabs two rings to slide onto his fingers; his family’s signet ring and the promise ring that Regulus gave him. He usually wears it on a necklace under his shirt but today is special.
Because they’re wearing red tonight.
After making a couple adjustments to his outfit, he snaps a picture of himself in his mirror and sends it to Regulus, awaiting his response.
It doesn’t take long for him to get a response, but it’s in the form of a simple ‘Merlin, I’m in love with you’ from his boyfriend which makes him laugh.
“You really are texting someone.” Says a voice from his door and James whips around. Remus has apparently entered his room without him noticing, “Not only are you laughing at something on your phone, but you’re wearing red.

“You think he knows anything about your style?” Peter asks once they’re both settled on the couch. James laughs and shakes his head.
...
“She just totally ignored your opinion! I agreed with you at the end too!”
“It’s alright, my fashion choice is just too superior to hers.”
“You’re just used to getting ignored.”
...
“Dress nice?” Sirius starts, “You’re gonna have some issues with that.”
Remus hums, “If their liking of you depends on your style then… you’re screwed.”
Peter grins, “Yeah, Prongs. You’re gonna have a really hard time.”
“Don’t worry Pete, I’ll help him look good.”
...
“She had these heels that would’ve made her a lot taller than usual. I told her to wear those but she ignored me.”
Marlene sighs, “If only people listened to your advice more. The world would be so much sexier.” James rolls his eyes and shoves her off the couch, “Seriously. I missed out on seeing my girlfriend in fucking heels.”
...

Regulus runs his hands over his neck, lips stretched into a small smile as his hands trace over the bruises and marks all along his neck.
In the mirror, Regulus can see James sitting on his bed and staring at him with a gentle smile on his face, “You happy with it?”
Regulus hums and turns around to his boyfriend, “So fucking happy.” He walks towards James and falls into his lap. He hums when James’ hand reaches up and traces over some of the marks gently. He moves Regulus’ hair out of the way, brushing his thumb over a particularly dark hickey before pressing a kiss to it, making Regulus shudder.

That night, he went home and begged Effie and Monty to put him in the program that the demonstrators were holding. They rented out a Violin and put him in the program, unsure if he would actually like it because the Violin was hard and James had a tendency to get easily frustrated when he's not good at something immediately.

Summary
“You should ask him.” Sirius mutters, elbowing James.
James furrows his brows and turns his attention towards his best friend, “What?”
Sirius jerks his chin in the direction James was staring, eyes settled on a particular Slytherin, “I know you want to go to the ball with Reggie, you should ask him.”
...
Lily groans and has to exhibit serious control so she doesn’t bash her head against the table repeatedly. She had, in truth, expected that James would want to ask her to the Yule Ball and he figured that Sirius would encourage him but never would she expect that Remus of all people would encourage James. She honestly almost feels betrayed; she has complained to him about how much she’s sick of James harassing her, and Remus is usually the person that stops James and Sirius from their next public display so James can ask her out.
...
Sirius and Remus encourage James to ask his boyfriend, Regulus, to the Yule Ball but Lily doesn't hear 'him' and assumes that he's going to ask her out. Through sharing this with the girls, Marlene gets her with Mary.

Peter smile and shoves Sirius’ shoulder, “I wonder if he’s texting Lily~”
James groans, locks his phone, and tucks it under his thigh, “I don’t see her like that.”
“Doesn’t mean you can’t still be in love with her.” Sirius throws back, raising a brow.
“It’s not Lily.”
“But that means it’s someone.” Remus adds, stepping into the room, “You haven’t denied that you’re texting someone.”
“Fine, yes. I’m texting my boyfriend.” The statement makes his friends--well, more Peter and Sirius--gape at him.
