Amongst those of the restored Air Nation there was no one who could argue that after the eldest grandchild of Avatar Aang, Kai would be the next to receive the Nomads' Master Tattoos.
There was denying his natural talent for airbending, his agility was above that of those older than him and his quick thinking was almost scary to those that didn't know his past as a thief constantly on the run. Sure, that didn't exactly endear him to a lot of people when they found out. But after having karma pretty much thrown in his face during his time in Ba Sing Se and forced to look past his selfishness by helping those who weren't exactly as tough as he had been. It had been quite the learning curb for the fresh airbender and while the training and craziness from the Red Lotus had helped further in maturing the lad, it didn't mean his past didn't occasionally have a habit of catching up with him.

Yet the senators argue over whether or not the Jedi should be trusted and the new congress couldn't care less about anything outside the Inner Rim right now, much to the chagrin of those that do care. But Borsk Fey'lya isn't fooled, something is going on that makes even he, a veteran Bothan politician who still plays by Bothan politics even as Chief of State, can no longer turn a blind eye to.
AU of the NJO set four years later so Jacen Solo will be less an insufferable teenager and more an insufferable 20-24 year old.
