It’s been years since they found each other, since Squiddo looked across a crowded room full of people and picked Ash out from everybody else. There was just something that was different about him. He had the most uncomfortable expression on his face, being talked to by people he obviously hated. Squiddo was so new at all of this, still very unsure of what they were getting themself into. They were looking across the room, not even realizing that their soul was emitting gentle ripples, testing the energies of the souls in the room.
But they had taken one look at Ash, and something clicked into place.
