Summary
It was a nice gesture. So nice that he almost felt bad for betraying him and Subz. If they hadn’t been planning on killing Clown, he’d probably warn them. Try and help fight, maybe, anything besides betray them again to a man who was certainly going to tear them apart with his teeth as soon as he spotted them.
And yet, they had made the deadliest mistake of all: trusting Branzy to value them over Clown.
Really, they only had themselves to blame.

Summary
Logically, Clown knew that Branzy could fend for himself, given the time and resources and preparation needed. Knew that his lamb’s jaw could unhinge and reveal the sharpest set of teeth there was, could bite through bone and muscle and sinewy tissue and flesh with cutting precision, not even out of survival but simply for fun.
But—
If Branzy insisted on keeping up the guise of innocence, who was Clown to stop him? He’d go along with anything that man suggested, always ultimately swayed by those big purple eyes of his.

To be honest, Branzy had been having a good day. Not the best— there had been that one customer who’d looked at him weird when she’d stepped into the bake-cafe (bakery slash cafe) and seen the pretty obvious vigilante propaganda posters he’d let 4C and Mid stick up all over the walls for fun, but she was definitely an outlier— but it had honestly been rather good, which was a rarity for him, and a rarity he cherished very much.
Thinking back on it now, that was probably the first sign that today would end with him standing in an alleyway, looking down at a body.
In which Branzy saves a random guy bleeding out in an alleyway and accidentally indebts Clownpierce to himself, Chief meets a cute guy on his way to work, and Clownpierce is Capital C Conflicted. Oh, right, and he's also a supervillain, and both of his crushes are married to each other. Shenanigans ensue.

Summary
Zam’s smiling as he looks down at Wemmbu, a brilliant light glowing from the sunny metallic halo that encircles his head. He wants to rip it from Zam’s skull and use it to slit his throat— but Flamefrags is standing just a block away with a netherite sword, and while Wemmbu could probably survive it with the same exploits that got him on here in the first place, he'd really rather not reveal his hand immediately.
Also, Zam’s rather nice to look at when he’s acting all confident like this. It makes Wemmbu wonder if he could've pushed his own Zam into acting a little more like this, if he just turned up the pressure a little more, pushed her buttons until she could no longer deny the blood on his hands.
In which Wemmbu gets caught trying to blow up the Prince Zam Empire, and Zam can't just let that slide.

It isn’t right— the Wemmbu Zam knows would be gloating or annoying or doing his best to make Zam upset right about now, flexing status or clothes or whatever the hell he holds against him this time. He wouldn’t be… well. He wouldn’t be looking at Zam like he’s afraid of him.
It gives Zam a bad, bad rush of deja vu, like that same sickening feeling he’d felt when he talked to Mapicc, only to find out that in the time she’d spent away from the rest of the server they’d managed to break her Mapicc down to nothing.
What the hell had happened to him?
In which Zam meets Wemmbu again for the first time in about ninety-seven days- the catch is, this isn't the same Wemmbu who she left.

He’s not sure what to make of it, what to make of Zam and the fact that there’s a pin on his cloak of Wemmbu’s face even despite her own misgivings about him (because this Zam’s Wemmbu wronged her badly, too, and he doesn’t know what to think about that either. He isn’t sure what to make of Zam at all, and the worst part is, even though the likelihood of Zam lying is as high as he’s ever known it to be, Wemmbu believes him almost fullheartedly). He’s not sure what he should think about the ribbons and hairclips and trinkets that represent the people this Zam loves (or loved?) and how she wears her hearts on her sleeve, literally, with a heart count of fifteen hearts earned from people who cared about Zam enough to give him a part of their own vitality.
In which Wemmbu and Zam talk a little, and go fishing together.

“It’s not?” Sharpness tilts his head, bright green eyes roving over the scene once more as if he’s trying to commit it to memory, before they settle on Jude instead, with the exact same intensity as while he was surveying the active crime scene. “What is it, then? Summary
It’s funny, in a fucked up way.
For as much as he hated Sharp now for breaking his trust, for destroying everything they’d built together with the press of a singular button, Jude still found himself thinking of him. He thinks he spends more time thinking about Sharp now than he did before the fact, and it makes a bitter feeling well up in his chest. There was so much Sharp had left behind when he’d betrayed Jude, and it was Jude who had to deal with the fallout now that he was gone.
Jude navigates his life on Strength post-betrayal, while wondering if Sharp's betrayal ever really changed anything between the two of them.
