Summary
While the group now known as the Abyss wasn’t initially on the radar of the hero’s, that didn’t mean the Refuge Tower collapse was their first attack. It started small, people reporting small holes that were choked up to random incidents or construction accidents. Then people started to go missing. They didn’t put it together at first as the disappearances seemed to happen at random with no real rhyme or reason. The only way they put it together was that it seemed the people would disappear out of nowhere despite being in open areas. Witnesses weren’t much help either, as it happened so fast no one had time to see. The heroes would soon learn to regret their lax approach as they would soon come to realize these were just them practicing for the real deal. It all began on a regular Wednesday.
Minute, also known as the hero Iron Phantom, has been growing dissatisfied with the Hero's Guild recently, and after their inaction in dealing with the Abyss, he takes matters into his own hands. Forming The Foundation, he swears to save the city he loves, even if it means facing his own past in the process.

And so, there was really only one option!
He had to fake his death.
It was easy really, all he had to do was ask a few of his friends to pretend to betray him for 500 dollars, another one of his friends to pretend to be the one to pay those friends to betray him, a staged kidnapping scene, and a video!
It was honestly one of the easiest things he’d ever done. Compared to some of the missions he’d been on… piece of cake.
There was only so many times you could save the world, or at least your city, before one became tired of it.

A beeping sound from his phone.

That specific sound only happened when the security cameras detected someone outside.

A face peeks out from under the quilt then, and- what the fuck! Two eerily familiar dark eyes meet his. Since when did Zam have a kid?!
The boy’s cheeks are rounded with lingering baby-fat, and his nose is rounder, and he’s missing one of his front teeth… But beyond that, he’s Zam’s spitting image — golden skin, angular features, dark eyes with long lashes, and a mop of curly hair. He’s even got Zam’s crown on, even though it’s way too big for him and hangs over one eye like an eyepatch.
“Depends who’s asking,” comes the sharp, quiet reply. Zam’s kid has her snark, it seems.Or, Lifesteal Season 6 ends on Sunday. Two issues with that: Zam's going into it almost entirely alone - against a team of 6! - and Spoke wants to help her. As usual, Spoke's help involves ruining (almost) everyone's day, but Zam finally gets that nap, at least, so it works out.

He’d be there for Mapicc now while Spoke couldn’t be. Even if Mapicc didn’t know it was him, he’d be there for his kid.
