Summary
The bartender had the phone in his hand, and when he went to give it over to its rightful owner, he dipped it just out of reach.
“I’ll give this to you on one condition…” he set the device down and reached out his hand. “Dance with me, Stevie.”
“But there’s no music.”
A singular pale digit flicked into the air before he pulled out a red device and began typing. A soft piano sings through the speaker.
“May I?” Eddie reached his hand out, and without hesitation, Steve grasped it, pulling them onto the freshly mopped dance floor.

Summary
The boys continue their banter as they keep driving further and further away from town, and then he spots the no trespassing sign.
“Eds, where are we going?”
“It’s a super secret spot that I found the first time I ran away from home after my mom died.”
“So it’s like your getaway place?”
He nods, “I-uh-I’ve never shown anyone before.”
“No one?” Steve’s voice is shaky as he comes to the realization that Eddie may feel the same about him as he does the metalhead.

“Well, here we are. I-I’ll call you tomorrow,” I ask, extending my arms for a hug, which he reciprocated.
“Yeah, sounds good. Uh-goo-good night, Eddie,” he offers a smile that doesn’t quite meet his eyes before going inside.
What was that about? He looked almost disappointed. Just as I slide back into my van, pink, plush lips flash through my head. Fuck, I should’ve kissed him while I had the chance.

Grabbing the phone off the receiver, he dials the number and presses the cool plastic to the side of his face.
Three rings come through, and then he hears it, “If you’re calling about an interview, hang up and call Argyle. If it’s Tuesday, I’m playing the Roxy. If it’s Wednesday, I’ll be in Seattle. Anybody else, wait for the tone. You know what to do. And P.S., if this is Steve, I still love you.”

“I need a ticket for your first plane to Chicago,” he huffs after running through the giant airport.
“Roundtrip?” The woman dressed in a hideous uniform asks.
“One way.”
“The only spot I have is the midnight, red eye.”

Summary
The convertible pulled over not too far from my stand, and the man who got out stopped my heart. He was gorgeous. The wind blew his hair into a voluminous swoop. The brown hairdo matched his sun-kissed skin in a way that only the universe could have blessed. With a chiseled jawline pulling into a smile that had my heart beating a mile a minute, the fine specimen of a man walked over to me.
“Hey,” his voice was like honey, rich yet sweet.
Oh my god, this is it! This is where I die! He’s too pretty!

Summary
“Mmm…turn it off,” Steve groans, covering his face with his hand. “Ouch! What the hell?”
He peeks one eye open to see what smacked him in the forehead. A large, shiny rock on a silver band stacked on top of a skinnier band covered in more sparkling stones rests on his left ring finger. His other eye flies open as he sits up, ignoring the sharp pain in his back because there is a ring where there shouldn’t be a ring.
-OR-
Steve wakes up with a ring on his finger and memories of Elvis in Vegas, only to find a sexy metalhead in his room.

Summary
“He came to the house, and oh god, he smelled so bad. An-and he took my head, and…Eds, please just get here!”
It took a year and a half of the same, plus the kids witnessing one of their many fights when they came to visit over Christmas break, to make him decide to file for divorce. And when I say that I let out a victorious sigh when he signed those papers and the judge granted him a restraining order, I mean it was a better feeling than defeating the viney inter-dimensional monster.
“I’ll be there in a few short hours. How about you get some rest, and when you wake up, I’ll be right by your side.”
Of course, restraining orders don’t do a whole lot to protect the victim from another beating. This time, it sent him to the ICU.
-OR-

Summary
A man dressed in camo pants and an army green t-shirt walked in, looking like he hadn’t slept in days.
Stephanie smiled at him as he sat down in her section at the booth in the corner. Eventually, she made her way over to his table with a glass of water.
“Can I get you anything else to drink,” she asked, noting his long, curly locks. She knew they’d be shaved as soon as he got to camp, and part of her was already mourning them.
The man shook his head at first, but after a beat, he asked, “C-could you maybe sit with me for a while? I’ve got a lot on my mind and could use some company.”

“What’s this job? You know I have a client tonight, and I’d rather not cancel.”
“I think you might when you hear the price,” Tommy said, pausing for dramatic effect, of course. “$50 million.”
“Wh-h-what the fuck?” He sputtered. “What is this dude into? I’m not fucking a dog or something.”
“Jesus, you’re disgusting,” Tommy wrinkled his nose. “All you have to do is spend a week with this man in Hawaii, attending a few events leading up to his father’s wedding.”
“I have to go to a wedding, and then I get $50 million? What the hell is the catch?”
