Summary
“He closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, tries not to think about that.
Opens his eyes, and sees a girl, sitting on a bench, staring at her phone like it’s hurt her somehow. He’s seen her around; her hair’s platinum blonde, usually in a braid, and her eyes are a pretty sky-blue, and the thing that maybe stands out most is that she’s always wearing gloves, no matter how warm it might be outside.
She really looks upset.
He wants to help.
‘Hey, are you alright?’ he asks, approaching her. Maybe she won’t appreciate it—not when they’ve never spoken before—but he has to try.
She looks up at him, and then around at their surroundings, and then she pauses, like she’s considering how to answer him.
‘My sister got married without telling me,’ she says, after a moment.”or: Elsa, Tadashi, and a moment of kindness that turns into a friendship that turns into more.
