“It would seem my labors to stay out of your care were all for naught, hmm?” O’Deorian murmured lightly as she attempted to adjust herself to be more comfortable on her impromptu surgical table. It hardly took any pressure for Angela to keep her still, which only made her heart sink further. “I should have known that man would be the death of me…” A sigh escaped Moira’s blood-stained lips, but her words did little to ease Angela’s mounting anxiety. It was exceedingly rare for O’Deorian’s words to not be said with perfect annunciation, and the slight slur at the end of each syllable was an ominous portent for her physical, and mental capacities. She had also slipped into her natural accent, an occurrence that happened only once in a blue moon. “Why did we ever leave the labs, Ange…?”
